Kukri is a Consumable Item in Elden Ring. Most Consumables grant various effects such as restorative properties for recovering HP, removing certain negative status effects or applying temporary buffs and debuffs, while others can be thrown at enemies to deal damage.
A large knife used for throwing.
Its curved blade is sharp enough to slice flesh cleanly.
Throw at enemies to inflict damage and build up onset of blood loss.
This heavy throwing weapon is unsuitable for swift attacks, but is able to inflict heavy damage.
Where to find Kukri in Elden Ring
Shadow of the Erdtree
- Fort of Reprimand: x10. In the lower area, where you fight the Omenkiller. [See Shadow of the Erdtree Map] [Video Location]
- From the Rauh Ancient Ruins, West, go toward the double archway. There are different shadow enemies here, like shadow mage and shadow hound. Eliminate them as you go and go up the stairs to the right. You can pick up a 6x Kukri on the steps and Whiteflesh Mushroom from the enemies. [See Shadow of the Erdtree Map] [Video Location]
- Shadow Keep: Once you have lowered the water level, take the lift to the left of the Church District Entrance Site of Grace. Turn right, and head back. You will reach the wall and an opening on the left, continue forward until you reach the second building. Enter it and grab the item in the middle of the area. [Video Location]
Base Game
- Can be bought from the Nomadic Merchant at the eastern side of Weeping Peninsula, for 60 Runes. [Map Link] Video Location
- Liurnia of the Lakes: x6 can be looted off a corpse behind the Glintstone Dragon Smarag. [Map Link]
- Stormveil Castle. On a roof of the same building where the sitting Commoner gives you a Grace Mimic, north of the Commoner's location.
- Limgrave: North-east of the Church of Elleh, near a fire.
- Loot drop in a pack of 5x from Vulgar Militiamen.
Elden Ring Kukri Notes & Tips
- You can hold up to 30 Kukri.
- You can store up to 600 Kukri.
- Sell Value: 10 Runes
- Only bleed buildup is affected by the Arcane scaling, not physical damage.
- The throwing animation is slower than all other similarly thrown items.
- The projectile travels considerably farther than all other similarly thrown items.
- This is one of a handful of unexpected things whose range is increased from wearing the Arrow's Reach Talisman.
- The kukri does respectable bleed buildup and a bit of stance damage, making it a good option for bleed builds to keep pressure up on a boss that's hard to approach, though the slow throwing speed makes it harder to use.

They closed so much tight battles where I was with low health and too affraid to approach. Great item.
In a test I did, the Kukri applied Blood Loss faster than the Bloodbone Arrow (55): 4 shots for Kukri and 5 for the arrow. The enemy tested was a Troll from Stormveil Castle who, according to a table, has 229 resistance to bleeding, so we know that Kukri applies at least 57,25 Blood Loss.
The kukri is very useful when Malenia enters her second phase and uses the flower attack, you can shoot several kukris increasing your bloodloss.

Imagine taking out the "ri" from the name.
And throw it at Invaders, PvE enemies, or on Marika...
It shows them who they are.

As a melee warrior build, kukri and pots cover your ranged and aoe needs.

These are great for killing the teleporting beetles, it one hits them on a dex build, and for getting the last hit on bosses when you don't want to get too greedy and die at the last second. Took over a quarter of Draconic Tree Sentinel's health by just spamming these at him while he slowly walked forwards at me, randomly headshots him letting me throw more for an easy early bleed proc.

These are good against Mohg 2 (Lord of Blood). When you walk into the boss fight, throw 4-6 kukris at him for a free bleed and a likely UNO. Another 6-10 kukris (depending on timing) should give you another bleed proc. I like to time this to push him into TRES, then immediately use the horny jail shackles on him. 2nd phase don’t use these, standing = death.

They're helpful against Malenia in her second phase.
When she does her Aeonia Flower move you can use that time to yeet Kukri's at her and the time her flower mode takes is just enough to proc bleed. Giving you a nice bit of extra damage in a situation where you would otherwise be just standing there if you hadn't any ranged weapons at hand.

