Stargazers' Ruins Walkthrough
As you enter the main building of the ruins, you will hear a girl's voice whispering "Sister... Where did you go?" The Voice is coming from a Spirit Jellyfish in the area. Assuming you already have the Spirit Jellyfish Ashes, use it to summon her sister, Aurelia. Upon summoning the spirit ash, the sisters will have a conversation with each other, then both will disappear afterward. You don't have to worry about your spirit summon as it will remain your equipment. Remember: You cannot have a Furlcalling Finger Remedy active to summon spirits. Nullify its effects by selecting it again in your inventory, and you can proceed with unsealing the ruins.
After that, head down into the underground chamber of the ruins and open the chest located within the room. This chest contains the Primal Glintstone Blade. Note that you must summon your Spirit Jellyfish Ashes beforehand in order to unseal the door. On the eastern part of the ruins, there's a corpse holding a Freezing Grease.

Has anyone notified Miyazaki that he accidentally allowed a happy ending in one of his games?

So just to be clear since some people are bummed that the quest doesn't like, add the 2nd jellyfish to your summon or anything like that: Aurelia (or jellyfish) and Aureliette were twin girls. They died before they turned 14 and without seeing the stars and were buried near the Stargazer Ruins. They were reborn or reincarnated or their souls morphed, into Spirit Jellyfish. Then somehow, Aurelia as a jellyfish died and her ashen remains we use to summon her near rebirth monuments ended up far from her sister.
We don't get a 2nd jellyfish, because jellyfish Aureliette isn't dead she's just something of a lost soul confused about where her sister is. They don't turn into anything else (like spirit squirrels), we just reunite them and allow some kind of closure; they saw the stars together. The best possible interpretation of this is that Spirit Jellyfish (or at least these sisters) are souls with lingering regrets, and Aureliette being able to meet her sister and see the stars together was allowed to pass on. But we lack any meaningful information on these jellyfish that helps explain them beyond the fact they appear near sacred ground aka near graveyards and catacomb entrances.
All that said I do wish this quest upgraded the ash into even just a renamed version "Spirit Jellyfish Aurelia", but it makes sense that there's no bigger result. It's a happy ending because reuniting them means her twin sister doesn't have to spend eternity floating in that spot confused about why she's alone when they promised to go there together.

The music at Mountaintop of the Giants sounds like the beginning of the intro music to Star Trek: The Next Generation, "Stargazer" was the ship where Jean-Luc Picard served before being captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise, and this whole questline recapitulates the plot of the series's pilot, "Encounter at Farpoint".

Might want to edit the bit about the Jellyfish sisters. From standing in front of the underground stairs (looking NorthEast), look left and take the slope down and around. You'll need to deal with a few vampire bats, but then you'll come across a small graveyard. With two VERY prominent gravestones that give you a prompt to examine them if you get close. Its the graves of the two sisters, whom were children. Yup, all the Jellyfish in the game are the souls of dead children....

So, I happened upon this ruins without reading up on it first. I defaulted to Mob Rules @ ruins and summoned my favorite mob counter, the Greatshield Soldiers. After I wandered around a bit I concluded that the Jelly was what I needed to interact with, but didn't know how to. So I read this article and uh-oh, I'd already summoned.
It is a form of save spamming, but if you exit the game and re-enter you can re-summon.
Problem solved.

Kinda disappointing this doesnt like buff or change your Jellyfish in a way (like a second jellyfish), or that Roderika wont even comment on you completing this task. But still a cute short side story.

if you accidently kill the jelly you can just reload and complete the quest

without headphones on, i thought the voice was coming from behind the seal, so i killed the jellyfish on first arrival.
then i found the graves and thought the squirrels were the spirits so i thought to cast elden stars.
counterintuitively, it seems the jellyfish spirit is the only proper named spirit ash who's name isn't in their title.
i forgot they had a name since i hadn't read their description since limgrave :/

Following some of us who found the graves nearby: When I saw that the graves say something about "never seeing the stars" I thought it was a huge follow up to the quest and tried casting all spells that had "star" in the name or description. Unfortunately it didn't work. Big missed opportunity for a secret continuity to the quest!

There is also a slope downard with bats that ends in a miniature graveyard with two small gravestone next two eachother and two spirit squirrles.
In my headcanon these are the graves of the two sisters and they got to play with eachother as squirrles.

