Morgott's Cursed Sword is a Curved Greatsword in Elden Ring. The Morgott's Cursed Sword scales primarily with Arcane and Dexterity, with reduced scaling in Strength, and is a good Weapon for melee combat. Its unique skill, Cursed-Blood Slice, allows players to charge forward and deliver a downward slice that causes an additional Blood Loss build up effect.
Warped blade of shifting hue used by Morgott, the Omen King.
The accused blood that Morgott recanted and sealed away reformed into this blade.

Poise was nerfed, but the passive bleed is now 70, not 60. It's so OP now.

if you are in pvp try r1 then free aim the ash of war for a guaranteed roll catch and a r1 again for the true combo
(perfectly balanced miyazaki as all things should be)
- Anonymous
It looks like a very large ingrown toenail that you managed to tear off so I guess the bleed makes sense.

such a cool and fun ash of war, just wish it didnt look so bad in game

Cursed blood-slice skill spam along with mimic-tear spamming same skill eased me to kill Malenia in 1st attempt (1st attempt with this weapon after dying 100+ times with other weapons in her 2nd stage)!!

finally, a weapon that can hold a candle to hts running r2 spam

Does this scale best with like 50arc/35dex or with more dex pumped

Patch 1.09

Great Hammer / Great Axe / Great Sword / Curved Greatsword
>Cursed-Blood Slash
Increased projectile generation speed and reduced the recovery time.

this weapon would be 10x cooler if you held it how morgott did

Does anyone have explanation on why the weapon art have those “mohg like” fire as if morgott is slicing the formless mother, which is very uncharacteristic of him since it involves flame and non-erdtree power. Yes I know it is phase 2 exclusive, implying he is desperate, but how did he learn it in the first place?
I know Bloodhounds Fang is the best Curved Greatsword, but this is my favorite. The AoW is so damn cool, and it build bleed quicker per hit.
- Anonymous
Not the best of weapons but it doesn't require a lot of arcane to use it since it primarily scales via dexterity. What I really like is this thing has some serious range and it's weapon art is pretty good.
Plus this thing looks pimp af
I find at 45 arcane this thing can bleed heavy armor people with 1 weapon art combo if you also landed a single hit beforehand, I also use 50 dex to help on the regular damage but It's always going to be worse than any strength curved sword at 125 for single hit damage however the bleed danger at all times is real.
My setup is not min maxed yet at 125, it's bad but 45 arcane is definitely perfect. If you go 60 you literally will drop like 70 AR compared to a strength curved GS on top of them having flame strike buff at the minimum for even more and that's with curved GS being not that great damage-wise.

The only DEX/ARC weapon in the game that I know of that leans heavily in the DEX direction. Compare it with the Marais Execution's Sword, which is the only STR/ARC weapon that leans heavily in the STR direction. Building around the Marais is all about maximizing the damage on its unique AF weapon art and finding opportunities to cast that for big numbers. I think the intention with this one is to equip the Kukri and Poisonbone Dart consumables (the only consumables that scale well with these stats) and use those as your "spellbook" (alongside this thing's WA). You're not going to get any good spells with just 17 ARC, and you won't have points to spare to pump ARC or FTH further because you blew them all on DEX. Could be an interesting fringe build.
- Anonymous
So is this actually a dex/arc weapon or does it just have the arc requirement for the same arbitrary reason so many str weapons have an int requirement? I want to use it because frankly it looks visually stunning but I'd much rather just meet the minimums and go hard on DEX if that's an option.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
although it looks like it scales the same way as RoB and Eleonora's, this weapon is the only one of those 3 to actually scale better with DEX than ARC. I'd recommend a 50 DEX 30 ARC split for this one and the opposite for the other two.
- Anonymous
BTW if you're dual wielding magma wyrm curved sword and bloodhound fang, there's no point in swapping either for this. Fang already has blood loss and does more damage, magma wyrm is bigger, does more damage and already has a fire skill that makes you dash forward (which is also funnier to use and does more damage)

Many comments talking about how this sword is cool but not optimal and that's all fair but to that I say: this sword has the most drip in the game and what's even the point of being Elden Lord if you aren't drippy as hell
- Anonymous
Considering how pointy and thin this sword is, i think it should've gotten a thrust heavy attack like the Gravelord's Sword.

