Whats the difference between this and the bloody finger?

This item would be 10x better if, instead of you invading the host's world, it cursed the host's world. Red phantom versions of the man-serpents spawned all over the host's world and the only way to get rid of them was to find your red mark so they would have to invade you instead.

You know what would be grand? Extending the 6 player Arena to the rest of the game through the use of the Taunter's Tongue and making this turn you into a Blue-Red who targets worlds that already have at least 1 Bloody Finger Invader in them. Your task would be to either kill the Host or kill 1-2 Bloody Finger Red phantoms, depending on however many are present when you connect. If you don't land the killing blow, it doesn't count as a victory.

You can invade as a recusant or a bloody finger. You can be summoned to invade as a duelist as well. There can only be two red phantoms if the host uses the taunters tongue while a finger remedy is active. The taunters tongue also allows the host to be invaded regardless of having summoned a co-op. The max number of players in any one world is 5. 1 host, 2 co-op (gold or blue), and 2 adversaries. The blue and gold phantoms can be attacked and killed by npc and red phantoms. The red phantoms are allied with enemy npc, but not to each other red phantom if present. Some red phantoms don't want you to have any part in the rewards for killing a host, as you may encounter a tag team.

Kinda seems like they originally intended for there to be covenants.
Recusant finger - aligning with Volcano Manor; hell you even get rewards doing the ai invasions
Bloody finger - Varre / Lord of blood faction; pretty much Rosarias fingers
Hunters - obviously blades of the darkmoon, hired help pvp cov
Furled fingers - coulda made them white but nah, sunbros. Just no medals this time
Frameworks already there for covenants but for whatever reason it looks cut at the last minute and all the rank rewards were scattered into the open world

Maybe I'm imagining it, but it feels like my invasions with the Recusant Finger are more likely to have me facing Hosts that are using Taunter's Tongue. Really seems that I get more solo hosts and more obvious gankers. Again, probably my imagination, but hey, you never know.

Should be able to invade players who use a rune arc, as it stands now all pvp is just a gank fest. Seriously why is it even allowed to have a host, 2 summons and a hunter vs a single invader, having 2 summons should at least prevent a hunter from spawning, leaving that space to another invader, and it should be impossible to disable the effects of the taunters tongue when currently invaded to prevent gank traps, and over leveled summons need to be nerfed more when summoned.

Bloody Fingers also force you to have creepy red eyes. Recusant finger doesn't do that to you.

The description says you drop your runes in hosts world, if this is true then there’s almost no point since you can invade as a bloody finger and not lose anything, can anyone confirm if this is the case?

Difference between this and bloody finger seems to be the reward. Bloody finger invasions reward a rune arc and a remedy. As a recusant you also get runes.

I’m not sure if I understood the situation right, but I invaded someone with Recusant finger, but there was already a Bloody Finger there and he was attacking me, for some reason? And yes, if I remember correctly, his attacks were hitting. So I’m assuming the difference between the Bloody and Recusant fingers is like invading as a Dark Spirit and Mad Spirit in Dark Souls 3. Unfortunately, there’s no color difference between the phantoms in this game, but I believe it provides the same function as the Mound Makers for DS3

one potential difference between this and the bloody finger is that this not only shows you as a "recusant", but it also allowed me to invade the same world as another recusant, and i was able to attack the other recusant as if they were an enemy. unsure what killing another recusant gives or if the same could be said of the bloody finger

About the confussion: Bloody finger and Recusant serve same function - allows you to invade players that HAVE USED Furcalling Finger Remedy. As of 03/07/2022 there is no functonal diffirence. There might be with patches/dlcs in future, if previous games is something to go by then we can expect factions to be implemented. Upon use of either finger you will be searching for eligible worlds to invade, note you will be invading same "area" your character is located in. Hence why you, most likely, will see host and cooperators instead of having solo 1v1 invasion experience. Hence you are most likely to get fast invasions near boss rooms, as that is where most people apply remedy in order to summon other players prior attempting boss. Note that upon entering boss room, usually, host will transfer to a new area, canceling your invasion.. I am not sure, as in where is "gentleman's club" for pvp, as in how ds1 had the forest and ds3 had the balcony behind pontiff (area where community "decided" people would loacte themselves in order to easily mathmake pvp). I personally had quite good luck in Caelid in shrine of beast, place where Black Sword Kindred boss is located as it seems high level people frequent that area for pvp. I might need confirmation on this, but I would assume it is possible to invade as recusant a world invaded by bloody finger and vice versa, yielding 3 way battle instead of 2 way (2 invaders should be hostile to each other, I think)

are we still not healing in pvp? This game is different than dark souls. You get 2 shot regularly, fights only last like 10 seconds, I think healing should be done when possible in every fight.

This says you invade as a Recusant, and the Bloody Finger you get from Varre says you invade as a Bloody Finger
They both let you invade repeatedly, so I don't know what the difference is between invading as one or the other
