In Elden Ring, Armor are protective items worn by the player's character which grant protections, resistances, and various bonus effects against damage and status effects, as well as influencing statistics such as carry load and poise. In Elden Ring, armor is divided into categories such as Helms, Chest Armor, Gauntlets, and Leg Armor. Players can adorn a full set of the same armor, or wear different pieces from different sets, with no additional buff if all pieces are from the same set. This means that the player can freely customise their armor to their needs without worrying about set bonuses.
Many Armor pieces have Special Effects. See Equipment with Special Effects for a list of items with unique properties that affect your stats or performance.
Armor is allowed in Player Trade online.
All Armor Sets in Elden Ring
Armor Sets are complete combinations of individual Armor in Elden Ring. Armor Sets provides players with protection and resistances against all types of damage such as Magic, Fire, Light or Holy. Wearing Armor also changes the character's appearance. Wearing all Set pieces won't grant any additional effects.
There are exactly 559 pieces of armor in Elden Ring's base game. Unobtainable items (some listed here) include: Tarnished Wrap, Twinned Greaves (Altered), Ragged Set, Brave's Set, Grass Hair Ornament, Deathbed Smalls, and Millicent's Set. If you happen to come upon a cheater online and they hack these items into your save, remove them from your inventory immediately.
New! All Armor Sets and individual pieces Poise values have been updated as of Patch 1.07. Please check Patch Notes for further information!

The vast majority of Elden Ring armor is boring, gaudy, or just ugly. Lots of opportunity for meme sets, but shockingly has the least amount of fashion souls since Demon's. Looking forward to generic soldier armor set but now in (insert color here) number 7 when the dlc drops.
- Anonymous
Here's my drip:
White mask
Black knife armor
Black knife gloves
Black knife greaves
- Anonymous
Two sets I made for anyone:
Skeletal mask (works best if your head is pitch black)
Nights cavalry armor
Preceptors gloves
Nights cavalry greaves
Raging wolf helm
Scaled armor
Scaled gauntlets (but others work too)
Raya Lucaria foot soldier greaves
- Anonymous
Since everybody is posting their drip here is mine:
White Mask
War Surgeon Gown
Ronin's Gauntlets
Ronin's Greaves
- Anonymous
why is there some dude dislike bombing every new comment here lmao
- Anonymous
It's crazy that this is the biggest souls game by a mile yet has the worst fashion. I still love this game dearly but holy **** they really missed the mark with the armor design and mixing options. DS2 is still the goat of fashion souls.
- Anonymous
Stop spaming comment section with your personal armor choices, nobody gives a crap.
- Anonymous
Since people are posting their favorite sets here I'll join the party with my favorite:
- Consort's Mask
- Tree Sentinel Armor
- Tree Sentinel Gauntlets
- Tree Sentinel Greaves
Add a weapon like the Guardian Spear or Bolt of Gransax and you have a perfect golden look imo. Called my character "The Golden Order" and played with various Golden Order and Lightning Incantations. Was one of my favorite runs in Elden Ring
- Anonymous
Fingerprint helm
Altered gelmir knight armor
Gelmir knight gauntlets
Fingerprint greaves
Idk if it was just the lighting, but it looked cool when i made it
- Anonymous
this isn't finalized yet but so far:
bandit mask
raging wolf armor
leather gauntlets (chain gauntlets but for females)
warrior greaves
(also bonus that is finalized)
godskin apostle hood
cleanrot armor
nox bracelets
radahn's boots
- Anonymous
Put Malenia's winged helm, Rotten Gravekeeper Cloak (Altered), Guardian Bracers, Rotten duelist greaves on your female character and BOOM, you have a cute rot warrior gal :)

