Summons four putrid corpse spirits
|
Putrid Corpse Ashes is a Spirit and Summon in Elden Ring. Putrid Corpse Ashes are slow and erratic undead beings able to induce some level of poison to Enemies when approached.
Putrid Corpses can also be found as Enemies in Elden Ring. For more information, see Putrid Corpse.
Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell.
Use to summon the spirits of four putrid corpses.
These spirits appear some distance from the summoner. Though their movements are dull and confused, their low moans make them effective at drawing the attention of enemies. True death does not come easily for them.

These guys actually saved my ass against the Valiant Gargoyles

Would have been useful if they blew up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ easily replaced by the way more useful 5 greatshield guys

Apparently, "low moans" > "literally getting whacked by giant sword". Aggro on them is unreal.

Everybody seemingly has a grudge against these guys and will agro onto them for no reason which, combined with their GIANT health pool, makes very effective tanks

just like the comment below me said "They stand around in the corner, moan the whole time and contribute very little to everything that they're part of"
these summon are literally me fr fr

They stand around in the corner, moan the whole time and contribute very little to everything that they're part of.
10/10 just like my friends irl

These guys are incredible for the duo gargoyle fight. They will be summoned right below the second gargoyles cliff so the second it jumps down will agro on and be distracted while you finish the first one.

I thought it was a bug, because they didn't appear in front of me like every other summons (that I've tried). I saw their health pools but not them. On another forum it said they appear at the summons sign and not by the summoner. I tried them by Decaying Ekzeyes, rode around still not seeing them, until finally the dragon started stomping them way the hell away from where I summoned them.
No big deal in a small-ish arena I guess but a bit weird in a larger one.

Most useless ashes I've used don't move from summon location will not attack even when they've drawn aggro with their moans. HUGE waste of FP better spent on firing off a moon or rocks spell. If you're running goal cave for these guys don't waste the stonesword key. Theres a sweet wakasazi that costs 13 dex to use, also useles compared to literally any other starting gear in the game. Including bare handed.

Yo these dudes draw **ALL** the aggro!!!! Enemies completely ignore you while they're out!!

i just read someone who count their hp and turn out they have most hp out of all ashes with each of this guy have 11k hp total of 44k hp with all 4 at +10. Other tank ashes are usually just have 9k hp but each of this guy have 11k hp but these guy literally just stand in middle of the arena doing nothing but hugging their head and screaming lmao.

Are they better then a +10 mimic tear or any of the legendary ashes as far as tanking goes?

They work really well against Full Grown Fallingstar Beast. At +5 he wasn't able kill a single one of these guys.

So on a whim I tried to summon them to fight Loretta in the Haligtree...I couldn't. I've got 82 full FP and was inside the arena.

I used these at +8 against Astel 2: Electric Boogaloo. They spawned in right in his face, super great range and unbelievably tanky.

If you just need ashes to tank and not really do damage, these guys are it. The most HP each out of any ash, but sometimes spawn too far to be useful and move very slow.

40 fp cost, taunts! boss in gaol cave is not so hard so fairly easy to get, and unbelievably tanky!
margit and erdtree horsy have a hard time finishing these guys off at level one, crazy tanky like everybody says.
definitely a MUST TRY! if your character doesn't have high fp.

They tank unbelievably well. My noble ashes kept melting against the watchdogs but these guys tanked them like champs

These guys and the Land Squirts from their respective ashes both spawn in predetermined locations. These locations are denoted by (I believe) the little pillars which tend to have messages on them relating to "but whole". Most areas where you can summon stuff have one -- I believe the exception to this is the smaller boss arenas where they would get in the way, but you should still be able to summon them.
Ok Ive tested them out some and just looking out for it they do very noticeably draw agro. Enemies without provocation will stop fighting you and turn to go beat on these guys.
Their description implies they draw more agro then normal but I have no idea how to test that.

If you’re a squishy character, this will make the game trivial. They alone don’t do much damage, but alone each of the 4 corpses are tanks. If you are having boss problems, these guys will pull the aggro and keep them busy. Yet to find a boss (even multi bosses) that has taken all 4 out.

Tried to summon them and their names and health bars appear on the left but they just dont appear anywhere in the world. Is that a bug or do they need any specific conditions to be summoned?
The description says that they appear a bit further away from the caster but i was waiting for 3 minutes and they dont appear at all.

The gaol cave entrance is near where the meteoric blade is placed on the interactive map, by caelid waypoint ruins. Do these respawn like the skeletons do?
- Anonymous
I got them in a Gaol Cave in Caelid. Once you kill everything after pulling the lever you can find a path that brings you down to a boss. I think i remember it being after falling through a fake floor in one of the branches of the cave. The boss is a barbarian.

One of the best ones in the Game, summons 4 HP punching bags ,I'm talking like 4k hp each at level 1,wish i could rememeber where they was

Drops from Gaol Save in Caelid. You need a stone key to get into the dungeon. Its NE of Fort Gael in a Rot swamp Behind a Rot Mandrake

One of them landed the final hit on radagon, and one survived to the end of the elden beast fight. These guys are absolute METALHEADS.
