Pike is a Spear in Elden Ring. The Pike scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity and is a good Weapon for long distance combat and horseback combat. This weapon is best used in an open area to better suit this weapon's range. 

 

A longspear featuring an especially lengthy handle.

Specialized for use from long distances, it boasts the longest reach of any melee weapon. Incredibly useful even against foes on horseback, but hard to wield in cramped spaces.

  • Weapon Skill: Charge Forth
  • This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War
  • Can be buffed by Magic or Consumables
  • Pike can be upgraded by using Smithing Stones
  • This weapon has a unique upwards-thrusting R2.
  • This weapon is the longest in its class by a pretty wide margin.
  • At 34 Strength, 14 Dexterity and 60 Arcane, the Pike has 428 AR and 114 Bleed buildup under Blood infusion, whereas under Occult infusion, the Pike has 517 AR.
  • Note: As of Patch 1.08, poise damage of all Spears has been reduced for PVP.
  • NOTE: As of Patch 1.09, the scaling values of this weapon were changed. Please refer to the Upgrades Table of this weapon below.

      If someone is running in a field and are far enough ahead these are still better than pata at catching them. Hit them a few times then switch to pata when they slow down to finish them off. The tracking is abysmal and they can be easily strafed otherwise.

          One of my favorite weapons in the game. Mediocre damage is made up for by a ridiculously fast moveset, the best range in the game, pure pierce damage R2's, great capability for fighting large and horseback enemies, and a busted powerstance. I still haven't touched PvP more than a couple times after 1700 hours in-game so maybe this thing is hell to fight against, wouldn't be surprised

              As big as Great Lances.

              As fast as Thrust Swords.

              As strong as Straight Swords.

              As good for poise breaking as Greatswords (with Giant Hunt).

              It is indeed a GREAT Spear.

              Just wished that it has a straight line strong thrust in its strong attacks, to make more use of the length.

                  Pike is often overrated for its range.

                  Players accept its lower damage for a safe distance but the disadvantage gets even worse considering spears do additional damage hitting enemies with the tip.
                  If a greatshield is used range is less important and the distance after a block is optimal for mid-range spears.

                  For a spear+shield build Pike isn't a good choice.
                  For a mobile 2H or dual-wield build Pike is a great choice.

                              You can attack most things and witness your enemy striking where you would normally should have been with other weapons. You can keep attacking a giant for example and they cant stomp you, they'll just dance in front of you without any hit.

                                  Elden Ring PvP is in fact ruined. If you hit someone with a medium weapon, they hit you for free while you’re stuck in recovery of the swing that should have stunned them. If I hit someone with a pike, they can immediately hit me back with a dagger or double straight sword while I’m still stuck in the hit animation. I’m not a noob confused about passive poise. I mean they do infact stagger but the stagger time is non existent. Off hand daggers are absolutely miserable because they win the trade even against pike and have the momentum to invalidate my reach.

                                    Really good on a spell caster if you got stamina. They balanced the reach with absurd stamina cost but it’s still good. I like it best on int/fth and sacred blade. Just like playing saints Biden from ds3. The biggest problem is stamina management and the pike is kinda sluggish, like all spears and you’ll be reaction traded or jumped. Spells and anti-jump r2 cover the weapons main weaknesses.

                                        Change heavy attack to the Treespear heavy attack. Boost str scaling to A for heavy affinity. Slow down the r1 moveset by 25%. Perfection.

                                                The heavy-attack really feels like it should launch people into the air, kinda like giants hunt. Would give more of a reason to use it for something else than tall enemies.

                                                      Having this weapon's strong attack be a weird upward thrust is kind of a shame. Longest non-whip in the game you'd expect some outstretched attack. I understand the strong attack is not useless and does have a considerably value for example when fighting a dragon but I would have preferred something to take advantage of the weapon's reach for all the other enemies in the game.

                                                        This is a niche weapon which is particularly useful vs big creatures such as the giant dogs and birds in Caelid, but overall in other areas this weapon is quite awful. It has a bit more reach but the moveset can't fully utilize it due to the R2 striking upwards and also when 2-handed the roll/crouch attack (as in all spears) has NO reach.

                                                        However the biggest drawback this weapon has is the stamina consumption which affects all form of attacks including Ashes of Wars. We're talking about using the same amount of stamina as a Greatsword just to hit as hard as a Shortspear. If you want to spam skills it's more efficient to use the shorter spears and if you prefer to brute force you're better off using a greatspear.

                                                          If you’ve ever summoned a player called SpearChuckerKofi, that will be me. I’ve destroyed Maliketh and Malenia many times alternating between two handed Bleed and Fire Pikes. One of my favourite weapons after power stanced nagabikas, underrated. Only let down is that the R2 doesn’t make use of it’s length effectively

                                                            This thing really, really, REALLY should have a unique weapon skill that allows you to set it into the ground and just cause the tip to do contact damage to anything that runs up against it, especially cavalry. Y'know, because it's a PIKE!

                                                                It has really good reach but it's just a straight poke on the r1 and the damage is kind of poor on that so you end up wanting to dw Spears and then you aren't getting the length anymore so you should just use something that hits harder like the bolt.

                                                                  Two handing this weapon makes it seem deceptively short. The player will grip it in the middle when standing but when thrusting your grip will actually shift to the back giving you a lot of unexpected range. Plus the Landsknecht or Reislaufer role playing potential of this is unbelievable.

                                                                          This thing is no joke, while other spears and curved swords are only good power stanced, this one excells when two-handed. You get an AR of up to 630 on heavy with insane reach and the fast version of skills like spinning slash and sword dance which combined with the length are near impossible to avoid.

                                                                            The charged attack is really good against the giant dogs. When you stand in front of them it will hit them right in the head and a single fully charged attack poise breaks them

                                                                                Piercing Fang Pike's lunge is amazing, timed right it can punch straight through Waterfowl Dance (Player) and Corpse Piler without trading damage. Watch the sheer disbelief people go through when their "I win" button gets ignored.

                                                                                    For all it's long reach, the Pike is terrible on horseback. The normal attack cannot hit enemies.

                                                                                    The only way to hit anything is to hold a power attack and charge.

                                                                                      Its by far the best weapon for punishing in PVP thanks to the double spear moveset and the insanely long range that it has, and you are able to get it early game so you don't need to get all the way through an ng+.

                                                                                        it claims to have the longest range of any melee weapon, but whips seem to actually hit enemies at a longer range when you're locked on. locking on since ds3 seems to remove a little range from attacks. still prefer spears because you can't whip while a shield is raised.

                                                                                          Love this thing against invaders. I use w bhs and ice, the panic that insues is hilarious, imagine trying to heal then someone covering the distance of 3 rolls in an instant just to poke you out of the healing animation, I swear nothing is more satisfying than someone using seppuku start of the fight to them running as fast as possible to chug a potion and getting punished for it

                                                                                              This carried me throughout the entire game with a manor greatshield. You literally become a tank. There's a reason that long spears and pikes were the main weapon on the battlefield prior to the gunpowder age. The long range is so good against smaller enemies and bosses on horseback (spears deal bonus damage). Put Giant Hunt ash of war on this which can perma-knockdown certain enemies. Also put a cold infusion.
