Stamina

Type Base Stat
Effect A resource consumed by most player actions.

Stamina is a Base Stat in Elden RingStamina is the green bar and a stat that appears on the player's HUD and stat screen. It is used for most of the actions that the player character performs. Stamina can be increased by investing points into Endurance when leveling up or by equipping certain items. Stats determine the strengths and weaknesses of your character. Stats can be increased by spending points to them after leveling up.

NOTE: As of Patch 1.08 a bug where stamina would replenish when switching to a crouching position while running hand has been fixed.

Stamina Elden Ring Guide

  • Stamina is a resource consumed when attacking, sprinting, blocking, dodging, and casting spells. It is one of the most active stats, as it determines the amount of energy left to perform actions.
    • Out of combat, the user doesn't consume any stamina when performing such actions.
  • It is especially needed in Combat. If your Stamina gets depleted, you won't be able to dodge, block, attack. or quickly flee.
    • Depleting your stamina during battle is always dangerous. For that reason, managing your stamina is a essential mechanic to master.
  • Stamina automatically recharges passively.

How to increase character Stamina in Elden Ring

  • Stamina can be increased by adding points to the Endurance stat when leveling up.
  • Using a Rune Arc with the effect of Radahn's Great Rune
  • Equipping some Talismans or using some consumibles, stated below.

ELDEN RING STAMINA NOTES & TIPS

  • Stamina increase per Endurance level:
    • The soft caps are 15, 30, and 50.
    • The formulas for calculating Stamina are as follows:
      • Level 1 - 15: 80 + 25*((Lvl - 1) / 14)
      • Level 16 - 35: 105 + 25*((Lvl - 15) / 15)
      • Level 36 - 60: 130 + 25*((Lvl - 30) / 20)
      • Level 61 - 99: 155 + 15*((Lvl - 50) / 49)
      • The resulting number is always rounded down

Fighting players in pvp has me wondering if stamina is even a stat anymore, I hate rolling through like 10 r1’s and attempting to punish only to realize he has another 10 in the tank.

I never go beyond 25-30 endurance even on great weapon builds and without any extra buffs it feels like plenty of stamina. I don't really mind easy stamina management in ER. in DS3 I usually went for 35 endurance + Prisoner's Chain, FaP, grass consumable and it still wasn't comfortable and limited builds quite a bit

          170 Stamina at 99 Endurance

          10% from Erdtree's Favor +2
15% from Viridian Amber Medallion +2
          15% from Radahn's Great Rune
15% from Greenspill Crystal Tear (3 minute duration)
20% from Bloodboil Aromatic (60 second duration)

for a whopping total of 341 stamina

          then for shield users
Fingerprint Stone Shield +25 [Standard Affinity] 86% Guard Boost
Greatshield Talisman reduces incoming stamina damage by 20%
Scholar's Shield reduces incoming stamina damage by 35% (60 second duration)

for a total of 92.72% Stamina Damage Reduction from blocking

Best idea to get 99 stamina and 99 strength now my name can be giant crusher lover and I will have 6 giant crushers then I will put 6 war cry on all my giant crusher (unstoppable build)

            • These stats are absolutely meaningless. I don't know why Elden Ring decided everything needed to be so complicated, especially when the only thing that matters with stamina is: why does it deplete quickly. That's it. That's all you need to know about stamina. Just make this stuff less "dungeons and dragons." Nobody cares about your algebraic formula for stats. Just make this stuff more clear. Does X increase my stamina? Then that's good.

Is there any info on stamina regen penalties? (i.e. regen is reduced while blocking, some spell startup animations, etc.) I'm curious as to how this interacts with regen boosters, but might have to test it all myself

On launch: oh my god the stamina economy is so forgiving, i can R1 ten times in a row and I'm level 1, this is insane

Today, with 40 end, viridian+2, erdtree favor+2, and turtle talisman: i need more stamina

                  • Anonymous

I've tried googling, youtubing and doing everything in my power but can't find literally any information at all about stamina cost in relation to casting spells. Like it's obvious some spells cost less stamina because you can see it in your HUD. But it seems like every spell is different and you can't look in your STATUS screen and cast or anything at the same time to try to see how much stamina is used in relation to how much FP is used. Does anyone have an idea if it is like, you use 2x or 3x as much STAM as the FP it cost for the spell or something? Hard to determine and think if I should raise END as a pure caster when you have no clue how much STAM is being used per cast at all.

