Mohgwyn Palace is a Location in Elden Ring. The Mohgwyn Palace region is found beneath Caelid, but is only accessible from a gateway teleporter in the frozen west of Consecrated Snowfield (northwest of the Yelough Anix Ruins and west of where the Sanguine Noble invades you) or by using the Pureblood Knight's Medal given by White Mask Varré at the end of his questline.
In the lightless depths lies the grave of an ancient civilization. It is here Mohg, the Lord of Blood, is building his palace, to be the seat of his coming dynasty named Mohgwyn. And whatever nightmares that may bring.

- Map Mohgwyn Palace: Found on a corpse on the stairway leading to the palace, past some Albinaurics that summon giant skeletons. [Elden Ring Map Link]
The Waygate Teleporter to Mohgwyn Palace is found northwest of the Yelough Anix Ruins in the Consecrated Snowfield. The Waygate is inactive until after you kill the Sanguine Noble NPC, who invades nearby. [Elden Ring Map Link] Northwest of Yelough ruins is a circular formation visible on the map, which is a rocky trunk-like spire. Directly west of that circular spire on the map is the teleporter, but you just drop down a couple ledges near some white logs that form a ramp.

Walkthrough for Mohgwyn Palace in Elden Ring
When entering from the waygate in Consecrated Snowfield, you get teleported to a set of caves southeast of Mohgwyn Palace. The caves here are linear, so simply follow the path out and down and you'll be able to grab a Golden Rune (11) and get to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace. Make your way northwest where the slope is littered with Albinaurics and collect a Golden Rune (11), a Smithing Stone (6), and five Bloodroses on the way down. At the bottom, you'll emerge into the main blood-filled lake of Mohgwyn Palace.
If you'd like to grab the map fragment for this area to make navigation easier, keep heading north-northwest until you get to a section with three hunting horn-wielding Albinaurics who can summon large spectral skeletons. Once you get past them, head west to find a ruin, and the single corpse sitting in the middle here has the Map (Mohgwyn Palace). Head up the stairs to quickly grab the Dynasty Mausoleum Entrance Site of Grace.
With our newfound map, it's time to get looting. Back from the slope, you descended earlier from the Palace Approach Ledge-Road, head east to reach the southern section of the lake. On your way, you're likely going to get invaded by a Nameless White Mask. Three of these NPC invaders will attack you at different areas in the blood lake. They have quick attacks and have access to a strong bleed spell that you should try to avoid as best as you can. On the southwestern side of the lake, you'll be able to find the Haligdrake Talisman +2 and a Ghost Glovewort (9) among some graves by the cliff. In the southeast, on the other hand, you can find a Golden Seed and the Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook (24).
Head back to the northern part of the lake, where you'll find a Smithing Stone (7), Smithing Stone (8), and Golden Rune (12) on the western side. In the middle, in front of a large rock pillar is a Hero's Rune (4). Along the eastern walls are small caves, each filled with loot. In the first cave (from the south) is a Somber Smithing Stone (9) and a Teardrop Scarab that drops the Ash of War: Blood Tax. The second cave is guarded by a few Albinaurics and has a Ghost Glovewort (8) and the Swarm of Flies incantation. The third cave, also guarded by some enemies, houses a Smithing Stone (6) and Golden Rune (13). Hug the eastern wall north and you'll eventually find a Rune Arc.
Make your way back to the Dynasty Mausoleum Site of Grace and head up the stairs in the southwest. In this area, you'll be encountering a bunch of Putrid Corpses. Many of them are fairly docile, not minding even a shoulder bump, while some will run at you and attempt to explode in your face. Whether you decide to take them out or leave them alone, follow the linear path here, grabbing a Smithing Stone (7), Numen's Rune, Stanching Boluses, and eight Bloodroses on your way.
