Invaders HATE these! Like seriously, this item alone has gotten me more hate mail than any competitive PvP game, period. Rot Pots lovers seethe with rage when you just eat a lil' pellet and counter their buildup, they act like it's a war crime to cure yourself. Bonus hate mail if you return fire with Albinuric Pots! Always have these on hand! You WILL need one or two at some point.

It's late 2023 and we still can't buy this in any merchant , nor the sacramental bud. Do we need to wait the DLC that is coming in 2024 ? I lost hope at this point...

          • Anonymous

With how easy it is to apply Rot in PvP you should really be allowed to buy this stuff in chunks like in dark souls...

Already cheated on my wife and now Miyazaki wants me to cheat in Elden Ring aswell so i can actually play PVP. *sigh* Whose idea was to get limited amount per playthrough again?

              • Anonymous

i was excited to see an item like this in the game, not necessarily for mechanics but for lore purposes! i've used boluses in real life, they're used in something called poliment gilding, a type of gilding mainly used indoors. in combination with the unalloyed gold needle, i thought it was a very fun lore detail.

                • Anonymous

Hopefully they'll make boluses a purchasable consumable in the DLC/in a free update but only from a late game vendor, meaning Flame Cleanse Me would serve a role as a early-midgame game option but becoming no longer needed once you reach the merchant.

Law of Regression being the other way to dispel rot has a great purpose as a offensive dispel so purchasable boluses won't devalue it completely, the fact that it can dispel enemy player physics/buffs alone is already a great reason to run the spell on Intelligence setups, as long as your careful not to dispel your allies buffs/physics.

                  • Anonymous

37 intelligence for Law of Regression = Removes any status effect for you and friends as long as you have 55 fp. Slowest cast speed of them all.

12 faith for Flame Cleanse Me = Remove rot and ice effect at the same time as 15 damage to yourself and costs 14 fp. But only to yourself not others and can be used on any class with specific gear. It also has the medium speed of use and is the most efficent of the methods to use. One backstab/riposte with Assassin's Cerulean Dagger will recover 15 fp allowing for infinite use as long as enemies are nearby.

Preserving Boluses = Removes rot, can be given to friend in time of need unlike Flame Cleanse Me, quickest to use over all other alternatives. Requires ridiculously rare ingredients and ingredients are at inconvinent areas. Allowing us to infinitely be able to get hold of 99 of these would make Flame Cleanse Me useless as well as Law of Regression.

My take of this is that if they allow us to buy all the ingridients and keep having 99 preserving boluses you wont need the other alternatives to remove rot since it would cost you 0 fp and would be quicker than the spells themselves.
They should make it so you can have a maximum of 10. This means you can craft more if you have ingredients for the them in case you lose all 10 boluses. The downside is if you've used 10 in say a boss fight, you can't craft more since you're in a combat. This would mean Flame Cleanse Me or Law of Regression wouldn't become totally useless and would make crafting much more fair.

A good and cool crafting system destroyed by limited ingredients rather very rare and expensive ingredients.

Stop crying about these being finite, just quickswap to Two Fingers Heirloom and use Flame, Cleanse me. "14 cOsT iS tOo HiGh" cope, seethe, mald, youre staying losing and im staying winning.

EVERY SINGLE INVADER ON YOUTUBE cheats to have 99 of these. The entire pvp community is utter garbage that cheats its way to victory every single time.

One option if you run out all your boluses is to rise 5 points in faith with the talisman or cristal tear and use "flame cleanse me". Only needs 12 faith and 14 FP.

                              • Anonymous

kinda cheat engine moment when they are limited for a playthrough. well normal players are screwed up again, just like in darksouls3 with siegbrews and blessings. Atleast there is Incantation that requires 12 faith, right? oh yeah, just make and reload save lool 4Head

                                • One interesting thing I have noticed about these boluses is that it seems Miquella's cocoon could be a giant preserving bolus. Seems like he wanted his cocoon to be this way if he knew that Melania would be nearby guarding him. This way her scarlet rot would not spread to him in his slumber. It's possible Miquella might have even had a hand in the creation of these boluses.

for the leyndell royal capital link it doesnt work because the link is Leyndell+rotal+capital and not leyndell+royal+capital

another spawn for one of these : just north of the Grand Cloister grace in Lake of Rot, on a body just along the ledge leading towards the grace.

                                      • I'm fine with the whole crafting thing, I'd settle for a bell bearing that let's you buy really expensive sacramental buds. But only having a finite number of these things in the game is dumb. Yes i know it's a rare drop from a few enemies but farming them takes you hours for just a handful, which isn't viable. And to anyone taking about flame, cleanse me, its a souls game, i doubt the devs expected everyone to rely on faith and mind no matter what build they use

Hey so armour er cookbook 6 does not give me perservering bolues and instead gives me blood grease and a few blood arrow recipes. What’s going on? Other ppl post about the discrepancy and get downvoted cuz I guess not everyone has the same book? Mine is different I’m looking at it right now. I need these damn things lmao

Imagine making half the enemies in your game deal a status effect and making a PvP weapon also deal said status effect and then implement no reliable way to deal with it.

                                            • Anonymous

There's only a small number of these purchasable from vendors and at least one of the flowers required to craft them is exceedingly rare and afaik do not respawn(after a certain point). If these aren't infinitely purchasable through a vendor then it makes rot builds absolutely the strongest in PvP as eventually you'll no longer have a way to cure rot without having invested some points into Faith for the "Flame,Cleanse Me" miracle. It's a miniscule investment but for optimized min/max SL builds, every point counts. Forcing players to 12 Faith just for one spell isn't cool, especially if you're a pure melee build with no Faith investment and little FP.

This is the only one that seems to be difficult to obtain despite the majority of the status inflicting enemies, bosses and locations using rot. I ended up burning through all 30 of mine just getting the items and crossing the rot lake

Armorer's cookbook 6 in siofra river from a corpse in a camp just above the siofra river bank grace just gave me the recipe for making these, it's dewkissed herba, crystal cave moss, and sacramental bud.

                                                  • Anonymous

Bit of a pants method, but you can farm them in the Stillwater Cave. Get to the grace, run in, grab the one you see when you get in, run out, rest at grace, rinse and repeat.
