Enhances charged attacks for a time in mixed physick

Spiked Cracked Tear is a Crystal Tear in Elden Ring. Crystal Tears can be mixed in the Flask of Wondrous Physick to enhance its effect.

A crystal tear formed slowly over the ages where the Erdtree's bounty falls to the ground.

Can be mixed in the Flask of Wondrous Physick.
The resulting concoction increases the power of charged attacks for a certain duration.

Elden Ring Spiked Cracked Tear Notes & Tips

  • Duration : 3 minutes
  • Charged attacks +15%
  • Does NOT affect Sorceries or Incantations
  • Has been observed to stack with the Roar Medallion when using Charged Heavy Attacks after executing a War Cry.
  • Stacks with the Axe Talisman (charged attacks +10%)
  • About +26% when paired with Axe Talisman (See below)
    • Data acquired by testing on a giant, always hitting the same leg part and repeated the test multiple times.
    • Vanilla charged attack : 329.
    • Charged attack with talisman : 362 ⇒ 10.03% increase.
    • Charged attack with Spiked Cracked Tear : 378 ⇒ 14.89% increase (we can assume this is due to some rounding of the displayed damage numbers, it's most likely 15%).
    • Charged attack with both talisman and tear buff : 414 ⇒ 25.84% increase (again we can assume this is due to some rounding of the displayed damage numbers, it's most likely 26%).

Spiked Cracked Tear stacks amazingly with Axe Talisman, Highland Axe, Roar Talisman, and Braggart's roar (Strongest War Cry). Use Exalted flesh or Bloodboil aromatic and your damage will surge. if you are feeling extra gross, throw on a Kindred of Rot's Exultation and poison your self with Fetid Pot and your damage will be disgusting. It's themed perfectly for a berserker build as when Braggart's Roar is active, all heavy attacks will grant extra hyperarmor, meaning you can use weighty weapons and keep relatively light armor. I've wiped ganks of people with the regular old Greataxe and charged Heavy at Level 50 invasions with this.

This really should of been "Enhances heavy attacks" and just applied a flat 10-15% boost to heavy attacks, compared to other crystal tears that boost stats, increase stamina regen, flat out increase the damage of a certain element, reduce damage taken and increase damage from subsequent attacks, all effects which are easy to benefit from and provide higher relative bonuses this cracked tear is sorely lacking. Landing a fully charged heavy attack on a boss requires a big punish window and ultimately performs less then just the two or three light attacks you can land in the same window, ATM the only real use for this is in PVP with fully charged roar attacks to setup a two shot kill which is a real shame since this could of been a staple tear for strength builds if it's effect was only more applicable.

I am using this and the strength knot tear, I am level 27. I am using the greataxe, I use only strength. This is a very good mixture, it boosts my damage a lot. I recommend you use it if you are also making a strength only character.

Damn. 3 whole minutes. That's a lot. You realize there isn't going to be anything left in 3 minutes right?

So funny using this + Axe talisman and still doing about 30 less AR than a Lion's Claw. Weapon arts are so broken in this game.

People really ask for this a lot: Charged attack means FULLY charged R2 (heavy) attack. You have to fully charge the heavy attack for it to trigger. Simply pressing heavy attack does NOT grant you the bonus. It does NOT grant the buff to ANY ashes of war that can be charged, not even the ones that have charge in its name, nor does it boost charged spells.
It is SOLELY for fully charged heavy attacks!
So no, it does not stack with godfrey icon, it does not boost eochaid's dancing blade, nor stars of ruins.

For people curious about how this tear actually works: This will only affect physically damaging charged R2s of weapons. No "charged" weapon arts/ashes of war, nor the projectiles of some unique weapons charged R2s. Namely, the beam of energy shot by the Darkmoon Greatsword or Wing of Astel. It will affect the physical portion of those weapons R2, such as the damage the weapon does when it connects directly with an enemy. But the magic/energy portion is unaffected. So anyone wondering if this'll make those, or "hold down to charge or maintain" weapons like Mirais Executioner or Moonveil Katana, you're out of luck. Think of it as a flask version of the Axe Talisman.

Works with the Bolt of Granax AoW. Tested on the Oracle Envoys outside the Eastern Capital Ramparts in Leyndell with Bolt of Gransax +7, 20 strength, 48 dex. The Lightning Scorpion Charm, Godfrey's Icon, and Ritual Sword Talisman talismans were equipped. Does 1366 before the flask and 1639 after. This is a 20% boost.

this is actually sick with the poise strike dmg tear...the attacks are buffed AND speed is significantly faster on the charges for heavies

Testing with Bloodhound's Fang there was no damage buff to weapon art (L2). The damage buff only applied to Heavy Attack (R2) which was ~15%.

Considering how slow and dangerous it can be to heavy attacks, I'd choose STRENGTH-KNOT CRYSTAL TEAR instead which gives a ~6-7% damage buff to all attacks.

                          • Something to note with things considered as charged attacks is that rapiers and curved swords that have the old backstep attack that was moved to the R2+dodge input also get affected by the bonus of Spiked Cracked Tear. I'm assuming it works for other forms of charge bonus'. I'm early into a new character, so I'll come back to this to update.

Works on charged incantations like Frenzied Burst
                              814 (No Spiked cracked tear)
                              904 (With Spiked cracked tear)
Both were sneak attacks and fully charged, tested on the torso of a giant

Did some testing on the mobs by the Gatefront bonfire, using the Darkmoon Greatsword.

It seems that just the beam from the charged attack while using DMGS does NOT get increased damage from this, only the physical part of the attack. However, if you're looking for a way to boost that beam's damage, the Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear does increase it's damage.

Using both of those Tears together and making sure both the physical and magical attacks land boosts the damage massively.

According to my test it's a +15% damage buff.
Does not apply to guard counter, since you can't charge them.
