Okina Mask is a Helm in Elden Ring. Okina Mask is part of the White Reed Armor Set, and looks like an old man gritting his teeth. Okina Mask protects the player's head by applying various defensive properties, and also changes the appearance of the player.
A wooden mask that depicts an old man baring his teeth. The
source of the sobriquet of the great swordman of the Land of
Reeds.
Raises dexterity as it lowers focus.
The more he sharpened his mind, the more the absurdities of the
world came into stark relief. And so Okina renounced it all, and
rose to a higher plane. There was only himself. His katana. And its
mastery.
Before long, Okina became a demon of a swordsman.

To everyone who says it looks terrible, read the description. It's supposed to be the Japanese Katana Demon. Did you expect him to look pretty???

I see a lot of people not liking the look, but idk man I kinda dig the style

It gives extra dex and decreases focus. Both are downsides in my book. I'm joking, str builds can't read books

Probably the best mask in the game for a Tengu of Ashina cosplay

It looks questionable, but 3 Dex in exchange for a penalty to focus is a genuinely good trade. It's not like Madness and sleep are all that common, especially by the time you fight Okina.

Has one of the highest focus modifiers in the game but somehow reduces your focus stat?

This mask reduces FOCUS (resistance to Sleep and Madness)
It doesn't reduce your Focus Points.
Pointing it out because some (like me) may mistakenly read the mask's description as reducing your focus bar, which it doesn't.

If you started Samurai the Okina Mask gives you exactly enough DEX to wield Moonveil or Rivers of Blood without investment. Really handy for min-maxing INT or ARC scaling builds that don't want to invest in DEX much or at all.

This helmet + veterans set = Protection, 69 poise (nice), fashion EVERYTHING YOU COULD EVER WANT
Combine this with the Banished Knight armor and you got yourself an S+ armored Warrior cosplay

How much does it raise dexterity?
Also in the description, it is gritting your teeth, not grinning.
Thanks
It says it raises dexterity and lowers focus. Does anyone know by how much?

I equip this mask and it instantly crashes my game, very cool

the white reed set doesn't have a helm, maybe you should wear this?

I love how this looks, it has a very "severe" vibe like someone who's very hard on both others and himself, but not in an "uptight" way per se more like just a sheer intensity of devotion to sword mastery. I also love the description, about how Okina "sharpened his mind" to a point where the world seemed absurd and he felt utterly free to just focus on his own sword skill. I also like that this is a good stat-boosting (in this case dex) item, although I usually am using Strength and not Dex so I don't have much reason to use this (although then again I could fit it into any strength build that's using a weapon that has a raised dex requirement, but the vibe of the thing doesn't suit many strength weapons anyway...) Tho actually now that I think of it, I could fit this into my Glaivemaster Hodir character half-decently. It's not tooooo late in the game, just beat Morgott and then gallop through the Mountaintops to Okina.