Someone claiming the gradual bloodloss buildup doesnt exist in the wiki seems to be lying. In the underground roadside i had hit the weapon art a few times to try and get them to bleed. After about a second or two it bleed, AFTER the weapon art had been finished and i was already rolling away, and he was running at me. It bleed the omen and finished him off. Whether it be a bug or a change at some point, this thing at least before was applying the bleed burn.
- Anonymous
They really should’ve gave this weapon the bloodflame effect, even a weaker version would’ve been nice (less bleed build up per/s than regular bloodflame). It’s fun to use in PvE, just wish it had a little more going for it.
- Anonymous
If you're running a Arcane/Bleed build and having trouble with Radagon and other bosses that are immune to bleed, this is a great weapon as it has good fire damage which most of these are weak to. I melted Radagon/Elden Beast with this
- Anonymous
Good alternative choice as a dex/arcane weapon choice after ROB nerf and great curved sword buff. Not op though, for me the after nerf ROB and Morgott curved sword takes about the same time to defeat malenia in 1v1. The bloodflame slice is pure fashion.

I'm buying as much as my inventory can hold and filling my boots with ingredients and upgrade materials as per NG+ checklist before starting my next playthrough.
I really like this sword and it's weapon art, I also have Mohg's sacred spear and I'm toying with the idea of a respec heavy into ARC. But at the same time I don't really want to put the blasphemous blade, godslayer's greatsword and giant's red braid aside by putting what I have in FTH into ARC, any opinions or ideas? I don't see much mention of FTH / ARC builds, is this because I would also need DEX and I'd be spreading my attributes too thin?

If you spam this bad boy's skill while fighting Malenia she just ****ing dies

What does it mean by "does not apply the gradual blood loss debuff"?
- Anonymous
Good weapon, would recommend it for any strength arc build. You will have this half way through your first play through and it doesn’t disappoint, in terms of the weapon skill, thank god curved swords were buffed in 1.06. It comes out faster and the bleed buildup is solid. 10/10

Originally picked this up just because who wouldn't want a cool shimmery rainbow sword, but it quickly grew on me and it's my favorite greatsword I've used so far. The bloodflame is such a good roll-catcher and it's surprisingly fast and light for a greatsword. The bleed buildup isn't really the point of the weapon, I find, but a nice bonus suprise when it does proc. Overall a nicely versatile and reliable weapon. I kept finding myself switching to it whenever I was having a tough time with other builds in later NG+ cycles.

Had great luck against Alecto using this sword. The Cursed-Blood Slice fire attack consistently staggers her.
- Anonymous
Low base damage, poor scaling and a 110 crit modifier on a weapon class that has one of the lowest critical damage multipliers, I can't see any reason to use this other than the weapon art
- Anonymous
This blade far outclasses bloodhound but only if you spec for it. Alexander's shard, Fire Scorpion Charm, Ritual Sword Talisman, and your choice of a talisman as last slot, but I usually use Great Jar's Arsenal for heavy armor at 30 endurance. You could always go for more damage instead. The weapon art hits like a truck in PvP and is pretty good in PvE as well. I also tend to roll catch panic rollers with its delay. It's way better for parries and does considerable damage at 50 dex on riposte even compared to misery-cord.
The one downside to this weapon is that you cannot buff it, but Flame Grant Me Strength raises your WA damage by a ton. I'd say a good buff vs enemy weakness on Bloodhound Fang could make Bloodhound a contender, but not in dps. You want as much Dex as you can get, until you hit the damage cap, and then focus on Arc.
For me, I tend to like to powerstance, which is why I like using Great Jar's Arsenal. Bloodhound is okay to offhand with this, but you can't buff your offhand weapon, meaning that you'd be better off off-handing a different curved greatsword. That being said, I haven't really found any other ones that I like to duel wield with this that scale with arc for bleed. Instead, I like to mainhand swap between Morgott's blade and Bloodhound when I need to be mobile while still dishing out damage like at Malenia. Bloodhound Fang's weapon art has helped me space Malenia's startup waterfowl so many times, while still doing damage. Morgott's blade can't do that.
Can we please get more curved greatswords that actually bleed? Did I miss some of them? I suppose I could mainhand Bloodhound Fang and 2 hand Morgott's blade to use the WA, but then that removes Bloodhound's weapon buff.

This weapon is awesome but come on man where's the satisfying sword cleaves when Morgott uses it.
Well, I was trading rememberances just for completionist purposes, and this one got me. I was using the Bloodhound Fang+10, but since I liked the Curved Greatswords decided to give this one a try, and upgraded it to +9.
The first point is the visuals, having a Gamer Curved Greatsword is simply amazing, Bloodhoun Fang is nice indeed, but the lore and visuals of Morgott's is simply compelling.
The moveset is about the same, and after almost 70 hours of bloodhound fang, it wasn't a problem at all. But statwise was a drawback for me. In damage output the Fang outperforms the Cursed Sword by a lot, making even the 10% crit bonus useless.
But the WA on the Cursed Sword is (literally) fire. The damage potencial using the followup was doing almost 50% more damage on the Mountaintop Of The Giants Trolls, compared to the BHF. The catch is that is harder to achieve all this pontencial, cause your enemy have to almost dance on you slashes to take all the damage. Other important point is that is also a bit trickier to hit, compared to BHF WA.
I'll definitely be using this (MCS) on areas that the damage output isn't a issue (exploration), but for bosses the BHF will be my main focus.
I might be noting this difference because of my build being heavily invested on DEX, but the D scalling on ARC doesn't seem to be much of a difference on a 50/50 build...
(Well, english isn't my native language, sorry for any inconvenience on this little bible).
- Anonymous
There's a reason to use this over Bloodhound Fang? It looks beautiful, but stat-wise does not seem to worth the change, D on ARC does not seem to make it any better...

