Yellow, oozing eyeball of the infirm
|
Shabriri Grape is a Key Item in Elden Ring. Key Items in Elden Ring include a wide variety of items found in specific locations or are given by a related NPCs which are used to unlock areas, quests, and to further progress the game's story.
A yellowing, oozing eyeball of the infirm. The surface is shriveled, and the inside is squishy, not unlike a large, overly-ripe grape.
Give to the blind maiden to guide her to the distant light.
Where to find Shabriri Grape in Elden Ring
- One can be found near a spirit NPC at Godrick's throne room at Stormveil Castle. Using the broken bridge route to enter Stormveil Castle will allow the player to obtain the Shabriri Grape without defeating Godrick. [Map Link]
- One can be found on the lower level of the Purified Ruins. The entrance to this area is blocked by a large plank of wood that can be destroyed with rolls or attacks. [Map Link]
- One is dropped by Edgar the Revenger, an NPC invader found at the Revenger's Shack in western Liurnia. [Map Link]
- He automatically gives you a +8 WEAPON when defeated, which can affect and potentially ruin your matchmaking, so if you play multiplayer, check the Summon Range Calculator page for the details of what it affects.
- This grape can be obtained earlier by killing Edgar at Castle Morne, if the player returns to where he was killed after reloading the area. [Map Link]
- If you kill Edgar while he's at Irina's body following completion of the quest, reload the area and return to his location to retrieve his grape.
Elden Ring Shabriri Grape Use
- Shabriri Grape can be used to progress Hyetta's NPC questline. Hyetta roams The Lands Between in search of the distant light, drawn to her destiny by a guiding shine she feels in the back of her eyes when eating Shabriri Grapes. See Hyetta's page for details.
Elden Ring Shabriri Grape Notes & Tips
- Shabriri is the demon of blindness in Jewish lore. His name in Hebrew translates to mean "fragile"
- It seems that one who is meant to become a finger maiden for The Three Fingers, such as Hyetta, must consume a number of Shabriri Grapes, which guide them to their ultimate destination.

Fun fact: among some syberian nomad peoples, who make a living taming deer, an eyeball of an elk is considered a treat. Sort of like a salty chewing gum. I imagine these are similar, but spicy.

I am so mad I didn't see the grapes in godrick's... Sometimes I wish the quest items were more straightforward. Also Hyetta could be easier to locate like her first encounter. C'mon it is so easy fo miss her with some many stuff on the map

Shabriri Grapes taste so good when you ain't got someone in ya ear telling you it's eyes
- Anonymous
At one point did the item description say something like "This grape has ripened and burst"? I specifically remember reading that line when I first picked up one of these.
why are the eyes called grapes and the grapes called eyes wtf is this game
- Anonymous
I am a native Hebrew speaker and this is just not true. Shabriri means fragile thats it

Ima be honest, totally didn't read the description of the grapes before giving them to Hyetta (I know rookie mistake) and thought I was just feeding this poor blind girl weird fermented grapes or something to heal her eyes. Nevertheless I was horrified when I got to the option where you tell her what they are and she started gagging. Oh well, oops.

This was a quest in Sekiro or Soulsborne... Right?! I've definitely fed eyes to some woman before... a blind one, even! Am I going Mandelacrazy?

Imagine eating Eyes and saying they are sweet... Maybe I will become Frenzied too

You can also pick grapes as a starter gift to your char. So you can skipp Irinas quest or Godrick fight ;)

I think I ****ed up Hyetta's questline - I beat Rennala and now Edgar isn't invading at the shack so I can't get the grape from him. Is there any other way to get one?
- Anonymous
The first grape disappeared from my inventory after one of the updates does anyone know if I can still do Hyetta's questline or am I screwed?
- Anonymous
I cant seem to find the third grape for this quest. I found the one in the castle and the ruins, and I have edgars weapon, so I assume I defeated him, but was only able to give the npc 2 grapes. any suggestions?
- Anonymous
I killed Edgar at Bridge of Sacrifice, I came back at the area to find a grape near the body

The new update 1.04 has fixed the invasion bug now Edgar and Vyke can invade you at thier locations.

Update: Killing Edgar no longer gives you a grape and he will not appear at revenger's shack. Resting at the shack grace site you will see an item as you rest, but will fade as you exit resting.
- Anonymous
If you completely messed up and beat the game like I did try looking for Irina's corpse. If it's there then go to the Revenger's shack and kill Edgar. I had beat the entire game and managed to one shot him with a bubble and get the grape, his weapon, and a meat dumpling. There were several corpses in the shack with 1 meat dumpling each. Picking those up seems to trigger the invasion but I don't know honestly.

Fun fact: The shabriri grape is likely derived from the story of Sabri and Lord Ram in hindu mythology, where Shabri, a lower caste woman, fed Lord Ram (a prince an an avatar of a deity) some grapes that she first bit the rot off of, in order to give Ram the fresh part.

