Great Jar's Arsenal raises maximum Equip Load by 19%.
Where to find Great-Jar's Arsenal in Elden Ring
Where to find Great-Jar's Arsenal:
- Reward for completing the The Great-Jar's challenge of defeating three NPC duelists in Dragonbarrow (northern Caelid). [Map link]
- You must kill all three NPC duelists in one life; dying will make it so you have to start from the first duelist again. You can access this area by coming up from Siofra Deep River Well in the underground.
- This area can also be accessed by climbing the roots above the large crystal at the bottom of the valley. However, this is most likely unintentional.
- Obtaining this talisman while playing online results in player's build being uploaded to the Elden Ring server to be used as randomized Knight of the Great Jar for other players.
- When you talk to the Great-Jar, he will only respond with "..."
- After talking to him, three red summon signs appear to summon three Knights of the Great-Jar.
- In two of the four corners of the "arena", there are narrow rock outcroppings. Crouching or blocking in these spots will often cause the NPCs to fall off of the cliff as they attack. This is especially useful when sequence-breaking into this area with a low-level character.
- Consider killing the closer of the two archer golems, as he will shoot arrows at you and disrupt your fights.
Elden Ring Great-Jar's Arsenal Notes & Tips
- Sell Value:
1,000
- Incompatible with Arsenal Charm.
- Patch 1.07 increases Armor's poise in general, so you no longer need this talisman to reach certain poise break point (such as Flame Dancer build etc.). You can switch it to other talismans to further boost your damage or protection, such as Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman.

Good luck to the next player who will face these duelists, i had a bloodhound step build when finishing the last guy.

How to make someone’s day: kill first two knights normally and then once you’re suuuper close to killing the third completely unequip everything and finish it off w/ your fists. Someone will be thrilled to get an easy fight among the plethora of Moonveil/Rob spammers

Why is it that the talisman that is supposed to lower your equip load weigh more than most talismans, it makes no sense lol

easy cheese: speak to great jar, activate the first red sign on the ground, start running away towards the colosseum, wait a moment until the challenger is spawned, then try to focus / lock on target -> wont work because the invis wall is in the way. Spells cant get through, just single attacks, second attack usually bounces off the wall.
you can either kill them slowly by baiting out an attack and counter, or walk to the left tree stump (when facing away from the colosseum) and make em face the gravity. Carefull at the stump as they can poke through!

I don't like how they've been toning down the rings from their og versions, would this really be too op if it increased equip load by 50% like it does in ds1

Cheesed it with nothing on but goldmasks robes and a flail. You’re welcome

Apologies in advance to anyone who ends up facing a guy with an Alabaster Lord's Sword.

the root shortcut from the giant crystal by the Evergaol no longer works, it was removed several patches ago. Maybe time to remove the part on this page where it says it's still viable.

I did everyone a favor and stopped at lv100 for this. Great shield duelist with Godskin Stitcher. Cleared everything easily without flasks, and I wish you all luck vs. this AI build :)
- Anonymous
Me when I'm cheesing the duelists to get this item but they get stuck in an infinite loop walking back and forth trying to get a parry: "What, are you broken? You are a Great Jar Knight! You kill who it tells you to kill!"
- Anonymous
Biggest waste of time if you don't absolutely need it for your build. You might as well come here at max level or use the offline trick. They overnerf your damage just to f with you. Not a fun experience- like most things in this game.
- Anonymous
Do this challenge offline. The default NPC duelists are less obnoxious to fight than the cheese builds real people use to clear this.
Also, if you're using the cliff cheese and they get stuck trying to path to you, drink a flask. It occasionally causes them to more directly run towards you.

Equip Shield Crash on a great shield. Go stand near the high cliff (left side when facing the Great Jar). Dodge the initial attack and position so that you can shove them off the cliff with Shield Crash. Rinse repeat, profit.

anyone able to confirm by now if and at what point ones build is added to the rooster? i cannot be the only one with a low level makeshift build defeating the challenge yet, the builds being shown clearly are end game material of cheesy and yet well balanced builds...would make no sense to me if all the regulars would get added too and i just don't see them

Why on earth are people fighting the golems on the way? You don't need to fight either of them. Narrow.

