Not only are there no mentions of the Fingercreepers, this is stated to have been taken 'after death' - this was very possibly meant to be a remembrance weapon, which they moved around.

Took out a 3 man Gank squad, Bayle, Malenia, and Consort Radahn all on the same playthrough with this.

For PVP you have the fast roll catching R1s, running attacks, and the flick to punish slow casters. For PvE you have decently fast R1 spam, and a charged R2 that is very efficient at stance breaking.

Let's sort this out once and for all:

The Ringed Finger is Rykard, this isn't up for debate. The rings match his. The rings *do not* match the ones on Fingercreepers. In universe, people who found this finger simply assumed it was related to the Fingercreepers. In the real world, this item in an earlier build of the game was just associated with Rykard directly with no reference to the Fingercreepers - it was rewritten to muddle the connection and inspire speculation, like Fromsoft always does.

This weapon kind of proves that FromSoft pulled Metyr and her connection to the Fingercreepers out of their butt in the last minute while developing the DLC. Turns out the Fingercreepers don't really have an ancestor as they are just spawns of Metyr. The originally idea might have been that this weapon and Fingercreepers were severed from something instead of just being spit out by Metyr.

Very good against gargoyles because of the reach and strike damage.
I like to get mine upgraded to +6 on Mt. Gelmir then head back to Dragonbarrow and kill the black blade kindred for 88K runes.
Afterwards, take out Radahn and the gargoyle duo and there's your +7 somber stone in Deeproot Depths.

Best PVP hammer because of the range and stamina efficiency.

The skill is pretty situational, but it is really funny when you hit someone. Against bosses, I would stick with the charged R2 instead.

WHY is the stagger damage of the L2 LESS than a charged R2? The L2 does do more damage, but that's generally not why you're using a club; you're using it to stagger.

How does this weapon relate to metyr? Metyr was the mother of the two / three fingers and the fingercreepers. did she used to produce a different kind of finger before these three, or is the item description false? it does say that they "THINK" it came from an ancestor of the finger creepers, so that could explain it. Or it could just be one of rykards fingers or smth. Idk

I didn't even know this weapon existed in the game until I caught up on watching Carbot's Elden Ring series tonight.

My first playthrough was completed back in 2022, and went over 300 hours because I scoured absolutely everything I could find so I would miss as little as possible before moving on to NG+. I know what lava corridor the wiki refers to, as my friends and I played through that Hero's Grave not two hours ago. I always kind of thought it was odd to have a bend at the bottom of the corridor, when you have to exit through a side tunnel. The problem, though, is getting past the chariot to even make it into the lava.

Could this be from the last guy before Rykard that fused with the god-devouring serpent? Rykard's fingers in the fused form look very similar, including the rings, and the two prominent locations the fingercreepers are found in include Carian Manor and Mt Gelmir. It's a relic of "an ancient act of blasphemy", which is also how the game portrays the serpent fusion, and it still has some traces of life in it (rykard proclaims the serpent is immortal).

Demolishes Crystalians, just flick -> charged R2 -> crit. Stat requirements are super low too, only need 10 strength if you're two-handing. Always good to have as a backup strike weapon, regardless of build.
