Left half of a split medallion depicting the Haligtree.
Brandishing the medallion with both halves conjoined will activate the Grand Lift of Rold, granting access to a hidden path.
In other words, this secret medallion will guide the bearer to the land of Miquella's Haligtree.

Haligtree Secret Medallion (Left) can be used to operate Grand Lift of Rold to access the secret location Consecrated Snowfield. See Haligtree Secret Medallion (Right) for the other half.
In order to use it you must be at the bottom of the Grand Lift of Rold and switch actions from "Hoist Medallion" to "Hoist Secret Medallion". This will not work if you are at the top of the Lift.
Elden Ring Haligtree Secret Medallion (Left) Notes & Tips
- Latenna hints at the location of this medallion upon completing her questline.

"Latenna hints at the location of this medallion upon completing her questline" - You can't even finish Latenna's quest without having both halves of the medallion.
Someone should add that you may have to talk to Gideon before you're able to hoist the alternate medallion at Rold Lift.

I found it easier to reset this fight from the Castle Sol Main Gate site of grace (enter courtyard and go through the gap in the spikes to the left, then straight to the lift) as opposed to going through the room with the spectral knights every time. Avoids the repeat fights that you have to take if you go from the church.

Elden Ring is a hell of a game. Even the Wiki is too hard for some of these people.

For grand lift of Rold, you have to switch action (Left or right on the D pad or arrow keys) if you already have the secret medallions and the normal Rold medallion!
I was so confused-

This has the wrong lift listed. The Rold Lift is operated by using the Rold Medallion, which is acquired by progressing the story.

apparently if you grab this from castle sol before you grab the other half, that ******* Ensha tries to jump you all the same. when "great enemy felled" appeared after he took like 3 hits to kill, i just couldn't stop laughing

I am not big on cheating, but I definitely would have missed that had I not looked. I was about go off to Farum Azula, definitely easy to miss not going back to the lift...

This needs to mention that the area is in the Mountaintop of Giants.
I'm confused, this says the left half of the medallion is located in an area that is only accessible with both halves of the medallion. Do you warp here or something? The wiki says I need both left and right to access the lift to get to this area, but it also says that one of the items I need is inside the area I need to get to. Its like saying you need a key to unlock this room, but the key is already inside the room. Someone help please.

For the people asking… the Grand Lift of Rold can take you two different places depending on which medallion you use (can switch between them at will)

When I spoke to the wolf lady, she told me it was in Castle Sol, accessible through the Great Lift of Rold. But... but... the medallion activates the lift. So I'm screwed, basically?

I think this has the wrong lift listed, the grand lift of rold is operated by the rold medallion.

A skip was found to get into the Consecrated Snowfield without this, go to The Shack of Lofty and double jump with your horse off the cliff, you can then respawn at the checkpoint in Consecrated Snowfield.

If you happen to stumble across Albus before Gideon tells you anything about her location, and obtain the left half of the medallion, Gideon's dialogue won't go away. As someone trying to play this game without guidance as much as possible, this drove me almost insane, looking for half of the medallion I already had. I come here to find out the other half is in a zone I can't even get to yet. Thanks Gideon.

In order to use this at the Lift you need to switch actions with the D-pad

Weird that after you find her and she says she doesn’t know, that Gideon still tells you to go look for her. Smells like FS writing. God bless GRM for writing the rest of it.

Talked to the old guy at roundtable that will tell you about the shardbearers. He also will point you in the right direction to find Latenna. She is in the Lakeside Crystal Cave, west of the Laskyard Ruins.

You can get this after beating commander niall in castle sol, located in the northern part of the mountain tops of the giants area.

bought from a guy at the boilprawn shack for 1000 runes, just north of the scenic isle site of grace
For anyone still confused, the Dectus medallion can only be used for the grand lift of Dectus. The Rold medallion operates the grand lift of Rold, this lift. You recieve both halves from Melina. However, the Haligtree secret medallion can also be used at the grand lift of Rold. You receive the right half of the medallion from Albus in the village of the Albinaurics, and the left half from Commander Niall in Castle Sol. This takes you to a different, "secret" (hence the name), area.
