Morgott's Cursed Sword is a Curved Greatsword in Elden Ring. The Morgott's Cursed Sword scales primarily with Arcane and Dexterity, with reduced scaling in Strength, and is a good Weapon for melee combat. Its unique skill, Cursed-Blood Slice, allows players to charge forward and deliver a downward slice that causes an additional Blood Loss build up effect.
Warped blade of shifting hue used by Morgott, the Omen King.
The accursed blood that Morgott recanted and sealed away reformed into this blade.

i don't like how this weapon looks that much, especially how good every other bleed somber weapon looks, but the AoW more than makes up for it, it looks so badass.
- Anonymous
I don't understand why morgott has a bloodflame attack, did he learn It from his brother or something?
- Anonymous
This needs a huge dex req drop, maybe to 27 rather than the current it's a bit ridiculous that RoB post nerf still out paces this and it's because the req on this sword is too taxing for most builds to run effectively unless over 150 and that's an area where this sword will get outclassed by everything else. Sad but true.

For optimization: Level dex to 55 before leveling arcane from 17 to 20. Then level dex to 80. If you are two-handing, feel free to level str and/or arc as you see fit, as they will give you the same returns until str hits 20. At this point, arc and str teeter back and forth a bit more but if you level them both you will get the highest ar for your level until str hits 28. Then dump arc until it hits 80. Str up 34. Now you can rotate between dex, arc, and str until they reach 99.

It's one of those weapons that can become insanely good without lock-on, you can get some insane hits by dashing foward but aiming for your behind specially in duels

Always wanted to do a run with this weapon and now I’m doing it and finding out it sucks ass??? Why is this thing so bad?

Should’ve scaled with faith. Morgotts the most faithful guy I know
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
I would have liked that we could also use the omen-fire that Morgott imbues this weapon with. Especially since there is not really a faith/arcane weapon in the game.
- Anonymous
this weapon feels underrated even still because of how good the aow is. definitely one of the highest hyperarmor abilities i have used and even the running animation at the beginning can stagger bigger enemies attacks. the running at the beginning lets you hit enemies completely behind you also. the initial slice will stagger and then the explosion stagger follows leading to this inescapable stagger when you spam sometimes
- Anonymous
Oddly enough, the little "shove" at the beginning of the ash of war technically does fire damage despite doing 0 damage, which means it can set Fingercreepers on fire or detonate explosive barrels even before the slashes come out.

As fun as the weapon and it's skill are to use it's a bit disappointing it doesn't have a quicker, more graceful unique moveset similar to the way Morgott uses it. Considering it's the lightest CGS in the game it just felt like a no-brainer, especially considering how the Zamor CS got one despite being heavier.
- Anonymous
I really, really wish this sword used the same model as the one Morgott actually wields in the fight. The boss version has a more even crescent-like curve that I absolutely love, whereas this one has an unsightly forward bend towards the tip. Also, I'm pretty sure the grips are different as well. I really wonder why this is, it's like they were each made by separate artists who interpreted the concept art differently.
This weapon is insanely cool, but would anyone else have liked the Stone cane form of it as well? Or his golden dagger throw as like, an incantation? ..Or the golden hammer... I just really like his moveset

Its not the best weapon but sometimes still having fun with it even now in DLC so not must have but nice to have for sure ;)

I use the bloodhound fang currently should i switch to this sword for late game?

- Anonymous
i dont think this is a good weapon just from looking at the numbers
bloodhound fang is way ahead with much better scaling, it can also be buffed with bloodflame blade, skill costs half as much for a lot more dmg
i guess it is lighter? yeyyy
- Anonymous
Love the lunge forward you do with the weapon skill. Allows for a very aggressive playstyle
- Anonymous
Killed an over levelled furled finger running this during a level 20 inv at gate front. Felt pretttty goooood

What are good talismans to use with this?I need a dump talisman to fill up an empty pouch and want to consider other options before going for dragoncrest greatshield or Erdtree's favor. I thought about using Millicent's prosthesis, but idk man, I'm not sure if consecutive attack bonus and 11 additional AR are truly worth a slot compared to other options.
- Anonymous
yo btw does leveling up arcane increase its innate bleed dmg
- Anonymous
I love the weapon art, I love the design, I love the weight, but that extra little critical damage has to be my favorite part about the weapon it’s such a tiny part of the weapon but look at the criticals this thing can get
- Anonymous
Exceedingly good against Malenia, but not to a point of cheesiness