Once you realize fatrolling is viable in pvp... No, lemme start over. Once you have realized fatrolling is viable in pvp and you’d rather sacrifice medium roll and great jar talisman for crucible knot talisman... then you have achieved true enlightenment. Melee headshots are a thing, and they usually come from fast overhead attacks, jump attacks, running thrusts and ranged surprises such as stormblade. And stormblade true combos into stormblade after a headshot. By the way, I’m not joking, and I really do fatroll with 82 poise, hyper armor weapons and faith heals/buffs.

"This area can also be accessed by climbing the roots above the large crystal at the bottom of the valley. However, this is most likely unintentional."
you cannot climb on the root anymore to skip, they removed it

I wish vastly would stand for more than a 4% increase. Why can't we get another Havels Ring? Fast roll means destroyed fashion

The notes and tips for this mentions " a certain poise break point", in which way does your equip load relate to poise? This is the first time I've come across that term.
- Anonymous
So while everyone seemed to recommend doing this at lower levels to fight weaker NPCs, I honestly had a better time doing it at level 140. Mostly because fighting the NPCs is fun. Fighting the golems every time you die, however, gets real old real fast when you’re not strong enough to make quick work of them. At lvl 140 those golems were nothing to me, so getting back to the summon signs wasn’t a big deal. Got it on my 3rd or 4th run.
- Anonymous
Very bloody fun *sarcasm*
Killing 2 golems on every try, just to get oneshot by some shmuck tryhard build with Ekzykel's Breath and RoB at lvl60. Like, every R1 from those phantoms takes out 80% of my HP bar at 30 Vigor. Not to mention that any weapon art straight out oneshots you, while you need over 20+ hits to kill someone with 450 AR.
Very fun indeed.

Easy cheese is to stun lock them off the cliff to the right with carian piercer

Level 28 w/ Lordsworn's Straight Sword and Icon Shield (Great Shield). I was usually able to cheese two "online" guys off of the cliff but there was always one that had enough poise to withstand spamming. So I tried the offline mode and all three are susceptible to being staggered off. However, there's a guy with a thrusting sword that dealt a lot of damage and the nature of how it played made it hard to get to the edge of the cliff. So I tried just spamming throwing daggers. Bots dodge thrown items very well. But it ended up rolling off of the edge without me even hitting it once. Mission complete. Now I can enjoy the talisman whilst being a Sun Bro.

It’s insane that there’s no stake of Marika closer to the challenge. That run from the well site of grace is like seriously not fun
- Anonymous
The root pathway at the bottom of the valley has been patched, the roots above the crystal are gone. Please update

It's a little frustrating getting ape'd by one of them, but I love the fact that it is other players builds going into this. They easily could've made it just 3 generic NPC invaders, but actual player builds is so much better, IMHO.
- Anonymous
Just got nuked by an NPC casting Placidusax's Ruin when I tried this at level 65, so that's fun.
- Anonymous
Just did this online at level 120. First attempt success and no cheese. Just gave me 3 mainly melee builds like mine is and the AI wasn't great.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
I cheesed this by using the dragon scarlet rot breath. i hope the AI doesnt use this.
- Anonymous
Anyone want to hazard a guess the levels of the NPC's we face? I wonder if they're the exact same level as whoever they copied, or if they have more thrown on.