You'll eventually get to a group of Putrid Corpses praising the sky in front of a dark doorway. This doorway leads into a very dark cave, so get your lantern or torch ready. At various points, while exploring the cave, you'll get ambushed by Sanguine Nobles. If you die by their hand, you can respawn at the Stake of Marika right outside the cave's doorway. At the first cave split that you encounter, a Sanguine Noble will appear. Head down the south split before heading north to find the Imprisoned Merchant.
When you head north, you'll immediately find a Lord's Rune in front of you. Continue northeast to get to a ledge overlooking a Great Ghost Glovewort. If you shine your torch down, you'll see a hoard of Putrid Corpses gathering around it. None of them, in particular, are the 'explode in your face' kind, so you can simply run past them to grab the glovewort. Next, head west, where you'll encounter another Sanguine Noble and a Smithing Stone (8) among some gravestones. Continue following the path, picking up the Ghost Glovewort (9) on the way, and you'll eventually emerge outside to the Dynasty Mausoleum Midpoint Site of Grace.
Right ahead are a group of Albinaurics and a Sanguine Noble facing up towards a large statue. You can take them out one by one since they don't seem to have situational awareness Attacking one Albirnauric triggers all of them to be hostile. Right in front of the statue is a Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone and if you take a peek on the lower ledge behind the statue, you'll find a Golden Rune (13). From here, look down over the cliff to see a corpse holding a Golden Seed that you can jump to. Watch the pit between yourself and the rocky platform. From here, you can either go back the long way or fast travel. As of July 2022 the corpse described above is visible but does not hold any item. It is unknown if this true at all times, or if there is a trigger variable in the individual playthrough (total seeds already collected, etc.) If the corpse has no item feel free to forego the jump & skip to the paragraph below.
Turn around, facing northwest, and take the lift ahead up to a large, ruined temple. When you walk in a cutscene plays and the fight against Mohg, Lord of Blood commences. Defeat him and you'll be rewarded with the Remembrance of the Blood Lord and Mohg's Great Rune. The Cocoon of the Empyrean Site of Grace spawns here after his defeat as well.
Elden Ring Mohgwyn Palace Maps and Notes
How do you get to the Temple of Blood Elden Ring?
The Temple of Blood is also known as the Dynasty Mausoleum in Elden Ring. This is where Mohg, Lord of Blood will be. In order to reach this location, ensure you made your way to the underground first and reach Mogwyn Palace which is accessed from a gateway teleporter [Elden Ring Map Link] in the frozen west of Consecrated Snowfield (northwest of the Yelough Anix Ruins and west of where the Sanguine Noble invades you) or by using the Pureblood Knight's Medal given by White Mask Varré at the end of his questline. White Mask Varre will give you this item once you have completed the 3 invasions required for his questline to advance.
He will give you the Medal after the reusable Bloody Finger, exhausting his dialogue is necessary. [Elden Ring Map Here]
Once you reach the underground, you will find yourself in a cave. Head out of the cave and this is Mohgwyn Palace. Make your way down and you will be heading directly west through the Bloody water until you see the arches that will signify that you have reached the Dynasty Mausoleum. To reach Mohg, Lord of Blood head up through the stairs until you reach the temple structure and head in. There will be a number of enemies along the way. Continue to head west and you will eventually find the doorway leading out. In this next area, there will be a lever where you can activate the lift to reach the Boss arena.

If we consider at least 50% of the playerbase does the albinauric farm, and if all of them did it enough to get max level (~2 billion runes), taking into considerations that every group of albinaurics (aka a single gold wave slash) kills around 12 albinaurics for 40k runes, that would mean that around 60 TRILLION albinaurics have been killed, which is more than 50 times the world population

Why is it called "mohg win" palace when he clearly lost after I fought him?

i swear to god that old giant body inside the cocoon cant be miquella. it just has to be mogh's body, the hands look identical. what we fight is formed from his blood, he's probably using his blood as a vessel, being that he is the lord of blood.

