Apparently this altered version allows the hood from the Black Knife Armor's concealing veil to show up. Assuming that's true, it's a nice nod to the fact that they're waiting for Ranni who was responsible for the Night of Black Knives.

God it makes me irrationally mad that the character never pulls the mask above their nose. It looks goofy.
