Regalia of Eochaid is a Straight Sword in Elden Ring. The Regalia of Eochaid scales primarily with Dexterity and Arcane and is a good Weapon for Arcane Builds.
Treasured sword of Eochaid, a lesser, long-vanished domain. The copper coloration is not to be confused for rust, but is a conduit for its wielder to move it by their will alone.
Swords of Eochaid dance through the skies
Where to Find Regalia of Eochaid in Elden Ring
The Regalia of Eochaid weapon can be found at the following location:
- Can get this early with precise jumps on the cliffs near Third Church of Marika by the beach.
- Falling from the top of the cliff also works.
- Going through the Gaol Cave [Elden Ring Map here] is the intended route.
-
Credit to anonymous comment below for the following: I'll try and better explain what the writers meant by “precise jumps on the cliffs”.
Go to the Third Church of Marika and face Southeast. Ride your horse until the cliff meets the water. The cliff side here should have a more red hue to it than the rest of the stone typically found in Limgrave. If you’re facing the wall due East you’ll notice a cragged vertical line where one part of the cliff face is protruding from another. Double jump on Torrent while following that and you should now be riding up the cliff face.
Now turn your camera to face Northeast, you’ll notice what appears to be an arrowhead of grey stone forming a flat surface among the red-hued cliff. Jump there.
Turn the camera South. While it doesn’t look feasible, sprint jump with torrent towards the protrusion across the before mentioned cragged vertical line. When you land, quickly double jump (facing East) to get on top of the ledge.
You’ll notice above you several steps in the cliff face just slightly to the right- climb those. Then, jump due North onto the final platform.
You will now be above the cliff and able to drop down.
Elden Ring Regalia of Eochaid Notes & Tips
- Weapon Skill: Eochaid's Dancing Blade
- This weapon cannot be infused with Ashes of War
- Cannot be enchanted with Magic nor buffed by Consumables
- Regalia of Eochaid can be upgraded by using Somber Smithing Stones
- Sell Value:
500
- Eochaid's Dancing Blade's damage is based on total Attack Rating, so using things that boost your AR will increase its damage significantly.
- Winged Sword Insignia, Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, and Millicent's Prosthesis all boost the damage of this Skill since each strike of the corkscrew is considered an attack.
- Marais Executioner's Sword has the same Skill, but that Weapon does more damage with it since it has higher Attack Rating. If you like the Skill, but wish it did more damage, try using that weapon instead.
- Despite having C scaling in both Dexterity and Arcane, you get far more damage out of this Weapon for each point of Arcane. Past 20 Dexterity damage starts to decline with this Attribute, making this a great weapon to pair with Arcane spellcasters, since you typically invest heavily into this Attribute to maximize damage.
- Eochaid's Dancing Blade does predominantly Physical Damage, with some Magic Damage, but not a lot.
- Since it can be obtained early, it's a decent option for dex-arcane or just arcane builds against enemies that can't bleed/if you want to deal magic damage without investing in int. Don't give it more credit than it's due though, the magic damage is nice, and the WA is good in certain situations (blocking enemies and the likes), but the damage is, at best, decent.
- NOTE: As of Patch 1.08, Straight Swords poise damage has been reduced only on PVP.
- NOTE: As of Patch 1.09, the scaling values of this weapon were changed. Please refer to the Upgrades Table of this weapon below. Additionally, the running attack speed, first attack speed and speed of guard counter of straight sword has increased. The attack recovery time has also decreased.
- Known as Eochaid's Gemsword in 1.00 version of the game.

This is possibly the most powerful straight sword. It far outperforms an occult broadsword in and arcane build.
If you are doing a bleed build and want a secondary weapon that is good for bleed-immune enemies this is excellent. The ash works great on miners and the like.

