Radagon of the Golden Order is a Boss in Elden Ring. This Elden Ring Radagon of the Golden Order Guide features boss locations, tips, strategies and videos on how to defeat Radagon easily, as well as boss stats and lore for Radagon.

Radagon is a tall, fractured god wielding the hammer that shattered the Elden Ring, and is found in the Elden Throne. He was previously married to Rennala, but became Queen Marika's consort after Godfrey was exiled from the Lands Between. Completing Brother Corhyn & Goldmask's quest to a certain point reveals that he is the "other half" of Queen Marika. Despite being of one body, the two do not share the same will, as evident from Radagon attempting to repair the Elden Ring after Marika had shattered it.

This boss is NOT optional as players must defeat him to reach the end of Elden Ring. As with many endgame bosses, Weapons, Incantations, and Spirit Ashes capable of inflicting Black Flame are highly recommended as they deal damage over time based on the boss' maximum HP. Be aware that depleting his health completely immediately takes you into the cutscene leading to the final boss fight - Elden Beast. If you die to the Elden Beast, you are required to fight Radagon again before reaching it.

Bosses are unique and challenging Enemies that can be encountered all over the Lands Between. Shardbearers drop their own unique Great Rune and Remembrance capable of being transformed into powerful Weapons, Spells, Ashes of War, and Talismans for the player.

As the husband of Rennala of Caria, the red-haired Radagon studied sorcery, and as the husband of Queen Marika, he studied incantations.

Thus did the hero aspire to be complete.

Absorptions

The absorption numbers are the % of your damage that gets blocked. For example, if an absorption is 60, 40% of that damage by that type will go through and 60% is absorbed. Bigger number = less damage. An absorption of 100 means no damage goes through, and a resistance of -100 mean the enemy takes 2x damage from that source. 0 means damage goes pretty much as is.

Resistances

The resistance numbers are the buildup amount to trigger it. For example, if a resistance is 100 you must deal 100 points of whatever aux buildup to trigger it. Note that these go down over time, and increase each time the effect procs.

Radagon of the Golden Order Fight Strategy

The Best Tips for Radagon of the Golden Order:

Melee Users

At the beginning of the fight, you can run toward him and safely make an attack or two (depending on weapon speed).

Radagon is vulnerable to stance damage. If you're consistent about applying it, then he can be stance-broken 3 times in this fight, giving you a much-needed break to reapply buffs, drink flasks, or stack more damage. Heavy thrusting swords like Dragon King's Cragblade can guard counter quickly, which is useful since taking advantage of his openings is much more difficult with slower weapons like Bloodhound's Fang. Most of his moves have long recovery time, which will let you get in a jumping heavy attack or charged attack.

Use Godskin magics, like Black Flame Blade. As stated in the Godskin Prayerbook, Godskin incantations were created to kill Gods such as Radagon.

The biggest melee threat in Radagon's arsenal is his grab. When his arm starts glowing, he starts readying a lunge grab, which has limited tracking and a generous hitbox. In testing, this move killed from full health at 50 Vigor, using Lionel's Set and damage reduction talismans. His grab has a medium lunge that can be outrun. Begin sprinting away as he starts his grab, and it will never hit you. Alternatively, his grab can be reliably dodged by rolling into him.

Recommended talismans for melee users: Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman, Haligdrake Talisman, Green Turtle Talisman. This combo will let you tank a few of his hits with as little chip damage as possible. He'll often hit you even if you roll past him, thanks to his backswing, so it's important to keep as much health and stamina as possible to follow up on his openings. The Crimson Seed Talisman will stretch each flask further in this marathon of a final boss.

Magic and Ranged Users

At the beginning of the fight, you can hit him with two fast- or medium-casting spells (although sometimes he parries the second), or one slow-casting spell.

When fighting Radagon at range, there are two major threats - maybe three. The first is his big ground slam. This is easily identified by him leaping into the air and hovering for a bit. Reflexes say dodge when this hits the ground but that is the last thing you want to do. It's not so much a typical AoE attack as it is a nova. So, the attack spreads out. You want to dodge after he hits. It might take a try or two to get this one figured out. The second major one is when he charges up his hammer and slams it three times in a row for big fan-shaped explosions. Much like the first, this one has some deceptiveness built in. It is not a 100% fan that hits everywhere it lights up. It actually fires out several trails, one of which goes right towards you. This becomes super easy to dodge once you realize this because all you need to do is dodge backward (or forward) at 45-60 degree angle and he'll miss with all of them.