- Anonymous
A whip is very useful for taking on the offline champions as it cannot by guarded or parried against, while also staggering the champions every hit. I can't say the same for online but it is a safe option that worked for me.
- Anonymous
This challenge is very unfulfilling after level 80 as you will almost always be facing at least two builds out of the three that are somehow trying to exploit bleed.
Hemorrhage does far, far too much damage for how fast it accumulates, how slow it drains, and the fact it can be immediately reapplied. at 42 vigor with 25-30% resists we are talking about close to 25% of your health bar. Before even calculating the damage your taking from the strike
If Fromsoft wants hemorrhage to be an execution it needs to be much more difficult to proc than it is currently.
In this game, gear and attributes decide most fights before they start. In Dark Souls 3 clever gear and attributes could indeed confer advantage but as long as your opponents recognized what your tactics were going to be you had a fight on your hands
- Anonymous
At low level seek cheese. Most weapon arts and many spells will one shot leading to frustration from one mistake. super dumb and does not scale to level. at high level they are a joke. low to medium and they're stupid.
- Anonymous
I didnt know that if you beat them you get uploaded that is really cool

Hide on a small ledge in the very corner behind the jar and watch the invaders jump off the cliff to their deaths. Wiggle a bit to repath them if they get stuck.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Pushed them into the rocks one the left side and spinning strike'd the sobs to death with my scythe.
I was fed up with all the rob bs builds that continued to appear but I also didn't want to put the game on offline mode.
- Anonymous
Got really annoyed with it and just used a Greatshield and Vyke’s Spear. I assume bleed spears/thrusting swords would also work marvelously. Feel bad that people have to face that build now tho.
- Anonymous
They fell easily to powerstance bleed whips. Shame it stops after 3, I would have liked to fight more.
- Anonymous
Lol I was reading comments about how hard the npcs are so I came there prepared with Prelate's Inferno Crozier (collosal hammer) and just used its skill Prelate's charge to throw them off the cliff :D easy cheese in offline mode but I believe it should work online too. You can get the weapon on Mt. Gelmir or AoW in the Mountaintop of Giants. New players can collect Dectus medallion to get to the Altus Plateau and from there to Mt. Gelmir... Have fun!
- Anonymous
Hold up, your build gets 'uploaded' when you win, and can become someone's adversary?
...I wonder how good my phantom will be at parrying?
- Anonymous
This fight would feel much less frustrating with a Stake of Marika close by.
- Anonymous
As a shield & spear build, I was able to do it in a couple tries after getting Ash of War: Barricade Shield. it only lasts about 5 seconds at a time but it seems to raise block boost by 30 and you can get a greatshield and upgrade it to have more than 70 block boost. and it costs little FP so I could enjoy no stamina consumption while blocking and just stab'em while they attacked, back off for a moment to recharge or heal any chip damage and repeat.
sometimes human-build enemies get stuck in the loop of their weapon bouncing off the shield repeatedly and I think it's because their AI responds to the player attempting attack, which includes counter attack with thrusting weapon while blocking.
if you have a even better shield with above block 75, you can use Scholar's Shield sorcery which lasts much longer and also gives extra elemental negation.

Probably the most toxic moment so far in ER. No stake of marika, no grace site, getting sniped just riding there and actually have to quit the game just to get the one golem to de-aggro or get shot during a fight. Tips (as you approach the big jar). The one on the right is all heavy armor/attacks, he'll one shot you with his weapon art. I finally got tired of his crap and used rejection to knock him off the edge, he was perfect for that. Godslayer's greatsword weapon art for the other two. Beware the center one, he is the easiest to stun lock and take down, but if you drop your guard his dagger attack will break your poise fast. Got me once at 32 poise with heavy armor. One on the far left is mixed epee-spells, but he stunlocks too with heavy hits. Way too many tries to just gain an extra 4% carry load over the +1. The left and center adversaries seem too mobile to easily reject them off the edge, but I didn't try.
Nothing says "fair fight" like one of three opponents you have to defeat having like 10K HP. The reward is so great it might be worth it. Hard to cheese these opponents with Rotten Breath or the like, you would have to "proc" them like three or four times a piece if the one enemy is anything to go by.
With great rewards, come great sacrifice.