This is the best weapon imo to pair with the albinauric staff in an arc/int hybrid build imo. You can pump arcane for the majority of your damage, boost spellcasting via rapid damage talismans and physik and also use things like terra magica which will increase the damage of the sword a lot. (On a 20 dex/60 arcane split, about half of the damage on this is gonna be magic damage, so terra magica is a 17.5% damage boost).
Not to mention that if you get a 2nd one via NG+, duping or trading, you can powerstance 2 straight swords, which is one of the best and fastest movesets in the game, giving you another way to maintain all your consecutive attack damage buffs.

At 90 Str, 90 Dex, and 90 Arcane. This baby is getting to a base damage of 709 at +9. That's wild. If you just focus stats on Dex/Arc the weapon has a respectable 672 damage. This is all one handed.
- Anonymous
18 dex required with a weapon that scales only with arcane. also no bleed. this is why no one uses this sword
- Anonymous
To the guy who gave the jumping guide, I freaking love you!!!

Is a reference to Sword of Goujian, Was sword found submerged in a cave in china of King of Yueh, During period of Sun Tzu, name was likely crossed off of sword do to the betrayal they did tworads wu clan

it has a minor bug, where the weapon skill wont hit a target if is close. or far. o mid range. locked on. not locked on, etc. and when it doest the dmg is pretty low, and won't stagger anything, you can get memed by lonely claymans, it was not play tested. it makes u admire brair and the bell hunter for actually landing this skill. the damage is good, and if you are going full arcane you can swap to this against anything bleed resistant. it helped me against lot of enemies before getting ocult

I love this sword's striking resemblance to a Roman Gladiolus, it's one of my favorites! I currently have this paired with the Winged Sword Insignia. I'm working on getting Millicent's Prosthesis to pair with the Winged Sword to REALLY stack up damage from it's AoW.
....to the guy below me, that's weird, I'll have to try that out next time.
...also, yeah I'd love to see Eochaid in upcoming DLC, uncover how they learned to make their swords 'dance'!

So i was just farming the nox monks for their set with this weapon and shard of alexander, winged sword millicents and godefroy. At pretty much max distance after procs it does 1616. But i was just slightly staggered out of the beginning of the animation but it continued almost instantly, this time the damage final damage was 2349 so a 45% boost. Does anyone know why this happened? Ive had counter hits before fighting them but nothing like that

Very good invasion weapon if you can get your hands on it and the sword insignia from liurnia early
- Anonymous
Does this hint at DLC? its so unlike the rest of Elden Ring, Eochaid is described more like a place than a name, even though Eochaid is a name, a long vanished domain sounds more like a location. maybe it's that place inbetween all the divine towers.

Idea for a Darkwraith-esque build. Regalia with the lifesteal bone (or any off-hand fist weapon with the lifesteal AoW) in the off-hand. Just swap the bone out to nothing or a no skill shield when you want to use Dancing Blade. For fashion you can use Ensha's helm with a mix of night cavalry pieces. I imagine it might be fun for low level invasions or dueling since Darkwraiths are PvP focused.

