Meteoric Ore Blade is a Katana in Elden Ring. The Meteoric Ore Blade scales primarily with Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence and is a good Weapon for dealing melee Slash and Pierce damage in combat. Its accompanying unique skill can also allow the user to thrust their weapon into the ground to create a gravity well to pull in enemies and damage them in the process.
Katana forged from meteoric ore to dispatch lifeforms born of falling stars.
Deals magic damage.
The blade is weighty, known to deliver slashes of such ferocity that the impact is said to resemble the crash of a falling meteor.
Where to Find Meteoric Ore Blade in Elden Ring

- Caelid Waypoint Ruins: Found inside a chest in a small room at the back of an underground hall filled with sarcophagi and Lesser Kindred of Rot (Pests) enemies. The entrance to the area is found in the northwest section of the ruins. [Elden Ring Map here]

The weapon skill isn't valued enough for this specific weapon. A bonus would be nice, but pulling your enemies towards this monster of a katana is good enough.
Why should I care about meta when I drink sake and stop hesitation?
- Anonymous
haven't tested in pvp but double rupture tear into l2 is a nasty inescapable killer in any pve area at the cost of ~700 hp which you can offset in a lot of ways, just make sure the enemy can be pulled and your pvp opponent has glaucoma so they don't see it coming
- Anonymous
1- this deserves better than a mediocre l2 that anyone with enough brain matter to justify their head being on their shoulder can see coming and 2 - this should absolutely do extra damage to elden beast considering its also a lifeform sent to earth on a (golden) falling star
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
The Ash of War should've also given this thing 1: a Cragblade effect increasing attack power and poise damage, and 2: a follow-up attack like that of Earthshaker, Waves of Darkness and Golden Land.

I've been looking at motion value and poise damage value spreadsheets, and it seems that the comment about higher poise damage value on the charge R2 is either A. false, or B. wrong on every single spreadsheet i've looked at. Would love some confirmation on this

If you wanted a run with alabaster lord’s sword and was disappointed… This is the armament for you! So much fun. Obtainable via a start of game suicide grocery run in Caelid which by now I’m sure everyone does instinctively.

Never thought I'd see the day, but they actually made a based katana. What strange times we live in
- Anonymous
The fact the charged R2 feels like a true combo with gravitas really sold this weapon for me. ICHIMONJI

Just did a casual speedrun with this, all remembrances in under 7 hrs. Its good, the charged attack is nice, just the ash of war was not helpful for bosses

18 int for this weapon and meteor staff, greatest 9 stat points I ever invested
- Anonymous
So many comments about the poise/stance stats for this weapon and no one actually testing?
The fully charged R2 seems to deal 30 stance damage, the same as Unsheathe, Lion's Claw and the Square Off light attack.
3x fully charged R2 vs Tree Sentinel (80 poise)
3x fully charged R2 vs Tibia Mariner (80 poise)
4x fully charged R2 vs Erdtree Avatar (120 poise)
The only weird thing is that with the Stonebarb tear it increase this stance damage by 30% which would make the Meteoric Ore Blade fully charged R2 deal 39 stance damage. However it only took 3 fully charged R2 to stance break the Erdtree Avatar (which would give 39 x 3 = 117 stance damage, 3 short). Is it rounded up maybe, or something else is going on with poise stacking with this weapon.

According to the AR calculator at tarnished dot dev, at max attributes and refinement, the Meteoric Ore Blade is the single highest DPS weapon in all the Lands Between.

Shame that the only Katana with an aptitude for strength is also un-buffable and cannot be infused.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Unique for being the only katana in Elden Ring to scale more with STR than DEX. Ironic that is also an INT weapon.
- Anonymous
Identical base damage to Rosus' Axe, but lower scaling for every attribute. Longer, but heavier. Innate bleed. Both have pretty mediocre ashes of war, but Gravitas is handy for stormhawks and bats, and can hilariously yoink an enemy player off a ledge to their deaths, so, i guess my ultimate point is if you like one, try the other, but MOB is probably the better weapon overall despite the lower damage.

K, so i'm trying to figure out how are these people convinced that the r2 isnt as poise-breaking as other katanas's r2, despite in-field testing giving me the results of putting some greathammers to shame. Then it hit me. Maybe it is true that r2 doesn't have a special poise-break value, but all attacks done with this weapon has it since it deals gravity damage. Stunlocked the hell out of fallingstar beast with some r1 and even interrupted the charged attack with a timed r2.
So yeah, it looks like the r2 breaks more poise than other katanas because it's easier to land and is way more consistent in it's hitbox, but in truth ALL attacks have the poise-breaking trait because each hit has gravity damage behind, similar to the wing of astel.

One of the few only non-hammer "slamming your weapon on the ground" attacks I really like, because it doesn't look like "my weapon is too heavy for me to wield properly", it looks like a unique and controlled and deliberate technique where you swing with so much force that your weapon bounces off the ground intentionally, made possible by the unique absurd (fantasy-level) durability of the sword. The damage MV is a little lower than other Katana R2s and the poise damage is exactly the same, but at least the distance covered by the charged up R2 seems a little extra long (haven't actually tested but it feels long). Although the sword itself is very short for a Katana... but at least its DPS is very high for a Katana (at both low and high Strength investment, because it has very high base stats) and its damage type is more versatile than usual because the mixed-in Magic helps make up for the letdowns of Slash type damage (vs "hard" enemies).