One note about the first slam is that it might feel like a good time to get in some damage, and it is, but don't get caught with your pants down and in a big animation. Even if he looks like he might attack a spirit or friend, he has a tendency to change targets while up in the air and gives little warning!

The third major thing to watch out for is his lightning bolt. However, this one doesn't have much in the way of trickery, but getting the timing down might take a try or two.

Once you can reliably avoid these three things the rest of it is pretty easy in terms of defense. The biggest trouble is finding the time to get the hits in. Something with a quick animation is your friend, but he is also prone to losing/switching aggro so you can hit him with something big here and there. He also seems to maintain a fairly steady tempo, so his wind-up/wind-down/recovery between attacks feels consistent and can help you get an idea for when to attack.

As for what he is weak to? Good question! Testing would be required, but he seems to take a lot of damage from most things. Glintstone Icecrag hits him really hard, and Stars of Ruin can do some work if you need a bit more range. Hitting him with Ranni's Dark Moon when he loses aggro can give you a little boost in damage going forward thanks to its magic resistance reduction. Quite frankly, he takes a lot of damage and could even be considered fairly squishy, but he has a tendency to take you out of the fight before you can capitulate - or he'll do enough damage to you that you go into the next round without as many resources as you may need. Note that Radagon will not use his ranged damage reducing move against night sorceries, making something like night comet good to bring along

One thing I did find is that Black Knife Tiche (bless her soul) is as good against him she is against most bosses. Her rot-blade or whatever nonsense she flings around can easily take 20% of his Hp by the time its DoT runs out, so she is a good one to use. She's also durable enough that she will last through both fights without issue.

With a little luck and some good timing, you can eliminate Radagon inside a minute, if not quicker, leaving you with just the follow-up fight to deal with. As a sorcerer, that one feels like a lot bigger threat!

For incantation users, Black Flame and Lightning Spear are both effective punishers. Radagon also seems to be vulnerable to the Frenzied Flame spells. Frenzied Burst is highly recommended due to it's long range. For the second phase against Elden Beast, Pest Threads (at close range) deals heavy damage to large targets such as the Beast.

Radagon of the Golden Order Attacks & Counters

Attack Description Counter
Radagon’s
Spear
Radagon leaps up and throws a large holy spear towards the player, which lingers before exploding. Jump over or dodge to the side and keep distance from the bolt until it explodes
Holy Spear Fan Radagon throws five small holy spears in front of him in a fan formation, which linger on the ground before exploding. He may also use this while airborne, and can repeat the attack multiple times. Dodge forward through them.
Grab Radagon's missing arm materializes with golden light, raising it before grabbing his target with a shockwave, before beginning to slam them with his hammer. The shockwave itself also deals damage. The timing on this one is strange the attack lags and leaves you prone to panic rolling. Wait about two and a half seconds and then roll into Radagon.
Parry Stance Radagon raises his left arm as sort of protection. In this state he will deflect range/melee attacks with 1-2 HP damage at max and retaliate, either with Holy Spear Fan or Grab, Avoid atacking, when parry stance is active.
Charge Swing Radagon charges towards the player with their hammer held out to the right. Dodge into Radagon.
Gold Breaker Radagon jumps into the air, hovers for a moment as his hammer glows, then lunges down towards the player, creating a explosion. Dodge towards Radagon as he lunges down. This avoids the AOE pulse of the attack, making it much easier to avoid.
Elden Shattering This attack occurs when Radagon is around 50% health. After teleporting to the center of the arena, Radagon imbues his hammer before slamming the ground three times, with each strike creating a larger shockwave that travels across the ground. The last strike creates the symbol of the Elden Ring on the ground. Run away or dodge into it.
Draining Field Radagon manifests a holy spear and slams it down, creating a field that drains health when one stands in it. Dodge and move away.
Imbued Hammer Slam Radagon imbues his hammer and slams it downward, creating a large shockwave. He often uses this during his combos Dodge into it.
Imbued Hammer Wave Radagon imbues his hammer and swipes it across from him, creating a damaging wave that travels forward and explodes shortly afterward. Often used at the end of his many combos. He can use this attack while airborne. Dodge to the sides.
Teleport Radagon teleports away, creating a shockwave everytime he reappears, dealing minor damage This is arguably the most irritating attack, as it can be chained quite often. Just dodge away from it.
Stomp Lifts his foot up and slams it down quickly. Often used before or during one of his melee combos. He may also imbue this attack to create a large explosion of holy energy. Roll away, as this move is often followed up with another one of his attacks.

