I don't know why, but I can't help but feel like these crowns were made to emulate George RR Martin himself...

I had a thought about why this crown's glintstone doesn't glow with the Erudition gesture, especially given how odd a number of its other unique features are: this crown was given to sorcerers whose scholarly achievements demanded recognition and merit in the form of a glintstone crown, but considering Raya Lucaria's attitude towards outsiders and pursuers of more...unorthodox sorcery that isn't sanctioned by the academy, they probably didn't exactly approve of having a bunch of academy graduates becoming dirty hippies backpacking across Europe and calling themselves their peers - after all, if you can become a master sorcerer just wandering abroad with the peasants and animals, what good is a grand academy? (which, pre-shattering, would have been a ludicrous drain on the country's non-military economy and would have to justify itself somehow.) All the same, sorcerers are a haughty bunch, and failure to furnish a graduate with their prize would have likely incited some outrage from a group of people who had literally just finished spending several years learning to murder people with their brains. The answer? Mock them with their own graduation cap.
The black glintstone used for this crown is noted in the Errant Sorceror Manchettes(gloves), which also feature the material, is simply unusually dull glintstone, deliberately carved and polished down to a blunt semi-sphere, as opposed to the other crowns jagged, ostentatious peaks, which are clearly natural formations of more brilliant glintstone. Based on Thops' commentary, "Bluntstone" is a popular academy insult for sorcerers perceived as untalented or dull-witted. The academy went far out of their way to specifically make a "bluntstone crown" for a conspectus that probably wasn't too popular with the general population. The blindfold was likely a jab at how any sorceror capable of graduating into a conspectus and then choosing to leave for the wilderness had to be blind, and the unusually poorly-groomed, unkempt head and facial hair depicted on the countenance may be a jab at the nomadic mages' perceived savagery and lack of hygiene - being able to keep your beard styled/trimmed and your hair neat was considered a mark of nobility and civilized culture in many older European societies. It's still a glintstone crown, and thus enchanted to bolster the mind (crucial for a sorcerer) and, in this case, confer additional physcial endurance/stamina for long, arduous journeys, making it simply too useful/valuable to take off. Even its statistical drawback involves compromising an aspect of the mind (FP), instead of the body! (HP/Stamina)
Aside from the lack of glow having the obvious insulting pun of "not being very bright", tie it all together and you have a symbolic way for the snobby Burger King snotbags of the academy to effectively force Hufflepuff house into wearing a sign on their heads saying "Hey everybody! I'm an unwashed, fat, blind, idiot!"
How rude.
Or fromsoft just forgot to make it glow lmao

i seen someone switching this with another crown what is the other crown

At some endurance levels the +2 extra endurance creates more carry weight available than this item weighs. Essentially with the penalty of the small FP decrease this is weightless extra poise and defense. Keep it in mind when planning a tight fit.

I use this and Vargram's set as my main armour. It fits quite well.

Pretty disappointing that the stone on the top doesn't light up when using the erudition emote like the rest of the crowns.

I personally consider this BiS and havnt taken it off since I picked it up. For a RL1 build its basically a free armour piece as the 2 Endurance offset its own weight, completely removes the helm from the weight equation.

FP decrease is a % decrease. Increases endurance and intelligence by 2 each, and decreases FP by 10%.
Seems to be a net positive until around 40 mind, where it becomes kinda useless (if you care about endurance). At 40 mind, your FP drops from 220 -> 198, about the same as if it was 36 mind effectively, cancelling out your 4 "free" levels from this headpiece.
For int builds that need points into endurance, would recommend this if you aren't near 40 mind.
