PassiveRaptor Talons is a Claw in Elden Ring. The Raptor Talons scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity and is a good Weapon for dealing an extra blood loss effect on top of the initial Physical Damage this weapon causes. Its a lightweight piece and can be equipped on both hands.
Claw comprised of two sharp, thin blades, wielded by the assassins of Ravenmount, this weapon allows them to imitate the attacks of Deathbirds.
Besides excelling at airborne attacks, its charge attack mimics the vicious swoop of a bird of prey.

The Raptor Talons weapon can be found at the following location:

Elden Ring Raptor Talons Notes & Tips
- These Claws have unique R2's. Uncharged and charged R2's hit twice when 2-handed. The first R2 will leap forward when fully charged while the second R2 will make you jump backwards regardless of whether you're 1-handing or 2-handing.
- As stated in the weapon's description, this weapon excels in airborne attacks. mechanics or modifiers regarding this statement have been noticed but further testing is needed given conflicting statements. (A commenter tested this and says a 55% increase in jumping attack damage and higher poise damage) With the hookclaws modified to have the same AR, Raptor Talons only dealt 10% more damage.
- Despite how the fully charged R2's look, jump attack enhancing items (e.g. Claw Talisman, etc) do not work on these attacks.
- Weapon Skill: Quickstep
- This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War and buffed with Magic and Consumables
- Raptor Talons can be upgraded by using Smithing Stones
- Causes blood loss buildup

AnonymousIt seems we have mixed opinions here about if these actually increase jump attack damage or not, and I don't know the answer.
However, they (and maybe all claws) ARE excellent for jump attack 1shot builds. Everyone seems to be using them on bleed/consecutive attack builds. But I've had incredible success in invasions and duals running them on a keen build and going for big hits instead (seems counter intuitive on claws, but stay with me).
60 vig, minimum endurance, everything else in dex. Raptor talons, raptor cloak, claw talisman, ritual sword talisman, blue dancer charm, crimson amber medalion (flex slot). And light roll with as little equipload as possible (for blue dancer). I just wear the claws, the cloak, and the page trousers. You'll get more damage pantless, BUT the element of surprise is important here, so that can give away the strategy.
And then the key ingredient is Royal Knights Resolve. Due to the unique interaction between this AOW and twinned weapons you get absurd damage, and so with everything else combined (+exalted flesh if you want), you hit crazy numbers on a jumping heavy. Assuming 60 vigor, medium and light armoured opponents always get 1-shot, while heavy armour opponents get taken to the point where they can easily be finished off with fan daggers, or any of your quick claw attacks. In general I find that about 70% of the people I invade die in one hit, and I bet that could be higher on a lower level build (I'm 125)
Honestly I'd feel dirty using it if it wasn't a homebrew build. But ****, try it out, it's fun.

I get one shot sometimes in PvP with people using this weapon or a weapon that looks exactly like it. I am not sure how that happens with 40+ vigor, but yeah, one hit and I die. I've learned to live with it. I love this game.

Whats up guys, try this playstyle. These claws on your left hand, ash of war is Bloodhound step. Right hand, bloodhounds fang. Ronin set with omensmirk mask, light weigh. And there you have it, a swiftly, abysswatcher like, ninja. My current setup and its SUPER fun.

Also important to note for pve that this claws actually stagger heavy enemies such as knights and omens with uncharged strong attacks even while one handed, unlike other claws.
These + Bloodflame Blade + Storm Stomp -> uncharged R2 = True Combo that deals 158 Bleed. I haven't tested with Occult yet, but regardless these are pretty good in both PvE and PvP.

I used these before the buffs, and even then this was strong! A dex build with min stats for bloodflame blade can do huge damage AND great bleed build up with these, and with claw talisman and raptor's black feathers, you will be set for majority of the game

Starting using these and an offhand Venomous Claw with Flaming Strike, the Raptor Talons Frost Infused with Raptor of the Mists and I have no regrets. Even on my measley Level 15 with +0 Weapons anything that can be Poisoned, Bled, Frostbitten or isn't incredibly resistant to Fire gets eviscerated in seconds. Highly recommend trying!