Diallos's Mask
Raging Wolf Armor
Blaidd Gauntlets
Blaidd Greaves
Excellent drip and decent poise. Gear I would recommend are the Knight's Greatsword and the Banished Knight's Shield.
- Anonymous
Eccentric's Hood
Fingerprint Armor
Fingerprint Gauntlets
Vagabond Knight Greaves
BONUS: Sacred Relic Sword
Sorrowful be the heart, Tarnished
- Anonymous
Here's a drip combo that looks good, gives 51 poise and can be worn with 15 END.:
Diallos' helmet
Raging wolf armor (alt.)
Crucible knight gauntlets
Crucible knight greaves
I wear this with a broadsword and a staff, no weight-limit talismans. It's pretty late game, though. Before acquiring Diallos's helmet, try using the unaltered armor and the Confessor hood.
- Anonymous
my current armor is a black mask, raptors black feathers, bandits gloves (the bloody straps) and the sanguine noble dress/skirt. it has very low poise but i look like a ninja and its stylish as ****.
- Anonymous
Nox greaves
Black flame monk gauntlets
Gold mask rags
Crimson or blue hood
Another drip i use in arena duels is Malenia's Helm + Tree Sentinel torso + Traveler's Manchette + Bull-Goat legs. You get 75 poise, super good overall resistances and you look like a freaking golden valkyrie. Fashion AND functional.
- Anonymous
I will present my own favorite drip.
Mask of Truth
Fingerprint Armor
Preceptors Trousers and Gloves (Most black gloves and boots work. i.e Royal Remains, Nights Cavalry.)
Any weapon works but I like dual scavengers curved swords
- Anonymous
bloody skull
royal remains helm
alt night cav armor legs gloves
Since people are posting their drip, here one that goes with any build since you can simply change the torso : Malenia's helm + Traveler's manchette + bull goat legs + any soldier torso. Playing with a fire build ? Redmane soldier's. Int build ? Cuckoo's. Lightning ? Leyndell's. Holy ? Elphael's. The mausoleum one also fits well and reaches 60 poise with decent overall absorptions (everything above 20%).
- Anonymous
Here i my favourite combination:
Diallo's helm
Traveler's clothes
All knowing gauntlets
Traveler's boots
you can swap the gauntlets with any plain ones if you want but some don't work as well as others
- Anonymous
marking my territory right now, that dude with the gravity looking spear/lance in the dlc trailer has the most disgustingly cool looking armor set from what i've gleaned and it will be mine and mine alone

DLC armor. Can’t wait to grind away murdering some rando enemy for their fashion.

I really appreciate that this page has good-sized previews for almost all the armor sets, right on the page.

Fool you say I’m maidenless, I am the maiden *puts on finger maiden outfit*

Kinda hate how on most armor they didn't even bother trying to fit it the female body type's shape. They just copy pasted the male variant. Huge arms, broad shoulders and flat chest, literally looks like a walking fridge. No shape whatsoever. In DS3 they did a better job.

Asking souls players, how many armor sets that FromSoft usually add when they drop a DLC?
- Anonymous
Does incantation scarab really cut fp cost by 15% like the website says? I stacked it with primal glintstone which has a 25% and the total gave me roughly 35% when I saw wrath of gold cost go from 40 to 26

Here’s my drip:
Confessor hood
Nights cavalry armor (unaltered), gauntlets and greaves
If I go for light load I use:
Prophets blindfold
Duelist armor (altered)
Duelist greaves
best drip:
bloodhound helm
malenia gauntlets
lionel armor
fire prelate greaves
Here's my drip:
Skeletal Mask / Black Hood, or Banished Knight (unaltered)
Banished Knight Armor
Scaled Gauntlets
Blaidd's Greaves
Twinbird Kite Shield
The Carian Knight Sword looks really good with the fit, but so do most weapons.

Imagine if fromsoft made a game where armor customisation was similar to what it was like in Morrowind where you can wear individual armor pieces and have pauldrons and wear armor specific capes on other armor sets. Taking it step further, imagine if fromsoft gave you the option to wear undergarments purely for the drip or recolor armor sets. Please fromsoft.
- Anonymous
Some people dont get that, older Fromsoft games had DLCs which increased the overall number of sets in the game. Be patient and let From cook, they gon drop top tier fashion in the DLC.
- Anonymous
the dancer boss from ds3 armor and the ringed knight armor is all i ask
- Anonymous
this game has some of the worst armor designs in the entire fromsoft lineup
- Anonymous
I get it, elden ring had to start from a blank slate and every single set is new and all that but... dark souls 2 had like 30 sets more while being smaller? and any of them were recolors. That and the lack of distinguishable animations/armor features between genders, uh I mean, "body types" makes every character I play with feel samey
Am I the only one that feels this lack of variety?
- Anonymous
I wish for any crown. The only game wigh the proper crowns was Dark Souls 2, DS1 had only goofy looking Gwyndolins thing and DS3 had Wolnir's that also looked like hobo version of a king's crown
- Anonymous
People are just being salty that armor sets with highest poise/defense values aren't also the most fashionable. I genuinely hope froms will not change this tendency in DLC so pro gamers will further stick to scaled/veteran/tree sentinel sets and cry about it.
- Anonymous
You are missing an armor I just looted :o Never seen it before as well.
- Anonymous
You are missing an armor set here, I just looted it. Never seen it before myself. Maby its a rare drop?