did anyone try it at like 60+ dex/arc for end game build? wanna know how it look like
- Anonymous
Replace the Ordorvis Greatsword with this weapon for a better Crucible Knight cosplay experience. Regalia is so much better and has a killer AoW to match.
- Anonymous
a lot of the time, fully charging will cause your target to be blown backwards just when the corkscrew part is ending, and the slash will completely miss. when this happens, cancel the slash with a roll toward the target (who will likely be flat on their back) and charge a heavy attack instead
- Anonymous
funnily enough i was running through the cave to get this item with the weapon marias executioner's sword
- Anonymous
Those attempting to get it early-just don’t, not worth the effort for most builds the night and flame weapon is a better arcane build sword anyway
The name looks Scots Gaelic. If so, it's pronounced "YAW-khuht" where the Ch is guttural. I'm not familiar with the word, and I looked for it in several dictionaries but found nothing. The closest is "Eochair" meaning "Key".
- Anonymous
This weapon is good and fun to use. I just wish the slash at the end of the charged AoW was performed "telekinetically" to match the increased range of the corkscrew attack. It's frustrating when it doesn't connect.
- Anonymous
I've been using this weapon on an unarmored light build based around the Blue Dancer Charm, and it's some of the most fun I've ever been having in this game. Executioner's Sword has more pure power, but I've never liked the moveset for greatswords that plunge into the ground with each attack as much as the straight sword moveset. Arcane and dexterity investment supports both this weapon and an off-hand blood-affinity whip, which complements the sword's relative lack of range excellently, and if an enemy doesn't die from the blood loss proc then the stagger gives you a window for a Dancing Blade finisher. For talismans, it's the aforementioned Blue Dancer Charm, Winged Sword, and Shard of Alexander as mainstays, and then I mix and match Godfrey Icon, Lord of Blood's Exultation, Claw Talisman, or anything else as a wild card or utility slot based on circumstance (such as if chances to fully charge the skill or proc bleed with the whip are too few and far between to where powering up my standard attacks or anything else fun would be worthwhile). That said, a fully charged Dancing Blade with the Blue Dancer, Winged Sword, Shard of Alexander, and Godfrey icon all together is an absolute nuke, and nothing feels better than instantly deleting a massive health bar with a perfectly seized opportunity (If you're not a light load, you can switch Blue Dancer to Millicent's Prosthesis, which stacks with either winged sword insignia). Critical hits? Backstabs? Who needs 'em! Eochaidian sword go brrrrrrrrr

this weapon can one shot about 90% of the game :I theres like 4 successive attack buff charms... theres 4 charm slots... theres a magic and physical damage buff mixed tear. i havent even touched things like FGMS or Golden vow. if i did id assume i could one shot every boss.
2000+ AR with this. lvl 160

i think people find this weapon underwhelming because it's not broken. i've been using this while playing seamless co op with my friends and it's nice vs shielded + guard broken enemies. it's also a nice finisher for things at low hp. you just can't spam it
- Anonymous
Was a little unimpressed when I got it in a strength playthrough, but found it was super fun to use in an arcane build! The AOW does absurd damage with Godefroy Icon and stunlocks smaller dudes for days lmao.
- Anonymous
I tried this out on some of the godrick soldiers on the path to stormveil castle just for fun.
the dancing blade was hit and miss for me, I was using target lock, but it was just as likely to hit the ground in front of the soldier as it was to hit them.
- Anonymous
i dont really like the ash of war in it, but other than that its a really nice weapon!

Has anyone here managed to get this using the instructions above on how to ride up a near vertical cliff? Before I got to caelid I could see where this can be looted from, but there are usually a load of bloodstains there too, Showing player after player falling to their deaths.
- Anonymous
I mean yes jumping about is always fun but maybe going through Gaol Cave, fighting the boss then claim it at the end? Least I thought that's easier than just trying to play Skyrim horse logic in Elden Ring XD but that's my thoughts.

“Eochaid's Dancing Blade does predominantly Physical Damage, with some Magic Damage, but not a lot.”
Who writes these articles? Of course it’s obvious it does some magic damage, it says it right in the weapon stats. Why not tell is what percentage it is instead, an actually valuable statement? For the record, the damage looks to be about 70:30 split.
So bassically i just use torrent to commit skyrim mountain climbing logic

Looks like the cliff climbing jump was patched and can no longer be done

My favorite weapon I used for my dex/arc build, no absurd bleed proccing, no OP weapon art, just a handy old straight sword with a neat design, scaling, and ability
Wish we got Eochaid’s Dancing Blade, not Eochaid’s Power Drill.
Missed opportunity for a sick skill, honestly, what a shame.

You know what would've been sick with this and the marais GS? Have the L2 be a stance, the R1 be telekinetic swings, and the R2 could be the corkscrew

Better description:
Southeast to the beach from 3rd Church. On your left while looking at the water, there is a cliff that meets the red rock of Caelid. There is a crack between the rocks that you can make a double jump up.
To the left there is a outcropping you can make a second double jump to.
You make a third double jump back to the right, over the line to the red rocks, and can walk higher. You are now in-line with the cliff that has the sword.
A final double jump to the destination gets you there.

