Pulley Crossbow is a Crossbow in Elden Ring. The Pulley Crossbow does not scale with any stat attributes, but requires Strength and Dexterity. It is a good Weapon for those users who prefer to fight their battles from afar. The Pulley Crossbow fires three bolts with one press of the trigger, with a slight spread between bolts.
Crossbow made with pulleys and power springs. The complex mechanism, which required advanced mathematical and mechanical understanding to craft, was likely made by a certain genius who learned Golden Order fundamentalism.
One touch fires a volley of bolts. Be warned; large stores of bolts can be quickly spent.
Where to Find Pulley Crossbow in Elden Ring
The Pulley Crossbow weapon can be found at the following location:

Elden Ring Pulley Crossbow Notes & Tips
- Weapon Skill: Kick
- This weapon fires its bolts with an unusually large upward pitch (tilt). When aiming at mid-range, players should aim lower than usual, aiming at humanoid enemies' chests to land headshots. Leveling Dexterity has been shown to mitigate this effect significantly.
- Due to the this weapon's reliance on multiplicity of shots over a single, powerful shot, landing headshots against low-pose creatures, especially those upright (humanoids etc.), it is often extremely difficult to land all the weapon's shots against the enemy's head, due to their flinch and hurt animations
- This weapon cannot be infused with Ashes of War
- This weapon cannot be enchanted with Magic or boosted with Consumables
- Sell Value: 100
- NOTE: As of Patch 1.09, the scaling values of this weapon were changed. Please refer to the Upgrades Table of this weapon below.
- Due to a bug, when used 1-handed in offhand, this weapon applies any elemental/status buff (spell buff, weapon skill buff, grease) from mainhand weapon (Fixed in Patch 1.05).

So this is what those damn pages use to fire arrows at me...
I'll give them a taste of their medicine.

Pretty awesome for when your a melee and don’t want to invest in mind faith and intelligence. I think it’s cool : D

As an invader this is amazing to use on low level invasions if you use save backups you can have an infinite supply of rot arrows pepper the host with scarlet rot then once it hits run off and put on the mimic veil and wait for the host to die a slow death and unlikely to be able to do anything to stop it I find it works best in early limgrave dungeons and stormveil

This wood grain looks the same as the hilt of the Knight's Greatsword, some lore nerd tell me what that means

Will always shoot in threes, even if you only have one bolt left.

A very viable coop sunbro weapon at low-medium levels: it requires little investment (11/11 with soreseal), it has range, it can help vs bosses immensely especially with blood bolts (which can be bought en masse literally before altus), a nice change from the usual coop gameplay. I had a host perform the jumping from joy emote as I shot the birds in stormveil! It really gives them confidence to have a steady ranged support. And vs the invaders, this punishes vyke jumps and lightning spin to win easily, without requiring much skill (even better if you light roll). If you wanna invade as a ranged build yourself tho, better not use it as a main gun, grab a ballista or a cannon, a shortbow if you have time, or even radahn bow with golem arrows (if you're a cheater)

This is really handy in later NG+ journeys for melee builds. It'll allow you to keep up pressure against bosses that are big targets with lots of HP by applying bleed and rot from a distance, especially ones that make you chase them around big arenas. If you're playing a melee build and struggling with Fire giant, Astel, various dragons, etc., this could be very helpful. It's also great against Malenia during her scarlet aeonia recovery to proc bleed and take a chunk out of her. Luckily burred bolts can be bought in unlimited supply, though rot bone and black key bolts may run dry. Check boss resistances and immunities, I had to use way too many rot arrows on Placidusax for it to proc but bleeding him a couple times without having to chase him into melee was very helpful on NG+3.

