The Scavenger's Curved Sword is a Curved Sword in Elden Ring. The Scavenger's Curved Sword scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity and is a good Weapon for melee users who want to perform short-reaching heavier hits.

Unique curved sword, notched like shark's teeth.
Weapon carried by corpse pillagers who prowl the sites of old battles.

The blade is tacky with blood and covered in hefty nicks, making it totally uneven. Life can be sinister indeed.

Scavenger's Curved Sword can be upgraded by using Smithing Stones
A popular choice for bleed builds as the running and jumping powerstance moves (while dual wielding) can hit up to 4 times, though note that only one can be acquired per playthrough.

NOTE: As of Patch 1.08, poise damage has been reduced, but only for PVP.
NOTE: As of Patch 1.09, the scaling values of this weapon were changed. Please refer to the Upgrades Table of this weapon below. Additionally, the running attack speed, first attack speed of straight sword has increased. The attack recovery time has also decreased.
NOTE: Patch 1.13 Increased poise damage of dual wield attacks of all Curved Swords (in PVP)

  Is this (occult infusion) or bandit's (blood infusion) better for a RL150 dex/arc build if I don't want to bother applying seppuku consistently?
  
  From another user below :
  Bandits (22 str / 52 dex / 45arc) - 500 AR & 108 bleed
  Scavengers (10 str 29 dex 80 arc) - 544 AR & 87 bleed
  
  In practice which is better? I'm tempted to say bandit's for the fact that it procs white mask + lord of blood's exultation more often but idk.

  Regarding bleed and frost build up, here are some combinations. Bracket numbers are with Seppuku and chilling mist activated.
  
  2x Cold infused:
  38 bleed, 105 frost (165 with Chilling mist)
  L1 = 24+24 bleed, 68+68 frost (107+107) = 48 b 136 f (214) total
  Jump/Run L1 = 15+15+15+15 b, 42+42+42+42 f (66+66+66+66) = 60 b 168 f (264) total
  
  1xCold 1xBlood
  Cold is 38 bleed, 105 frost (165 with Chilling mist)
  Blood is 108 bleed at 45 arcane (147 with Seppuku)
  L1 = 24+70 bleed (24+95) 68+0 frost (107+0) = 94 b (119) 68 f (107) total
  Jump/Run L1 = 15+15+43+43 b (15+15+58+58), 42+42+0+0 f (66+66+0+0) = 116 b (146) 84 f(132) total
  
  1xCold 1xStandard with Bloodflame
  Cold is 38 bleed 105 frost(can't have chilling mist)
  Standard is 45 bleed (Bloodflame adds 40 bleed to every hit)
  L1 = 24+29 b (24+69), 68+0 f = 53 b (93) 68 f total
  Jump/Run L1 = 15+15+18+18 b (15+15+58+58), 42+42+0+0 f = 66 b (146) 84 f total
  
  The Bloodflame combo allows you to reset frost for more frostbite burst damage.
  
  The other combinations do more build up when both weapons are buffed (Seppuku+Chilling mist), but can't have frostbite reset unless using fires deadly sin. At that point you're juggling with 3 buffs just for 30 seconds of actual use time before rebuffing.
  
  Cold Scavenger's CS+Standard Scavenger's CS buffed with Bloodflame blade is the most reliable and low effort, as you only need 1 60 second buff that gives you high bleed+fire damage, and don't need to level arcane.

  use cold infuse and put chilling mist on this while use blood infuse and seppuku on a bandit curve sword will give u insane damage vs boss. better then two seppuku after testing on bosses.

  I can't decide between Bandit's Curved Sword, Scavenger's Curved Sword and Uchigatana for my arcane bleed build. Uchi has access to more AoW, but dual curved swords have four cut attack. Scavenger's Curved Sword has innate bleed, but Bandit's Curved Sword is considered a better weapon overall. Hard choice...

  I haven’t seen anyone mention this yet. So I guess I’ll just throw it out there.The handle of the sword seems to depict a robed figure cradling a smaller figure in their arms. And the handle itself looks kind of like it’s made of marble. It sort of reminds me of the statues in the haligtree of Malenia and Miquella.
  I’m not saying there’s any connection whatsoever, it’s just a thought I had.
  If it had ANY lore ties, it would likely be whatever woman the iron virgins of volcano manor are modeled after. But again, just a thought.

  Damn only 1 per playtrought. I wanted a pair to do a Dark Souls 3 Grave Warden kind of build on a NG.
  
  Anyways, everyone mentions the paired jump attack, but the paired running attack seems more broken to me, 1 single running attack activates multi-hit talismans like the swaddling cloth, so more likely it also activates the wing insignia talismans and the thorny cracked tear in a single running L1.