I love that it's good but not too good . it's fun to use while not making the game too easy
- Anonymous
man, it does 100 less dmg then my bolt of gransax (comparing both a +10 seein as my BoG is alr +10), tho bleed might compensate, no way is the skill gonna be any better then my lightning sniper, ig i can dual wield the 2 tho cuz i wanna use this weapon til i get smth else i like
- Anonymous
Can you get power-stance two of these by duplicating the remembrance?
- Anonymous
Miyazaki just said “yeah get a really good gap closer weapon art, good damage, make it the longest CGS and on top of that, make it a remembrance boss drop so it doesn’t need to be farmed, and on top of ALL that, give it lots of bleed Andre even more on the skill. 153/10

This **** goated. Gotta be 1 of the most satisfying skills to use too

Sexy weapon, sexy moveset, sexy AoW. What more do you want?
- Anonymous
playing on a character with 11 mind rn and the weapon art is surprisingly good even with no fp
Does the little extra range and the Weapon Art make up for the ~150 less AR compared to the Bloodhound’s Fang? At least with 80 levels of stat spread to offenses.
Wanted to try out Curved Greatswords because I’ve never touched them in other souls games. And the Bloodhound’s sheer amount of AR + grease compatibility is intimidating compared to other CGSs.

When having buffed yourself with Golden Epitath, the AOW of Morgott's Cursed Sword just bounces off people. Apparently this was a problem with the Golden Epitath for some other weapons as well, i don't know if they fixed it with the other weapons yet, the forum posts were old, but the problem persists with Morgott's sword.
- Anonymous
Crazy, I was rocking a low level dual wield curved greatswords with this on the right, and it’s the first character that defeated Malenia first time, without even buffs. The AR on this thing is crazy, not to mention, the bleed.

Oil shale. Now get to refueling Doterra we got a Omorron Heartstone to crack.

This weapon has the most obnoxious weapon art of any weapon. Tracking is insane, hit box is way bigger than it should be. Elden ring balance is out the window.
- Anonymous
Awesome weapon. I'm lvl 92 and I'm powerstancing 2 of them at +7. 18 str, 40 dex, and 20 arcane. With Millicent's Prosthesis (RIP Milli) I'm doing 429 AR, and 62 bleed. Used by itself it has decent damage, and the reach is really nice. I can get 2 or 3 bleed procs on most bosses. It works extremely well with one in each hand. They are light weight so you can wear heavier armor to reach your poise break points, stack bleed quicker, hyper armor, good A/R, and the weapon art is deadly.
- Anonymous
Should have just been the cane, but could break open when you do the weapon art.

Willful traitors all! Thy kind are all of a piece. PILLAGERS! Emboldened by the flame ambition.

I love this weapon, it's just beautiful to look at and the AoW is a work of art.... I really wish it got A or S Dexterity scaling at +10. This is a really unique and special sword, so I wish it was stronger. (by comparison, the Bloodhound's Fang C/B Str/Dex scaling gives it wayyy higher damage)
- Anonymous
Powerstance it with any curved sword. Super fun and strong.

if you use this weapon, please put some deodorant on. preferably antiperspirant.
- Anonymous
My beloved. Arcane/Faith build with the swag talons incantation and this thing's weapon art is peak edgyness and I love it.
- Anonymous
Love the forward sprint you do with the weapon art before attacking. Allows easy gap closing before initiating those devasting strikes. Allows you to play very aggressively and reminds me of the forward momentum you would have when attacking after dodging in Bloodborne.
- Anonymous
I love this thing, it makes dealing with any kind of knight or otherwise high-poise enemy simple. Just L2, do the followup, and then spam R1 until the bloodloss procs or they die, whichever first.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Why does the sword only show a buildup of 36 blood loss in game? Is it 36 or 60 like the wiki?
- Anonymous
Crazy good in PvP on a Dex build. The L2 is a fantastic roll catcher, with good tracking and absurd range. The 2nd hit is a bit hit-or-miss, but you can always follow up the first L2 with an R1, or even R2 if you're feeling cheeky. It doesn't build Bleed as quick as RoB or an infused weapon, but it deals enough physical damage so that the bleed proc is usually the finishing blow.
- Anonymous
better get used to seeing this everywhere after the last patch made this things skill god tier for a week and a half and now meta slaves still use it to cope with their lack of a ancient somber stone
- Anonymous
we should of got margit's cane as a greatsword from morgott instead of that omen baby thing
- Anonymous
holy CRAP this thing is light, 7.5 Miyazakis is NOTHING for a CGS

Does the ash of war on this weapon scale with arcane or dex?