Run this and sleepbolts in your offhand with a colossal sword and watch as the hate mail rolls in while your crouching r1 true combos into it
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Hah you still blame about people who spam sleep bolts with this.
Have you ever heard about a greatbow in ds3 that fired gigantic arrows at the rate of 10 arrows per sec with full damage? Can you imagine how it feels to take all those arrows into your face?
- Anonymous
Hate using this thing; but when the short bow, light rolling, sleep arrow guy wants to get cute.. It comes in handy.
- Anonymous
Im in love with this thing to keep the pressure, on bosses and players alike, on my offhand with greataxe
- Anonymous
Does arcane matter on this weapon for applying status effects
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
What happens exactly if you don't meet the weapon requirements?
If I plan on using this crossbow solely for applying poison/scarlet rot, should I even be worried about them?

A moment of silence for all the summons who had to, and probably will continue to have to, watch in futility as their host refuses to stop casting Rock Sling at 200/500 HP while my Pulley Crossbow is out.
- Anonymous
really usefull against radahn just get rot boltsand poison bolts and keep firing while summoning assistance all th etime
- Anonymous
I once got summoned to fight malenia and a guy was playing as a character named commander shepard, wearing black armor and shooting repeatedly from a crossbow inflicting different status effects, completely obliterated her
was this the crossbow he was using?
- Anonymous
You can use this alongside Sleep bolts if you want everyone in PvP to hate you
- Anonymous
Give this to your mimic if you want a not crippled version of latenna that can also proc statuses

How to quickly get friend requests:
Step 1: Off-hand this weapon
Step 2: Main hand a hard hitting weapon of your choice
Step 3: Get an abundance of sleep bolts
Step 4: Partake in some PvP in the Colosseum
Note: Make sure to win, people don't tend to send friend requests if you lose, instead your loss seems invoke people to drop fetid pots on your corpse and use the point down gesture...

This is really good in pvp as an interruptor if youre a straight melee. Elden Stars or U-Frenzy can get wrecked. Sometimes daggers don't cut it

should buff perfumer bolts in addition to the perfumer talisman, i want my triple shot bazooka build god damnit

I summoned someone to help me out with Exzykes (doing a dragon themed build and i need as many hearts as i can get) and the person absolutely decimated them with this thing. His AI wouldnt let him get close enough to attack and the bleed bolts let them absolutely devastate the poor dragon.

Base damage is so garbage u can’t out-damage arbalset while landing 2 out of 3 shots. Pls never use this for dps its a status weapon only

everybody gangsta til the invader pulls out the blood bolt blicky

I just realized something, what if Radagon made the pulley weapons? Miquella could fit but he left the golden order and we see none of his soldiers with this crossbow in the haligtree if I recall. Goldmask wasn't an inventor but a philosopher plus seemingly a pacifist. One guy speculated it was Rykard but he probably never liked the golden order enough to become a fundamentalist plus most of his creations are either sorceries or torture devices. Radagon on the other hand is pretty much THE golden order fundamentalist and if you look closely those golden pages wield this crossbow and they are present in both Leyndell and Raya Lucaria, Radagon's two kingdoms. The crossbow is also a clear red color just like his hair and it would explain why we find them on Mt Gelmir since Rykard is Radagon's son.
- Anonymous
People saying the "certain genius who learned Golden Order fundamentalism" mentioned in this item description is either Goldmask or Miquella. But what if it's simply Rykard? You find all these advanced projectile weapons - Pulley Bow, Pulley Crossbow, Jar Cannon - in the Mt. Gelmir region after all.
Lets also not forget that in order to be a blasphemer, you have to have been a believer before. And indeed, as Gideons informs us, Rykard was once a justiciar and inquisitor. Of what? Of the Golden Order of course. To further support this, his are one of three kinds of spells that require both Faith and Intelligence. The first are Golden Order incantations, the second Death incantations, which are an inversion of the Golden Order, and the third are Rykard's blasphemous sorceries.
Maybe the answer really was right there in front of us the entire time.

