Smithing Stone [6] is an Upgrade Material in Elden Ring. Smithing Stone [6] is one of the rare smithing stones that are mainly used to acquire high equipment level with great stats. Upgrade Materials can be acquired through exploration, looting it from specified areas of a Location, dropped by a specific Enemy or Boss, given by an NPC, or sold by a Merchant.
Stone used to smith a variety of armaments. A larger rare specimen, it is tinged with gold.
Strengthens armaments up to +18.
Mined near the foot of the Erdtree, these stones are said to have been used to bolster the strength of the Royal forces.

To reach this upper level, head out of the balcony of the next room from the site of grace and jump up onto the red roof right next to it. You can enter the building's upper level from here. - 1x In a chest on the roof of the eastern-most building, south of the plaza. This roof can be reached by starting from the eastern gate house building right next to the main gate. If the door to this building is closed, finish the Radahn Festival and exhaust Witch-Hunter Jerren's dialouge afterward. - 1x On a corpse inside the chapel to the north of the castle. [Map Link]
- Sealed Tunnel:
- 3x inside a cracked glowing statue. At the bottom of the lift found halfway through the dungeon, dispel two illusory walls to the south to reveal a large chamber with an Abductor Virgin roaming the very bottom level. Lure it to the east end where the statue can be found. Its attacks can destroy the statue, revealing a the stones. [Map Link]

- Used in smithing to strengthen armaments. Specifically up to +18.
- At a smithing table, you can spend Runes and Smithing Stones to strengthen your armaments.
- Smithing-Stone Miner's Bell Bearing (3) can be obtained at Zamor Ruins in Mountaintops of Giants [Map Link]. It enables buying Smithing Stone [6] from Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable for 1500 runes.

There is no smithing stone 6 in Nokron. The video that's linked shows you pick up a smithing stone 5 and a SOMBER smithing stone 6.

Just a note that could be updated, the 'grotesque creature' in the Grand Cloister is an Ulcerated Tree Spirit, and a mean one with all the rot.

Game genuinely suffers from not dropping enough of these mid-playthrough. You are stuck using two weapons tops for the vast majority of the game until Mountaintops onwards has a clearance sale on smithing stone 7 lying around.

You can find a total of (3) in Mohgwyn's palace. One in a cave, one in front of a bird where white mask invader's are, and one on the road up to palace-ledge approach road.

North of Nokstella, Eternal City grace, in the ruins just behind a Nox enemy. Ruins are just north of the river, near the snail ambush stone.

There are also 5 dropped by the fallingstar beast next to the big stairs leading up to the Outer Wall Phantom Tree site of grace. (on the other side of where perfumers grotto is, you can see the little "crater" on the map)

There's a breakable statue between the seethewater terminus and craftman's shack sites of grace, bait the runebear that jumps down into attacking it, it drops 3x smithing stone 6
to anyone else trying to farm before finishing altus plateau:
i tried farming from the mausoleum knight in front of the entrance to black knife catacombs but no luck getting any smithing stones. used a silver-pickled fowl foot + silver tear mask too. it only dropped various pieces of armor and a shield ;(

I think if you can comfortably farm soldiers and knights in Leyndell for an abysmal drop rate, you should just give Godfrey some sweet chin music and grab yourself the Bell Bearing at Zamor Ruins. 30min effort and hey we're headed that way anyways, right?

They drop from Leyndell Soldiers inside the Royal Capital. The soldiers drop Smithing Stones (4), (5) and (6).
I haven't been able to find a good farming location but from the Avenue Balcony Site of Grace, I ran up the stairs turned right, carried on to the end and killed the two soldiers and one knight on the stairway leading to the Fortified Manor. Rinse and repeat.
I ran that route 75 times, so only 150 soldiers killed (I appreciate a small number for testing purposes). From those 150 kills, I had six Smithing Stone (6) drop (4%), six Smithing Stone (4) drop (4%) and two Smithing Stone (5) drop (1.33%).

Can be farmed, slowly, from Leyndell Soldiers. I'm not sure if all drop Smithing Stone (6) but have had repeated drops of Smithing Stone (6) from the greatsword wielding Leyndell Soldier on the stairs underneath the West Capital Ramparts (it has one knight and two soldiers).

One drops from a silver scarab on your way to the forsaken depths. Specifically it's in the section that's a giant hole with stairs, and you need to go up and under to progress.

Easily dropped in Deeproot Depths by the mausoleum knights. clearing the 4 groups by starting at [The Nameless Eternal City] and going counterclockwise around the walking mauseloum usually drops atleast 1 [6] and 1 [5] at 110 discovery.

Another one is leaving the "Prison Town Church" in Volcano Manor, go right and drop straight down the cliff. From there jump on the wooden platform (there is also a Stonesword Key) and follow the path in a cave with pot enemies. The Smithing Stone (6) is directly in the middle.

You can find the Smithing-Stone Miner's Bell Bearing [3] at Zamor ruins right at the beginning of Mountaintop of the Giants which lets you buy Smithing Stone 5 and 6 infinitely at the roundtable hold
From Altus highway junction grace go south-east(not up the main ramp, but by the side road). Up the hill on the map it looks like a crater, there is a smaller version of the Fallingstar beast there, dropped 5x Smithing stone 6 for me.

Three of these can be found in the Volcano near the Craftsman's Shack, where the Rune Bear ambush is. Let it break open the statue that has a shiny item inside it, and there will be 3 of these inside.

south-east most point of Caelid is Red Mane castle. On the western side near a bridge is a siege tower you get on by a cliff surrounding the castle. One is halfway down the tower after descending a ladder.

Just found one, it's in east Mt. Gelmir area. Closest site is First Mt. Gelmir Campsite. Corpse sitting in a chair looking out over the mountains, and there is a wolf sitting next to the corpse.