Radagon Lore, Notes & Other Trivia

  • Originally Radagon's lyrics were all in Latin, but the music production team decided to make them untranslatable just like in the other boss songs, as a result only few Latin words ended up in the official lyrics of the Final Battle theme. This was confirmed by Youtuber Antonius Tertius (aka redditor MAGISTER ORGANI) who contacted the singers and music producers of Elden Ring and published the lyrics and backstage information regarding the music production of the game on Youtube.
  • The Final Battle theme was originally named Marika, which suggests that the developers probably had sketched a Marika boss fight; this information also comes from Youtuber Antonius Tertius, the one who contacted the music producers and singers of Elden Ring.
  • Upon using the Law of Regression incantation on a statue in Leyndell Royal Capital, a message will appear saying "Radagon is Marika," showing the connection between the two.
  • The description for Marika's Hammer says that Marika shattered the Elden Ring, while Radagon attempted to fix it, suggesting that the two halves are in conflict with each other.
  • In the introduction to Elden Ring the two halves are shown, Marika shattering the ring and Radagon attempting to repair it.
  • According to Fromsoft player stats, Ragadon is the 4th most fought boss in Elden ring. With a Whopping 148 million attempts by players worldwide. - Elden Ring Stats Reveal How Many Times Players Attempted Malenia

Did you know Radagon's larger projectiles are homing? When he shoots one, roll to the side, and marvel at the curved sparkle path it leaves behind. Small ones could be homing too.

      • Radagon can arguably be considered a bit harder than Elden Beast if you haven't been practicing jumping as another dodging maneuver. I would argue that he's got way too many roll-catch AoE attacks. The only hard part about Elden Beast is the fact that time in its boss fight is spent more on chasing it rather than actually fighting it.

I find it simply odd that you have to respec for a single boss at the end of the game if you've made a build that works up until then

          • Anonymous

I like this boss, fun fight, awesome score but I just wish he was harder. Don't get me wrong he's still a challenge but i feel he is too easy for a final boss

            • Anonymous

Bro made some kids with his sister, who he probably shares a body with, and was surprised about celestial genetic defects, all that studying and he still could not smith his own order after doing a double betrayal. At least he is a chad and uses a hammer to stomp noobs. The only redemption arc he has is making dex/arc abusers eat the sidewalk.

Yo, when are we gonna talk about how this boss straight up starts as a woman, then becomes a man for the fight, then becomes a woman again for the ending? I know the story, I know the lore, but this gender play stuff Miyazaki has been doing since DS1 and maybe prior is so interesting to me. Like, they’re the same person? How? I think it has to do with the “Law of Regression”, and the ideas of convergence, vows, creation, and the idea that rocks and trees, REAL primordial life, don’t really for have genders and seeing Marika switch between them ties into that I think. Like, we can look at the literal magic at play, but in these games every theme is wrapped around some fantasy concept, this gender swapping with tree mommy/daddy for the final boss of this epic game weirdly gets slept on I feel.

Okay, I can tolerate people crying about them having to run 20 minutes in Elden Beast's (smart boss who doesn't let you outchug and outtrade it like all other non-gimmick bosses in the series), but trashing Radagon hits different. Just how lazy can you be. Easily one of the most balanced fights and his moveset is much easier than that of Soul of Cinder.