On first play through as a strength build, fire damage weapons weren’t cutting it and wound up dominating these bastards with the dragon halberds ice spin ash, I don’t think they can escape it
- Anonymous
So unfair genuinely. I’m unable to do anything when it’s dual ROB so. Such pitiful design
- Anonymous
Roots were removed in latest patch now you have to go thru siofra
- Anonymous
I had one guy in a crucible set just using his fists. Bless that absolute madman.
- Anonymous
If you're struggling getting past the OP meta build Jar Knights: switch to offline mode. I had no trouble defeating the three knights on my first play through, but now the red summons are bull goat double river or double hammer monstrosities. Offline, the basic guys are fair.

I can't believe they removed the roots for the shortcut. I used them on my first two playthroughs, but I can confirm it's gone now. They're probably going to find a way to stop the 3 summons from falling off the cliff too
Why are people linking build videos on random pages? These build guide videos mean nothing to virtually every single person possibly on this page and serve nothing more than to just bloat the page.

Was able to shove two of the fighters off the side of the cliff to the Great Jar's left. You could potentially get this really early if you manage to get all three that way.
- Anonymous
I don’t really get the Golem complaints, they stagger so easily. Just spam charge attacks at their legs.
- Anonymous
was able to beat this at low level by spamming giant hunt, the AI can't recover if timed properly
- Anonymous
i wish the NPC fighters/invaders followed the rules of the players. you jump and get hit, you take damage. any NPC jumps, it counts as a dodge and they're invincible. what trash.
- Anonymous
They've removed the roots coming out from the side of the cliff view so you can no longer get this early, you must go through the river

Night Comet is the absolute easiest way to complete this (as well as the most powerful tool for breezing through all of the Volcano Manor quests & any NPC invasions). It's in Sellia just on the other side of the cliffs, so it seems like a pretty clear suggestion, as they're also the source of spells like Eternal Darkness which is very PvP-focused.
With Night Comet, you just stand a little ways away and cast as soon as you can target lock as they summon in. Even without backing away, they usually won't even reach you before they die — because it's an invisibility spell so the AI doesn't input read and therefore won't ever dodge it. They will just directly approach you and tank every single hit to the face until they fall. If you're up against a bunch of Azur's-glass-cannon Sorcerers & naked-bleeding-katana meta builds… you might not even have to use a single flask to dispatch all 3.
Also, as of 1.04 they also fixed the bug with the spell, so firing off the charged version to start the fight doesn't even cost any extra FP, but significantly raises your damage on the initial cast. Then, just kick back and enjoy your +19% carrying capacity.
- Anonymous
Honestly? The npc ai is kinda doodoo. They always roll after getting hit instantly (like normal players) but it's always to the side. I had a night rider glaive on and I just did running r1 into a charged r2 and it kept working. Also the golems are easy. You don't have to fight both at the same time and they only have two attacks to do when youre at their feet, the stomp one being really easy to hit and run. Also, fellow full str flame of the red mane enjoyers? It is simply too free.
- Anonymous
If you're having trouble with the giant archers disrupting your fights, something I found useful was running straight through as best I could and then ducking behind the great jar before touching any red signs and briefly restarting the game - this de-aggroed them every time in my experience and was much faster than outright taking the time to deal with them.
- Anonymous
I found you don't have to fight the golems, certainly not the first one. Just try to ride past them without getting hit. The closest one to the jar will keep trying to hit you, but if you fight the invaders up at the top, the arrows are blocked by the hill.
I fought offline, as a heavy build the only invader that gave me issues was Mr. Pokey stick with the phalanx spell. Don't give him time to get his spells out, and watch out for his multiple quick melee attacks.
- Anonymous
For those looking for an easier cheese for this fight, Inescapable Frenzy incantation is your friend (https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Inescapable+Frenzy). Stand right by where they appear, cast the moment you can target them. They take a good second to start moving and you're almost guaranteed to grab them.
If your right hand weapon has a good critical first hit it's an instant kill. Inescapable Frenzy is utterly broken against NPC invaders like this. I took them all out without taking a single hit.

