Lordsworn's Straight Sword is a Straight Sword in Elden Ring. The Lordsworn's Straight Sword scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity and is a good Weapon for strong melee combat. With Square Off, characters with this sword will have. chance to deal an upwards slash through enemy guards.

Well-crafted straight sword with an illustrious design, wielded by regulars of a lord's army.

Though blackened and damaged by years of use, it appears to have otherwise been kept in a servicable condition, despite the soldiers having long since lost their minds.

Where to Find Lordsworn's Straight Sword in Elden Ring

The Lordsworn's Straight Sword weapon can be found at the following location:

May be dropped by Godrick Soldier in Gatefront Ruins.
Can be dropped by the headless, undead Soldier at Fourth Church of Marika. [Map Link]
The earliest and easiest grinding spot for this is the Gatefront Ruins, not just for this sword, but all of the weapons that the soldiers use excluding their spear.

Weapon Skill: Square Off
This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War.
Lordsworn's Straight Sword can be upgraded by using Smithing Stones
Sell Value: 100
Base drop rate is 2% (at 100 Discovery)
Has the same weight and similar scaling to the Longsword, but is superior in terms of base damage, range, and higher critical damage. However, because of its lower scaling, the Longsword will begin to overtake it in damage at around mid-game where you can more easily increase your damage stats, with the exception of the Keen infusion which will match the Longsword up to around level 50 dexterity. Because of this, the Longsword is a considerable replacement once your damage stats begin reaching the 30-40s if you value the extra damage over the increased critical modifier and slightly extra range.
NOTE: As of Patch 1.08, Straight Swords poise damage has been reduced only on PVP.
NOTE: As of Patch 1.09, the scaling values of this weapon were changed. Please refer to the Upgrades Table of this weapon below. Additionally, the running attack speed, first attack speed and speed of guard counter of straight sword has increased. The attack recovery time has also decreased.

  Why is the crossguard and grip so much bigger than the longsword, yet the blade length (at least visually) is the exact same? I really feel like this was supposed to be longer at one point, but From were spooked SS would be too strong again so they shrunk it down.

  My go-to backup weapon, and more than capable as a main weapon as well. Light, low requirements, critical modifier, poke attacks and looks amazing. Can be buffed or infused with anything. Square off is one of the very best Ashes of War as well.

  In DS3, the Lothric Straight Sword was s tier. This is essentially that weapon. Of course it's not the lowkey SS tier of another straight sword but if you're doing faith builds in other souls games, you already know which sword that is. Funny thing is most people are clueless.

  Great moveset with a piercing heavy on demand, when powerstanced it's a blender where it just plays around animation reading
  Not the best scaling, but can easily carry you through the whole game and a solid place to put your upgrade materials on
  And on top of that they look gorgeous in the straight sword category

  One of the most reliable early game straight swords in circulation.
  Respectable damage even in end game, great for power stancing quality straight swords, and practically a mandatory melee weapon for pure intelligence - faith builds for saving MP against trash mobs, until high level enough for the big bois. (Dark moon Greatsword and Blasphemous Blade)

  This weapon on a faith build is like The Little Engine That Could. Put Sacred Blade on this and you'll be destroying undead in no time. The best part is that there's no investment required because the Prophet's base stats cover it. It's like Miyazaki knew that faith users were using the Balder Side Sword and the Lothric Knight Sword so he decided to give us a boost.

  Been using two of these for my Banished Knight build. The scarlet sheaths match the undertones on the set, and the moveset is very close to the infamous dual greatsword knight in Castle Sol, since in his hands the BKGS is a straight sword, not a greatsword. It also fits roleplay-wise, like a Banished Knight who has found a proper lord and has come back to the Lands Between to conquer them.

  This is perhaps the only weapon in the game with perfectly identical scaling in both strength and dexterity, uninfused. Even the longsword and claymore, long-considered the very images of the quality build, much more heavily favor strength than dexterity with no affinity applied. Quality affinity will be worse than standard until they tie at 28/28, 400 AR; this is markedly less than the returns you'd get putting those points in a single stat and using the heavy / keen affinity however. Overall this sword (like virtually all infusible weapons in the game) should be given an affinity to match your attributes, not the other way around; its relatively high base damage lets it keep pace with Longsword despite its lesser scalings. (People see the 110 crit and assume this is the new LKS, but it is not especially dex-inclined and does not have any different moves than the Longsword.)