I have both good and bad memories of this boss
Good: One time I got summoned for this boss and the host and other summon just watched me obliterate him, it was kinda funny just seeing them in the background just looking at me and the boss and then at each other every once in a while.
Bad: teleport X5 into draining field X2 into spear into another spear into spear-fan into teleport into instant poke into instant grab because i was summoned by a spamming mage. (or someone uses dragon breath the whole fight and i can't even see the boss, literally having to guess)
Another bad: felt like other summon was trying their absolute hardest to get me and the host killed, absolutely no spacial awareness, and making elden shattering cover the entire map (this has happened many times).
Fun boss when you aren't being cheesed by the boss, or being pseudo ganked by your own teamates.

Chose prophet starting class and catch flame carried me from the beginning of the game to almost the very end (no good for elden beast). Combusted all over this sexy mfer and he died practically in seconds!

Melee range I get hit by aoe and he teleports. Ranged he starts slining spells, spears and that stupid jump into the air move all stagger and are aoe. drink flasks and he starts flining spells or jumps across the arena and hits you with your hammer. I dodge into him but usally my character goes to the side so still get hit. He never stops attacking so I can't do anything other jump attacks. spells are useless, too long to cast with the constant spam. I beat godfrey in 4 tries and I can't even get this guy below 50%.

If you have a hard time with Radagon's slam dunk, try i-framing using Vow of the Indomitable (Shield AoW). This particularly useful for Gold Breaker, and Elden Shattering. FP-intensive maneuver, but it is the easiest way to workaround his attack.

Pest threads..... TO heck with any individual weapon, repeated casting of the Pest Threads spell up-close is the most consistent DPS to use against the Elden Beast. Perhaps not the highest, but it'll hit if your in range and can do a couple thousand damage if your stats are high enough. Flying around dodging and weaving, can't save it if the spell homes in like a dozen guided mini-missiles :D

i like the mechanics and the way of dodge them. What i dont like is when He is changing targer in mid of a combo. I cant do that either. Animation skip for all or no one ;D

My favorite character and boss fight in the entire game. It's a shame it's ruined by the cardio workout afterwards.

Good boss, but I feel like it would be better if the entrance to the Elden beast would be like the entrance to placidusax, where you have to approach the boss to start the fight. Would be good time to heal/regen fp and stuff.

Great. This boss is a complete hardcounter to my current build. Nearly impossible to even get to the second phase.

This is the most terribly balanced FS game ever.

i still cant believe that one of my characters beat this boss(es) second try but my other character is having a hard time lol... (glad miazaki nerfed Radagon bc he is just a pain in the butt dart)

I agree that he is a great boss made annoying by the fact that you have to fight the whale right after. And your success against the whale is greatly dependent on how persistent Radagon chooses to be. Sometimes he’ll do his usual things and other times he starts spamming teleport like there’s no tomorrow and chaining 5 to 6 AoE attacks in a row.
I had 1 really good run against him and that was it, whale was kill.

Ok, unpopular opinion but I genuinely think this guy is worse than Elden beast. The fact Elden beast runs is a bit underwhelming and drags on but it's flashy, cool, it feels like a final boss. This mf's entire fight is "Dodge to the side of me or you'll die instantly" There is no other counter from my experience. Elden beast would have been fine on its own and so would Radagon, but putting one behind the other just makes both of them feel worse overall. If they were just separate bosses, it'd be fine, but no.
Thank you Elden ring for putting 2 cool bosses together to SOMEHOW make both the bosses feel shitty.

Another guy in this thread got invaded during Radagon fight and asked if this was a glitch or exploit. I said that it was a glitch and after looking into that a bit, I think that this was the result of unknowingly performing the unbound invasions glitch.

Unbound invasions glitch is exactly what it says on a tin. It's a glitch that allows to invade in areas normally restricted from it, such as Volcano Manor, Carian Study Hall or even Evergaols.
In order to perform it, you need to invade right as the host crosses multiplayer fog wall or does something that would block invasions, such as entering a boss fight or an Evegaol. As far sa I'm aware, there's no way to perform it consistently unless the host cooperates. I was testing on the stone platform with the final boss and I managed to invade during the bossfight, but only once.
If you are the host and wish to perform the unbound invasions glitch with random invaders, then the best way to do it more or less consistently would be putting Recusant Finger or Bloody Finger on your hotbar. The moment the finger greys out, cross the multiplayer fog wall. However do keep in mind that, apparently, the timing is very tight.
Also, it seems that not all multiplayer fogs can be bypassed. The Colosseum fog apparently fails any invasions, as do entrances to dungeons\catacombs.