The AR Calculator at tarnished.dev recently got DPS Calculation as a feature. I'm currently running a build with 49/14/20 STR/INT/DEX, centered around the Carian Knight Sword and Crystal Sword (it's a for-fun build), and the AR calculator claims that the best DPS weapon for single-wielding with my build (across all weapons and infusions) is... the Meteoric Ore Blade. Meanwhile the best weapons for dual wielding in my build are apparently the Bandit's Fire Curved Sword or Fire Venomous Fang, but those are only a tiny bit ahead of the Crystal Sword which is one of the weapons I was building around (and is a legit damage weapon if you build for it). Anyway I'm gonna grab this weapon as an alternate option in my build.

Basically an early game super power weapon. Suicide run is required to get it, but it's quite easy with a bit of practice.
Mages in the early using this katana and Meteor Staff can easily be carried until they get a stronger weapon: use the Ore Blade to kill weaker enemies to conserve your magic for bosses and stronger enemies.
- Anonymous
Pros:
High AR, good strength scaling so viable to two hand instead of power stance like most katanas.
Unique R2 often catches people off-guard
Cons:
Low range
Somewhat heavy
Ash of war is meh, really wish they would’ve given this thing a unique ash of war, then it may of been my favorite weapon in ER
- Anonymous
People really still think this thing does extra poise damage huh? Funny what some colorful wording can cause.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great weapon and the R2s are fantastic but they deal exactly the same amount of poise damage as typical katanas/straight swords/etc.
If you still want to believe otherwise, I recommend actually opening up the game and comparing charged R2s between this, an uchi, and a longsword.
- Anonymous
how does this weigh more than a nagakiba? i get its made out of rocks, but it can't be heavier than a sword triple its length

with 25 str and 41-50 int this weapon still has pretty insane AR for a katana. Can be fun with cold wakizashi off hand or shield for some magic knight buids. Only really beaten by magic greatswords, which i guess is no surprise.

"Charged r2 on this weapon deals a lot of poise damage, useful for bosses that you can poise break."
Why is this added here?
It's not untrue, but it's kinda misleading. This Katana does the same amount of poise-damage as any other Katana.
It's like saying "using R1 is great for dealing damage"
- Anonymous
Any testing on the Gravitas skill scaling with INT? Curious as to how it does at say, 50 vs 80. Trying to decide if I want to go max STR or INT. Once I get to the academy again I’ll respec and report if not.

I'm a strength user with 70 points in str and 20-ish points in int to weild a +10 ruins greatsword, wich effectively leaves nothing but ruins behind the areas a go through. Been trying this meteoric ore blade out of curiosity of a katana scaling well with strength and made it to +8.
Just let me tell you something: the ONLY con it has in comparison to the ruins greatsword is 10-ish less poise damage on hits. Similar damage, faster, bleed aux, skull-crushing r2, decent block stability, gravitas... uncanny to build, but damn worth investing.

I think the hilts are like rapiers because they're created by nobles rather than Land of Reeds. Weapons like Eleanor's Poleblade came from the Land of Reeds as is evident by their hilt.
- Anonymous
Notice how the weapon has bloodstones like Alberich's Set. It's as though the weapon is a blunt object that draws blood from enemies by use of the stones. This makes sense because it's like Dark Soul's Berserker or Black Blade which is a poisebreaking katana. I've never noticed a weapon have lore like that. This makes it one of the coolest weapons in the game. I think the hilts are like rapiers because they're created by Western nobles rather than Land of Reeds. Weapons like Eleanor's Poleblade came from the Land of Reeds as is evident by their hilt.

If you are hesitant to use this weapon, here are my reasons for using it:
1. looks sick as ****
2. ICHIMONJI
3. Gravitas is great (I'm invading and am 1v2 most of the time)
4. reminds me of Black Blade, which is great if you liked that weapon in DSIII
5. great moveset
6. this is not Moonveil bro. It's shorter, heavier, the scaling is more str focused, and the special is "worse". you don't have to feel like a metaslave when you use this
7. and most importantly this looks sick as ****

I’ve started trying to complete a no death run and this is my weapon of choice. It gets insane value from godrick’s rune being active, since it scales with str dex and intel.
I’ve noticed some people pointing out that R2s don’t do more poise damage than other katanas, but fully charged one’s definitely do, since it takes two to poise break giant golem enemies, while Uchigatana has to do 2heavy+2light attacks. Would love if someone with an enemy poise meter addon could give us exact values.
Also, the second fully charged r2 seem to be charging up much faster than other katanas

Really good option against Rennala for people who invested heavily into sorceries.
- Anonymous
On the shorter side for a Katana, but the r2 attack (Ichimonji, for the Sekiro stans) has a built-in forward step that helps make up for it.
That’s really the selling point of this weapon: the r2 hits fast, tracks excellently, and combos great with its AoW. Not necessarily the best Katana, but definitely the best Strength option for the weapon class.