Poise was nerfed, but the passive bleed is now 70, not 60. It's so OP now.

if you are in pvp try r1 then free aim the ash of war for a guaranteed roll catch and a r1 again for the true combo
(perfectly balanced miyazaki as all things should be)

It looks like a very large ingrown toenail that you managed to tear off so I guess the bleed makes sense.

such a cool and fun ash of war, just wish it didnt look so bad in game

Cursed blood-slice skill spam along with mimic-tear spamming same skill eased me to kill Malenia in 1st attempt (1st attempt with this weapon after dying 100+ times with other weapons in her 2nd stage)!!

finally, a weapon that can hold a candle to hts running r2 spam

Does this scale best with like 50arc/35dex or with more dex pumped

Great Hammer / Great Axe / Great Sword / Curved Greatsword
>Cursed-Blood Slash
Increased projectile generation speed and reduced the recovery time.

this weapon would be 10x cooler if you held it how morgott did
- Anonymous
Does anyone have explanation on why the weapon art have those “mohg like” fire as if morgott is slicing the formless mother, which is very uncharacteristic of him since it involves flame and non-erdtree power. Yes I know it is phase 2 exclusive, implying he is desperate, but how did he learn it in the first place?
I know Bloodhounds Fang is the best Curved Greatsword, but this is my favorite. The AoW is so damn cool, and it build bleed quicker per hit.
- Anonymous
Not the best of weapons but it doesn't require a lot of arcane to use it since it primarily scales via dexterity. What I really like is this thing has some serious range and it's weapon art is pretty good.
Plus this thing looks pimp af
I find at 45 arcane this thing can bleed heavy armor people with 1 weapon art combo if you also landed a single hit beforehand, I also use 50 dex to help on the regular damage but It's always going to be worse than any strength curved sword at 125 for single hit damage however the bleed danger at all times is real.
My setup is not min maxed yet at 125, it's bad but 45 arcane is definitely perfect. If you go 60 you literally will drop like 70 AR compared to a strength curved GS on top of them having flame strike buff at the minimum for even more and that's with curved GS being not that great damage-wise.

The only DEX/ARC weapon in the game that I know of that leans heavily in the DEX direction. Compare it with the Marais Execution's Sword, which is the only STR/ARC weapon that leans heavily in the STR direction. Building around the Marais is all about maximizing the damage on its unique AF weapon art and finding opportunities to cast that for big numbers. I think the intention with this one is to equip the Kukri and Poisonbone Dart consumables (the only consumables that scale well with these stats) and use those as your "spellbook" (alongside this thing's WA). You're not going to get any good spells with just 17 ARC, and you won't have points to spare to pump ARC or FTH further because you blew them all on DEX. Could be an interesting fringe build.
- Anonymous
So is this actually a dex/arc weapon or does it just have the arc requirement for the same arbitrary reason so many str weapons have an int requirement? I want to use it because frankly it looks visually stunning but I'd much rather just meet the minimums and go hard on DEX if that's an option.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
although it looks like it scales the same way as RoB and Eleonora's, this weapon is the only one of those 3 to actually scale better with DEX than ARC. I'd recommend a 50 DEX 30 ARC split for this one and the opposite for the other two.
- Anonymous
BTW if you're dual wielding magma wyrm curved sword and bloodhound fang, there's no point in swapping either for this. Fang already has blood loss and does more damage, magma wyrm is bigger, does more damage and already has a fire skill that makes you dash forward (which is also funnier to use and does more damage)
- Anonymous
Many comments talking about how this sword is cool but not optimal and that's all fair but to that I say: this sword has the most drip in the game and what's even the point of being Elden Lord if you aren't drippy as hell
- Anonymous
Considering how pointy and thin this sword is, i think it should've gotten a thrust heavy attack like the Gravelord's Sword.
Bloodhound Fang can only dream of being this cool
