Tree Surcoat is a Chest Armor in Elden Ring. The Tree Surcoat is not a part of an Armor Set, and shares a basic model with the Eye Surcoat. The Tree Surcoat is an armor piece worn over or around the player's torso to obtain an increase of defense and resistance. It also changes the appearance as well when it is equipped. Some armor pieces may be available to both genders but may be slightly different for male and female characters.
Blue surcoat draped over chainmail.
The tree insignia emblazoned on the front depicts the Erdtree, and is a design beloved throughout the Lands Between.

I’m on an early game straight sword bleed build atm and really want to wear this. But I just can’t bring myself to sully this surcoats reputation with a ganky bleed set up.

This armour pairs nicely with the Black Fire Monk hood as that hood is chain mail it has the same texture as the arms on the Tree Surcoat.

I'm using this on my John Elden Ring run with Knights helm and scaled Greaves and gloves for over 50 poise. Plus blue gold shield and partisan.
Back in the lands between for one last job!

Easy to get very early game. And can be had without triggering quest progressions if that's a thing you're worried about. You can dodge your way into Fort Haight, Fort Faroth, and pass the dragon for the academy key, take the elevator to Altus, hook a left at the fork in the road, and buy from the merchant. All done without fighting anything. So long as you don't rest at a grace no quests progress and no NPCs move. The chain set, with this surcoat and the bullgoat's talisman gives you 55 poise. Personally, I'm rocking the Radiant Goldmask in place of the chain coif for a stylish 51 poise.

Never understood why this had the tree on it, and the other one, which suits the tree theme better, has the eye.

My go-to armor when I get to Altus. Great weight/prot ratio.

One of the most fashionable chestpieces in the game. I feel like a lot of the plate armor looks awkward and have weird proportions, but this - paired with a greathelm - looks sleek, colorful, and pragmatic. Personally prefer using vagabond boots and gloves to complete the look; the tint of the pieces match.

FYI: The description in-game says 15 poise, but when you equip it, you only get 14 poise on your stat menu. Not sure if the item description or the stat menu display is bugged here.

Wore this with the Navy Hood and Fire Monk gloves and greaves, you get an awesome mix of dark blues and purples for a relatively low weight and an extra +1 to Mind. Beautiful piece that goes with a bunch of other armor options for fashion

I have seen a surprising lack of people wearing this and the Greathelm for a crusader cosplay. Guess I've gotta do it myself.

Worn by "Recusant Henricus" invader in Limgrave, along with the Greathelm, a Great Mace with the "Ash of War: Eruption". Not sure about the rest of the set he's wearing.

Can be purchased at the Nomadic Merchant on Forest-Spanning Greatbridge in Atlus Plateau.
blue cousin of Solaire’s chest piece… okay-ish for solaire cosplay but much better looking than a children’s drawing of a sun to work with
