Grave Scythe is a Reaper in Elden Ring. The Grave Scythe scales with Strength and Dexterity equally.

Greatscythe comprised of a large blade affixed to a crooked stick. Weapon wielded by the aged grave keepers who tend the forgotten graveyards throughout the Lands Between. This weapon is said to have served as a charm against evil spirits in times of old.

Where to Find Grave Scythe in Elden Ring

The Grave Scythe weapon can be found at the following location:

Dropped from Skeleton Mages around the game world.
- Two can be found very early on in Limgrave near where D, Hunter of the Dead is first met: One between the Saint's Bridge and Summonwater Village sites of grace, and another in the village itself.
- Three of them can be found at the Graveyard west from the Lake-Facing Cliffs site [Map Link]
- Three can also be found at the road-fork south-east of Behind Caria Manor site of grace due west of Royal Grave Evergaol [Map Link]
- There are two in Crumbling Farum Azula, south of the Dragon Temple Lift site of grace- among several other skeletal types.
- There are two in Liurnia of the Lakes just east of the Church of Vows grace, down the hill. They are located just on the other (N) side of the path of the Skeleton dropping the glaive.
Can also be dropped by Giant Beast Skeleton

This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War.
Can be buffed by Magic or Consumables
Can be upgraded by using Smithing Stones
Raises Vitality (resistance to Death Blight) by 35 when equipped
Anti-block: ignores 40% damage negation from blocks, heavy- and charge attacks ignores more
Base drop rate is 2% (at 100 Discovery)
This weapon has high AR amongst polearms, making it a great option for Skills such as Spinning Strikes, Spinning Weapon, and Black Flame Tornado for applying bleed or black flame.

NOTE: As of Patch 1.08, the speed of some attacks has been increased and the recovery time has been reduced.

  Do these drop from the Skeleton Mages that are found above the east entrance of Shadow Keep in the DLC, NW of the Church District Highroad SoG? A large group of them appear there guarding a Blessed Bone Shard.

  Used this for my first playthrough.
  
  Powerstanced Jump attack build with:
  
  2 heavy grave scythes
  Main hand AoW is Raptor of the mists, Offhand AoW is Golden Vow.
  
  Bloodflame Blade and Flame, give me strength incants
  
  Black feathers chestpiece + radahns armor (white mask is a good choice too)
  
  Green turtle, Claw, lord of bloods exaltation, and dragoncrest greatshield talisman.
  
  Very fun, do be warned that status will still build when using raptor of the mists, and it can be very ineffective if the enemy doesn't bleed (you could switch to Frostbite if needed).

  Also drops from skeletons in Mistwood. West along the cliff, just North of the spiritspring that takes you beside the Waypoint ruins. There are 3 skeletons that spawn near a bunch of Miranda flowers.

  Certainly the best Reaper to be used if you want to infuse it and make it on your liking.
  
  The super high Base Damage is very nice on +24 and +25, and if you infuse it with anything of your liking, that scale will be so good that even if it's supposed to be a Dex Weapon, the Heavy still gives you a high ton of Str scale.
  
  For elemental infusions, they are all worthy too, as all of the elemental scales does actually help a lot, even the Lightning.
  
  Cold or Poison is really nice, since you can Frost + Bleed, or Poison + Bleed (and even having higher bleed status, since Poison apply Arc scale).
  
  Occult is, by far, one of the best, since it doesn't lower the high Base Damage, and apply all the good Str, Dex and Arc scale, pulling the Bonus Damage to skyrocketing, and even upgrading the Bleed.

  Cool weapon, nice moveset! Dual wielding it with two different Ashes of War (Phantom Slash in the off-hand and Spinning Slash in the main hand, both Cold) is lots of fun and does lots of damage!

  You can kill the skeleton in Summonwater Village six times before your silver bird foot runs out if you want to try and get the weapon as fast as possible

  Dragon temple lift SoG, use a +25 black knights twinblade with Sacred Order AoW and silver scarab. Use your AoW, run out of the door and kill the first beast man on the right, flip your camera to see if anything drops and run back. Repeat until you find a grave scythe.

  The Giant Beast Skeletons do not drop this unless you find one that’s holding it. Farmed at 256 discovery and got many great axes and bone shards. Unless it’s wayyyyy less than a 2% chance, this is incorrect at-least to the degree that it should state “only the giant beast men carrying it” and give a location of one.

  I have farmed for this across 7 different characters across 28+ playthroughs and never had it drop once. I’m starting to think my copy of the game is cursed to never let me try scythes. Literal thousands of hours of gameplay trying 99.9% of all items and weapons and can’t get this to drop ever >.>

  Regular Scythe beats this in moveset, range, and scaling in everything but strength, all while being infinitely easier to obtain. And yet... almost every reaper you see in the hands of a player is a Grave Scythe. This thing's fashion is simply too powerful.

