"One found in Dragonbarrow: Dropped by an explosive Teardrop Scarab sitting on a fallen tree near the center of the region. It is southwest of the Divine Tower of Caelid, and rests on a cliff just above the Somber Smithing Stone (9)."
Typo? **Somber Smithing stone (8)
You may wanna either be more specific with or outright remove the notion of going on top of the Albunauric Rise to get the Smithing Stone; it's genuinely easier to head from Inner Consecrated Snowfield site of grace and just hoof it. You may get snagged by a wolf, but you should be okay as long as Radagon's doesn't see you. The largest cluster of rocks is what you're lookin' for, just yeet up as fast but carefully as you can (horseback worked for me), and you should pop up there and grab it.

I sure would like some tips on how to get the one close to Albinauric Rise. I can get to the chest with the Rune Arc but after that there are some jumps to make that are difficult for me and some big balls spewing blue stuff that kill me fairly quickly.

The one that says west of the minor erdtree in consecrated snowfields - I just got a somber 7 instead of 8.

Can confirm that there are two Somber Smithing Stones(8) in Castle Sol area. First one is INSIDE the main courtyard on a body sitting on a high ledge. (Go through the main gate and look up and right) You'll need to clear the castle walls and hop on the wall edge to get it.
Second one is OUTSIDE Castle Sol sitting on a body on the edge of a cliff. It's easy to miss b/c of the lack of contrast between the item and the snow. To get there: Start at the Castle Sol Main Gate site of grace and work your way clockwise round the castle to gain access to the cliff. Watch out for stormhawks!

The map link for the teleporting one at the foot of the forge is giving me dragonbarrow

The one on the scarab that will vanish is just west of the foot of the forge site. Go west, get on the horse and jump up the outcroppings a bit. Get off the horse and sneak until you see the scarab. I hit it with one arrow - it fell off the cliff and I got the stone.

Having just finished the Lake of Rot, I can confirm there's One Somber 6, Two Somber 7s, Two Somber 8s, and one Somber 9.
-Somber 8 #1: Northeast of the "Lake of Rot Shoreside" Grace.
-Somber 7 #1: Southeast of the Somber 8 #1, there's some ruins with a couple Basilisks, it is inside the ruins facing the Eastern Wall of the Lake of Rot.
-Somber 8 #2: The very Southeastern edge of the Lake of Rot, there are more ruins. A building that's laying diagonal you can walk up has the Somber 8 #2. **Side note, the Mushroom Crown Head is at the end of the little parkour section you can do after the Stone**
-Somber 7 #2: Return to the "Lake of Rot Shoreside" Grace, go South to where the Shore meets the lake, and follow the shoreline til to hit the Northern wall of the Lake of Rot. Follow the Wall towards the West and you'll see the Somber 7 #2 sitting on a small island.
-Somber 6: The Entrance to the "Temple?" With the "Grand Cloister" Grace, go East along the Southern Wall of the Lake and you'll see a little path you can climb up, just before you climb up, there's a Teardrop Scarab. Kill it, and you have your Somber 6.
Somber 9: The pathway mentioned above leads up to the spot where the Alabaster Lord is, activate the stone paths as you progress to the "Grand Cloister" Grace, and you'll raise the platforms to fight him. Should you fall or die, don't fret, the path mentioned leads you to a ladder you can climb back up. Behind him on the second pillar to the East is the Somber 9.

There's one here that isn't listed or shown on the interactive map, it's on the southwest shore of Frozen Lake halfway between First Church of Marika and Spiritcaller Cave, it's on a corpse guarded by 3 giant lobsters

I have to admit it. I tried various tactics for like 2 hours. I tried 2 handed greatswords, whips, even swarm of Flys, but i kept getting killed. I caved in because alot of people said it worked so I upgraded my river of blood to plus 10, rerolled to have enough arcane, and used mimic with it. We messed her up the first try.

The one in Dragonbarrow is relatively close to a Somber 9, found on the passage under it. On your way to it from sellia crystal tunnel, you can also snatch a Somber 5 behind the stone sphere.
6 and 7 can be found on Volcano Manor, and 1 to 4 can be bought from Iji. Then you either farm runes or cheese godskin noble and voila, +9 special weapon after only 1 boss lol

The lake of rot stone mentioned above is actually Somber 7. Not an 8. Just tried it to confirm
There is another outside of Castle Sol, in Mountaintops of the giants. You can see it easily from the Castle Sol Main Gate Grace by walking south east and looking up at the body hanging over a cliff. To get to the body you must go all the way around the outside of the castle (start by heading north) and past some birds. You can grab the stone and jump down the cliff to reach the Grace.