  Doing a sword & board run with the default aow is super effective, especially with talismans that increase guard counters and criticals when regarding the extra 10 critical bonus. I find it keeps a good balance between offence and defence throughout my current build. Roleplaying as a "basic" knight is really fun, surprisingly enough!

  Just had to farm for 2 of these to power stance, and got lucky in the span of about 20 minutes killing the nobles northwest of the Debate Parlor grace in Raya Lucaria Academy with Grace of Gold. I wasn't sure if I'd find them at all with how people talk about them, but I think I got lucky. I was all ready to use the Memory of grace as soon as they were dead to save on travel time too, then got the second one on my first run with it on my bar.

  This has the exact same base damage as Uchigatana but with worse scaling, shorter reach and no bleed, but I still prefer this because the 1 handed straight sword moveset feels so much better than the katana moveset and Square Off knocks away shields allowing for a critical hit while Unsheathe doesn't

  I dual wield two of these, one inflicts Frostbite and the other inflicts Bleed. Works amazingly, it's super reliable, and it some form of this setup been carrying me through the game since the beginning. By the time one status finishes building up the other isn't far behind, making it fun on bosses and enemies with large health bars to see both take big chunks out of an enemy's health one after another.
  
  Additionally, while I can't speak towards PvP, for the myriad NPC invades it puts in work, and the first time one of the statuses finishes building I've seen it take out as much as 50% of their healthbar.
  
  For times when I do need a shield, I generally keep the Blue Kite Shield or Buckler as a backup to take the place of one of the swords.

  So I'm sitting at 60 in all my stats & due to scaling cold does the most damage & then if you apply the frost its even more wtf. 622 combined physical & magic.
  
  I'll probably side this with a either fire/parry dagger to spam frostbite or an ok bleed straight sword to power stance, though bleed seems to be on the bad side for straight swords, so maybe a shield bash with blood could be fun..

  This sword with Flame of The Remanes ash of war trivializes a good portion of the game.
  
  If you seen the silly Redmane Misericode stagger chains, just think about how nice it is to have a 110 crit straight sword with none of the dagger downsides for casual play.
  
  Redmane's for tough enemies and bosses, R1 spam for crowds and lesser enemies.
  
  Couple this with whatever infusion you want, because Redmane's posture damage is based on weapon level, not damage scaling, and you can play around with it in any build.
  
  All this for the low-low price of 10/10.

  Lvl 223, using this sword occult infused with seppuku in the left hand and noble's slender sword bleed infused with BHS. Breezed through NG+5 faster than ever before. Plus those two shred in PVP because of insane bleed buildup on each sword, one PS strike = bleed explosion.

  Dual wielding Lordsworn's Cold Straight Sword is an absolutely monster in both PVE and PVP. It hits faster than dual katanas, and be able to apply frostbite very quickly. It's so good that you don't have to rely on weapon skill like some other weapon does. I use this weapon to help people who are struggling with Malenia, and it gets the job done every time.

  really ****ing hate just how much points you gotta invest into both str and dex to make a quality weapon stronger than the standard affinity. +7 of this gives 27 less damage and the base damage isn't exactly really high. With how important VIT is a quality build is complete at the game's final stretch.
  
  Meanwhile a strength affinity becomes stronger than standard as soon as you reach siofra / beat margit.

  My level 50 faith build loves this sword for close shield combat, with the Sacred Blade ashes and upgraded to +15 it has faith C scaling and does a combined holy + physical damage of ~400.

  It hits hard enough that a bigger weapon isn't necessarily going to kill in fewer hits than this, yet fast enough that this will often kill faster than bigger weapons. It also hits hard enough and fast enough to cause enemies to flinch instead of striking back and it happens enough that usually the enemy will die well before they can have a chance to hit back. And due to the scaling that Ashes of War can do, it's pretty easy to two-hand this for the +50% strength bonus without having to heavily invest in strength for stat scaling. This means having a hard-hitting weapon with two-hands while saving a lot of stat points you can put into something else like vigor or endurance. Or maybe faith for the buffs and such. Also, with the bosses that like to run away, high dex balanced by two-handing would work very well with this weapon or the normal longsword because you can gain a boost to archery and use that for poison, bleed, and sleep to deal with such annoyances.