While farming the giant crow with a bow, I personally find it easier to actually teleport back to the site of grace rather than resting at it. This is because a tree blocks your arrow at some weird angles, which becomes more troublesome the closer the crow moves to the edge of the cliff. Now if you rest at the site of grace, by the time you get back up, the crow will have moved well under the tree, making a clear shot much more difficult, whereas if you teleport back to the same site of grace, the crow's position will be reset to its original place, a couple steps further, giving you much more time to shoot an arrow before it gets under the tree.

there is a bug in palace approach ledge-road for the bird rune farm, sometimes when i kill the bird i get 85k runes instead of the 11k wich im supposed to get, but i have no idea what causes it

I don't know why, but I can't summon Torrent here. I have seen youtube vids of people running around on horseback, so I am a little confused as to why my game would be working any differently.

Farming the albinaurics from "Palace Approach Ledge-Road" Grace yields about 40k runes with gold scarab talisman and takes less than 30 seconds using triple rings of light incantation at 50 faith

That corpse that has an item (sometimes) after the Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone, when I got to the area, and started my ascent through the Palace, it had an item glow. It doesn't now that I killed Varré and made my way up above it. Wonder if the Varre invasion has something to do with it disappearing.

Dumb Question, The Albinauric's that summon the Giant Bones things, that fire the lasers... do they drop their tools? Because I know no one wants to **** around and find out with them, but still makes me wonder if we aren't missing an item due to... you know... the literal fear of lasers.
The best rune farming strategy for the palace approach site of grace I used is to equip a Bolt of Gransax+9 along with the Golden Vow incantation, golden scarab, and lightning scorpion charm. I brought along some golden four- toed foul feet for good measure. The AoW one shots the Albunarics from a distance without aggroing them and trivializes the whole process. In fact, it trivializes the whole game as from this point forward I didn't have to worry about runes ever again. It made the Lord's Runes found throughout the area worth 50k runes each seem like a joke.

Concerning the following: "As of July 2022 the corpse described above is visible but does not hold any item. It is unknown if this true at all times, or if there is a trigger variable in the individual playthrough (total seeds already collected, etc.) If the corpse has no item feel free to forego the jump & skip to the paragraph below."
On PC, as of 1.09, I found the following to be true. If I looted the Golden Seed on the corpse behind / below the large statue first, the Golden Seed in the blood lake did not appear at the tree. However, using a backup save, if I went to the tree at the blood lake first, the Golden Seed appeared there. And, if looted, resulted in the Golden Seed not appearing on the corpse behind / below the large statue with the Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.
This is an edit to my previous post about the flask refills when rune farming by the Palace Approach Ledge-Road site of grace. It does in fact give two refills of each flask.
This is a quick tip for anyone rune farming the area by the Palace Approach Ledge-Road site of grace. On my second playthrough (not NG+) I got to this area as soon as I could. So, I was low leveled, and I found myself running out of flasks before I was able to get to the four shield bearing Albinaurics that walk up and down the hill just before the lake of blood. Most people start out killing the bird when starting the run. If you wait to kill the bird until after you kill all the Albinaurics before the four shield bearing Albinaurics that come up the hill your red flask will get one refill and the blue two refills. I don't think you get any refills anywhere else in this entire area. Hope this helps somebody.

If you're having trouble with the cartwheeling red albinaurics, dodge backwards and to the left when they're close to you and you should be able to backstab them during the recovery.

leveling up easy in this area with all the albaneurics over 2000 runes each. helps being able to use summon in the red liquid part where they are. killed the boss mogh second try with rivers of blood +10, nagkiba +10, and my mimic summon. just have to watch out for the blood loss countdown. then he gives over 500,000 runes as a reward plus whatever runes the remembrance is worth.

I do think Mohgwyn Palace is the hardest, got the most personality and gave me the most end game ish zone feeling comparing to other zones like Consecrated Snowfield and Mountaintops of the Giants which felt rushed and somewhat boring..
While in this zone, you can rack up some good runes if your brave enough to fight the mobs (or cheese your way out),get some really great goodies early on and not to mention, enemies here fits with the zone's aesthetics where they always got something to do with blood unlike in the other zones where it got the enemies randomly placed from other zones.