The special R2 alone easily makes these the best claws, 2 hits vs 1 uncharged, and 3 vs 2 charged with increased range which is key for claws

I'm loving these claws. The non-charged R2 is great for staggering with the charges having some great mind game potential in PvP, hits rapidly to inflict bleed and of course synergizes with jumping attacks very well. Can go with a variety of builds, too: Rocking an Int/Dex build so you can infuse these with Cold and get even more out of them.
If you really want to max out your Raptor RP, throw on Raptor of the Mist. I don't think that particular Ash is very good, but it is really fun and has some surprising applications.

Similar to what many here have said, after adjusting for AR, the Raptor Talons have a roughly 10% damage bonus to jump attacks versus the Hookclaws at same AR. It’s multiplicative with the Claw Talisman and Raptor’s Black Feathers!
So, these are scaling better everywhere to the Bloodhound Claws? The only thing the Bloodhound Claws would have is Bloodhound Step in regards to positives?
Doesn't really matter to me, just some more leg work. I don't think you even have to beat a single boss to get them.
Will probably go for these Cold infused, my Halle Berry/Catwoman build with a side whip.
By using a specific weight load with the Blue Dancer Talisman, I was able to make the Hookclaws and the Raptor Talons match in AR (103). The Hookclaws dealt 120 on a jump attack, and the Talons dealt 132 on the same enemy. It's just a 10% increase so whoever got a 55% increase must have been using some other damage stuffs.

This also applies to the Bloodhound's Fang, which mentions that it does devastating aerial attacks. Both seem to get a 30% bonus on the jump attack, compared to 15% for normal weapons. The percentages always seem to vary by 1 or 2 when I do these tests, but I also tested with r2, both single and double, and with the Raptor's Black Feathers and the Claw talisman, and it stacks, meaning that this does 60-64ish% more damage on a jump attack than with a normal attack, with both of those items. Compared to 42%ish on a normal weapon jump attack.

I did some tests and could not replicate the higher jump attack damage against a hookclaw with similar AR as of 1.04.1.
Aside from patch changing, perhaps previous tests did not account for counter damage as the jumping R2s and two handed jumping L2 do piercing damage. Also the two handed jumping attacks hits are separate, so it is possible to hit the counter on only one of the attacks.

I did some tests on these and found that they do gain a benefit from the talisman and chestpiece that gives bonus to jump damage. But the "funny" thing is a normal noncharged R1 hit does a double hit so if you dont use the talisman chest that double hit actually does more then the jump attack. Heres the numbers:
1 single R1 attack does 219 (double does obviously 438)
1 jump attack with no talisman or chestpiece does 420 (this is a whooping 190% more damage)
1 jump attack with chestpiece does 462 (110% increase)
1 jump attack with chestpiece and talisman does 530 (another 115% increase)
now for comparison the regular hookclaws do 415 R1 526 jump 578 with chest and 662 with chest and talisman so these increases are respectively 126% 110% 115% so the talisman and chestpiece bonuses remain the same on both pieces but the base jump attack damage on the raptor talons are significantly higher 190% vs 125%
now the hookclaws are keen hookclaws +17 and the raptors are keen +12 so you cant compare damage directly. (i also tested with venomous fang normal +0 and came to 113% 110% 115% so i dont know if you get increased jump damage with weapon upgrades? maybe someone can run a test on that).

These claws do not have any bonus to jump attacks. Tested all claws +24 with/without jump attack bonus equipment, using light/heavy jump attacks (1.03 patch). A comment below states that it has up to 55% bonus damage, maybe this was before path 1.03. Maybe someone else can test this so we can compare.
Testing all claws jump attack damage as a SL1, I found that the raptor talons do not have any bonus to jump attack. All claws are upgraded to +24, tested using different enemies and using light/heavy jump attacks, with or without raptor black feathers-claw talisman.

Whoever chose the video for the moveset entry here chose poorly. Rather than a moveset demonstration it's just some guys claws build and he doesn't even use this particular claw weapon in the build.