  It literally infuriates me this weapon does the same critical amount as most of the daggers for seemingly no reason. Not that i don't want non daggers to have critical its just annoying its this one as even a few of the daggers dont get any bonus but this one inexplicably does. Executioners axe had to be specifically made for execution damage but this? Ya, this one just gets it. Ignore me I'm just seething fr fr

  Seriously, why is this weapon so OP ? I am literally struggling to find a better weapon suited for my Dex/Arc/Int build. Just put a bleed or magic scaling onto it and it oneshot everything.

  can someone explain how this isn't considered better than the longsword? I mean it has both a higher base damage and higher crit modifier than longsword and basically the same scaling as well

  It's so unassuming, and my build gradually went from sword and board confessor, to powerstancing two of these with bleed on. at the moment, i'm 40/45 dex and arc, +23/25 weapons and these things absolutely shred anything that can bleed. Standard 5 hit combo = 6k damage. Plus way more poise damage than a Katana, and bleed procs on 1 or 2 hits depending on the enemy. Higher than average crit rate and anything resistant to slash damage/slightly tankier can be staggered relatively reliably with Bloody Strike so that's that angle covered.
  
  In NG+ i plan to swap them out for 2x of a boss/unique sword, however for now, these things are reliable af. Bout to go fight the last optional boss of the game and I've used these two swords for literally every prior boss. So there's like 2 i havent killed with them lol

  Old reliable for a fast strength build. Does good damage in early game and has high potential for proccing bleed or frostbite in late game

  Cold +25 makes this weapon a nightmare for almost all the enemies in the game. I humiliated Malenia with this weapon, of course it does little damage for hit and unbalances little the enemies for riposte, but consumes little stamina for hit and is very fast to hit, and weighs very little, in combo with the great golden shield and heavy armor, you are not so far from being a god in the game.
  
  Also, if you use powerstance with another with Blood+25, well, it's like you're using cheat ahahaha

  This is a nice, solid, feel-good weapon for the early game. It has speedy attacks, an equally speedy guard-counter in the form of a wide swipe, is capable of lunge attacks if you need a teeny bit of extra range, seems to do solid poise damage for guard breaks, coupled with 110 crit for your front or backstabbing needs, and the bonus of not requiring any stats whatsoever to use. Not bad at all.

  I used these powerstanced against the fire giant at +18 blood and they feel good. The damage is bit yikes, but the movement fluidity feels so good after powerstancing banished knight swords for so long. I had bloodhound step on them as well.

  Square off is surprisingly really powerful, it can make short work of most bosses in the Early Game (a good example being Tree Sentinel).

  Does more poise/stamina damage than uchi. I can regularly charge up an R2 poke and put some enemies into stagger for follow up crit attack. Guard counter has longer range than Uchi it feels also. This is a good all around weapon. I put frost on mine and the quick enough swings means I can apply frost status quickly which I believe does it's own stamina damage whne it goes off (noticed this when farming in Fort Farroth). Does not stand up to the damage some other weapons get but the HEFT of it seems like it DOES affect how well it staggers vs the uchi.

  Running with quality build, but even at 50Str/50Dex +17 Longsword it doesn't seem worth it in comparison to previous games? I don't see that much of a damage boost from adding Dex. Looks like Heavy 56Str with Vig and End is overall better than dumping stats in Dex for Quality.

  Lordsworn Straightswords can be dropped by any man-at-arms type enemy swordsman, regardless of faction (Godrick, Leyndell, etc), so someone should update the "where to find" list.

  This basically is the closest thing you'll get to the lothric knight straight sword. Too bad it isn't always a poke after the 2nd heavy attack but the 110 critical modifier and the look is the closest you'll get to the LKSS in my opinion.

  After 120 hours as a Wretch, this sword was one of the few weapons i found at the beginning of the game, it is still my main weapon to deal with majority of enemies and bosses. Seriously, this sword and Square-Off are extremely strong.

  It’s dropped by all the guards at the start of the game, I think. I get it a lot. Especially on Prophet so whatever arcane he has.

  I got one of these in the Gate front Ruins. I keep thinking I'll eventually upgrade to something new and shiny, but other than using a mace for a few things weak to blunt damage, I'm still using it at level 80.
  It might be the best general-purpose weapon in the game- great moveset, good damage, good critical, works well with basically any infusion you care to throw on it. And it even looks nice!

  For people who are playing Elden Ring as their first Soulslike, I highly recommend this weapon. Good stats, (relatively) easy to get and and a good moveset. It's very beginner-friendly and will take care of you while you're learning the ropes. Then when you're more comfortable with the game you can branch out into other weapons.