This thing is way more annoying than rivers of blood or moonveil. Purely because of the r2s. Absolutely irritating. Thankfully the rest of its moveset is generic katana. This is a pretty strong weapon when used by someone competent. Most people who pick up this are either glass cannon mages with like 700 hp or carian knight cosplayers who offhand it with moonveil. Like i said, annoying but not hard to deal with most of the time.

Can someone fix the page to say “lesser kindred of rot” instead of “prawn miner”. Funny though it may be, newcomers could get confused

Even if it was at the cost of innate bleed, I wish this thing did strike damage to really set it apart from other katana

an idea for an ash of war for this,
yknow that spiraling and flying attack radahn has? maybe something like that
you jump up prepare your blade then fall down in a flurry of spiraling slashes around you, it would fit with the description even more, then of course all of radahns gravity magic would have a AOW or spell counterpart
- Anonymous
An easy fix to the Meteoric Ore Blade, Serpentbone Blade and Dragonscale Blade Katanas would be to increase the Meteoric Ore Blade Katana's scaling to B Str, E Dex and B Int, making it the Strength equivalent of the Moonveil Katana.
What I would do with the Serpentbone Blade katana is to make it buffable with grease or incantations(Similar to Bloodhound fang or Treespear), giving you the option to get bleed from Bloodflame Blade or more poison build up from Poison Armamanent.
What I would do with the Dragonscale Blade Katana is give it a passive frostbite of 50, making it more viable without using its Ash of War. The last thing I would do is change the Ash of War. It's simply not a good AOW to use as a weapon buff. What I had in mind would be to give it a AOW duplicate like some of the other Katanas have, like moonveil having a better version of unsheathe and ROA having a better version of Double Slash. So my idea would be to give it a better version of Piercing Fang(Nagakiba's AOW), and what I would change about it would be to make the blade call down a bolt of ice lightning into the blade whilst holding the weapon horizontally similar to Piercing Fang, and when thrusting, bringing down the bolt of ice lightning upon a foe like the ash of war it already has, giving the 130 flat lightning damage and 30 frostbite build up instead of 80, since it already has the passive 50 frostbite.
By making these changes, It would make them more likely to be used and be able to hold their end against the Moonveil and Rivers of Blood Katanas.

Probably my favorite weapon on my Str/Int build next to the Ruins GS. This thing is just so well rounded and does reliable damage. Nothing too flashy, but the R2’s are really nice for catching people when you mix up the timing
After doing a recent deep dive into poise, I had someone ask about the poise damage of this weapon and think the community might be a little mislead by some of the notes and discussion here (just search "poise" in the comments and you'll find specific praise for it). I think the note about having good poise damage with its charged attacks after mention of a special heavy attack compared to other katanas might be confusing some readers.
This weapon's poise damage is identical to other Katanas, which is also identical to most Straight Swords, Axes, Spears, Fist Weapons, Curved Swords and Twinblades (there are a few outliers in some of these classes but it's all mostly the same). That is to say, two 2-handed charged attacks from any of these weapons can break the stance of enemies like Banished Knights, Grave Warden Duelists, Tougher Misbegotten, Onyx Lords, Perfumers, Cleanrot Knights, etc. It's good to know about your weapon's ability to do this sort of thing, but there's nothing special about this particular weapon's poise damage. The page doesn't outright say it's better, but that seems to be the impression a lot are taking away.

Although it's pretty average in length, I might even say that it's big (actually quite huge), I still wished it was bigger, because when I dual wield it with another katana you can clearly see the size disparity.

What are some good talismans if I wanna main this?
I figure axe talisman and crit stuff may be good but I'm no expert.
I'm not huge on katanas being these nimble dexterity/agility/whatever weapons in video games considering every single move they do irl with them is some variation on a barbarian chop (with the rare stab). Finally we get a strength katana and it rocks!

idc if this is worse than rob or moonveil or normal katanas with cold/blood/occult builds this one just looks the coolest

Pretty fun pure str katana. AR wise, it's competitive at minimum requirements with heavy uchi/naga, but lacks their range and flexibility. Losing the heavy katana poke may seem bad, but you just need to use running heavies to poke instead. The aow can hit hard if you're close enough to land the actual ground stab.
For solid damage, get str to 54 (for 2 hand) or 80 before leveling int beyond the minimum.

Tower of Frenzy, go to the second-from-top level. Stay in the shade, do two or three gravitas slams to kill the zombies up top who are keeping the flame alive. Problem solved.

The servants of rot in the underground tomb where this sword is are not the same as the others patrolling the roads in Caelid or Sellia Crystal Tunnel and they seem to be to be a lot more vulnerable to fire, they died a lot quicker than the other type of pest.

Best katana in the game.
-Doesn't require levelling DEX
-Greatsword damage with katana speed
-R2s look incredibly stylish and poise break everything in existence on top of being fast
-Ash of war is great against annoying flying enemies and pseudo combos into the R2
