Talisman depicting a blue ancient dragon.
Boosts magic damage negation.

The ancient dragons, who ruled in the prehistoric era before the Erdtree, would protect their lord as a wall of living rock.
And so it is that the shape of the dragon has become symbolic of all manner of protections.

  • Spelldrake Talisman +1: Sellia, Town of Sorcery: Found in a small room in the northwest section of town, right under the balcony containing the Staff of Loss. This room is initially sealed by a barrier that can be dispelled by lighting a brazier atop a tower in the southwest of town. [Map Link]

Does this stack with either Spellproof Dried Liver or Magic Fortification? I don't think it stacks with both

      • Why does the +2 version of this do more than the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman? This goes to +6% damage negation, and I assume the Boltdrake +2, the Flamedrake +2, and the Haligdrake +2 do as well, while, the Dragoncrest goes to +5% damage negation. Considering that physical damage is more common than any single type of elemental damage, that's just impractical.

This is probably a stupid question, but when it says boosts magic damage negation does it mean glintstone sorcery or all magic damage? specifically the gravity magic used by the onyx and alabaster lords?

Multiplicative as damage reduction in a nutshell:
            You have whole pizza.
            You halve the pizza. (50%)
You halve the pizza again (50% on that 50% = 75%)
You halve the pizza yet again (50% on that 75% = 12.5%)
            So on.

"Note that damage reduction suffers diminishing returns. For example, using a +0 talisman when you already have 10% magic damage reduction will result in a new damage reduction of 1 - (.9 * .87) = 21.7%"

I apologize for the - perhaps - dumb question but... can someone explain this better to me? thx in advance

For PVP: If you have low int, using the int talisman, gives you effectively more dmg negation vs magic than using this talisman... yeah really intuitive,,, not.

this is great for pve early game, actually almost a must have if you are pure melee. Pop one of those anti magic flesh things that increases magic def and have this equpped and lol at how useless the burger king hat sorcerers are. pretty good in pvp as well at +2

Not sure if it works same in pvp as in pve, might give much less defense against pvp similar to dark souls 3. Needs more testing...

The pickup in the room opposite the one containing the silver scarab talisman mentioned in the guide to grabbing the +2 talisman is Sacraficial Bud (x3) and three vulgar militia enemies if someone wants to toss that info in there

found +2 near the deathroot in Hidden Path to the Haligtree. Jump down where the ledge is broken. It seems a falldown but there is an invisible bridge.

                          • Anonymous

The +2 Version is found in the Hidden area of the Path of the Haligtree. Take the grace point to there. Run backward into the main path, there's a broken fence. Fall down and you'll land on an Invisible platform. To the Left is the Silver Scarab Talisman behind a Illusionary wall. Back track over, dead ahead there's another room. I don't recall what was there. But If you run over there and look left, theres another path (it's slightly down and still invisible.) There might be a enemy on it. You can head down there, then Jump left onto the platform, Head Inside, then Left again towards the locked door. Up the stairs and up the elevator at the top is the +2 Talisman.

                            • I am unsure if I got it here or somewhere else (so not sure if it just drops like this, or it's actually separate), but I actually got a +1 version of this while I'm still just on base/non-NG+.

There's a +1 version of this talisman in sellia, town of sorcery (caelid) - you need to light up the fires in tower to unlock the seals in the town.
1 of the fires unlocks seals for 2 chests in the town, with the chest closest to the swamp containing the talisman.
