Priestess Heart is a reusable Tool in Elden Ring. It is a tool found in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Tools are unique, reusable items which assist the player during various facets of gameplay, ranging from basic communication to assisting in boss encounters.
The stone heart of a Dragon Communion priestess. Use while disrobed to turn one's human flesh into an ancient dragon. The change cannot be undone except by death. Using this heart while already transformed temporarily boosts incantations of the capital's ancient dragon cult. The priestess was once an ancient dragon herself, but sacrificed that form for feeble flesh to aid in the destruction of Bayle the Dread.
Where to find Priestess Heart in Elden Ring
- Grand Altar of Dragon Communion after defeating Bayle and not using Thiollier's Concoction on the Dragon Communion Priestess during the night. [See SOTE Elden Ring DLC Map]

i know very very little about the lore so forgive me, why is this the one that boosts dragon cult incants while the rock heart boosts dragon communion? surely the mascot for dragon communion would boost that, while the ancient dragon form would boost the ancient dragon cult incants?
- Anonymous
Pretty nice if you wanna go pure caster glass cannon. Makes for an interesting run. Is it worth it? Who cares, just blast.
- Anonymous
Really wish this granted a bit of arcane too (like lamenter's mask) in order to make the requirements for flowerstone gavel easier to hit... 15 arcane just for that weapon feels just bad, this could have helped with it.

My biggest issue with these transformations is…
The debuffs are permanent(I get your a naked dragon, but for the love of fking god, give it some poise it has scales).
The damage increase is a buff that I need to constantly reapply?
So let me get this straight… you become a glass house piece of **** that gets ragdolled by literally everything, & the only bonus is a buff that needs to be constantly reapplied?

Mildly interesting tidbit about this heart is that while the Dragon/Rock Heart's aorta resemble the spines and neck stumps of dragons the Priestess Hearts aorta(I assume that's what they are) have its heads intact. The rock heart in particular brings to mind the decapitated dragon statues found around dragon communion churches.

What's the lore implication's of us just finding this on the ground after defeating Bayle? Wouldn't the priestess still need that?

I first rescaled and then found out it boost those electric spells, not dragon spell...
Im wasting my controller's batteries...

Death Knight Set: Good resistances, good poise, 8% damage to dragon cult incants.
Priestess Heart: Terrible resistances, no poise, 20% damage to dragon cult incants.
I know which one I'm using. Do you?

I wonder why/how she would had to sacrifice her proper dragon form it doesn't seem to make any sense given Lansseax didn't seem to have trouble switching back and forth

this is amazing when ur running a bunch of dragon cult incants like ancient dragon lightning strike. this things buff + golden vow + howl of shabriri + flowerstone gavel ash of war (makes targets take more dmg from lightning) + lightning scorpion charm + flock's canvas talisman (or ritual sword talisman ur choice) + godfrey icon (you can charge pretty much all dragon cult incants) + aged ones exultation (just use howl until u get hit with madness AND hold a madding hand while doing it for an extra bit of dmg) + 2 gravel stone seals in both hands and suddenly a move like ancient dragon lightning strike will own every boss. Just make sure u got good stats.
AND remember that i wasnt the one to tell you about this very skilled hard to use build. *cough cough* im not real im a chinese phone bot made to farm comments.

Does this provide access to the same dragon form/buff as the Stone Heart item? Trying to figure out if this is just a reskin of that item and I should just put her to sleep...
- Anonymous
Such a shame they stick us with 1/3 of the Dark Souls dragon forms instead of giving us something substantial like the Beast and Lumenwood forms in Bloodborne
- Anonymous
If the damage boost was permanent, I would think about it. But right now, having to re-use the heart every 60 second ? Not worth the trouble
- Anonymous
Used this for a long time before I realized dragon CULT is the lightning spells not the breathe. oops
- Anonymous
Honestly the buff to incants should be permanent when you're in dragon form. Otherwise it just doesn't make sense. You already lose all your defenses so you should get something in return.
- Anonymous
Makes me mad there isnt a head only version of both of these... Goodbye dragonknight drip from the past games...
- Anonymous
This + 2 dragon communion seals is 1.15x1.15x1.2=1.587
By itself before any traditional buffs correct? Or is it additive
- Anonymous
I had some fun with this in PvP with a pure Faith build
Using Lightning (for damage) and Hardtear Physics Flask + Golden Vow and 55 vigor / 80 faith (RL 137) you get some decent survivability, with the advantage of Light Roll.
Flock, Godfrey and Radagon for offensive Talismans, Mottled Necklace as a defensive one.
The issue you have is preparation (Flask, Golden Vow, and Priestess Heart), but once you are done you get so much oneshot potential that's not even fair.
Gravel Stone Seal x2 + Endure dagger every time you need to cast in melee, since you have 0 poise.

