You receive one for assisting Blaidd in destroying Darwill. Speak to him after the evergaol and he will hand you one. Handy at that point in the game.

The one south of Weeping Peninsula, guarded by jellyfish, is only level 1. Majorly off.

I'm pretty sure that one is found by dropping down the sides of the shafts of a mine in Limgrave/Weeping Peninsula... either Limgrave Tunnel or Morne Tunnel

Been getting one as a drop from the workers in the raya lucaria crystal tunnel. A little bonus when farming runes.

The 3 stones in the gazebo in SW Liurnia are not Somber smithing stones. They are regular smithing stone 2.
"There are three that can be found inside a chapel, beware of the powerful guardian."

Just wanna say that whoever put these locations down is a complete mongrel idiot. I've checked half of these locations and they're literally tier 1 shards, you godawful moron. Thanks, not like I desperately need to upgrade one of my weapons or anything, but I guess bad info is what you should expect from this trash fire wiki.
why do they give you so many of these
why do they give you so many somber smithing stones in general
you only need one per upgrade why do I have 34 of these