As I already said, most likely invasions during bossfights are a result of unknowingly performing this glitch. If it ever happened to you, then most likely you invaded or got invaded right as you were entering the bossfight. There's a video on youtube about it by BeeFuzz, but I said most of what was in it in the comment.

So Radagon and Marika are brother and sister. And husband and wife. And the same person. And have three children. Nice.

                                                  • Anonymous

"Oh Marika, hi there, I will put you down from that th- oh, you did yourself.
...wait, why are your hair turning red?
                                                    Where are your b**bs?
                                                    Why are rising your hammer?
Red hair and an hammer? Did you became a communist?"

                                                    • The fact that you can’t party any of his hammer attacks is bull****, it’s not the most insane thing you can parry in the series. And this fight has a second phase to it. So being able to parry his melee attacks won’t make the fight trivial like it did with gwyn.

                                                      • Anonymous

I was just helping a host with Radagon/Elden Beast, and a Bloody Finger invaded while we were fighting Radagon. Started spamming spells at us and even transitioned to the Elden Beast arena before I put him down. Is this an exploit, or just a weird glitch?

                                                        • Anonymous

So how the fck Marika and Radagon have the same body but still manage to bear 3 children?? Rule34 has to study this case quick!!

This man can parry every individual creamy, sticky thread of pest threads. And how it looks from the side lmfao. Radagon the Fastest Hand of the Lands Between.
I'm honestly sad that he can't parry scarlet aeonia. Imagine, you land on him and he just flings you away like a ball. That would be the funniest **** in the game. He can parry the moon though, fortunately, albeit it does still chips him a little bit. With his track record of fighting, marrying, having children with and divorcing the moon it would've been strange if he couldn't parry it. Bet he can parry the child support too.

I honestly would've liked Radagon's spell deflect to be an incantation, same for Morgie's summoned weapons. Like a faith alternative to Thops' barrier & carian sword sorcery\gavel of Haima.

Ra Dagon is fine and all but Elden beast, this guy is the worst boss hands down. STOP RUNNING AND HEALING YOU PIECE OF #####

Is he supposed to be able to make his gab attack very fast as well as with the long delay? I have yet to beat him. I feel like after fighting him dozens of time, he is suddenly launching the grab very fast. I'm not crazy here: the grab used to have this crazy roll-catch delay. Now, it often fires as soon as he cocks his elbow. The difference is really obvious, and then he hits me in the crotch with his hammer.

                                                                • Anonymous

You’d think ripostes would do a ton more damage to him considering you’re literally stabbing the elden ring

                                                                  • Anonymous

Like 90% of these fights are rather quick (and no, I’m not using bleed or magic. ) but this boss is one of the tankest bosses in the game with out fire and Elden beast is just one of the tankest. And the game doesn’t have any other fight that quite this tanky. I wouldn’t complain as much if they at least prepared by having bosses with larger HP bars before this one.

                                                                    • Anonymous

Teleport explosion into exploding throwing spear into exploding shards into another exploding throwing spear which covers up another exploding teleport into an exploding throwing spear with damage zone attached. Can't say anything about Radagon, I've never fought him.

                                                                      • Anonymous

I would just like to mention it feels a little odd that there's basically a boss rush leading up to him.

I think they expect you to do other things between each one, but I'm curious as to how many people immediately do Maliketh, Gideon, Godfrey, and Radagon/Elden in a row like I do.

Once the Erdtree gets torched, I don't really feel like sticking around. What is there even left to do?

                                                                        • Anonymous

                                                                          • Anonymous

                                                                            • So let me get this straight, Marika is a shape shifter that once upon a time separated her other form from herself into another being then mated with that being and had the twins Miquella and Malenia who were born with godly afflicted curses as a result. Props to Miyazaki for adding weird yet interesting lore to his games hahaha.

                                                                              • Anonymous

                                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                                  - Well-timed attacks, not relying on delays as a crutch (looking at your Morgott)

Note: Approaching Leyndell there’s a site of Grace with a name that’s something like: “phantom tree”, at it a tree looking like a larger version of the trees you get golden seeds from, and giving two

Note: the golden seed item description: “A golden seed, found at the base of an illusory tree.

