The game really puts an emphasis on these. You have trudged through a hellish dungeon and at the end is an item whose swirl has all the rainbow's colours indicating that it is the item of items. You pick it up this holy grail and voilà, it's a gravel stone.

8 of them can be bought by the Nomadic Merchant on the Atlus Plateau at the Forest-Spanning Great bridge site of Grace.

There is one in the Guardians' Garrison in the Mountaintops of the Giants. You get to it by going to the wooden planks by Chief Guardian Arghanthy (where you find 5x Smoldering Butterfly) jump up on the wall and then onto the nearby roof, follow the wall and there will be a corpse with 1 gravel stone on it.

Not sure why its not mentioned here, but Yelough Anix Tunnel is by far the best location to farm these if you don't want to fight the dragon over and over again.

there are maybe half a dozen in the stormcaller church at altus plateau, also it says there is only one on the dragon, but I collected at least five from there as I climbed up its wing, if you look carefully you'll see them as you climb up the dragon.

              • I always laugh when I see that some "gravel" is a rare crafting ingredient. Like, you're in a world with huge jagged rocks EVERYWHERE, but your tarnished is like "Ooooo, this one is pointy...so rare". Anyone know if the Japanese name for it has a different connotation than "gravel"?

There's a few more you can pick up in Crumbling Farum Azula, to the left of the wounded dragon, on the platforms where you can drop down

Farming implies a repeatable process. You can only kill the dragon south of the lift grace once. Not farming

It can also be dropped by the lightnicg casting Gnoll beasts seems to be at least a rare drop but this needs to be confermed