Wish we could have a kukri's as a weapon, curved sword of course.

No joke, these are the best hunting weapon in the game. They instantly proc bleed on wildlife and have a redonkulous travel distance that's pretty much just limited to lock-on. Simply throw at critters as you ride/walk past them and collect the materials.

They do reasonable damage and don't appear to arc at all, you can pretty much snipe with them, although they DO suffer damage fall off at range (doesn't apply to bleed effect). Only down side is the throw animation is slower than darts and locks you in place.

Fun to throw at magic nerds. All that book reading and staff waving can't save them when this comes flying at their cranium.

Aight lemme just toss these in a straight line

These are dead-ass overpowred. You can cheese a lot of bosses/enemies by spamming these.

Anyone know if this is considered pierce damage and would benefit from the counter attack damage boost? I wouldn't be surprised if it was just standard damage.

If you're primarily a melee user & find yourself occasionally wishing you had a ranged backup, look no further. These don't have the same range as a bow/crossbow, but considering that (1) as throwing weapons, they save you a weapon slot, equipment load, costs of upgrading, etc., (2) you can buy unlimited amounts from a very early-game merchant, (3) these have no stat requirement so anyone can use them, and (4) they ****ing SCALE with DEX/STR, these are actually incredible. No need to even craft these!!

Does the bleed build up also scale? If so is it only with ARC or with ARC, STR, and DEX? Would love to see some testing on that.

They updated the Kukri! Now scales with Arcane: Str A Dex S Arc C

The Vulgar Militia guys near the Beast Clergyman (where you drop off the deathroots) drop these by the ton, so a nice side effect of grinding is getting a ton of these. Very nice for STR/DEX builds and if you shoot casters fast enough these can easily disrupt spells. Surprise!

I had these on my quick select pouch ever since thinking they would help against Malenia (they didn't) and I ended up beating the final boss by throwing one at it's face. Common Kukri W

Kukri remains GOATed. Sometimes your character can not aim right below you with throwing knives and bows, but Kukris can be thrown straight down. Great for ladder and ledge campers, and good for telescope sniping too.

I kept spamming these things while my summon attacked the boss in the Gael tunnels.

Am I trippin' or did the speed at which these can be thrown take a hit with the update? I swear they were as quick as darts when I first started using them but now there's a slight delay. It also seems like all projectiles have had an effective range reduction. I'll see them "hit" the target but do 0 damage. Idk if it matters but I'm on a Series X.

Does anyone know if this is a craftable item? Intuition says no, but I want to make sure

Everyone should have this equiped. It takes care of those pesky mobs stuck on walls and ceilings. Much faster and easier to use than bows, hits like a truck on trash mobs and could even finish off bosses in dire situations.

No real drop when thrown so its great for taking out faraway weak enemies and lure a single enemy out for a 1v1

You can buy an infinite amount from the merchant in Castle Morne Rampart. Super cheap too.

These are great for pvp. This will knock people out of most of their broken dragonhead spells. It probably stops them from casting other spells too, but can't confirm. Either way, one of the best items for pvp.

Always stock up on these, near the end of boss fights when it's low on HP and you are out of flasks, these can eke out a win.

These things have saved my ass many times in a boss fight. Perfect for when there's an opening but you're just slightly too far away to get a melee hit in.

But can you increase the max carry amount? I can't find an answer anywhere

Anyone know what materials I need to craft these? Or bleed daggers in general?

Throwing Knives : 91 dmg
Kukri : ~218 dmg
Tested at 45 DEX on those big giants

Extremely effective against Godrick if you're able to get another player to aggro him for a bit, threw 5 and did a little over 2000 bleed damage, and each individual one did around 150 with 19 dex and 24 strength.
- Anonymous
Anyone else notice how much damage these things do? With a strength build I can kill lesser enemies with just one, so i can only imagine what they xan do on a dex or quality build. I haven't found a bow that scales well with strength yet but when throwing weapons are this good and still have no weight I'm not worried about it. They build up bleed too so why not throw some at bosses?

Tip: throw them when a boss is at 1 hp.
