Still a fun and edgy way to play through the game and is even decent as an invader. Wakizashi pairing for maximum cool factor. Only thing to note is for enemies and bosses that don't bleed it might be wise to have a back up.

I met this guy who keep trying to L2 with RoB while i'm spamming my Cleanrot Sword two-handed R1, i know you don't PvP and only do PvE but, bro you need to dodge first after taking a hit stun especially when u have no Poise like that, i feel bad bc it make me look like an R1 spammer myself but bc u keep attempting L2 i keep spamming R1 too, sorry for the interruption, i like your fashion tho, pretty lit, raptor cloak and whitemask, looking great!

Literally every time someone pulls this out in a duel they just spam corpse piler, even if i've JUST rolled through it and started attacking them. Rinse and repeat and they're done. If they pressed literally any other button during the duel they probably would've beaten me lmao. I'm not that good, but the skill is incredibly predictable

Still a cool weapon overall. Only real bummer is that regarding damage and bleed buildup you can really invest a few more points in str/dex/faith to use blood flame blade on the nagakiba.

Funny how much recent salt there is on this page considering how just-OK-ish RoB has become since launch. If you haven't been playing since the game released you wouldn't remember that the weapon skill dealt insane damage, even at range from the blood slashes, and bled you out in like 2 hits with decent Arcane. Now the blood slashes are chip damage at best and the bleed buildup is good, not great. I think most of the hate nowadays comes from 1. people who have been playing since the game released and remember it being totally busted and annoying to fight, and 2. newer players who are just mimicking the first group. Go fight dual bleed spears or a lightrolling mage and tell me this weapon is still a problem.

But anyway, I kinda wish that the bloodflame effect on this, Eleonora's and Mohgwyn's was like, a real bloodflame debuff, not just a visual effect. Same for blackflame on Godslayer's GS. It would've probably been a bit of an overkill, but still it would be cool.
Maybe it could've been balanced out by making it so that the debuff won't stack with itself. If you'll hit the opponent before bloodflame debuff runs out, it will reset debuff's duration instead of stacking another one atop of the already existing.

I wish the Chaos Blade was in Elden Ring, or at least something Chaos Blade adjacent. S rating in Dexterity with damage to match, with life drain per attack to punish reckless use, an actually cursed sword that exchanges your life for otherwise unreachable power. An uncannily sharp blade that seemingly "thirsts for blood" to the point where it cuts its own user is much cooler thematically than magical otherworldly fire that makes things bleed in my opinion. Bloody Slash and Seppuku don't have the magical blood fire attached to their use, but still have the whole "the blood is the weapon" thing going on, which I don't really like either. It was never about the blood; it was the blade itself that was cursed.

If you want a testament to how powerful this thing still is even after the balancing adjustments I just used it to defeat Radagon and Elden Beast - and they're both immune to bleed

With the advances of hyper armor, I don't think its fair to say that this is broken anymore. Especially when things like spinning slash nagakiba exist. Unfortunately, this weapon's reputation has irrevocably been, "Tarnished" . . . Ill see myself out.

Just started using this on my third character build. I enjoy it a lot in PvE. It's a great weapon, maybe not as crazy overpowered as it was when Elden Ring first released but paired with 'Flame Grant Me Strength' and 'Shared of Alexander' the AoW stacks up a lot of damage!

It's amazing, but I never used RoB because of the OP cringe that came with it. I wanted the challenge of using other weapons that were low tier. I made a (bad) real life version of this by using a long thin saw blade, but it was so rusty that it would not only do bleed, but poison, rot and death blight as well.

They could remove bleed from this weapon completely and I would still happily use it. You can actually get a fully upgraded rivers of bloody after killing okino, but to do this you need to be wearing his armour set, and have a katana with bloody slash on it. Go to where he invaded you then drop the un-upgraded rivers of blood on the ground, get you health very low to 50-80hp then use bloody slash while pressing pick up item, and you should have a +10 rivers of blood in your inventory.

I've been playing some DS3 lately. Going through the wiki pages of that game, I noticed an absolute Schmidt Load of toxic comments complaining about weapons being either OP or Trash. Point is: GUYS, IF YOU ARE REALLY GOOD AT ANY SOULS GAME, why would u cry about a flockin weapon on a wiki page. There's nothing cringe about this. As of 1.10 plus the nerfs it's actually in a fairly balanced place for both PvE and PvP.

Just don't wear the white mask and try to use the normal katana moveset from time to time.

Have seen this and eleonora in pvp. Your can run out of this one's range, or simply smash through with your greataxe/greathammer of choice. Eleonora though? If that one's ash of war gets you, you're fkin dead.

If you want to use this because it looks cool, here are my tips on how to avoid being labeled as the cringe RoB spammer. The best option is to figure out how to actually use it without relying on the ash of war. That's not too tough since the katana moveset is pretty good. Next what you want to do is get the wakizashi. Don't dual wield with another katana or RoB. If you pair it with the waki, it's an instant +100 respect. +200 if you put parry on it (this is a general rule for all katanas as well except the nagakiba/hand of malenia because that looks straight goofy). Finally, using this with min stats on arcane on a dex build will help you avoid being grouped in with bleed builds. Remember, there's always a way to overcome cringe so never feel like you HAVE to avoid a weapon despite thinking it looks cool.

This weapon is still top tier regardless of what self claimed meta duelist say, it is a katana which makes it S tier + ash of war is broken, even if people "adapt" to the ash of war, the fact that this is a katana still makes it S tier and. I like this weapon, the Arcane family of weapons look so beautiful (Eleonora's Twinblade, Bloody Helice, Mogh's Spear) but wish this had a less cheesy Ash of War. Something like a self buff ala Sir Alonne's katana or a unique dash and combo like Eleonora's or the Helice would had been fantastic. I know you can just use an Uchi with sepukku or whatever, but I like the aestethics and fire damage of the RoB.