Idea: The Erdtree produced seeds that produced illusions. Perhaps like children like parent? Though the minor Erdtrees aren’t well explained under this.

Note: Leyndell pre present burning is already covered in heaps and heaps of ash

Note: the blessed dew talisman description: “Talisman depicting a drop of the Erdtree's sap, a blessed boon.

Note: the minor Erdtrees will still give us crystal tears. Just not the major Erdtree.

Conclusion: the erdtree was already burned once before. Ending the abundance, and leaving an illusion behind. Just like what we do, in the Elden lord endings the tree stops burning and the illusion part reflects the current configuration of the Elden ring.

Note: the opening to the erdtree there’s a jarring part that still looks like real wood, perhaps not a bug but a detail, the tree wasn’t all burned and destroyed.

Note: in the frenzied flame ending there’s still a stump left behind. It could come back still.

Credit: I never considered the ash already in Leyndell before watching a video by “Smough Town”.

Note: the Elden ring has Radagons signature waffle pattern all over it. See the ring.

Note: the law of regression statue challenge done in Leyndell. “Marika is radagon”.

Note: Marika has blacksmith Hewg in the roundtable hold forging a god slaying armament. Dialogue: “"Your divinity, have mercy, and grant me forgiveness. The road is yet long. A God is not easily felled. But one day, without fail, you will have your wish. So please, grant me forgiveness, Queen Marika...”

Conclusion: Radagon burned the erdtree ending the abundance by extent, and then he embedded a rune into the ring, the waffle pattern looking rune of convergence. Merging with Marika. He fights us and blocks us to stop us from usurping his order. But they’re not entirely the same person. And Marika she wants to be free, she doesn’t have autonomy anymore, we see it in the endings too, her order was stolen away from her, and we use her in the Elden lord endings. So she shattered the ring trying to separate herself, which doesn’t work, and he fights. So she tasks the smith to make a weapon who can kill him and/or kill herself.

Extra: in a Zullie the Witch video they note the name in the files for the misbegotten refers to Radagon. “RadagonChimera” I want to say. And that one carries his matrimonial sword. Potentially hinting this theory once had even more evidence, the misbegotten easily demonstrate converge, and red hair.

Note: the Red Wolf of Radagon has an attack were in its mouth appears a sword, a sort of red gold looking sword.

Note: Ordovis’s great sword: “This sword is imbued with an ancient holy essence.
Its red tint exemplifies the nature of primordial gold, said to be
close in nature to life itself.”

Idea: perhaps in development red gold was associated with Radagon, and has alteration to the golden order, fitting his famous association with red by his hair, and all of his known children’s hair. But perhaps they created the crucible later, moving red gold and the misbegotten to be related to it instead.

Radagon is one of the best bosses in this game brought down massively by the fact that to beat the ****ing game you have to beat one of the worst bosses in this game straight after Radagon with your drained resources from doing Radagon, or else you have to do him all over again. It’s fake, cheap difficulty. The issue here is the Elden Beast, but Radagon just becomes the runback to that fight. Honestly a lot of playthroughs I just beat Radagon then don’t bother with Elden Beast. Too bad I don’t get to see the ending of the game but… eh.

                                                                                      • Anonymous

YOU may not get hit, but the other players probably will, as him constantly turning makes his attacks hard to predict.

                                                                                        • Anonymous

                                                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                                                    1. This dude does NOT bleed. Nada, zilch. He's stone. Forget about flies, Mohg spear, Rivers, Varré mask. Just no.

                                                                                                    2. When he hammers the ground three times, LET HIM. Don't attack his back while he's aiming at a phantom. He will turn around to you and oneshot you. Attack him AFTER he's done hammering.

These are the two most common mistakes hosts make. Almost every time. And they die to these mistakes almost every time, too. Honestly, this should be pinned to his main article. Follow these two rules and you have much better chances of beating him.

                                                                                                    • Anonymous

On top of everything else, half his attacks flash grenade the screen, putting shining gold lights in between you and your character so you can't see anything. And there's no setting to turn down the brightness of things like this so you get to fight part of this fight blind.

