I swear he's actually immune to Deathblight. I ran out all 4 of my Blue flasks using just Fia's Mist at him, he sat in the mist with all of them and was just fine. I have 40 Mind bruh. I casted that **** like 30 times. He must've taken like 9 billion buildup. Bro is straight immune to it.

The way I killed him was I snuck behind him, stabbed him in the back, and hit him with two Dragonclaws. For me this was enough to kill him. Remember to get the shortcut open before you try, though.

This guy used to be really hard. The best ways I have beat him is 1) Sacred Relic Sword - Wave of Gold - will knock him down over and over. 2) Fallingstar Beast Jaw - Stuns him and a fairly easy takedown. 3) Marais Executioner's Sword - Equip Winged Sword Insignia , Millicents Prostesis. Thorny Cracked Tear in Physisk. Run up to him quickly and Hard Attack.

You know, we call out cheaters for using programs to pull crap like this. Instant parry, no risk of failure, and massive damage. Whoever thought this was a good idea doesn't play enough video games. This isn't a challenge. Unfailing instant parries and massive damage is just cheap design masquerading as something better. If we actually survived the stab, we might learn something. Instead most of us players just want to throw him to the crabs and watch him get eaten. Then we might get some decent entertainment out of him instead of a headache when ONE SINGLE ACTION ends the fight.

One of the most bullshit, parry-happy *******s in the entire game. You have to fight him being prepared that at any moment you are GOING to be hit. Sometimes it cannot be avoided. Sometimes it'll kill you outright. And when you think he's on the ropes? Mother****er drinks his flask.

What staff does he use?

Dude's got near-infinite poise on-demand and artificially augmented recovery frames. I've traded hits in the exact same kit as he's wearing and if you *do* manage to stagger him somehow with it, he can still start swinging before you recover. One of the worst NPC opponents right next to Miriam.

On a first play through I destroyed this guy with a bleed build and he must have taken it personally. All subsequent playthroughs he literally becomes harder than Renalla. Unsheathe? Parried. Impaling thrust? parried. GRAVITAS? PARRIED? Then his riposte is like a one-shot. And if you get lucky you'll survive only to get carian piercer roll-caught. No wonder these guys could solo entire platoons of soldiers.

Very easy to cheese using the Mimic's Veil, use it to go around him along the edge of the room into one of the alcoves on either side of the door. Then you can sneak and get a backstab in or else bypass him completely as he won't aggro once you're in the elevator room.

For Faith builds, Lightning Spear makes quick work of him. He doesn't dodge it or block it.

A way to cheese Moongrum is to run / dodge past him and send the elevator up, but get off the platform. Then run around the perimeter, and he’ll invariably fall down the elevator shaft. Voila, end of fight.

Another enemy that has infinite stagger. Killed him with nothing but guardcounter and he did not get staggered even once. Seriously, Tarnished should just go hide in a tree when there are plenty of dudes that have infinite poise, stagger, stamina & mana.

This page has one of the best main photos on this wiki, although Vargram the Raging Wolf's is still the best. Also, this enemy, like many enemies in this game, is trivialized by jump strong attack spam with any weapon big enough to flinch him (which is most weapons, maybe all weapons; can't say I've tried daggers though). In his case, jump attack spam is... well, not mandatory, but even more disproportionately valuable because it gets around his parrying.

Here a tip for you to kill him: Use the ball that drop on top to kill him, It's not risky if you look at the path of the ball you will see that it went ziczac so if you know where the ball will go then it will not hit you even when you stand on the stairs.

Pulped 1st try with Loretta's Greatbow. Fully charge and release, then watch this little ***** health disintigrate from your vantage point.

Fall back to the ball of doom if you need breathing room. Easy victory for mage with the right skills. Very cathartic beating mage BS with more mage BS, honestly.

Here's a weird bug that I discovered can happen with Moongrum at least as of patch 1.06. I used Rotten Breath for the DoT, and then used the weapon art of the Marais Executioner Sword. Then after I did a jump attack, he managed to parry and then kill me with a riposte. Then after the YOU DIED text showed up, the scarlet rot killed him as well. After the loading screen finished, I ended up inside of Rennala's boss arena despite not having opened the door to it or triggered the boss fight.

I walked back towards the door and triggered the boss fight before continuing it as normal. Then I went back and Moongrum was still alive. I killed him afterwards, but it's just so weird something like that could have happened.

After getting murdered ruthlessly 4 or 5 times, I heeded the comments and used a jump attack, opening him up to getting torn apart by sword of light buff from the ranged holy sword ash of war.

I tried sniping him with Frenzied Burst only to get him to go mad after 2-3 shots. Use unparriable attacks since he spams parries. I haven't tried it on him but I was about to go run towards his back for a stab when he tries to parry but he died before I could do that.

Dont hit him 3 times straight while he has his shield on left hand, that will prompt his auto parry secret ability. Ah, dont let him drain you stamina, becaus thats his specialty.

Beat him down with a flail. Flails can't be parried, don't bounce off shields and deal massive poise damage to shield blocks. Level up a flail to +7, +8, stick cold affinity on it and R1 spam him and he'll die on knees, frozen and bloody.

I just encountered him for the 1st time and was able to have the balls land on him twice. That alone practically did him in. Just have to be willing to linger in the area where the ball hits the ground right before it does and bait him to come at you.

Manor towershield, poke him from shield stance with Rogiers rapier. Doesn't matter if you fat roll just occasionally back off him to build your poise back up. so he can't break your poise. I used 2 sippy cups to beat him, got two crits, he got none.