  Can be a little mess to farm, but you farm it best @ Lake-Facing Cliffs, directly after Godrick the Grafted. Just put a sacred ash-of-war on and kill the 3 Scythe-wielding zombies right of the church, nearby.
  
  Big Plus that you can get them early without any boss-fights done.
  Can be a bleed-build-up mashine with spinning weapon and Bloodflame incantation,
  or dual wielded with power stance jump attacks

  On the bright side of farming this early, by the time you get it; You'll have killed enough skeletons to get the runes for the stat requirements in the end... Which means you'll be able to wield it the moment you get it... So I guess that's a plus.

  I have killed 347 over the past few hours. I have 107 Item Discovery, and with the 2% drop rate, that calculates to a 99.95% probability of getting one at least once. Either I am in the vast minority or this isn't a 2% drop chance anymore with Shadow of The Erdtree update.

  Oddly enough the best ash to farm this weapon with actually works very well for a faith build. Sacred Blade gives you a ranged option and a weapon buff that brings the AR to pretty solid levels. I know it’s not a popular infusion by any means, it may actually be the least favorably considered infusion, but I like it a lot and I have a suspicion it will get a lot of use in the land of shadow.

  It's not listed on the page so if anyone, like me, wants this early without making some quests auto-advance by leaving Limgrave then you can farm it without leaving the starting area. I got the lordsworn greatsword and sacred blade ash of war from the scarab north of the third church of Marika. With these two go to Summonwater village and easily kill the Tiba Mariner with them (optional.) After that rest at the site of grace west of the village, then run back to the village going into the ruin on your right and one shot the grave wizard in there with the weapon skill. Each kill takes about 10 seconds so it doesn't take long to get the scythe.

  At the time of this post (Patch 1.10,) I’d say the Lake Facing Cliffs and Behind Caria Manor sites of grace are the fastest ways to farm the Grave Scythe.

  I'm sure you can make this a late game nightmare, but trying it early has been a terrible experience.
  Deceptively short range R1&2, slash damage isn't great, slow swings, unexceptional stance damage and slow charge R2, horse R2 is super awkward, slow bleed buildup, spinning slash has next to zero hyper armor and the time to get to the smash at the end of the second is very long (couldn't land it at all on Margit or swamp dragon before they move away, even in their longest openings).
  
  Would not recommend early.

  At first I was trying Stormcaller on this but I wasn't really able to pressure people effectively, the running attack seems a little slow relatively and also will just wiff on people if they're even slightly bent over in an animation or a couple stairs down from you. Sword Dance has really helped with both of those issues, it's not as good for keeping ganks off of you but it's a million times better for actually threatening people and really helps round out the overall awkward scythe moveset. Plus is just looks cool.

  Was one of my fav weapons for pve. Put spinning strikes on it with cold infused, and get both bleed and cold procs on bosses fast

  I see the scythe getting a lot of crap right now, but I put frost on mine and it procs 127 frost and 50 bleed at 30 Arc and 60 Int and this thing shreds everything! I actually put down Moghs spear to use this scythe

  I did some testing and compared the grave scythe with the flamberg, both two handed. The grave scythe is noticeably slower and i think it has a shorter range as well. Since you want to apply bleed stacks, the faster weapon wins out here. They have very little damage difference. The scythe might win out if you want anti-shield properties in PVP though.
  
  I didnt test power stance movesets.

  I honestly thought that getting this was impossible, as in my first four runs I tried to farm this god knows how many kills at a time, but now I finally got it on my fifth run from one of the skellies aiding the Mariner in the Stillwater village, without even trying. So weird. Oh well, I'm not complaining, I started as a wretch without a plan, now my path is clear.

  slow,bad damage,bad in pvp and pve compared to other weapons,everything got buffed except for scythes. Yeah this weapon sucks now.

  I desperately wanted to play a kind of Inferno guy wielding this cool Scythe and putting Blackflame Tornado AoW on it, but the Flame Art scaling with this weapon is pretty bad... output damage is so decieving outside of Heavy infusion :(

  insanely good with an occult infusion. in pvp you can true combo with spinning slash if you proc bleed on the first spin because the stagger will let you land the second. very good weapon, just don't get too greedy as your lack of speed will open you up for a punish sometimes.

  By far one of my favorite weapons in the game. This carried me through my first run of the game. I remember running it with chilling mist, it procs frost, bleed and has a really good frost buff for like half a minute. Sword dance is also incredibly good for gap closing and dealing insane damage in less than like 2 seconds lol. Also just love its design and lore. Ancient ritual scythes the shamans used as protection talismans against evil, its just so cool..