After playing the recent Lords Of The Fallen I can't go back to the fashion with this game. LOTF has some issues for sure but the ability to dye your armor different colors means you can mix and match whatever sets of armor you like and make them look like one coherent set with a simple push of a button. Dozens of different dyes.
The next souls game NEEDS this feature. Imagine taking the knight set from this game for example and instead of the blue and silver it's now gold and red.
Fashion is such a big part of this series and especially with Elden Ring so many of sets are so goofy looking that mixing pieces is just so silly looking.

Why do literally all the best looking sets have to drop in the endgame at mountaintop of the giants?
- Anonymous
Wish there were more greens to work with. Or at least more neutral colors in general.. Reds, blues, and yellows seem overly abundant in comparison, yeah?
- Anonymous
I wish weight had some kind of slight direct relation to your equip load and effects you would get from it, like when it comes to rolling, you can only roll in three different ways depending on what your armor is, light, med, and heavy. If you look at all the armors in the game, some are objectively worse than others, because an example is like while it may weigh more, youd still have a med load either way so it doesn't matter even if you think it looks way better and fits with your character. If equip load had some direct relation, like maybe your equip load ratio would directly affect your movement speed or something like that. If that happened literally every armor piece wouldn't be OBJECTIVELY better than the others, like at least you would always have some small way to justify wearing something you think looks better.
People saying DS3 has the best fashion? Uhh did yall play the absolute best DS2?? Clearly has the best armours and mix and match sets its well known for that. Amd the coolest looking weapons. Elden ring 2nd.

Ds3's mindset of armour being only for decoration on top!!! Poise? What eve is that!! The only stats i know are swag, drip, and bling.

shooting my shot earlier than i would here, with the dlc hitting soon (lmao) and hopefully (mercifully) adds new armor that doesn't look like elon musk at the beach with armor of a slightly different hue, figured i'd drop every compatible form of fashion i've come up with using the minimal amount of compatibility in this games armor selection:
Raging Wolf Helm
Hoslow Armor
Carian Knight Gauntlets
Blaidd's Greaves
-
Black Hood
Black Knife Armor
White Reed Gauntlets
Preceptor Leggings
-
Blue Hood
Swordstress Armor (altered)
Traveling Maiden Gloves
Leather Boots
-
Red Hood
Drake Knight Armor (altered)
Malenia's Gauntlet
Leather Boots
-
Black Hood
Fingerprint Armor
Bloodstained Gloves
Nomadic Merchant Pants
-
Marai Helm
White Reed Armor
Maiden Gloves
Drake Knight Leggings
-
Skeletal Mask
Night's Cavalry Armor
Blaidd's Gauntlets
Scaled Greaves
-
Commoner Headpiece
Champion's Pauldron
Godskin Apostle Bracers
Duelist Greaves
-
Night Maiden Armor
Rennala's Gauntlets
Raging Wolf Greaves
-
Carian Knight Helm
Royal Knight Armor
Hoslow's Gauntlets
Mausoleum Greaves
-
Black Knife Hood
Blaidd's Armor
Beast Champion Gauntlets
Royal Knight Greaves
-
Alberich's Robe (altered)
Warrior Gauntlets
Confessor Leggings
-
Black Hood (again)
Banished Knight Armor (unaltered)
Scaled Gauntlets
Vagabond Greaves
that's all i could come up with for now, so remember now and always: fashion over function
Apparently FromSoftware's idea of good looking armor for women is just towels. They didn't even bother modifying a lot of the armor models for female characters. If most of the armor sets were made only with male characters in mind, you might as well just delete the body type choice in the character creation menu, because the vast majority of the times it doesn't even have a perceivable difference other than maybe being generally smaller (no, that's not the solution).
It seems like the devs didn't look for enough opinions for the armor designs, for a series partially known for it's fashion, of all things. Giant missed opportunity, I hope the DLC adds more diverse armor, but even then it will probably be a chore to get it because you would have to play half the game to access it, so it would only have half the effect it should've had.
- Anonymous
fun fact about barefooted leg pieces… you get boot footprints in muddy/wet ground instead of barefoot………..…my immersion is ruined
- Anonymous
I don't understand how sorcerers wear the most hideous armor sets I have ever seen in a souls game like lusats set and azure glintstone set and I see these sets alot in invasions and duels and my real question is do they wear it for Stat benefits or do they wear it cause they think it looks cool?
- Anonymous
Really wish there were more "normal" armors. All of these are all either very artistic or look like they've been around for a couple of hundreds of years., I'm looking for stuff like Faraam, Drakeblood, Cathedral or Lothric Knight. In general, everything in this game looks very worn-down in general, like 90% of all weapons and armors look blemished in some way.
- Anonymous
The problem with Elden Ring sets is that none of them matches well except when you wear the full set. DS3 sets not only has much better looking sets, but everything matches well. I hope the dlc fixes this.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
One thing I wish From Software expands on in future games are armor pieces that provide bonuses other than basic damage negation and resistances. They do this quite a bit with headwear: there a lot of helmets that boost damage and gives extra attributes. But most of the chest armour pieces, gloves and pants have nothing interesting in this regard.
- Anonymous
If what I notice appears to be the case, heavier armor is practically pointless, in the more recent update? Everything seems to stagger. Which means
Bull-Goat and Veteran wearers are either going to make lighter builds are quietly retire the game.
- Anonymous
Lol, so many blind zero taste people here. ER has the best fashion of all Souls games. The majority of DS1-3 sets look bad or cheap. And now you can detach affing cloaks. The only weak side are the ultra heavy sets like bull-goats.
- Anonymous
These sets are so much worse then ds3 also why do none of these sets match with weapons
- Anonymous
Easily some of the worst looking sets. DS3 and especially DS2 looked so much better. DLC needs to give us better options I speak for everyone btw
- Anonymous
Why most of the armor sets in this game are horrible? There are some rare cases of beautiful, decent and combined armor sets.

