Creates cooperative multiplayer summon sign
|
Tarnished's Furled Finger is a Multiplayer Item in Elden Ring. Multiplayer Items allow players to interact with each other in various ways, including leaving messages for other players to read, co-operative gameplay and competitve gameplay like PVP.
Item for online play.
(Can also be used from the Multiplayer menu.)
Creates a summon sign for cooperative multiplayer.
Arrive as a cooperator (Furled Finger) with the objective of defeating the area boss of the world to which you were summoned.
A finger of corpse wax, furled like a hook.
It is a relic of those who came before, left to help those who would come after.
Tarnished's Furled Finger Location in Elden Ring
Where to find Tarnished's Furled Finger:
- At the beginning of the starting area, go past the big wooden door, and just past the Site of Grace, you will find 1 alongside a Finger Severer.
Elden Ring Tarnished's Furled Finger Guide
- You can leave a gold summon sign to play cooperative multiplayer.
- This sign will appear in other players' worlds and allow them to summon you as a Furled Finger for cooperative multiplayer.
- Multiplayer begins once you are summoned. (Your goal will be to defeat the area boss.)
- If you leave a second summon sign, the older sign will vanish.

Can't blame people for summoning super high level players when the coop mechanics clash so heavily with the open world design. Why play through the entire midgame on a new save to coop with your level 60 friend when you can just boot up your tried and true level 300 save with every grace unlocked? It just makes sense for convenience, thats why the seamless coop mod exists.

Do the signs only show up at the statues you need to activate or do they show up there and where you actually put it down at?

People complaining about downscaling in invasions need to consider this. Invasions were never meant to be fair. Theres no way you could possibly balance a 3v1 scenario. Thats not saying its perfect by any means, but people expecting a perfectly balanced pvp experience are playing the wrong game

Imagine a world where FP was downscaled. actual invasion utopia
- Anonymous
lets go down the list of things that don't get properly downscaled and make super over-leveled phantoms actual hell to fight against in invasions:
FP - infinite spam
Catalyst buff - infinite spam that also does a ton of damage
Guard boost - they have uncrackable shields
Stamina damage - your shield gets cracked instantly
Status application - you get bled out in 2 hits
Damage negation - they're tanky as hell
From pls fix, I don't want to have to kill 2 bosses every time I invade

People want Password summoning nerfed because someone might cheese their way through the game? Why? Are you crying yourself to sleep at night cause some random stranger played the game 'wrong?" Who cares?
What is about Fromsoft games that turns its fans into unhinged lunatics?

A low-level, uncoordinated jobber being attended to by a level 9,001 Super Summon player is basically like some of the NPC characters in the Soulsborne series. Low-tier, inept, unconfident characters from *insert country name here* being aided through the Hellscape by their guardians and whatnot, only to be betrayed, or get jobbed, or assassinated or whatever. Fits the lore.

Fromsoft either needs to crack down on the proper downscaling for PvE and PvP or just remove password summons all together. Too many times do I see some heavy-rolling sub 40 vigor clueless host being coddled by their level 300+ phantoms. I get that some people want an easier experience, and that is totally fair, but to the extent where you don't even know the fundamental mechanics of the game is just completely asinine.

Built my character in 3 stages ; Lvl 81, 141 and 201. Currently on NG+3 , haven't had any trouble summoning on the main route of the game. Some of those late game bosses are fun when you have 3 people with decent builds that make the fight last.

A few reasons why you're not getting summoned (feel free to add more):
. Connection issues - I find this especially true when my upload speed is down. Check your internet speed and/or if possible try a wired connection.
. Over or under leveled - Most players (even on NG+ and beyond) will hover around level 150, so being anywhere between 135 - 165 is probably the best window for summoning, especially for endgame areas. You can bypass this when playing with friends by using a multiplayer password. You or the Host being on NG+1-infinity will likely not affect this, just don't be surprised if you get one-shot by a boss or enemies if a NG+12 Host summons you.
. Timing - Certain times of the day are slower than others. I have cross-region matchmaking enabled and found that during certain hours I join or encounter Japanese players more than US players.
. Your summon sign is not showing up - This can happen even when you have a multiplayer password on: a friend couldn't find me and I just had to put my sign down again at another spot. In other cases, it's simply a case of other players putting their sign down at the same spot. Switch to summoning pools via Small Golden Effigy and see if it makes a difference. Just be sure you have them activated in the relevant area.

it hurts my soul to see a noob host being a spectator while their lvl 500 coop friend obliterates everything in the map, like let them play the game too bro lol

I never picked up this item on NG. Went into NG+ and it’s not there. Not in my inventory anywhere nor do the husks sell it. Nearly level 500 anyhow, so not a game breaker, but rules out any chances of password summons.

man random coop is such a crap in this game eather you don't get summoned for ages or if you do open world co op romance is boring and slow

Can I still be summoned to help other players with, say Melania, if I have already defeated her in my world?

Forgot about it, killed the goldy boy on a horse, went on a 30hour journey, was reminded of multiplayer by volcano manor, looked at the multiplayer menu and, lo and behold, there ain't no yellow finger.
Not only in my equipment, it disappeared from it's spawning place as well.
Beware, always take the finger. Otherwise, it'll be gone faster than value of shares in cryptocurrency.

Is it possible to play with a friend that is in NG while being in NG+?

Ive observed that once a boss of the area youre trying to be summoned in dies that player can no longer use a remedy to coop or just wander around together :(

i went to level 175 in my first game, and now when i use this, no one summons me even at starscourge boss fight. is it because my level is too high? Also i tried invading and it failed as well

If you’re summoned into someone’s else game to beat a boss and defeat him, does that count in your solo play if you haven’t defeated him yet?
