Scriptstone is a Multiplayer Item in Elden Ring. Multiplayer Items allow players to interact with each other in various ways, including leaving messages for other players to read, co-operative gameplay and competitive gameplay like PVP.
Ruin Fragment with a cipher inscription.
Craftable item.
Uses FP to reveal more messages from other worlds.
Words are gregarious things, drawn to one another much as people are.

Perfect for seeing all those super creative people that put down the same try finger but hole message everywhere. I would like an item to see less messages without having to give up multiplayer.

After thinking about that Illusory Wall episode on hidden Dark Souls messages, I wanna try testing with these and see if there are any hidden messages written by Fromsoft. Results to follow eventually!

this will finally have its use back when people bombard the DLC with messages everywhere in June :)

Just what I needed, more ways to see "Finger...but whole" and "Still No Head" dozens more times.

I suppose it works by showing messages of offline players. AFAIK, if you are offline, your messages aren't visible to others, so every white message you see - means it's owner is currently playing. I guess Scriptstone simply shows offline players' messages, which is nice indeed.

Since people here don't seem to be giving clear answers.... It works by briefly boosting the number of messages left behind in areas around you by a very large amount depending on where you are. If you're say, down at Astel's cave, there's almost no boost. But if you're outside Malenia's room, its suddenly wall-to-wall messages. But ONLY messages. No duelist messages, no friendly summons, no NPC summons out of nowhere. ONLY the 'white' messages. Or, basically, its worthless unless you're a rare player willing to respond to tons of them to give other players random heals. Oh well, if only it'd boosted the chances of getting a player summon...
The effect lasts exactly 2 minutes as of version 1.05. I just timed it with a stopwatch. I'm going to go ahead and add this under the notes.

Any place that has invisible bridges usually has lots of messages on it to help people, using this makes more of the messages appear and makes traversing the bridge easier. Make sure you're online.

Only lasts ~3 minutes from use. Still unsure if it reveals hidden developer-type messages.

Does this reveal developer messages like "guidance" from Dark Souls 1/2/3?

I would make frequent use of this item when the game drops. Dark Souls 1 had several “developer messages” that you could only see via the Seek Guidance miracle, but the miracles description only ever said that it would help you see *more* messages.
I suspect that this item might serve the same function.
would be perfect, if there weren't already tons of unmissable messages in front of every secret