                                                                                                      • Anonymous

Wish you could get his holy spears as an incantation! Love how they look, both the big one and little ones.

                                                                                                        • Anonymous

At least Elden Beast doesn't force you to use anything slower than a charged heavy. Radagon with his damage and attack speed just negates most of the incantions, magics and skills that leave you open for too long.

                                                                                                          • Anonymous

You people should be thanking Hidetaka Miyazaki and the Elden Ring Team that you get to experience action-combat game-design on this level in your lifetimes.

This boss was incredible and represents the culmination of game-design experience From Software has gained over many successful franchises and series. Excellent aesthetic, excellent lore and background, excellent mechanics. This boss was a treat to face as the climactic pinnacle to this wonderful game, and as a veteran Soulsborne player I could not have asked for more than this and Elden Beast.

                                                                                                            10/10

If you want to do some absurd amounts of damage to this guy Dex Faith build with dual wield Flame Art Erdsteel Daggers, Flame Scorpion Charm, Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear on your Wonderous Physick, Rotten Wing Sword Insignia/ Millicent Prosthesis and Flame Grant me Strength Incantation. The boss is fun though, so I recommend fighting it on more equal grounds on anyone's first playthrough.

                                                                                                              • Anonymous

If you want to shred through this thing a Dex Faith build dual wielding two Flame Art Erdsteel Daggers blends him into Paste. Using flame buffing incantations, Fire Scorpion Charm, Any Talisman that buffs successive attacks and Wonderous Physik with Flaming Shrouding Crack Tear will massively amp the Damage making this boss a joke.

                                                                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                                                                  • Anonymous

They need to spread them around so it's not just a miserable monotonous chore to figure out 2 whole movesets AND take the hours of practice to learn a strategy. I'm ok with the boss designs but putting them together is just cheap bs.

                                                                                                                    • Anonymous

Basically, just spam the ashes until he is dead, heal if necessary... Works even in NG +11.

                                                                                                                      • Anonymous

It was an unforgiving but fair fight imo. Learning to dodge waterfowl was satisfying and a real vigor check. This guy though... the whole fight just feels like it's a holy res check.
A constant barrage of piss coloured laser beams and aoe slams. very nice. oh, and after all that, he just gives birth to a spirited away looking mother f*cker who pushes the spam into overdrive all over again

Honestly that fight was so underwhelming. I expected the inside of the erdtree to look more interesting than a grey void, I expected Marika/Radagon to have at least a single line of dialogue and I didnt expect 2nd phase to be goofy looking dragon variation that wastes so much of your time by swimming away.

                                                                                                                                  • Anonymous

From a lore perspective, I find it fascinating that Radagon is both a very important part of the story but also almost completely irrelevant. He feels like an afterthought at best. No one even asks themselves what happened to Lord Radagon after the Shattering. He was like, the second Elden Lord, literally the second most important authority figure in the Lands Between after Queen Marika, a supposedly great champion, the founder of the Golden Order fundamentalist teachings that mixed knowledge and faith, and yet... the thing he's most remembered for is his red hair, which he apparently disliked it? Miriel even says nobody knew why Marika even thought of him as an option for husband because he was just "a mere champion". Every child he has seem to surpass him in fame and prestige and achievements. Hell, there's a ghost in Leyndell, after you burn the Erdtree, that is celebrating the return of their Lord... Godfrey. The guy that had his grace taken from him by his own wife and was exiled. People remember Godfrey better and more fondly than they do Radagon.

And at the end of it all... he ends up as a ruined, mindless husk, his body a very literal weapon in the hands of the gods. I'm just... what was even the point of his existence? It truly feels like if you take Radagon out of the picture and just say Rennala had three children with some unknown dude and Marika appeared pregnant one day with Miquella and Malenia (and Melina...?), the story would flow exactly the same.

I'll prolly get crucified for saying this but wtv. I had more fun fighting Malenia. This boss sucks ass. It's not as difficult as Malenia, but it truly just became boring enough to the point that I didn't even feel gratified when I finally beat it. I genuinely believe Malenia was a fun fight compared to this lame excuse of a final boss. Add the fat worm at the end and you truly have one of the most disappointing final bosses in gaming.
