Silver Mirrorshield is a Medium Shield in Elden Ring. The Silver Mirrorshield is a Shield that scales primarily with Strength and Intelligence. It is a very good shield for mages and spellblades and highly resistant to magic. Medium Shields feature a good balance between defense and weight, which is great for most situations in combat. Although it may not be as light as a Small Shield which is good for agility and parrying, a Medium Shield works better at reducing damage and blocking.

Shield of radiant silver, festooned with amber and carried by Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree.

The shape is said to imitate that of a sacred drop of dew, which inspired the absurd rumor that Loretta herself was an Albinauric.

can be boosted with consumable? yes 100% magic def. Guys, to have much fun in the Arena 1v1 until their FP & flask runs out

      • Anonymous

Heartbreakingly useless shield. Wonderful, unique appearance, but you can't get it until the end of the game. 100% Phys block but only 45 guard boost and cannot be infused, this is beaten by even the most basic heater shield. Only valid use case is defending against magic, but why do that when you can just roll? This is just sad. Chuck it on the massive pile of lore-delivery items and never look at it again.

i love this shield because it does its job as advertised real well. use it to block magic and physical attacks. if your not blocking magic and physical attacks use the brass shield or beast crest shield instead. wish there were more shields that were like this for other damage types.

          • Anonymous

It's certainly, uhh... anatomically... evocative. And no mistake it's found in front of the recipient of the "birthing droplet".

            • Anonymous

Would've been nice if this thing had a unique skill instead of no unique skill at all. We see Loretta using the shield to cast some sort of blessing on herself, maybe it could've been an aura buff like golden vow?

              • Anonymous

Loretta might actually be an albinauric because a) we never see her get off her horse and b) she guards the Haligtree

                • Anonymous

Maybe it's just me, but the shape being that of "a sacred drop of dew" kind of surprises me, because I think more than anything it looks like a sprouting seed.

                  • Anonymous

An absolute treasure for golden order builds. Use dual wield sacred/flame art clayman harpoons most of the time and pair this with sonaf. Cast immutable shield on this and take 0 damage from spells or other magic damage.

                    • Anonymous

The advantages of this shield are low int requirement and the most magic guard. It's very effective tool for non-int player to use against pure caster build.

                      • Anonymous

What are these commenters smoking? This shield has 89 magic resist *and* 100 physical block. Thats better than any other shield with any infusion, especially since other shields drop to <100 physical block with magic infusion while *still* not having as much magic resist as this shield.

Its niche is plain as day. I use it to turn both Astels into a cakewalk.

                        • Anonymous

This is just a drip shield if anything but then again Carian Knight Shield is the better drip shield which you can get earlier.

mirror helms: great against magic and holy, cus mirrors reflect light, but **** against physical cus its a mirror, cool, makes sense. mirror shield: perfect physical block and great against magic, but garbage at everything else, including holy. ????????? wish this shield had much better holy res, especially considering how lategame it is and how many holy damage sources there are at this point, should be like 95 phys, then like 80 mag and holy, then garbage at lightning, then some slightly better guard boost so its not totally worthless against physical attacks. i seriously dont get why the MIRROR shield sucks at blocking what is effectively light

I noticed the inner shield design, not seen on the image above, actually resembles the design of the Miquellan Knight’s Sword. Considering it is meant to resemble a Carian Knight’s Sword, my guess is that it was designed for Loretta, but Miquella just never got a chance to give it to her.

I’ve noticed an argument that Loretta casting magic through her weapon as a sign of her being an albinauric.

Except for maybe the albinauric shield and bow, all albinauric gear scales with arcane.

                                Loretta’s War Sickle does not.

The Carian’s Knight Sword describes it as being used for a catalyst for sorcery.

Previous From games had weapons that could cast miracles and sorcerers. Dark Souls 2 and 3 has this.

Demon’s Scar of DS3 is one of my personal favorite weapons that From has programmed.

My guess is that spell casting weapons were cut to make room for the ash of war system.

I don’t know why else they would scrap the concept. It was actually pretty balanced in DS2 and DS3.

People do realize it isn’t uncommon for people to setup rumors to defame powerful people.

Loretta probably isn’t an albinauric. But she hung out with Carians who created albinaurics and then defected to Miquella’s group who sheltered albinaurics.

Her blood just doesn’t match up with albinauric blood. Her weapon doesn’t use arcane either.

This is like Catherine the Great getting accused of ****ing a horse.

There is basically no point to upgrading this shield past +9. It is beautiful, light, and as good as it gets for tanking single shot magic damage. But the low lightning and holy resistence really hold it back late game. No to mention the low BST of 49. You iust can't really block a chain of magic attacks... and guess what magic attacks tend to be late game?

Tl:dr - great shield for early game but you don't get it till late game, doesn't scale well for late game so better off with Carian Shield or the Bronze Shield with cultured BST 69.

This shield needs some rework, no special skill, no full magic protection, and no ashes of war?
At least Carian gets it right.