Can this be dropped by another player? Which would be the path to take to get all items?

Wrong categorisation. This is a "Reusable" in game so it should be on the "Tools" page/category. Wiki puts it under Consumables.

does this work with dragon communion incatations as well or just dragon cult?

The item doesn't last only 60 seconds it seems to last until death from when I tested this

Cool little detail I noticed is that when you consume Thiolliers Concoction while in Dragon Form, you don't die anymore.
- Anonymous
Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike just got even stronger, no way
- Anonymous
I think this page and rock hearts page need to be updated, it seems they removed the need to use the heart while in dragon form to get the buff at some point. The in game descriptions even say it buffs the corresponding incantations now, instead of saying to use again for the buff
- Anonymous
if you use mimic tear while this is active the mimic will be in your default form, not dragon form.

when in ancient dragon form, you'll get 7% to all negations, and +70 to all status resistances
- Anonymous
A tip to using this as a Dragon Communion build and therefore use the Dragon Communion Seal and not the gravel stone one. Use the heart in conjunction with the Flowerstone Gavel which decreases lightning resistance on those hit by it. This will allow you to Mash bosses like Putrescence knight all the same as if you were a Dragon Cult dex build. Its noteworthy that the flowerstone gavel only works well with arcane builds. I think the reason for this is to balance the power levels between Arcane builds and Faith builds

So does the form itself give a buff or do you have to use the actual heart to get the buff?

Dark Souls 2's Dragon Torso Stone: "We are so back"
Elden Ring's never gonna beat the Dark Souls II 2 allegations.

I fell victim to not reading questlines before going and screwing around in the world. Put the priestess to sleep cuz I forgot about that item and wanted to see what would happen (after I drank the first one myself lol). Didn't really plan on using the dragon forms all that much, but doesn't seem like I'll be able to get this one until next time around.
- Anonymous
what kind of buff is this? does it stack with howl of shabriri? what about with contagious fury?
- Anonymous
different appearance with the rock heart is interesting, emphasizing that the power of the ancient dragons and their lightning comes from some sort of faith, whereas their lesser kin the drakes draw their power from arcane
also ties the dragonkin soldiers and their frost lightning closer to ancient dragons than drakes, in spite of their diminished state
- Anonymous
Now a boring person might say that this is both outclassed by the death night and just in general never worth using.
But I say drip.

Can anyone tell me if you can use the rock heart while in the priestess heart transformation or vise versa? Would be nice to choose how u look while deciding what benefits you want. Personally want the priestess form for its extra status resistance so I don’t get knocked off from my super armor attacks but would still want that extra 20% boost on dragon communion spells

This: 20% buff, atrocious stats, need to reactivate the buff manually every 60s.
Death Knight's set: 8% buff, pretty good stats, no need for reactivation.
Not a bad item but that's a tough sell
- Anonymous
Idk why people are hating on this thing, I’ve been melting bosses with the damage it provides. Sure it’s glass cannon type stuff, but the damage is amazig
- Anonymous
Is obtainted appearance exactly the same as if using rock heart?
- Anonymous
It seems like it is either this if you do not do the questline, or Florissax's Dragonbolt if you do the questline for it
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Gives a 7% damage negation to all defenses, so not bad on characters who don't use armor and this pairs really well with blue dancer charm.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
I'm curious whether activating this, the Stone Heart, and/or the Lamenter's Mask will prevent you from opening the door to the Three Fingers.
- Anonymous
When you are in dragon form, you can run on lava. Neat little thing I just found out in NG+ running through Volcano Manor lol
- Anonymous
Unfortunately kinda useless. Provides essentially no bonuses outside the of the 20% boost to Dragon Cult when you double-use the heart... or you could just get the 20% from the Death Knight set, which has things like defences and poise while providing the bonus 24/7.
The hammer's good, though, and the Spirit Ash from the other route is decent enough. Very much a shame that beating BAAAAAYLE has such mediocre rewards.
- Anonymous
kinda weird how these work the dragon cult inactions all do lighting damage but having no armor would fit more into a blue dancer build but that only buff physical might still be worth it as a pure caster build if you also double dip with lighting talisman and the lighting tear and gravel stone seal with the erd tree seal to cast it did any one test if these also boost the dragon cult buffs

- Anonymous
Something to note that players might've missed if they are tunnel-visioning for this item: there are at least two different dragon transformation items, the second being the Rock Heart, which is considerably easier to attain.