This sword looks a lot like the ancient Celtic swords the Romans based their short sword off of. Fun fact, Eochaid is an Irish name for the king of the Gods, commonly called the Dagda. In typical Irish fashion, to pronounce this name correctly, omit the E C I & D! O-ha! Can also be pronounced Oh-hqui-tch.

This has quite the resemblance to sword of Goujian, a renowned sword from the Spring and Autumn period (~2500 years ago) of China made for Goujian, one of the last kings of Yue. It retained its sharpness through two millennia and supposedly cut the one who discovered it.

You can cancel slash part of WA after 1.04, this sword feels so good now!
I’m using a pair of this with 40/40 quality dex/arc build.
Rotten and Alexander talismans, WA can deal 2500 dmg, awesome stagger. Tricky to use against bosses, but raw dmg is good too.
It’s also viable in pvp now, since you no longer stuck in wa animation

If this or Marai's Executioner sword had bleed or frost they would be the most comedically broken weapons in the game

- Anonymous
Would be a lot cooler if you had the option between a light and heavy of the weapon art, one with corkscrew abd another with the sword slash
If these values are correct then this sword does notably more stagger damage than all other straight swords

An arcane weapon with no status effect, that can't be buffed nor accept ashes of war. I hope that change this.
- Anonymous
Bleed builds? Here's your backup option. If it doesn't bleed at least you can now sword and board :) Good moveset with a one-handed heavy attack poke, and the WA while slow combos nicely with Winged Sword Insignia (which you're probably running anyway). Plus it looks dope. Combo with the basic Black Leather Shield for maximum drip while staying at 12 STR
- Anonymous
dex scaling applies only to the physical damage, but arcane scales both physical AND magical damage. because of this the weapon is quite good for pure arcane builds and not just for dex/arcane builds
I seem to remember the Bell-Bearing Hunters using a skill which is similar in nature to this weapon's Weapon Art.
Given the flavor text, it makes me wonder if there are correlated lore implications between Eochaid and the Bell-Bearing Hunter?
- Anonymous
Marais is so much better for some reason. I get ~6k damage with charged WA for Marais build but this Regalia hits for less than a powerstance L1 but the listed AR is almost the same.

I’ll try and better explain what the writers meant by “precise jumps on the cliffs”.
You will now be above the cliff and able to drop down.

weapon art totally need a buff for 15FP cost, meanwhile bloodslash cost 6FP and tiny drop of blood for that big ass damage

I like this as a backup weapon for arcane builds against enemies that can't bleed. It having magic damage also makes it unique among arcane weapons. Can powerstance it with another straight sword with occult affinity from an ash of war/whetblade if you want more damage, or use with a shield.
The weapon art is more of something you use for reach and not something you spam I feel. Uncharged it already throws the sword out a bit farther than an R2 thrust, and it goes further charged. And the followup swing can catch enemies that run at you after they get drilled.
- Anonymous
To the folk calling this a gladius; it is not. It looks closer to a hybrid of a Spatha and the sword of Goujian.
- Anonymous
I wish the marais executionar sword got an actually unique I stead of getting this piece of shits weapon art
- Anonymous
I'm not sure what folks are talking about; this thing can do an insane amount of damage. It's a sort of alternate set up of my Blood-focused Arcane/Dex build. I use it as a sword-and-board with Twinbird Kite Shield, with Millicent's Prothesis, Rotten Wing Insignia, and Shard of Alexander. With the shield, I can get in close for pressure, and when they start rolling away or start coming in to be aggressive, I throw the sword at them. I'm regularly hitting for 1k-1.5k. That's an absolutely crazy punish, for a straight sword no less!
- Anonymous
Now I just need to pair it with a shield that looks like a scutum, then I'll have the Roman gear complete
- Anonymous
Not terribly fancy but otherwise functional dex/arcane weapon. It's a straight sword with a thrust 1-handed R2 and decent size so that by itself is a big boon; the weapon art isn't that practical but has a niche use of triggering rapid-hit talismans for a damage bonus that will beef up the final swing after your drill attack finishes. Probably less overall useful than any given straight sword with a blood infusion but if you're tired of status effects and just want a snazzy sword-n-board weapon it fits.
- Anonymous
It's never gonna hit RoB levels of insane damage, but it's a solid choice for Arcane builds, especially considering the relative low stat requirements. Both the physical and magic portion of the damage scale with Arcane, so get the minimum for 12/18 for Str/Dex and you've got a magic longsword with a clunky (but edgy and unique) WA. Also helps you can this really early if you use the cheese jump method.