If I enchant these for Cold damage, should I be speccing into Arcane to increase the bleed and cold proc, even though the weapon has no arcane scaling?
Tests using Quality Raptor Talons+24 with 55 STR and 55 DEX on the Spearman with a Shield at the Gatefront Site of Grace, NG+. Jump R2 while 2-handed. Tested multiple times in a row. After testing Talisman, added tests while raining.
Claws only (naked): 987 (x4) [990 with Royal Knight's Resolve ...]
Claws + Claw Talisman: 1264, 1135 (rain), 1264, 1135 (rain) [1138 with Royal Knight's Resolve ...]
Claws + Chest Piece: 1210, 1186 (rain), 1086, 1210, 1210 (rain), 1086 (... confused) [1089 with Royal Knight's Resolve]
Claws + Talisman + Chest: 693 (x4) (???) [1248 with Royal Knight's Resolve] [1111 with Determination]

For some reason, I find these far more fun than Hookclaws. Maybe because the R2 has a doublehit even when uncharged, and has that dope dash forward when charged, which throws off a lot of opponents in pvp. Pve they're roughly comparable.

I tested jump attack damage. TLDR; they do boost jump damage like the cloak.
Hookclaws total AR 153, Raptor Talons total AR 154 (tested damage with a light attack on each, 158 vs 160 respectively, which is acceptable for this test imo). Test subject is the first enemy in the Cave of Knowledge at Journey 5 with a single heavy (or dual when using both) jump attack after grabbing their attention, so no "sneak attack" bonus variable. Attempted 3 times each to ensure no unknown variables.
Hookclaws twohanded: 212 damage. Baseline.
Hookclaws twohanded with Raptor Talons sheathed: 212 damage. They don't passively increase damage in the offhand when sheathed.
Hookclaw main hand and Raptor Talon offhand dual wielded: 221 damage. Seems like the damage boost applies only to the Talon's damage, and offhand contributes less than mainhand.
Raptor Talon main hand and Hookclaw offhand dual wielded: 298 damage. This combo did more damage than the reverse, backing up my theory on the previous
Raptor Talons twohanded: 329 damage AND broke his stance. 55% more damage than hookclaws.
Raptor Talons twohanded w/ Raptor Cloak: 364 and broke stance. This is ~70% more damage than hookclaws, implying the 15% from cloak is additive with the 55% from the claws. I don't have claw talisman to test.
Summary: The Raptor Talons increase jump attack damage but only for themselves, dual wielding with them or having them sheathed is ineffective. They do ~55% more damage with jump attacks versus claws of nearly the same attack rating when twohanded, and it stacks with other sources of jump attack bonus damage. With this in mind, it's a straight upgrade over hookclaws, assuming you utilize the jump attacks.
Unrelated findings: It seems poise damage is directly proportional to damage per hit, as once I hit over 300 damage I was breaking stance in one attack. The damage contributed by offhand seems to be far less than the main hand when utilizing dual wield hits.

Do these have innate enhancement to jump attacks, that can stack with raptor black feathers armor? If so, stacking these claws with the raptor black feathers and the claw talisman could see a big damage buff to jump attacks

Excellent weapon, I highly recommend using the winged sword insignia talisman with it. Can also do some funny stuff with bleed and a mimic, since bleed is fixed / per hit and nothing beats the attack speed of claws. Obviously very strong in pvp, especially with bloodhound step. Best claw imo given it's unique moveset.
Armored and ranged enemies are a problem though. A second weapon is needed to cover armored enemies, not a big deal since the talons only weigh 1.5, but still a bit unfortunate. Dex/faith isn't working very well for range, lightning spear is too weak, dragon incantations might cover it though.

Upgraded them to +25 for science to see whether they surpass my +25 Hookclaws. They dont. With 59 dex I do 410 (187 + 223) total dmg with the Hookclaws and 404 (173 + 230) with the Raptor Talons. Both have the "keen" mod. Moveset is different, I like the heavy attack of the Raptor Talons more.

For those wonder like I did. I ended up biting the bullet and grinding the raptor talons to +17 to match hookclaws I was using for my last 20 hours. Aside from the move set; the Raptors have better dex scaling as you level them up. Right now my hook claws are Str:D and Dex:B while the Raptors are Str:E and Dex:A. I asume by +25 the Raptors will have S scaling on Dex