Some of the Giant Bats here seem more purple and much bulkier. I can't tell if those are the only differences

How in the bloody fudge would anyone be able to figure this out. Quests are wack in Elden ring. U are given zero information and u have to figure it out . Honestly i havent done any side quest in elden ring without a guide.

Can someone add tips & strategies? I can't seem to parry the feels ;(

this made me cry u.u also aurelia's sister has the most soothing voice i wish i could just chill there and hear it, but THEY MUST SEE THE STARS TOGETHER!!!

Man I thought the jellyfish was the seal so I killed her :(

The girl does not count as an npc or anything so if you accidentally evaporate her with a giant fireball like I did you can just reload the area and come back

You guys should play Echo Night: Beyond. The game was also developed by FromSoftware and it's all about solving mysteries surrounding ghosts to get them to the afterlife. There was one instance where you had to calm an angry ghost girl and reunite her with her father so they can move on to "the stars". I think this jellyfish quest is a reference to that.

Sad but beautiful little quest. If you follow a small downward path slightly northeast of the ruins, you'll come across two little graves.
Inspecting the graves reveals a small epithet that reads: "Here lie Aurelia and Aureliette, who never saw the stars"
But even if they had to wait a long time, in the end you help them to see the stars.

How dumb is this, I don't use summons on this character so I don't want to obtain the stupid bell. Now I can't get this talisman.
- Anonymous
Still cant summon. I'm offline and there is no active furcalling finger. I've tried restarting my game client, tried killing all the bats, tried killing none of the bats, tried reading the headstone first, tried restarting my computer, tried summoning from my inventory, tried summoning from my equipment tab, tried killing her, tried absolving myself, tried reinstalling the game, tried using every emote in my inventory, tried waiting out her dialogue. Still no summon, is this just bugged forever or is there still something I havent tried or is there something that disallows from summoning here like progressing too far into the game. This is the only talisman I dont have yet.

O, look. From finally made an actually interesting puzzle.

When I first arrived here I legit thought it was Ranni's sister trapped down there, didn't expect it to be the talking jellyfish right in front of me, lmao.

I might be completely crazy, but... Star Trek: The Next Generation reference? When summoned the two jellyfish have colour differences identical to the lifeforms in Encounter At Farpoint, who in that episode only wanted to explore the stars together. And speaking of stars: Stargazer Ruins? USS Stargazer???

Okay so make sure you aren't in multplayer mode. Nullify your furlculring finger remedy and you will be able to summon the jellyfish.
The gesture you get from the ash interaction, Fancy Spin, reminds me of the firekeeper in DS3. Most comforting NPC in any From game
Well rip her sister: walked in and straight murked that jellyfish out of habit lmao

They reunited as jellyfish, and since you most likely have killed Radahn at this point they are able to see the stars as well :)

Don’t worry guys, the sisters are reunited as jellyfish and since you’ll most likely have defeated Radahn at this point they can finally see the stars :D

Northeast from the ruins, on a lower ledge of the cliff there are two small gravestones. When interacted, a message pops up: "Here lie Aurelia and Aureliette, who never saw the stars". I think those are the names of the jellyfish sisters :( poor things

Has anyone figured out if there's a death root near this area? I keep getting the text "Beast eye quivers." But can't find anything here besides the giant skeletons and I can't find any information about it. I killed the giant skeleton but it seems they just respawn? I wonder if a mariner is nearby hidden somewhere?

To the person asking: no, you do not lose the jellyfish ashes. Also worth mentioning that you get the fancy spin gesture after the jellyfish leaves.

summoning is bugged for me. Ive tried over and over again to summon the jellyfish but it never works. The "Use" button in my inventory is greyed out even with the purple arc icon present on the side of my screen

I actually killed the **** outta her just from muscle memory when I entered the ruins. Thankfully she respawns when you reload the area

Do you lose your Jellyfish Ashes when you do this? Might be important to note.

Summon the Spirit Jellyfish Ash to open the seal. Chest contains Primal Glintstone Blade

To unlock the gate yo need to summon the spirit jellyfish you got at the start of the game
Interesting detail with brother corhyn if you offer the tonic of forgetfulness and he refuses it, he is found again in the same place next to stargazers ruin but without the goldmask there.
The interesting part here is that corhyn says:
"Master... where did you go?
I'm right here.
Please, show me. Your finger. Your rhythms, and calculus...
Let me document the motions...
Master... Master...
Where did you go?
its the same type of longing that the sister jellyfish had as you hear her longing for her sister saying" sister.. where did you go?"