Got to love the popular builds being ALL CHEESE BUILDS. No fun allowed, only meta.

" This is especially useful when sequence-breaking into this area with a low-level character."
FFS. Please just STOP telling people wow to twink. All of those "helpful speedrunning tips" are used for twinking, primarily. The online is more of a shitshow than it's ever been.
Just stop.
The 2nd in my first three invaders was some guy dual-wielding Swords of Night and Flame, fml.
I didnt even get to fight him bc the 1st guy destroyed me lol
Once you summon your invaders, will you always get those three on retries? Or can you “re-roll” them?
- Anonymous
The fact that you have to fight those two giants EVERY ****ING TIME you want to attempt those NPC summons is pure AIDs. It takes so ****ing long to get to that point again. God damn why does From hate heavy builds so much
- Anonymous
Definitely fight them offline, no more nagakiba/rivers of blood/blood flies spam
- Anonymous
Can you combine this with either of the Dragoncrest (Great)Shield talismans? I mean, without faith, damage resistance is almost nonexistent. Have to use consumables and the AOW from the Caelid swamp boss' weapon.
- Anonymous
Kinda overrated ring I think i see it on almost every build. Consider bull goats talisman is better for poise on low endurance builds, like significantly below 20
- Anonymous
whoever decided to put those golem archers in the wings coupled with the garbage runback should be run over with a semi-truck
- Anonymous
As a side note, I'd recommend never killing all 3 summonable NPCs on your NG+ as they serve as really good dummies for testing PvP builds/weapons.
- Anonymous
Pretty much a best case scenario for using buff incantations. I stacked Golden Vow, Blessing's Boon, Dragonbolt Blessing, and Bloodflame Blade before every fight.
- Anonymous
Unequiping this talisman lowers my AR on all my weapons by a considerable amount. Anyone know what's going on? I'm not using the dancers talisman.
- Anonymous
So wait. If the description is right, and it only provides 16% increased equip load at higher Endurance, doesn't that make this *worse* than the Arsenal Charm+1's 17% bonus? Or do all the equip load talismans have a similarly reduced effect at higher END?
- Anonymous
Happy to report that the 16%-19% increase is wrong, in my testing (27 endurance to 41), it was giving me 19% extra equip load all the way through. The precise math would be slightly above or below 19%, but I imagine that is because the game only measures equip load to the nearest 1/10th. I was using Radagon's soreseal to give me 5 endurance which is worth noting but I also imagine that doesn't matter even a little bit. I also used the arsenal charm +1 as reference, which gave me a 17% increase with all tested levels as well.
Total equip load relative to stats and talismans
Endurance | Base | Arsenal charm +1 | Great Jar's Arsenal
27 | 74.1 | 86.7 | 88.1
28 | 75.2 | 88.0 | 89.5
29 | 76.4 | 89.4 | 90.9
30 | 77.6 | 90.8 | 92.4
31 | 78.9 | 92.3 | 93.9
32 | 80.2 | 93.8 | 95.4
33 | 81.6 | 95.3 | 96.9
34 | 82.8 | 96.8 | 98.5
35 | 84.1 | 98.4 | 100.1
36 | 85.4 | 100 | 101.7
37 | 86.8 | 101.5 | 103.3
38 | 88.1 | 103.1 | 104.9
39 | 89.5 | 104.7 | 106.5
40 | 90.9 | 106.4 | 108.2
41 | 92.3 | 108 | 109.8
Happy light rolling out there high endurance giga chads
- Anonymous
About the decrease: I have 40 endurance and with the talisman the Max Equip Load jumps from 90.9 to 108.2 which is quite exactly still 19%... maybe it was a bug or the decrease happens later?
- Anonymous
Seeing as this ends up going down to 16%, is the regular arsenal charm +1 not better in the end, as that appears to be 17% fixed, or does that same effect also apply to the regular charms?
Don't see a single character that looks below lvl 100 at lvl 65, they don't scale them to your level at all do they?