Can't believe I'd ever have to say this about a Souls game, but... stamina is really, really, really underrated

Assuming that the percentages listed along side flat numbers on regen increasing items are correct (which are consistent with each other at least)

Our character's base stamina regen rate is 45.45 rounded down.

I really wish this game had negative stamina regen like ds3 ,if u stack a few of them on bosses they just stand still

                          • Anonymous

Uhhh base Regen not on the stamina page but stamina Regen boosting items have a percentage next to them. So I assume its around 40-50 per/sec

                            • Anonymous

Poison should suppress stamina regen, it would give it its own flavor instead of just a slow version of bleed

Honestly I feel like stamina recovers too fast in this game. It allows for people to pursue too easily without the opposition being able to get breathing room. In the older games you could pressure an enemy with well timed attacks if they got you low and then try to heal yourself if they get the message, otherwise you could punish them for being overly enthusiastic about finishing you off and turn the tables. Now with stamina regen being so good on top of stacking with stamina regen items better than ever before you can practically chase forever with no repercussions. It pretty much encourages any weapon that can chunk fast to be used or powerful ashes instead of anything else.

Some of the equations presented on this page seem to be incorrect - I'm filling out a spreadsheet with these values and using the formulas to calculate the Stamina value from a given Endurance level, but I'm seeing big inconsistencies with the stamina values at higher levels.

FLOOR(130+25*((Lvl-30)/20),1) is giving a Stamina value of 167 at level 60, which is much higher than the 158 it should be. I've noticed these inconsistencies around levels 32-35, and again around 51-60. This doesn't seem to be a byproduct of Google Sheets' floor() function; using the formula with no rounding still produces the incorrect result after manually rounding.

You guys couldn't just put this information on the same page as the endurance page in general? Really? Why so many splitting hairs with the pages jees

to anyone who can edit this wiki:
under "how to increase character stamina in elden ring", both entries ("Stamina can be increased by adding points to the Endurance stat when leveling up." and "Each Point you assign to Endurance increases your Stamina") are saying the same thing.

Would be nice to see here a chart about weapon types and their R1/R2 Attack Stamina cost. Maybe even a Jump/Roll cost.

With 99 endurance, I get 170 base stamina. On top of that, if I use Erdtree's Favor +2, Viridian Amber Medallion +2, Radahn's Rune, and Greenspill Crystal Tear, I get 284 stamina.

As of patch 1.04, Endurance and Mind were buffed at lower levels. I unequipped all of my items and went to Rennala to respec. My character is a Vagabond, so the chart starts from 11 Endurance. I manually calculated the "increase from previous level", so apologies if there are mistakes:

Feels like stamina regen has been turned up a ton because I try to play really aggressive and I think I've run out of stamina like twice in 100s of duels and I'm not even stacking high endurance/regen.

                                              • Do we have any stats yet into how much stamina things cost? Rolling at different equip loads, blocking certain amounts of damage, boosting with your horse, sprinting, etc.?

Do we also have any numbers about exactly how stamina regenerates?

Something I've notice, maybe need testing, but if you fully deplete your Stamina, you will not be able to sprint for a time - don't know if it's until you have fully recovered your Stamina or it is a set time.

Is there any item or stat you can invest in to reduce the stamina cost for things? Like a way to have a spellcast cost less stamina? Or is increasing stamina the only option?

                                                    • Anonymous

any items to buff stamina so if i want to pvp at a certain level i can also have more stamina without putting points into endurance when i need damage?

                                                      • So glad they comboed vitality into endurance like they did in dark souls 1. Makes doing full on strength builds with heavy armor and weapons that also need a lot of stamina to swing said weapons so much easier.

                                                        • Anonymous

Small arms do not need to worry much about endurance and consequentially stamina as their attacks do not require much at all. Spell casters may want to invest a little bit because normally they're holding at least 3 moderate sized weapons.
Attackers who are all about whole a big weapon to do big damage but don't care for armor will definitely want some endurance just so that their big stick doesn't slow them down.
Knights and those who prefer to bunker down behind a huge wall will always need high endurance. Without stamina, you can't block good.

I guess my game is bugged cuz my green bar always stays full unless I’m on my horse and I can attack/roll infinite times in a row
