The Redmane Knight is a Humanoid Enemy in Elden Ring who serves under the regime of General Radahn. Redmane Knights are encountered within the region of Caelid, equipped with their signature Redmane Knight Set.

The spirit of the longest-serving Redmane Knight can be summoned for aid in battle by using the Redmane Knight Ogha Ashes.

Knights who fought by General Radahn's side. Their red plumes is a symbol of Radahn's pedigree as Lord Radagon's son - the mane of the proud Red Lion.

Elden Ring Redmane Knight Locations

Redmane Knights can be found in Caelid at the following locations:

  • One knight can be found with a few Redmane Soldiers in a small camp southwest of the Smoldering Wall site of grace.
  • Two knights can be found at Fort Gael. One has a Greatbow that shoots barrages of magic arrows as you approach the fort. Another can be found inside the fort near the top. [Map Link]
  • One knight on horseback can be found between the Caelid Catacombs and the Impassable Greatbridge site of grace.
  • Three knights can be found separately in Castle Redmane. One located outside at the base of the wooden siege tower containing the ballista. One on top of a building connected to the southern ramparts. One found on a building on top of the entrance to the plaza, reached by entering the tower past the Abductor Virgin.
  • A spectral version of the knight can be found in War-Dead Catacombs

Redmane Knight Notes & Tips

  • Redmane Knights have the typical knight moveset, but with a few additional tactics:
    • Redmane Knights equipped with Knight's Greatswords will use the Ash of War: Lion's Claw skill, which performs a forward somersault into an overhead strike that slams the weapon on the ground.
    • Redmane Knights equipped with Partisans are capable of using the Ash of War: Giant Hunt skill, which performs a powerful lunging thrust capable of launching a vulnerable player, or violently shoving a guarding player backwards.
    • All Redmane Knights are capable of using the Ash of War: War Cry skill while on foot, which boosts their physical damage output for a short time. The shout they produce while initiating this buff deals no physical damage, but can deal stamina damage if the player has their shield up close to the knight, which can lead to the player's guard being broken.
    • If equipped with a Greatbow:
      • Fire a charged gravitational arrow.
      • The knight at Fort Gael can fire a rain of gravitational arrows.
    • Mounted Redmane Knights are capable of using an ability similar to the Ash of War: Flame of the Redmanes. Instead of couching their spear for a thrust like most mounted knights, they will sometimes hold it in both hands and fling a large explosive fireball at range. They lose this ability once they have been dismounted.
  • The Partisans wielded by Redmane Knights in and around Redmane Castle are permanently set aflame, dealing bonus fire damage.

I dont know If its a bug, but while fighting the greatbow Variant at fort Gael, i made him fall during the fight while he has using the greatbow, when i chased him, he was holding the greatbow with one hand and trying to hit me with a spectral greatsword equipesd in the other hand, after he missed the charge, the Sword vanished Just like morgit the Fell do.

First thing i said when fighting this guy the first time was "look at this dude" and then 3 seconds later "OH MY GOODNESS ITS FREAKING ARTORIAS!" then I die.

The one on horseback near Redmane Castle can use Flame of the Redmanes on horseback, which is a nasty surprise if you're used to the other cavalry knights just cueing up the charging stab attack.

Lore question, anybody find a definitive reason as to why Radahn's soldiers are hostile to us? For instance, Godrick knights are specifically ordered to hunt tarnished, Cuckoo knights are lawless marauders, Leyndell knights are under orders from Morgott, Haligtree knights, meh.... But Redmane knights? They're loyal to Radahn, which means they're probably loyal to Jerren, acting commander of Redmane castle. And Jerren wants Radahn to die an honorable death. So why would Jerren's soldiers attack visitors directly outside of Redmane castle? Or indeed at any of their outposts? I can't find a definitive explanation anywhere, only speculation.

Wait a minute, do they *all* have a chance to drop the Redmane Knight Armor set? The ones at the War-Dead Catacombs don't seem to drop anything and I've been farming the place for a long time.

I've noticed that these guys, if wielding greatswords, will occasionally do Artorias's front-flip attack. I don't suppose there's a unique Ash of War for that somewhere in the world?

Anyone know if the redahn knight on the horse in front of the castle with the fire spear drops the weapon?

I was finally able to get the greatbow off the knight at Fort Gael after many tries, he dropped various redmane armor as well, 3-4 times he dropped nothing.

Just bait the one near impassable bridge into fighting one of the hounds and its an easy kill. Repeat until you get the armor/weapons.

These guys are honestly tougher than Cleanrot Knights, they got hyperarmor, poise, damage and health. unlike the scrawny valkyries that are very easy to stunlock

Do they drop or do I have to find the helmet I've been killing the knights for an hours no helm or greaves drop

Does really every goddamn enemy in this game have to have a ****ing roll catch. I am sick and tired of getting endless comboed by every single enemy in this game

Just wanted to confirm that the knight w/ flaming sword at redmane castle drops his redmane knight armor. Did so first try using silver fowl foot, will update if he drops his weapon
