- Increases health by 25%. This multiplier gets applied after all other health increasing buffs, equipment, and spells.

i don't care if this is a somehow worse ember with an extra step or if the dude was the most spiteful to all tarnished over their right to be lord, morgott was the last real challenging non gimmick boss in this game and using this is the best way to remember his fugly face and the humblings he delivered if you're a vet or not

The biggest fault of Elden Ring's end game is assuming that Elden Ring players are smart enough to realize that having 25% additional HP is advantageous.

DS3 Ember, except you don't get free reapplications on boss kills (damn, that actually would have been a nice addition considering how many "bosses" there are in this game.)

Reason why thats my favorite great rune
"Increases health by 25%. This multiplier gets applied after all other health increasing buffs"
this with
-60 vigor, 1900 base HP
-Crimson Amber Medallion+2, thats 8%
-Erdtree's Favor+2 that gives HP (4%), Stamina (10%), and Equip Load (8.0%).
-Godskin Swaddling Cloth talisman that makes Successive attacks restore 30 + 3% HP, small weapons after 7 hits, normal to bigger after 5.
-Dragoncrest Shield Talisman+2, 17% Physical Damage reduction
-Opaline Hardtear, Increases all damage negation types by 15% for 3 minutes
-Crimsonspill Crystal Tear, 10% extra max HP for 3 min
-Boiled Prawn, 15% dmg reduction for 60 sec, reaplyable as long as you got some of them in your inventory.
-Great Stars weapon with Prayerful Strike ash of war (weapon regenerates 1% HP per hit, ash of war regens 30% HP per hit)
-any heavy armor with good poise
and you got yourself 2347 HP with 54% physical dmg reduction, 15% dmg reduction for everything else, regenerate 23 HP per hit, 690 HP per ash of war, and 99 HP all 5 hits because of the talisman. but you didnt hear the best thing yet, this DOESNT include the 25% extra max HP yet
so your actual HP is now 2933 HP.
Have fun being so tanki that nothing can kill you

I don't care what others say. This is the closest thing to the Ember, so it's fine for me.

There is a small bug with this great rune. When you pop it with a rune arc, it doesn't fully extend at 100%. It leaves like a tiny notch of lost HP.

60 vigor gave me an extra 475 HP which in NG7 is nothing to scoff at

The last line in the item description kinda hits hard,
"he was indeed the Lord of Leyndell."
Despite living life as a shunned outcast he never abandoned his principles. He took on the throne despite bearing the cross the cross his own people gave to him. Probably my favorite character in the game, never receiving any recognition until he was already dead. He truly was the Lord of Leyndell.

morgotts rune son, it hardens in response to physical trauma

So ember but worse? (locked behind a mid game boss, does not carry to new game+)

I don’t know what everyone is *****ing about with regard to this rune. 25% of your health is huge.

The 'greatly' isn't as great as I expected...My char went from 1000-ish to 1275. Now I know it's just that my char has trash HP. Still kinda feel weird to see a flask doesn't heal me to full.

Great Runes are so freaking lame. By a country mile, the best one you get is the first one. Radahn's is also good. This one is ok, and the rest are garbage. Mohgs in particular is a joke. This could have been such a cool mechanic that genuinely changes how you play the game. But instead, the only two that are actually good are literally just stat increases.

What a useful greatrune! Im sure this wont be absolutely useless by the next area where enemies deal more damage then nameless king!

Using this great rune while at 60 vigor with the crimson amber medallion+2, erdtree favor+2, and the crimsonspill crystal tear gives you just under 3,000 hp. Not very useful but nice to know if you want to max out your health for whatever reason

They should have made the great rune you get from the literal king of the city sitting right below the tree which graces you with higher rune drops... give you a flat increase to rune gains, maybe like 10%. It would be creative, lore friendly, and pretty balanced considering you're using your precious rune arc for a buff that isn't combat related like the others.
Idk if a recent update nerfed this or natural vigor gain, but before it I had 2375 with 60 vigor and this rune. Now only 2175. Why

save your rune arcs for elden beast fight. you are going to spam this rune lol

Do runes stack i used godrick rune and cant use this one i have to die or something?
- Anonymous

Does this also heal like it did in DS3?
otherwise it's kinda akward to use no?

Terra Magica+comet azur= bye bye. The weirdest thing is that the entire time I was blasting him with comet azur, I drew no aggro?
- Anonymous
For some reason it didnt show up in my inventory until activated in divine tower unlike all the others.

When I put this rune on for the first time, it gave me the same exact amount of extra health that Godricks rune did, so for a while I thought it was broken lmao

I believe this was only a temporary glitch, but when I used this rune, it gave me 8560 health, allowing me to survive getting mobbed. However, after dying, this rune worked like how it was supposed to. I really hope this was just a one-time glitch, because as awesome as it is to have that much health, it really would have broken the game a little bit and caused "meta issues" for PvP (if people even use great runes in PvP). Do take this with a grain of salt, though, since I haven't had any other glitches appear yet (except the Mausoleum in Sol and the mountains).
From my understanding invaders & those of the same family have their Great Runes disabled while visiting another world. However, I've already went against a couple of opponents who easily had 2700-2800HP & I'm only around lvl150. Looked at the HP & ring pages and the numbers don't really add up... so Morgott's rune must of been at play here. Bug, hack or a complete misunderstanding on my part?

For some reason when I killed renalla I didn't get her rune but was still able to respec, and when I killed Margot I got renallas rune and not his
At 60 vigor (the second vigor softcap) you'll get 475 HP in total you get 2375 hp

You get the great rune from killing him, it wont show in your inventory till you activate it.

got the remembrance but the rune didn't drop for some reason
- Anonymous
I have his remembrance, been looking for ten minutes for his great rune.
It’s not in my inventory at all.

I activated this at the East Alstus Divine Tower and It dropped on the ground with a message saying I Couldn't carry anymore runes in my inventory nor on my storage (I know wtf?) It activated but it was on the ground. Went to the round table and came back and it was gone. I think It's just lost. Morgott's still dead. So I think I just lost this great rune. Sucks.

Kinda sucks how like half of the great runes are just "more hp and stuff"
Gives me about 50 more health than the +stats rune but I think that rune is better overall.
to visualize the HP increase from this great rune at 60 vig I took these pics with the healthbar static on the N on the compass. Before and after https://imgur.com/a/aJGCJ7n

mine's not working like at all same hp before and after equipping.
- Anonymous
At 40 vigor, Godrick's rune is 1581 HP, Radahn's is at 1667 HP and this one is 1812 HP.
- Anonymous
Idk what from's thinking, but placing tower that restore first boss rune in the late game is retardo decision for sure.
- Anonymous
Anyone know how to activate this after you /spoiler/ with the great tree?
- Anonymous

The hp 1 will be even better .. no diminishing returns and calculated after all other sources.
This runes gives you a 25% HP boost, which is pretty good if that's what you're going for, it'll put you well over Godrick's HP boost sooner than Radahn's where you have to wait till 37 vigor
- Anonymous
Rune didn't drop after killing him, at least, it's not in my inventory with the others?
- Anonymous
As usual, a bunch of loud mouth noobs who cant do math cry over one of the best abilities. Anytime percentages come in to play they are strong and high health has always been the core for pvp. If you are to stupid to understand hoe good a 25% buff that doesnt diminish is well too bad. Apparently math is too hard for you.
- Anonymous
Apparently if you trade kills with a demigod you wont get his great rune which also means you cant access their divide tower guess im not getting this rune
- Anonymous
Give me about 100 more hp over Godric great rune feel useless to me so far compared to the first one you get