I feel like the weapon art is a huge missed opportunity, same as Executioners sword.
It should have really let you telekinetically hit foes like Elemer does from range (sweep like hits), one button press - one ranged attack.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
So I started using this as a secondary to Rivers for enemies that don't bleed-- particularly large bosses that are easy to hit with the weapon art-- and I'm finding it a great alternative. Swapping out Lord of Blood's Exultation with Rotten Winged Insignia is an easy fit, and it also procs Godskin Swaddling Cloth nearly every time.
If you're going DEX/ARC, definitely check it out. While the Greatsword version you get from Elmer has more range and likely more power at higher scaling, you can keep the same 12 STR investment you use for Rivers and get a weapon with comparable total (non-weapon art and non-bleed) damage that can prove useful in situations where Rivers isn't quite pulling its usual weight.
If it were somehow Strike damage, it would be perfect, but we can't have everything in one place.
- Anonymous
How does the scaling work? Do both physical and magic damage scale with arcane or just magic? If it's just magic it's basically a dex or quality weapon but if both scale with arcane it'll be great for arcane builds.
- Anonymous
Feels like a missed opportunity not to be able to powerstance this with the Marais Executioner's Sword, being the only two items I know of that reference Eochaid.

After the patch it's usable. However it has a rather short reach and the weapon art whiffs a lot, probably due to the shorter reach. I have 50 dex and 45 arcane and expected a lot more damage, but it only receives C scaling in both. You also can't infuse any blood on it, which pretty much anyone going into dex/ arcane wants. So it feels like they really need to buff the scaling on this so it can compete with the blood weapons.

Can you still get it by doing parkour on the back of the dungeon?
- Anonymous
utter crap, standard attacks are worse than any other standard magic hybrid sword, doesn't do occult so no killing skele's, scaling with this is terrible even after the patch and the weapon art is so niche as to be almost worthless with it's crappy range, damage, and follow up (saved only by the stagger it can do -IF- you can land it). I get you might want to RP with this sword, but honestly if you're happy with such low tier damage and usability there are a bunch of less annoying options. What is it with the sober stone weapons being such trash till you pump end game stats into them?
- Anonymous
Not too sure about the damage before but this is now a pretty viable mid to late game weapon. The Dancing blade ability I feel is a little weak but when charged gets some pretty good range. Great weapon choice for us dragon arcane build users if you want to add a little heat to your chili
- Anonymous
This can't compete with bleed weapons at all, but I'm trying to use it anyway, because I'm sick to death of constantly seeing River of Blood weebs. I really wish it was just a little bit better - if the weapon art traveled further and the follow-up slash was an optional command input, the weapon would still be completely outclassed by bleed weapons (and most other weapons to be honest), but at least it would be viable. It would be nice if the follow-up move was a quick dashing slash or had a much larger energy trail, because I basically NEVER hit with it - It's literally just a slow R1 that you're required to commit to. Oh well, at least there's scaling now!

One of the best options to punish parries with an ash of war that comes out faster then a running attack. Paired with Rotten wing sword talisman and Alexander's talisman, it rivals ultra great sword damage.
