Launches a large magic bubble
![]() |
Great Oracular Bubble is a Sorcery in Elden Ring. Great Oracular Bubble spell creates a bubble projectile that moves forward until it explodes, dealing damage in a small AoE. Updated to Patch 1.07.
Sorcery of the claymen who served as priests in the ancient dynasty.
Produces a gigantic magical bubble that drifts towards foes before it naturally ruptures. Charging increases the delay before the bubble pops.
The claymen search for lost oracles within their bubbles.

Wish there were other options than just putting the target to sleep, doing a knockdown, or casting at point-blank range.

This one tapped someone with veteran set veteran set, pretty solid PVP spell for me

It's being compared a lot to Cannon, but I'd barely characterize it more as an explosive Magic Glintblade, as it's similar costed, spammable (as in used repeatedly rather than chain casted), fairly far reaching, and it produces a hazard for opponents that they need to keep an eye on. It's slower but has an AoE and more damage. In summation, I like bubble.

Not much good for PVP but not completely useless either, you can cast it and keep pressuring your opponent until the bubble land a hit at some point or use it as a bomb trap for protecting yourself or buying some time.

Used this for Malenia's 1st phase, works pretty nicely and you basically learn the in's and out's of dodging her Waterfowl Dance

One of the stronger PVE spells, especially in open areas where you can cast multiple before aggro'ing an enemy. The Charged version does roughly the same damage as Cannon of Haima but uses half the FP. Has very high stagger damage too, so you can often instantly poise break by detonating 2-3 charged bubbles on a larger enemy. Quite similar to how Elden Stars is used, but less range and tracking is a bit worse
- Anonymous
I'm so glad the bubble spells are actually viable now. The tracking is alright, solid damage for it's FP, it's pretty much a slow Cannon of Haima
- Anonymous
It's an alright spell, you can send the bubble out and use another spell to hit the enemy you were targeting at the same time to "burst" them down, and hell if the enemy is far away enough you can send multiple of them out and just delete health bars when they all hit, It's pretty situational but not useless, I would say it's similar to the Flame of the Fell God in that they are both in a somewhat awkward position of being cool looking but ultimately niche.

why does a spell like this require arcane???
does it even scale with arcane???
Why doesn't this do holy damage like the bubble ash skills? It's basically the same vibe and we're already full up on magic damage options.

Can confirm this works with Godfrey Icon. Tested on NG+7 at Gatefront, did 1455 to a Godrick Soldier with icon on, then 1255 to the same soldier with icon off. Can supply video evidence if needed.

still needs to do more damage or move faster. Currently, it does as much damage as carian piercer for basically the same fp cost (16 vs 17), but piercer is infinitely more useable and situationally useful than this, and can be buffed by dual wielding staves

Scarab for this is not spawning, tried grace and quitting out. Seems bugged

How to effectively use this in pvp:
Bait or wait for the opponent to rush you from a distance, disengage auto lock and release straight at the ground in front of you.
Also the best way to use Giantsflame Take Thee, and Magma Shot.

Charged Great Oracular Bubble into Charged Night Comet w/ Godfrey Icon & Arrow's Reach Talisman. Lovely combo.

If you look closely you’ll see that this “bubble” is actually a single thread spinning incredibly fast.
- Anonymous
Uncharged moves faster and further than uncharged for some forsaken reason.

Was trying to think of build ideas I used this for entrapment on my strength mage it worked well for getting my meteorite weapons into them but I can't take a counter hit thanks to my split stats
If I want the albernauric staff it seems to scale the spell better but my stats :/

can do a lot of damage but the cast time is absurdly slow, even with radagon icon. expect to take a huge hit to the face if you try to use this during a boss fight
- Anonymous
I cant believe it but i killed 4 people in my first hour of pvp with this. Damage is good, explosion is quite big and they dont disappear if you cast 2nd and 3rd one, but its very easy to dodge and it doesnt track well. But who cares, its a bubble!
- Anonymous
Does this spell scale with arc or should I only use the minimum points?
- Anonymous
Goes faster the more dex you have. Godfrey bubble does outrageous damage. Does about as much damage as a moon spell for less fp. Bubble is love. Bubble is life.

This spell is underrated in PVE, it has almost as range as lorreta's greatbow and does more damage while costing less fp. I use this as most long range spell for indoor areas and some outdoor areas.
Glintstone Pebble = 343 damage = 49.00 damage per FP
Great Oracular bubble = 796 damage = 49.75 damage per FP (charged)
Tested on trolls south of Knight Bernahl's Warmaster's Shack

This sorcery will cause Silver Tear enemies in Nokstella to pause seemingly permanently upon hitting. Especially useful against the shielded ones, but may only work once per mob. Does not work on the large balls or the lightning-charged ones.
- Anonymous
PLEASE From make this and the other bubble sorcery viable in pve and pvp they look so cool. Guess I’ll stick to my holy bubble blowers for now :’(

If you want to play around with this, would recommend wearing the Silver Tear Mask as it gives you +8 Arcane, meaning you only need 10 Arcane.