If you use the "Spread Out" emote in a deep part of the blood lake, you submerge yourself under the blood, and If you aren't wearing giant armor like Bull-Goat's you can't be seen by human eyes

Other than killing Mogh before you got the war-surgeon set, do as you like/can :)
Does going here "early" using the Pureblood Knight's Medal fail any quests? I know that killing Mohg is probably a no-no, but am I okay just getting the Somber Stone, then leaving?

There's a Great Ghost Glovewort (pretty sure, might be Grave) in the dark cave on the way to Mohg. It's in a pit full of putrid corpses that rise when you near them.
- Anonymous
Usually when you kill a boss, the grace in their room is named after them, but for Mohg LoB? Nope, its named "Cocoon of the Empyrean"
DLC stuff maybe? Doesn't help that when you hit Miquella's hand blood start to run down it
- Anonymous
I believe there is a single golden seed that can either be found in 1 of 2 areas, earlier in the Southeastern section of the lake, or later on the corpse near the lift as mentioned, but not at both.

The Albinaurics absolutely have situational awareness in front of the statue with the Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone right before Mohg. If you attack one, they will all attack
- Anonymous
just realized that Malenia and Radahn probably fought in Caelid because Malenia was trying to find her brother. it says here that Mohgwyn Palace is underneath Caelid, Malenia probably had a sense of the general location of where Miquella was, just had no clue to look underground.

The crow does still go over the edge of that chasm totally unaffected by .07 like one or two are saying. If you walk to the edge with the compass showing just past west and a little towards north there is a V shaped notch in the edge. If you stand on that V when you hit the crow with an arrow as long as you don't turn away to start on the ablinaurics before you see it go over the edge it will and does go over every single time.
The only time I ever have to reset because it backs away from the edge is either hitting it from a different place or turning to use the rune farm sword before I see it go over.
- Anonymous
Does anyone know what is going on with the crow that is perched up high overlooking the gravestones? The first few times I was there after killing all the NPC invaders it would go for me and easily kill me. But for a good while now if I hit that crow with an incantation, or arrow it swoops down but sinks into the cliff under where it was perched. Once or twice I've seen his beak and bits of wing clipping through the stone and can kill it but most of the time it disappears.

That giant sludge monster where all the putrid corpses are is exactly what I expected the Aldritch fight to be in DS3

The bird farm is still doable but it seems like either the bird's collisionbox or its AI have been updated; it doesn't run off the cliff 9/10 times now - more like 1/3 times. Still worth

Both seeds can be obtained, just gotta do it without reloading the area after grabbing your first one.
- Anonymous
If anyone is playing through this area before getting the rune farm sword from it's remembrance and have to fight the red albinaurics head on, the most reliable and consistent way to avoid getting hit by the attack where they erupt in spikes and come quickly spinning at you is to think of it as a game of chicken. Leave it to the very last moment before dodge rolling out of its path. That attack has some tracking and it can hone in on you but rolling away at the last makes it redundant and ineffective.
Pretty sure the golden seed on the cliff corpse is there as the balance seed. It's the place that will have one if you didn't choose a golden seed as your starting gift. If you did, no seed will be on the corpse.

Call me crazy but there is/ was a different way into this location not using the teleporter or Var quest. On my first play through I made it here without doing either and have just recently gotten the item/ killed the npc blocking my access. Was the NPC invader added post release? Anybody get here another way?

It’s possible the golden seed on the cliff only appears if the golden seed at the phantom tree isn’t collected. I picked up the golden seed on the cliff but went back to the phantom tree and there was no golden seed there.

To counter the red Albinaurics spiked cartwheel of death... get the Briar Set from Castle Sol, equip any of the pieces(I use the gauntlets usually) and just roll when they do it. This set does damage to anything that contacts you while you're rolling and their death cartwheel is designed to break if they take ANY damage whatsoever. It's a nice easy counter.

This area is a complete pain, but the boss is awesome imo, albeit very hard.