"You need to kill him the first time you arrive at the revengers shack site of grace. The invader is bugged as of current patch (1.003.2). If you leave and come back he won't respawn."
This is not entirely correct. I made a backup save in case I had an issue with this quest in NG+ (like I did in NG) and then forgot to talk to him again next to the corpse of his daughter. So he didn't appear at the shack and I both activated the site of grace and rested at it. I then realised my mistake, went back to talk to him, came back to the shack and despite the fact that I had rested there, left and come back, he still invaded normally. There is more to this bug than this.

In the tips it's stated that one who wants to become a finger maiden must consume the grapes, but this is likely not the case. Hyetta doesn't become a normal finger maiden from eating the grapes. She thinks they guide her to the Erdtree, but they actually guide her to the three fingers. It's likely that the distant light she sees is the Flame of Frenzy and she becomes your finger maiden only when you take that path. So they likely aren't a requirement for your average maiden, and the maidens are chosen by the two fingers to accompany potential shard bearers and the grapes have nothing to do with that.

I had two grapes in my inventory at once, the ruins and edgar ones, and gave her a grape while she was near the ruins and now I have zero grapes. She is still asking for a grape near the broken bridge. The first grape I gave her was the stormveil castle one. I killed Edgar at the shack when he invaded, I have his halberd. Has anyone else run into this issue?
- Anonymous
Dont have to have finished Irinas and Edgars Quest to get his invasion at Revengers shack, just did Rennala as my first Shardbearer then Godrick and Hyetta was at the bonfire outside and I went to the shack and got invaded despite never doing the quest at Castle Morne
- Anonymous
Killed Edgar at castle morne after the boss fight before I knew he was supposed to invade. I was able to go back to his body and pick up the grape where you first meet him at castle morne.

I'm a native hebrew speaker, shabriri just means brittle, not whatever's written in the trivia
I finished the game before ever getting Irina's Letter, and had already cleared Castle Morne. I found her, got the letter, and went to speak to Edgar - he was simply not there. I tried going back to Irina and she was dead. I have never seen Edgar, already found Revenger's Shack previously with no invasion, and cannot get him to invade. Am I just screwed with no chance of getting the 3rd Grape? Would've been cool to have a couple extra spawns in case one of the questlines is so badly bugged that a significant percentage of people simply cannot do it.

Is there any way to get Edgar's grape without getting his weapon?
- Anonymous
Is no one going to mention that this is a Princess Bride reference?
- Anonymous
Funny how I found all of them by complete accident. I thought it was some easily found ingredient that I was picking up and that's why I was able to finish Hyetta's questline, but turns out I was just not paying attention to what I was picking up and getting.
- Anonymous
...of course i somehow broke the questline for the final grape needed...or its bugged cause according to others, i can totally get invaded regardless, which i didnt, even waited for night time and refreshed the area
- Anonymous
So, lorewise, I think it's 100% the Frenzied Flame that "Hyetta" is seeing, not anything tied to the Gold or the Greater Will. Whether or not she's another corpse animated by Shabiri, or if she's just a model re-used by From and not _meant_ to be the same I dunno. Personally, I like the idea that she *is* animated by Shabiri, because hey, who says an incorporeal distributed consciousness can't be in more than one place at once?

So I killed Edgar as an invader before doing hyettas quest, and he didn’t drop anything and I’ve reloaded the game and nothing, so like what do I do ?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
You don't have to complete any quest line for him to invade.
Talk to Irina and then go to castle Morne. Just get the first grace at the lift. At this point without delivering the letter or talking to Edgar you can go into the lakes region and Irina will die and Edgar will invade at the shack.
I discovered this by mistake trying to advance Hyettas quest early and Edgar was never at Castle Morne, the first time I met him was as an invader at the shack.
- Anonymous
Does Edgar drop his weapon if you don't kill him at Irena's body?
- Anonymous
I just got invaded by Edgar before even doing his questline. All I did was get the letter from Irina and I didn't even reach castle Morne and he dropped the grape.
- Anonymous
I somehow got invaded by Edgar without doing his quest and he dropped the grape. Only thing I did was get Irina's letter
- Anonymous
Edgar isn’t around anymore for me and I can’t get his grape. I never killed him, he doesn’t invade at the revenge’s shack. I didn’t see him at the corpse of Irina. But he did tell me that he was going to look for Irina at castle morne. Really wish I had just killed him for that grape when I could have. Anyone know if he will show up somewhere else, or if there is some trigger to get him to come back?
- Anonymous
For some reason the grape doesnt drop behind the throne room. Its not there. It doesnt spawn. So If I dont have enough shabiri grapes i cant complete the questline?

Unless you really want to complete their questline and fight Edgar at Revenger's Shack for some reason, the safest way to guarantee getting a grape from the Edgar, is just to kill him when you see him and reload the area (quit to main menu, load up again). Seemingly, nothing can be done about the fate of Irina, so it matters naught.

so are these actual grapes shaped like eyes, or are they just really, really ****ed up eyeballs that this lady eats?