Almost the same range as Loretta's Greatbow, very good damage for FP, etc. Probably worth the points in ARC.
It should have more range than Loretta's, in my opinion. Its windup and travel time are pretty brutal compensators. Give it a niche in the form of great range.
- Anonymous
Ironically a good spell; that just got a lot better after patch 1.04. Now if only we had a water element.
- Anonymous
Another great thing about this spell is that it is perfectly safe using it on edges as it will NOT make you fall off of one. Unlike other spells like Loretta's Greatbow where you moving is actually moving the position of your character and therefore being able to fall, Great Oracle Bubble's casting animation naturally moves you forward, which prevents you from falling off an edge. This is really useful against a mob that is under you and you have to try and get close to the edge in order for your projectiles to not hit the ground, something which Greatbow is infamous of.

I tried making this my main spell. While the range, tracking, and damage is good, its travel speed and more importantly dreadfully slow casting speed make it unplayable against bosses. You need something to hold aggro so you can shoot. So its situational useful I suppose. But it couldnt give me the arcane-based mage I hoped for.
- Anonymous
This thing might have a longer cast time and move slow but it is a literal homing nuke. In invasions if you can apply pressure with other spells or the PVE of the level then you can one shot lower vigor hosts and summons.
- Anonymous
Does this actually count as an invisibility spell that gets buffed by Staff of Loss? I guess it makes sense. It fits into the assassin mage playstyle.
- Anonymous
Does this get buffed by the Envoy Crown? Im tempted to run a bubble build

Great for the Wooper build. it's a shame aqua-tail (aspects of the crucible: tail) is an incantation

With the base arcane and high int, this bubble hits like a truck. It’s balanced by having a long cast time but great for pulling ads or getting the drop on people. Pretty long range but slow.

This BUBBLE so big and mysterious. The only one arcane magic. Why is it even here.... The faith arcane spel made up of blood fire ice rotten holy and dark power. The Mages have 2 bubbles....

i cant get the AOE to work but this spell is an absolute FP to Damage POWERHOUSE. If you can get guaranteed hits safely its the fastest way to farm high HP enemies and cheese bosses.
- Anonymous
I started using this recently. It's okay. Definitely hindered by it's long cast time so not very useful during rapid encounters. However, if you can find the space and timing to cast a fully charged orb the damage is devastating to smaller mobs and may knock down larger mobs. This is definitely a "bomb" in the sense that you won't be rapidly firing these off.
- Anonymous
The spell wasn't usable when I invaded. I would like to know why?
- Anonymous
Definitely worth the 8 points in Arcane IMHO. It is slightly more FP efficient than Glintstone Pebble in any scenario where you would need 3 or more casts of the latter, it has crazy long range, and a huge AoE. It's not meant to be used in the heat of combat of course, but if you have time to set up an ambush this spell can severely weaken or outright kill a lot of otherwise tricky enemies long before they manage to reach you.
- Anonymous
Has anyone looked at the damage the bubble spells do and how they scale? Like - are they weak because maybe they need deeper arcane stats to do better?
- Anonymous
Crazy dmg for its FP cost and decent explosion radius but its casting speed and the projectile speed are ridiculously slow. If you already have 18 arcane, it will be quite useful in some situations, but if you're raising arcane just so that you could use this spell, it's a pretty bad idea.

I spent nearly a full hour looking for this spell. Found it just to realize it's super duper bad. If you're reading this to look for help finding it, there's a few guides on youtube, but really I just wouldn't bother.
- Anonymous
My favourite spell to snipe. Sadly, it's very situational. You need to "feel" how far will it go and how big the explosion is. If placed correctly, it can wipe out a whole group of mobs. It's best to use as a sniping spell. I'm kinda biased to be honest so take what I say with a grain of salt.

In the river (not the city level), go to the fallen over pillar you walk along (ghost archer is on it) and take the waygate. This puts you on the same layer of river as the dragonkin solider. This spell is to the left in a little insert filled with zombies.

Found a good video showing where to get it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVVjckI6vFE

Has anyone actually found this spell yet? I've found the regular oracle bubbles.
The fact that is slow is a good thing for PvE because enemies dodge on cast, which means they will ignore the spell and get hit. Good damage, good tracking, quite nice posture damage and chargeable so it benefits from godfrey icon. Only downside is the arcane requirement.