Greatest bit about this blade is that it’s weapon art also does that bs attack delay Morgott does.
The 17 arcane requirement really makes me want to push this build towards melee/dragon seal hybrid caster, but it’s damn near impossible to squeeze faith points into a RL125 build. Doable on RL150, but you could get by with just the 17 arcane and the rest in dex. Just feels like a waste. 17 is such an awkward place to leave arcane at IMO.
- Anonymous
This is the weapon for people who want to use rivers of blood but can't bring themselves to become spineless losers. It has a pretty good moveset, also a great weapon art for closing distances and pressuring the opponent. Its weapon art is actually very easy to evade if you're calm about it and mind the second bloodflame talons that it leaves so its not really busted, just plain good.
If you're a dex build but can afford some point to arcane this is one of the best weapons you can use.
- Anonymous
I didn't know that blood could do so much damage. I guess all you need is blood to kill things and not a big slab of iron.
- Anonymous
Hey so since the AoW is bloodflame, and usual bloodflame gets buffed by Flame Scorpion talisman, does this weapon's AoW damage get buffed by Flame Scorp?
- Anonymous
I need to wield this against hosts so I can put their foolish ambitions to rest
- Anonymous
The weapon art deals decent stagger damage. 2 full inputs and I can stagger the giant in front of Godrick. My gripe is the FP cost. It really shouldn't cost 20 FP.

Used Margitts shackle outside the fog, walked in to see him frozen. Spammed BoG and got him to half health before he came to life straight into phase 2. Summoned Greatshield guys and stood back as Melina rekt his ass.
- Anonymous
Is this worth using as a dex build with only enough arcane to meet the requirements or does it’s special scale exclusively on arcane?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Is it worth using this if I'm going to have 40 Dex but around 60 or 80 Arcane
- Anonymous
first of all it's grip is small while still allowing the user to execute two handed techniques the blade is the longest in it's class yet thin enough to not add unnecessary weight that's about four pounds lighter than normal, one could carry two more weapons and a medium armor without being overburdened.
the blade shape is original too, it's not strongly curved nor is it stright while difficult to handle it can out space weapons in it's class it can even compete with greatswords too, it's a tool for the pros.
couple this with techniques such as dash in rotating swing, jumping swing, backstep step in rotating swing, and of course cursed-blood slice, all the techniques one could want to initiate combat and stay aggresive unlike bloodhound's fang.
it's mix ups are solid as well between all of the diffrent techniques you could use while dashing in, the opponent wont react to all of them and is bound to make a mistake
even a heavily armored enemy will fear cursed-blood slice as it always breaks posture and poise and the blood loss will ensure that you win every trade.
cursed-blood persisting after every slice can allow one to handle multiple targets with it's suprior reach and area denial
also cursed-blood slice can allow one to forgo spacing principles and force thier way in aginst most attacks and magicks with this masterpice of a weapon you get to control most situations in a fight.
and remember that it's light enough to allow you to carry two more weapons and switching your approach and style on the fly.
Whoever did this is a professional. No question - this thing could cut a one-slice at 10 yards.

the weapon art is very nice now and makes it worth using, if you wanted to, but the actual AR on the normal swings is pretty underwhelming. People will do as much damage with katanas/straight swords with much faster swings.
- Anonymous
It would be really cool if this had the Omen flame effect from Morgott's second phase. At least for a few seconds after using the skill. We already don't have Morgott's move set with the sword or his weapon conjuring.

WA is basically a true combo now and that alone makes this bad boy amazing

Am using this with Hoslow's whip in NG+ atm. It's really fun to stagger and then dash onto a staggered enemy.
- Anonymous
After 1.04 buffed the speed of the WA, this sword is definitely as viable if not better than a tricked out flamberge. Pair with the bloodboon incantation in PVP and you have a great roll catch/distance closer WA and the ability to wall people in the arena where you want them to be.
- Anonymous
How did I not notice that this thing has a 110 crit modifier.
- Anonymous
An occult Flamberge outclasses this weapon with a higher AR and more bleed (112 when soft capped). It's a tragedy because the weapon art and visuals are stunning.
- Anonymous
Needs to lower WA animation time or ability to cancel last second of animation. Because that’s exactly what stops it’s WA from being consistently usable against mobs that don’t stagger like lobsters and fire prelates