Literally my only gripe is there's no Karla's hat. The one witch hat we do have is as floppy as a pancake, and that's unacceptable.
- Anonymous
I love the enormous armor variety of elden ring, my only complaint is that tbere are very few (or even none) leg pieces with skirts on them, the only thing similar to those are all attached to chest pieces; other than that great armors!
- Anonymous
I like the coif and fingerprint set because of dark souls everything else you wouldn't see in a medieval fair. Straight up clown outfits.
- Anonymous
I dont get all the hate for the armor sets, did we play the same games? A lot of the sets people like in the older games r just there for fanservice and since ER is a new universe we cant have those sets obviously... we got a more mediavel approach to knight factions which is just fantastic for history nerds, the weebs get to go all out with the ronnin set, wizards have the cutest and fanciest lookin BIG HAT of all time, pyro users get the dopest pimp set that is the blackflame monk set, paladins have a ton of golden armor variety and for all naked with only a goofy hat fellas we have the pot and albinauric helm. I feel like every sort of player should find at least 2 sets of armor of their taste and the people complaining about variety rlly should check out ds3 armor sets and see how few the original and unique armor sets there were ( literally 1/3 of the sets are callbacks) fanservice can be good, but we cant fromsoft to just put in everything from ds 3 into elden ring man ffs ppl always criticizing this game on such idiotic topics
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
I feel like developers treat us like total idiots with how many symbols these armor sets have to point out some thing. For example beast champion - lets put 12 beast icons on the chest and leggs and if this isn't enough lets make a helmet out of beasts because naming it "beast champion" isnt enough for anyone to notice that it has something to do with beasts.

Would've been nice if From brought over some sets from their older games. I understand that Elden Ring isn't technically a sequel to the Dark Souls games but the variety of good looking armor sets in ED is lacking.
I'd argue the overall armor set aesthetic quality is not nearly as good in ED as it is in the Dark Souls games and Bloodborne. It could be argued that is due to not having the benefit of recurring armor sets from previous games, but every DS game and Bloodborne added a lot of nice looking new sets, more than enough to compete with the amount of good sets in ED. Whomever was involved with the armor designs in ED just dropped the ball it seems.