  On NG+ I just got my second one upgraded on my 80 intel mage build RL 137. With magic infusion being buffed, and the speed of these getting an increase, I opted for the magic infusion and the Chilling Mist AoW. Switching hands before a boss fight so that both of these are buffed with frost and the passive bleed buildup is killer. With 80 intel, and 18 dex, I get a 631AR in each hand + fast frost and bleed build up even with nothing invested in Arcane. I don't PvP unless invaded but I would need my staff in my off hand anyway, so it would not work for my build. In PvE these are really fun if you have a boss that can be frostbitten and bleed. I think they were called the Grave Warden TwinBlades in Dark Souls 3, that is what these remind me of, except these are really good.

  First time playing elden ring and I want to play with my friends but keep getting invaded by no-lifes who enjoy ruining other peoples game. I was getting pretty upset by this before my friend dropped me 2 of these. I don’t think I’ve been killed yet since I got these bad boys. Strongly recommend keeping these on you in case some basement dweller tries to ruin your fun. Have fun tarnished!!

  You listen to me right now. Come here and sit down. Forget every other post. I'm going to tell you why this right here is the most stupid weapon in the game. Look at me. The 'r e a s o n' that this weapon doesn't come in a pair is because they're 's t u p i d' powerful to the point the game isn't fun anymore. The sheer damage that comes out of these blades when blood infused is so appalling that you can get away with having 40 dex/40 strength and that's all you need besides upgrades. Listen to me. I deal 1 3 0 0 damage. 2 2 0 0 damage when I just ultra proc bleed with these things. Forget arcane, arcane is either useless or OVERKILL because what they dont tell you is that you attack 4 times with a jump attack which is going to net you 70-80% of the bleed it actually tells you and it basically one-shots most enemies or finishes them in mere seconds. Listen very closely for a second: THIS SWORD WHEN DUAL WIELDED IS BROKEN. I am on NG+3, basically no build and I scavenge the souls out of my enemies so hard I think their ancestors feel it. Yes, sure, I have sword talisman, prothesis and rotten winged talisman along with claw talisman and ravenmount chest piece but that's just semantics. I dont need them to kill things because here's the thing. If I hit 4 times in ONE attack motion, it doesn't matter what gear I have. And they say Elden ring is 'h a r d' no. Not with two of these. Hell I didn't even put frost on one them. All these katana user nerfs all over the place and I'm over here dancing around with these blades not even minmaxing blood exultation and surgeon mask and all my enemies hear before they die is 'TACTICAL NUKE INCOMING' before everything goes black. I cant even imagine pvp because if I hit you just once, goodbye health bar. The only thing keeping you from utterly breaking the game are shielded enemies and all that makes you do is side step them for a dash attack and slice them up assassins creed style. There is a reason there's only one of these swords per game. Though if you wanted to mirror this, stick with bloodstained daggers, yeah the range is far lower but its the same result if you're standing next to them or nicking them when you can.

  I ran through my first playthrough with two of these. While it's not the optimal build I seriously enjoyed putting poison on one, and frost on the other. Getting a nice trifecta of buildup and I always come back to these since it feels just so satisfying to really stick it to a boss or enemy by giving them every disease possible with standard buildup.

  I'm on a Dex/Faith build with a Black Knife and a Bloodhound's Fang, however I feel like I should change my Bloodhound for a Faith scaling sword (I like swords) and move all my Dex points to a fully Faith build. Since this Scavenger scales B on Faith with Flame+25 and Sac+25, are these paths good enough to leave behind my Bloodhound?

  Even after the nerf, bleed curved swords are still way better than pure physical ones. 11 str 80 dex, keen bandit curved sword has 582 ar one handed and no bleed. 9 str 14 dex 80 arc, occult scavenger has 523 ar one handed and 87 bleed build up. So you lose some 60 ar in exchange for 87 bleed. However, you can use white mask and lord of blood talisman to get 30% more ar for 20 seconds after proccing bleed. So when the mask and talisman are active, occult scavenger has some 670 ar one handed. Unless the enemy is immune to bleed, there is no advantage to pure physical curved swords. And if it is immune to bleed you can also use occult bandit for no bleed build up but about 30-40 more ar than occult scavenger, so arcane builds aren't really screwed in any situation.

  Just beat Maliketh solo with two of these. Arc hasn't been that nuked. Parried him one time and it was over, he never recovered.

  Thankfully it's been nerfed, bleed build up was hugely reduced. Games in a much better state now.

  The weapon itself isn't the problem. But the fact that players have figured out how to stack up the damage multiplier enormously with, whitemask, raven cloak and several talismans that both increase the jumping attack and the bleed while getting slashed 4 times in one hit. Bro it is genius

  My build is 2 occ+25 seppuku white mask ravens cloak claw talismen prostesthis Rotten Winged Sword Insignia Rotten Winged Sword Insignia and lvl up arc and dex for best stats (no pants or gloves for that light load) melts most bosses if you constantly use jump r1/rb

  Power stance these infuse one with frost and the other with fire.
  