Shabriri means "Fragile", not "dazzling gaze". Who wrote this wiki?
- Anonymous
Shabriri doesn't mean dazzling gaze. Shabriri in Hebrew means "Fragile" or "easily broken"
- Anonymous
For those who already got 2 shabriri grapes ( Godrick and Edgar ) and gave her both in one time, comeback to the place where you killed Edgar, 1 Shabriri Grape will be returned there. At least that was what happened to me.
- Anonymous
Cannot spawn Edgar no matter what I do. Tried on three different playthroughs.
had 2 shabiri grape form godrick and edgar, my 1st interaction made her consume both of em but progressed once in the quest line ;-;
- Anonymous
The invader will not drop one. Its the Fingerprint one you need later. So if you miss Edgar the Questline is failed.
- Anonymous
She took three at the same time in the first location what should i do now?
She only teleported to the next area
- Anonymous
the invader mentioned drops the fingerprint grape, not the shibiri grape

The Shibhiri Grape near the spirit NPC in the lower Stormveil Castle section, close to the Throne Room, can be accessed before defeating any bosses. Simply make your way to Site of Grace 'Lake Facing Cliffs', and take the cliffside cave entryway inside to the throne chamber, there is nothing blocking access.
- Anonymous
so much wrong info that got greenlit, you can get the grape without beating godrick, the back door is always open, except for the one directly leading to his boss room.
You don't have to beat Godrick to get a eye I'm pretty sure. I went to the castle on top of the hill....next to a church (where merchant tells of the academy). Going in there was ultimately a dead end BUT I did pick up a eyeball...without beating a single main boss.
I believe it was next to a ghost person up the ladder upon entering the castle/building after walking around edge of mountain until reaching top.

"One can be found near a spirit NPC at Godrick's throne room at Stormveil Castle, you must defeat Godrick the Grafted first in order to gain access to the said room. You'll find it at the lower section. Map Link." This is not true. I found the fruit before fighting Godrick, because I preferred exploring before fighting any main bosses. The room towards the spirit and fruit has no doors. In order to get there, you need to jump down at the broken bridge where the palm reader is (South-East of Stormveil Castle) and follow that path until you find the Lake-Facing Cliffs Grace. The backentrance to the castle is very close, just hug the castle walls and you'll find it. You can simply run in whenever you'd like. Though you obviously can't enter the massive door in the throne room towards Godrick this way.

if you kill edgar and the grape doesnt drop reload and check his OG spot at Castle Morne. Grape showed up for me there
- Anonymous
If you kill the optional boss in castle Morne Edgar will not invade you and you will be locked out of the quest.
- Anonymous
Hello all, I beat Goodrich last night, but no grape spawned in the room by the ghost lady. What do I do?? I found the first grape from the irina quest.
- Anonymous
Don't understand, he won't invade me and I followed every single step prior properly
- Anonymous
The may be a bug with Edgar the Revenger's grape where your inventory won't say you have it and it won't drop on defeating him but you do actually have it...
I had 2 grapes and a fingerprint grape, then killed Edgar the Revenger (invader) and still only had 2 grapes and a Fingerprint Grape - But I was then able to give all 3 grapes to Hyetta, and I still have the fingerprint grape in my inventory.
So I did have all 3 but only 2 showed in inventory.
- Anonymous
You don't have to kill Godrick to get that grape. If you take the path around the mountain trail that skips Stormveil castle, you can go through the back door and get the grape that way.
- Anonymous
You don't need to defeat Godrick to get the first grape if you use the back entrance in Liurnia.
- Anonymous
Be careful not to light the Revenger's Shack grace before seeing the last part of Irina's quest, it stops Edgar from invading you.
- Anonymous
You do not have to defeat Godrick to get the grape near the throne room. Access to the throne room is available if you enter the castle after going down destroyed bridge then following the path until you reach an access point. A lot of wolves along this route but you can ride torrent right past most of them.
- Anonymous
seems like killing edgar before he invades locks you out of this quest
- Anonymous
If you killed Edgar at Morne Castle before he sees Irina's fate, if you rest and come back to his original location (ramparts bench up top in Morne Castle), there will be a Shabriri grape where he once was. Was going mad looking for the 3rd grape I somehow missed but this was it.
- Anonymous
A Shabriri Grape can be found in Caelid behind a seal, once you've lit the tower flames it will disappear. It's along the side of the cliff with the invisible caster standing in front of it.
- Anonymous
There are only 3. Do not kill Edgar at castle Castle Morne or Bridge of Sacrifice. You get one from him after defeating him when he invades at Revengers Shack.

Killed Edgar the first time I met him. Did not drop a grape

You don't need to beat godrick (or even Margit) to get the one by the ghost. If you go around stormvail castle by the palm reader you can find a side entrance on the way to lurneria of the lakes.