His sword was long, his lance was keen.
                                        His shining helm afar was seen;

were mirrored in his silver shield.

Just bad Carian Shield, which you can easily get in the first third of the game. It only has 18% more magic guard, significantly worse holy guard, and terrible boost. I think the 89 is so you get 100% with buff but are you really going to prep scholar's shield or use magic grease instead of just tanking like 50 damage?

                                          • Anonymous

The guard boost on this thing being garbage makes the best medium shield in the game the Beast Crest Heater shield (for early game availability) or any other 3.5 100% damage reduction heater shield. Kite shields and wooden shields got the shaft in this game. I wish there was more variety.

You know, I really hope this Shield will be worth it against Malenia. No skill plus 49 boost isn't very good. But I'll admit that Magic resistance is good. Still, all other elements can screw up the Shield easily due to lower elemental resistances...

                                              • I suspect Loretta was a "Successful Albinauric" with grafted legs from the Frog Albinaurics, probably the reason for all the torture at Volcano Manor. Abductor Virgins gathering specimens.

I think Loretta being a Albinauric would take away her credit in being a hero or a champion for the silver ill people. In fact, if she was nobility helping the accused like she's meant to be a version of Robinhood who led a exodus for a nomadic tribe. It makes her all the more legendary like Cleanrot Knight Finlay.

I wander how much stamina damage Star of Ruin and Star Shower does to the shield, the magic percentage reduction sound amazing against them.

Why did they have to make this shield so bad?, sure it blocks 89 magic but Carian Knight's Shield is only below by 18 points and has 15 more guard boost, which means your stamina won't get eaten by every hit. Hell, even Ice Crest Shield has more guard boost and that's a small shield... what good is a shield if you can't block reliably with it, or parry for that matter.

If only it had more stability. Carian shield is basically an amped up version of this. Looks stunning though.

                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                    • Anonymous

I loooove this shield. The high magic resistance has saved me many a time on magic focused enemies, bosses, and dragons. Also it's light and has no skill attached, so you can use your weapon skill without having to unequip the shield first. I highly recommend.

                                                                      • Anonymous

                                                                        • Anonymous

If you like your shield to have no skill in order to compliment your right hand weapon, which many do, this isn't a bad shield. Its hella stylish, very high magic resist, and best of all its very light.

Yeah not being able to put an Ash on it is weird, but it has a niche at least.

                                                                          • Anonymous

                                                                            • Anonymous

The shield was not nerfed, I don't know what the last guy is smoking. It still has 89 Magic Resistance. The shield however, is largely disappointing since you cannot put an ash of war on it.

                                                                              • Anonymous

Oh no, I think this shield was severely nerfed as a result of the 1.03 Patch. I always kept it for its low weight, clean look and high Magic resistance, but I just noticed that the Magic resistance is now just 41.0. At +8 the stats for its Guarded Damage Negation reads as 100 / 41 / 47 / 31 / 41

With this change it now has better Fire, Lightning and Holy resistance at the cost of lower Magic resistance, however these stats aren't impressive or unique when compared to the other shields I've acquired throughout the game. The Kite Shield is better in every department except for weight, 4.5 units which is one more of the Silver Mirrorshields 3.5. Which similarly to the Mirrorshield, the Kite has the same "No Skill" skill, but also utility to receive Ashes of War assignments.

A really disappointing change, I feel like they took the character of this shield away, I also don't feel like this shield is an appropriate reward considering the questline you have to go through in order to get it. It is the lightest shield in my Inventory with 100 Physical resistance and decent elemental protection, but again, the difference is almost negligible.

Use this to block spammy spells that can’t be rolled while watching for the inevitable moonveil laser as you close the gap. Always roll moonveil. Erd tree greatshield WA reflects moonveil WA, if you wanted a shield specifically for moonveil meta

While its saddening that you cannot put an ash on it, its true power lies in the ability to destroy opponents fps when raytracing is implemented.

                                                                                    • Anonymous

The fact that there’s nothing special about this shield besides the high magic defense makes me wonder why they won’t allow an Ash of War on it.

Even the turtle shell can have an ash of war on it. Would be cool if there had been some kind of “punch” or “stab” or even a spell reflect on the shield with that orange stinger looking thing. *sighs* it’s worse in every other way to the shield I’m using except for magic defense. Was hoping for something cooler.

Still, the design is really cool so if you’re into the fashion souls (who isn’t?) then this shield might fit you.

                                                                                      • Anonymous

Awesome shield! I use it on my mage - 100% Phys, 89% Magic and No Skill so I can use Moonveil + Wing of Astel arts while being able to block most damage in the game. Highly recommended to pick this one up ASAP!

                                                                                        • Anonymous

I can’t think of a single reason as to why you shouldn’t be able to use an ash of war on this. Weapons in general not having ashes of war is stupid. They’re all on weapons with good weapon arts. If I want to put a worse one on why shouldnt I able to.
