Pulley Bow is a Bow in Elden Ring. The Pulley Bow scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity and is a good Weapon for long ranged combat.

Longbow which utilizes a series of pulleys and strings. The complex mechanism, which required advanced mathematical and mechanical understanding to craft, was likely made by a certain genius who learned Golden Order Fundamentalism.

Enhances precision while shooting, enabling arrows to fly much further distances.

Best STR scaling of all longbows -- which is *very* meaningful for an exclusively 2-handed weapon -- while still having one of the better DEX scalings, and Mighty Shot's +53% increase to AR/status buildup/poise dmg is woefully overlooked, especially if you know how to aim for headshots for an extra +50% buff. Expect upwards of 1000 damage for every 6 FP Mighty Shot headshot on this bow if built properly. Makes the most out of rare status arrows like Rot/Frostbite/Sleep even on thinner targets. Mighty Shot + Stormwing Bone Arrows have gotten me some surprising poise breaks on bosses to boot. Also doesn't alert the whole neighborhood if you fire it unlike with Greatbows and Ballistas. Alex Shard is your best friend, followed by Arrow Sting, Ritual Sword & Spear Talismans, and maybe Blue Dancer if you can pull it off. Deceptively versatile and adaptable for a normal longbow, a robust and thorough marathon runner, even if more obviously adept at PvE; polite, efficient, and has a plan to snipe everything you meet.

I always upgrade this bow to use with any melee build, because sometimes I like to hide on a ledge like a coward and kill an area boss with 73 arrows

          I lever 131 build
          Stats: 55 STRENGTH + 55 DEXTERITY ( have GODRICK'S GREAT RUNE)
WEAPON: PULLEY BOW + Dragon Communion Seal.
TALISMANS: SHARD OF ALEXANDER, RITUAL SWORD TALISMAN, ARROW'S STING TALISMAN, BLUE DANCER CHARM
          ARMOR: I don't like nude. I use PRECEPTOR'S LONG GOWN (ALTERED) + PRISONER TROUSERS ( 3.2 + 2.0 = 5.2 Equip Load)
Phy if use BONE ARROW (FLETCHED) = 500.
If use buff: GOLDEN VOW + FLAME GRANT ME STRENGTH = 700.
I use Mighty Shot shot the Troll head more than 2000 damage.

          • Pulley bow has 309 total AR with 50 str+50 dex. Albinauric bow has 308 total AR with 20 str+80 dex. Ofcourse pulley bow has the extra range, both bows are viable depending on your build. A bow build should be complimented with blue dancer charm, arrow sting talisman, ritual sword talisman, and the spear talisman. For even higher optimisation, wielding radahn's great bow (I think its called lion great bow) in your offhand for the 20% radahn spear bonus damage, with golem great bow in your main hand as the damage dealer is the way to go. Swap Blue dancer charm for alexander/warrior jar shard. Matched with rallying standard buff+your choice of body buff - exalted flesh or bkoodboil aromatic, even FGS if you want the 15 faith for support incants. I was doing this at 50 str+50 dex, but the softcap for str on golem great bow is higher than 50, so perhaps use the str crystal tear in wondrous physick. I hope this helps someone, just done a bow playthrough was lots of fun! -Pharris Hood

So weird this take somber stones when most weapons that do are magic or special in some way. I get it has longer range but like that hardly feels like a justification for it needing somber. Not a big deal just strange

                • Anonymous

according to the AR calculator (google it), the Pulley Bow +10 has 48.6 scaling in both strength and dexterity, while the longbow has 30 strength scaling and 39 dex scaling. These values are all considered “D” scaling but you can see why the Pulley Bow outscales the Longbow in spite of lower base damage.

I do wish all bows did more damage. Theres not much of a point having the longest range in the game if youre not gonna be killing what youre hitting.

The mighty shot is so scuffed with this weapon. It's a compound bow yet you can see the frame itself bend to an uncomfortable angle when you pull it the full length of the arrow.

                      • So I run a quality Paladin, and I have like 80 Faith and Dex and 65 Str. I tried comparing Erdtree and Pulley Bow. Pulley bow is only a little bit behind Erdtree, even with comparing the Golden arrow on the Erdtree and fire arrow on the pulley. Against a target with any holy resistance, Pulley bow outperforms quite a bit despite my heavy investment in Faith. So I shall be using pulley bow now. It also matches my Radahn Armor/Malenia helm better. :) Fashion ring.

So, this bow is stronger than Albinauric Bow in terms of long range engagement? I don't quite understand the damage drop-off in this game, so any idea about this? Should I level Albinauric or this one?

Are somber-upgradable bows/crossbows good for a RL1 run or shall I stick to more classic weapons like the serpent-hunter? Thanks in advance!

This bow should NOT have more range than great bows. Don't get me wrong, I don't want a nerf, but I would like to see great bows buffed to have like 70-80 range

This seems to be the strongest normal bow.
Tested with 40 strength, 40 dex, and various combinations of stats. The Pulley outperformed the Longbow and the Albuirnac (probably misspelled) Bow consistently, in terms of damage. Also, has the lowest requirements, and the best range.

                                Seems like no contest.

so this or black bow for pvp? black bow seems like it has a way better moveset and if I wanted to harass people at range I'd just use a greatbow

                                  • Anonymous

Didnt realize it was taking somber stones and upgraded to +8 without thinking. So long golem greatbow, it's been real.

This thing chews through arrows. Went through 90 arrows in 5 minutes. Time to pay attention to how many arrows per shot are ticking off

                                      • A quality build's best friend when you lack spells. Outperforms the Longbow due to better scaling. Doing around 320 damage at 50 str and dex. The 10% extra range is just a neat bonus.
                                        Plus it just looks cool.

                                        • Anonymous

The Arrow's Reach Talisman seems to add significant distance to arrows, but using this bow does not. Very disappointing given that it says "much further distances".