  I am melting bosses in NG+3 very funny times.
  
  Stats are 60 vig, 35 end,
  50 str, 50 dex, 50 int
  My character is around lvl 195 very fun pve build

  Game is starting to get into a good state but this, quick step, and seppuku need a massive nerf right now. As well as blood exaltation should no longer proc from seppuku. Remove Seppuku ARC scaling, revert quick step start up speed and heavily reduce the iframes.
  Remove the ability to infuse these, you should not be able to infuse these at ALL.

  Currently getting One-shot in PvP with this. Not like RoB combo one-shot. Like actually they jump in the air, hit me and Im immediately dead from 2100 HP to 0. A bit of an issue maybe?

  I'm having a blast with 2 of those, occult infusion 68 arcane (=85 bleed), anything that isn't immune to bleed will be melted, you'll can over 9000 damage in a few seconds. I help people with it and my name is "TheMeatGrinder" because I feel like I'm putting the bosses in a blender.

  So I avoided the whole bleed meta up until today and let me just say omfg. How do people defend this thing? It is obsurdly powerful. Bleed needs some serious tuning or at least in the pvp scene. I can just mash L1 while I make an omelette and bleed through any gankfest. I know there's RoB and Mohgs spear but they follow the same formula. Anyone who says that bleed is balanced in any way seriously needs to try other melee builds to compare it too because it is bananas.

  I use two of these with Poison infusion. I've tested all kinds of builds and infusion combos and this one gives highest damage every time.
  You get C scaling for both DEX and STR while dealing both BLEED and POINSON status effects very quickly
  
  -Kindred of Rot's Exultation Talisman which gives 20% attack boost when poison is triggered nearby (happens super fast with dual poison infusion)
  -Lord of Blood's Exultation which gives 20% attack boost when Bleed is triggered nearby (again, happens fast especially with seppuku ashes of war. I put seppuku on both to proc bosses and high hp enemies faster)
  -Rotten sword insignia for higher damage for consecutive attacks
  -For headgear I wear the Mushroom Crown which gives further attack boost when poison is triggered nearby (similar to white mask, but for poison/rot)
  -Use claw talisman and Raptors feather armor for making those jump attacks very strong
  
  This way you can Get bleed procs insanely fast, while also inflicting Poison insanely fast, and gaining a ton of attack boosts in the process.
  
  I believe this is even better than the often suggested occult infusion as you benefit from the additional POISON related talisman buff (extra 20%!), as well as scaling with STR and DEX with C rather than just Arcane.

  -2 of these powerstanced, Occult Infusion
  -60 vigor, 80 arcane, some dex (no more than 20ish), 15 faith.
  -Seppuku offhand + bloodhound step mainhand.
  -Claw talisman + rotten insignia + millicent prothesis + lord of blood exultation
  -Thorny tear + Stamina Regen buff
  -White Mask (dmg buff if there is bloodloss nearby), Raptor feather armor (buff jump attack), heavy armor gauntlets/pants (bull goat, lionel, etc) to get poise/defense.
  -Whatever body buff you want (exalted flesh or flame grant me str, red perfum or boiled crab for defense)
  -Whatever aura buff you want (chad bird spirit ash, golden vow AOW, bubble perfum)
  
  Prefight: Use Seppuku/Physick flask/Aura and Body buffs for bosses.. for exploration is not neccesary.
  
  Good defenses and poise, Body, Aura, and Stamina buffs, Multiplicative stacked dmg buffs, and the best dodge in the game (BHS), and the highest DPS possible.. you can do so much dmg that you can even kill malenia in 2 hits.
  
  If you want to take it even further and add range dmg and horse dmg.. equip dragon communion seal, and cast dragon incantations. They do massive amounts of dmg with 80 arcane, and if you use the not named ones, you can use them from the horse and with 15 faith. Guess what, you can open a fight with DragonIce to frostbite debuff your opponent, and then make the previous build even more OP.

  Someone's going to have to explain to me how these are the best bleed swords. Their base bleed clearly makes them the best Occult curved sword, and it gives Dex curved sword setups access to bleed that they don't get with other curved swords, that I get. But for the Bleed infusion, they are virtually identical to almost every other curved sword.

  This weapon is extremely overpowered. A coinvader of mine was using these and one L1 combo did upwards of 1500 damage against the host. One combo will proc the bleed status on top of the insane damage these things do. I've seen videos online where these things can kill bosses so fast they can't even transition into their phase 2 before they die. I don't care what anyone says these very obviously need a nerf. RoB is annoying but these might be the single most broken weapons in the entire game.