How do I get out of this mode? I am stuck in this dragon form i want to leave it
- Anonymous
In my testing this only looks to be a 15% increase (below done on troll in stormveil)
Knights Lightning spear -
Nothing but gravel seal: 1731
Seal and priestess heart boost:1987 (253/15% increase)
Seal and DK Armor: 2094 (363/20-21% increase)
Lightning spear
Nothing but gravel seal: 1248
Seal and Priestess heart: 1432 (184/ 15% increase)
Seal and DK armor: 1508 (260/ 20% increase)
- Anonymous
Having to use the item a second time for a 60 second buff is the height of annoying thoughtless fun-gating and it makes zero sense. The form should just innately do this, this alone makes it borderline useless.
- Anonymous
For those who are having issues using it, try leaving the dragon communion area. For some reason you can't transform in a safe zone.
- Anonymous
So I never talked to a priestess I just turned right and killed bayle and when I came to the alter afterwards there is no one at the alter just a weapon and a heart.
- Anonymous
For everyone saying it doesn't work, try leaving the "No-Combat Zone" you are currently standing in and try again
- Anonymous
i took off all my armor and still cant use it. might be cuz i have frenzy flame eyes tho
- Anonymous
I want to make one thing clear since many people don't seem to know:
If you used the concoction to put the priestess to sleep, you cannot get this item. It's a tradeoff between this and her weapon and the rearwards you get from using the concoction on her which I believe it's her spirit ash.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Does this thing really just give you one temporary buff for 60 seconds? It must be doing something else, right? Even DS1's dragon form at least buffed your unarmed attacks
- Anonymous
Wait, so you forfeit your armor for a 20% boost to ONE spell type? I mean, Ancient Dragons' Lightning Strike is good and all, but it must do something else, right? What am I missing here?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Another requirement is that you have to have dragon eyes from dragon communion, otherwise the item is not usable.
- Anonymous
Another requirement to use is that you have to have dragon eyes from doing dragon communion

the Priestess is stuck on "leave me be" even after killing Bayle, how do I get her to drop the heart?
- Anonymous
In PVE u get physical resist for each scadutree blessing. 41 for +12. Pretty strong.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Anyone know if you can get this and the dragonbolt spell in 1 playthrough? Is it like you can get the dragonbolt spell, rest, and then get the heart?
- Anonymous
I want to like this, but it's very annoying to use: the short buff can't be refreshed while it's active so it often runs out at the worst of times, and the shrug/prayer animation is too risky and slow mid-combat. You're already so squishy without armor so it's already a huge risk. Honestly they should have made it a short roar that can slightly push enemies back without dealing damage, or at least make it longer/refreshable idk :/
- Anonymous
Really wish it were better considering you have to go through hell and back to get it
- Anonymous
I tested the defenses and against a militiamen near the bestial sanctum I took 601 damage from their claw projectile while naked. With the dragon form on I took 559 damage. Meaning it has a physical resistance of about 7%. This was with 60 vig 18 mind 35 end 36 str 50 dex 9 Int 8 fth and 8 arc.
- Anonymous
They need to also let it buff dragon communion incantations as well.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
I found this before fighting Bayle. There's was a chair on jagged mountain side, after a moment old geezer spirit spawned on it and dropped this. It didn't affect the princess quest
- Anonymous
You can use it even if frenzied flame. You need to be naked to use it.
- Anonymous
Honestly kinda sad to see they just copied the Dark Souls mechanic of having to strip naked and then reuse an item after any death. Would've been cooler if they did it similar to Bloodborne with it's Beast and Kin forms where it's something you equip and it stays on, and you still get to wear whatever armor you want with only the head piece becoming invisible.
- Anonymous
The buff to dragon-cult incantations lasts for 60 seconds, and increase damage bone by approximately 20% (tested with lightning bolt).
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Okay the buff you get from using it again is stacking with BOTH Golden Vow AND Howl of shabiri?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
can't use it no matter where I try to tp to (I'm not frenzy flamed) RIP