Using this to apply rot to large bosses like dragons or the fire giant is fun, really helped me in NG+3. Triple shots of rotbone darts against large targets gets that job done relatively quick from a modest distance. Some bosses like Placidusax are so resistant you may feel it doesn't pay to try, but theoretically they would succumb within 10 shots (30 bolts) from this crossbow.
- Anonymous
Do the bolts still apply status buildup if you do not meet the requirements for the crossbow?
- Anonymous
First you're gonna want to get the Pulley Crossbow and some Rot Darts. Then slap Repeating Thrust and a Blood infusion on the Antspur Rapier. Use Darkness (I know!) and the Crepus Vial or Assassin's Approach for spacing and you've got a lore accurate Confessor that can proc rot in two shots and kill most enemies before they get anywhere near you. Most Two Finger Incantations (lore accuracy) have low requirements, so I keep my Faith at utility level and grow my Dex/Arc. It fun.

The enemies using this need to get removed from the game.
Not only nerfed, but straight up removed.
Fromsoft should have known better than to put garbage bullshit like this into a game.
- Anonymous
It's useless unless you want to kill someone that has 30 hp because you can't do more damage than that using this crossbow.

Unlike ds3 variant this does not recieve any penalty on status infliction. Monster if used with bleed and rot bolts.

I hope the DLC adds more stuff like this and the jar cannon, the more renaissance inspired part of Elden Ring's worldbuilding is really cool and helps to set it apart from the more Dark Ages inspiration of most other fantasy games

Reading the description and taking into context the location of the weapon, as well as the description of the Ghiza's Wheel, I believe Ghiza to be the one who made this crossbow since he would be familiar with gears and mechanisms and would be adept in making painful instruments like burred bolts
I wonder if the genius mentioned in the weapon description could be Miquella. Might be a bit of a stretch, but he studied Golden Order fundamentalism, and according to Gowry is a master artisan whose needles are marvels of craftsmanship. Oh, and the Craftsman Shack where you find this crossbow also has a Miquella's Lily in its backyard. I'm sure it was put there for a reason considering Miyazaki's way of environmental storytelling,

Oh dear. What was it? The mages? The moonveils? Or the horrible bleed? Oh it doesn't matter. It always comes down to the trusty sidearm to clean up after these sorts of messes. Tonight, the pulley crossbow joints the hunt.

This crossbow un-upgraded can often hit foes from afar and not aggro them do to doing 0 damage; use this to your advantage by freely applying a status effect. Works well on the FGFSB in Mt. Gelmir, just shoot a few barrages then ride off after the status procs the aggro.
- Anonymous
This doesn't have the longest range, or the highest damage, it's also horribly inaccurate and chews through bolts like crazy, but I'll be damned if this isn't one of the most fun to use weapons in the game
- Anonymous
Put this in left hand because there put the bow
And maaaaan
Feels like Bloodborne when stop the enemy animation of a skill or atack then slash with pizza cutter xD

Hopefully they fix the bug with this taking on the status of your main weapon.

- Anonymous
So we are now at the stage in elden rings life cycle where everyone uses sleep bolts to counter the other broken bugs in the game.
- Anonymous
Without bugs, bleed bolt makes you kill things you'd otherwise barely tickle.
- Anonymous
It’s a no stat weapon that any build can enjoy. Using a str build. Pump some 3 shot burst frost to freeze, then come in. Or some bleed bolt, really strong status application. Reloading is way faster than I thought it would be.
- Anonymous
A versatile crossbow used in a number of ways, both legit and unintended. With an Eclipse Shotel mainhand, an offhand Pulley Crossbow will apply Deathblight. With Bleed/Rot/Poison bolts, it will apply those statuses amazingly fast. With explosive bolts, it makes a good roll-catcher. Commonly used offhand with Sleep Bolts to put someone to sleep and then Lion's Claw/Giant Hunt them, although I'm trying to personally make it work with mainhand pulley and offhand One-Eyed Greatshield -- will let you know.

For whatever reason I couldn't get the blood flame to work on it

Absolutely excellent weapon; I use it on every one of my characters. It excels in applying status effects, and poison, bleed, and frost bolts are relatively painless to acquire. Put it in your off-hand and you've got a solid backup ranged weapon.
