Not a particular fan of the ash of war, need to test it more I guess but I generally like AoE ashes. Pretty heavy hitter for a great sword though

I was shocked to discover after using this sword for a while that the light slash doesn't just travel along the ground, but vertically as well! You can use it to hit high weak spots like dragons' heads. It doesn't have amazing range but it hits plenty hard for just 12 FP even without the follow up.

That strength character of yours that lacks some mobility and speed on his attacks (since they use a lot of colossal swords and whatnot) when they find this weapon, the ash, and the scaling: falling in love completely with it.
Trying it in NG+ and so forth, still pretty reliable

If you're good with spacing and timing, the follow-up AoW attack hits Raksasha's Katana Weed Cutter user hard. I enjoy the flying-off animation and the body thumb sounds as it hits the ground.