The blood-filled lake is even more messed up than it first appears. Bodies hanging from gibbets and near the remains of a blistered crow there is a solitary blue hand sticking up out of the blood lake.

This page needs to give a warning about the first sanguine noble that ambushes you in the dark tunnel re-spawning after you have used the merchant. I killed it before I bought what I wanted from the merchant but I was ambushed again as I was walking away. It killed me, but when I went back for my runes and to try again only one sanguine noble was in that area near the merchant.

Before the first set of stairs if you go left towards the rocky formation you can use the horse to jump over them and find yourself over the entire mountainous zone, this is probably an oversight from the devs, since going around you'll see the ground few meters below disappear, or the rocks you are on disappear too! There are big holes around too, and if you get too near the "temple" area Torrent will disappear leaving you on foot over that bugged area :D
You can see beforehand a good portion of the area from there, but to get down teleport to the grace, otherwhise you risk to get stuck mid air and die or die on impact with the ground.

The Albinaurics here are NOT like the ones in Liurnia. The cute little cartwheels they do here can stunlock for a one hit kill. Also anyone who hated the crows in Caelid are going to be having aneurysms when they see how cu*tish they are in this place.

I find it kind of silly that for the offline route you need to find a randomly placed portal in the snowfield instead of, you know, the place you first find mohg and his blood priest. It's not even sensical as a level scaling thing, since with Varré you can farm runes there as early as Liurnia

The golden seed near the midpoint grace wasn't there for me. A corpse is draped over the rocks with plenty of nearby white messages, but it had no item.
I'm not sure if it's been patched out, or it doesn't show as I have max flasks (with 5 spare seeds already), or a glitch.
- Anonymous
Worth noting that you don't have to kill the sanguine noble to use the waygate, running out of his range until he leaves your world activates it too.
I know from a friend of course, I would never run from a battle h-ha
- Anonymous
Also if you grab the golden seed by the tree, it doesn’t appear in the corpse in the cliffs behind the chest with the somber ancient dragon stone and vice-Versa. It seems to confuse some people. Took me a bit to figure that out. Only one seed can be obtained in the area.

What a zone! Giant LOUD skeletons, Giant QUIET birds, invaders at "interesting spots", bleed dogs, albinaurics which turn into a ball of death, zombies that blow up, boss that can count to 3. My applauds.

Anyone know what's up the rocks behind the palace approach ledge road bonfire?
There's a whole chunk of map up that way and I can see white shadows jumping up but I'm struggling to do it myself and am wondering if it's worth it to keep trying.

the blood albinaurics do that blood spin and will get blocked by my shield for a bit.. but sometimes they get blocked and then go past my shield somehow.. hurting me REALLY bad or killing me if it spins enough..
anyone know why this cancerous skill does that sometimes?
I know it's because they get behind me, so it's hitting me.. the dual sword banished knight's blade helicopter spin can get behind your shield also.. but srsly FROMSOFT??? was this on purpose?
Usually i feel really bad killing Albinaurics... But can't deny this is the best farm spot in the game. Never mind the bird, ripping through an army of unarmored high rune mobs with a spirit in a literal lake of blood will keep you from getting bored.
- Anonymous
Did they change the bird rune farming? I will hit the bird and he just runs to the edge and backs up and just stares at me.

The note at the end about killing the Albinaurics 1 at a time is not accurate. Heck, you can't even stealth kill one of them because they have so much situational awareness.

What the fu** happened here, since i reached consacrated field and then this area the difficulty level was upgraded like it's so absurd... The ****i** birds, the dogs one shot blood effect, the wheel albinaurics, the constant invasion, the phantom skeleton with their laser beam, the tiny area... All this reminds me the dark times of DS2 ... Maybe it was this precise team of DS2, who was in charge to work here... Pure cancer... It's forced me to skip all of this, just grab the items and leave...

I love summoning greatshield soldiers +10 by the hordes of blood albinaurics and starting a war. They won't live too long, but it's a good way to clear a safe path before the giant pigeon yeets itselfs at you instead of off the cliff. :)
