(Before testing the weapon): I would have expected the AoW to cost more FP. It apears it ONLY costs 9 FP for the entire AoW. It must suck. (After testing out the weapon): Hear me out. I get a AoW for only 9 FP that can do up to 3000 damage! I think thats a win for me...

I just realized that his prothesis on his leg is kinda folded up when not attacking with it. He then unfolds it, jumping into the sky and then Comes Crashing Down, SMACKING YOU ALL THE WAY BACK TO KINDERGARTEN!!! Took me at least a year to recover...

dlc got me thinking how cool it would have been if this was converted into a martial arts weapon, actually getting to use it for kicking and being unique in that role by being a bladed weapon

          • Anonymous

The fact that you get these in a pair despite Niall only having one implies that he was carrying around a spare prosthetic at all times

            • Anonymous

From should have treated this item like the Omen Bairn: A high fp cost reusable item with stat-scaling damage and retaining Nial’s lightning kick ability. Turning this thing into the games worst fist weapons hurts my soul.

              • Anonymous

honestly there's a lot of fashion potential with just having these in ur offhand and 2 handing ur main weapon (never actually using these) they look kinda sick when theyre sheathed

                • Anonymous

To those of you that wanted it to be a kick weapon:
Wanting to be an amputee is a psychological disorder. Yall crazy.

When i first got this, i was so shocked like "wth Feet weapon???", and then i quickly get sad, hope the DLC have some kick weapon, i want to kick these shields

                    • Anonymous

The only thing worse than the weapon is its description. Why does it say he wore it on his first? Why does it imply he traded it for his captured soldiers? Why did that lead to deserting?

                      • Anonymous

realluy wish this weapon was a single fist like the grafted dragon with an ashe of war that overwrites the right hand ashe of war, it feels so silly

Yeah many weapons outclass it. The AoW isn’t bad in pve, but it’s useless to try and land it in pvp since most times you’ll have yourself a punishment afterwards. Should have a similar dynamic like storm assault and combo the two hits, but this possibly could be achieved if the second movement that launches you into the air had a hitbox that can stun your enemies so that you get the full damage.

                            • Anonymous

From is so lazy that they'd rather just make this a punching weapon instead of animating anything to do with kicks other than the default.

Using this things skill in pvp is just hopeless. Doesnt have the same lingering hitbox as storm stomp, slow startup, slow recovery, this thing has it all. +The damage isnt even that good! Truly an elden ring moment

"Bladed prosthetic leg enwreathed with the power of lightning"
huh, there's a weapon that you use your legs instead to kick enemies to death with in this game? little late and hard to work for it but it sounds intere-

I feel like the skill would have been better without the first part. What's even the point of having this kind of startup when you're not gonna have multiple attack options after activating it.

                                      • Anonymous

D in dex is misleading, this gets more damage off dex than str.

Both the lightning and physical damage scale up based on your dex, while only the physical portion scales up based on str. It's still a quality weapon, just prioritize dex.

Surprisingly good fist weapon for quality build together with spiked caestus and has the longest range from its category. Important to note it has second worst guard after pata which at least has great holy damage reduction so have it in mind if you like to combo with counters

                                          • Anonymous

This weapon has one pretty nice advantage over most other fist weapons being it’s longer range. It’s range may not make much of a difference in most cases but can make hitting those wonky hit boxes like Malikeths a bit easier.

                                            • Anonymous

Very solid weapon, kinda odd scaling, and you really need to land both hits of Storm Kick for it to be worth using (quick & cheap way to get some free poise, though). My only issue -- besides it being obtained late-game from a notoriously difficult boss -- is that we got a prosthetic leg and STILL don't get a Gundyr kick. Niall even wields a halberd ffs, it's like I'm being directly mocked.

                                              • This thing is so fun to use, one of my new favorite weapons. It’s got a phenomenal running R1 with a big thrust and the running R2 combos into an uncharged R2, very fast since it’s a fist weapon, and it’s ash of war is really underrated. It does a ton of damage for only 10 fp AND you look sick using it. Highly, HIGHLY recommend it to people!

                                                • Anonymous

The ash of war actually does pretty great damage for only 10 fp. The follow up lightning slam doesn't even cost anything, only the initlal storm bit.

                                                  • Anonymous

You get more damage on a quality build than on a pure dex build with this weapon
                                                    50 STR 40 DEX = 583 AR
                                                    20 STR 70 DEX = 566 AR

                                                    • Anonymous

As much as I hate fighting the boss, Commander Niall is one badass mf. I wouldn't mind dying and serving under him as a knight, if just to gank poor, unsuspecting fools

                                                      • Anonymous

This weapon scales better with dex, since the strength scaling only increases the physical damage and the dex scaling increases both lightning and physical, you’ll get more AR investing for dex here.

                                                        • Anonymous

It really bothers me the From seemingly refused to let the creativity of the idea of this weapon shine. A bladed peg leg weapon sounds so cool but because it doesn't fit any existing weapon class we have to make the biggest reach in logic to turn a leg prosthetic into a fist weapon. Why design a boss with a unique weapon and fighting style that will drop said weapon only to not let players use the fighting style? It's such a disappointment and an awful tease, imagine if Radahn's rememberance didn't give you his twin swords or bow but a talisman that altered Torrent's stats slightly

Honestly, the best way to do this is to let the shield knight stay alive and get hits in until he switches to phase 2

                                                            • Anonymous

Of ****ing course it scales with strength even thought lightning is supposed to scale with dex, nice logic fromsoft.

                                                              • Anonymous

Kinda wish the AoW was a stance that could transition into either a rushdown-kick or a high-powered short range lightning blast. The skill normally just isn’t that great, it looks cool, but I feel like it could’ve been way more badass.

                                                                • Anonymous

This thing is actually really solid versus the Banished Knights in Farum Azula. The Weapon Art staggers and then pancakes them - you have to be right up in their face to do this, and you can wait 1 second while they're on the ground (waiting out their i-frames), and queue it up again so that they're pancaked again immediately. The lightning damage is very good against them, especially if you can start off the fight by backstabbing one of the knights (critical hits benefit split damage a lot).

Still wish it had better scaling and that we got kicks instead, but oh well.

                                                                  • Anonymous

If you're wondering why this weapon scales its lightning damage so little.
Because lightning always scales better with dexterity than with strength. I don't understand why they made this weapon scale better with strength than with dexterity.
This weapon could have been much better than it currently is.

                                                                    • So weird question, does the lightning scale with strength and dexterity? Because the scaling profile looks rather similar to split damage weapons where one atat controls the weapon art

                                                                      • Now that I know this is practically a metal gearr reference, I wanna do a stealth playthrough with this, the sneak talismans and a bow and see how many places I can get thru without being caught by enemies

                                                                        • Anonymous

                                                                          • Anonymous

                                                                            • Anonymous

I understand why they couldn’t do it, still won’t stop me from dreaming of being a cripple with a peg leg.

                                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                                    • Anonymous

Is anyone else confused by the item description for this? If Niall "offered this prosthesis in exchange for the lives of defeated knights held prisoner", why does he still have the prothesis when we encounter him? Wouldn't the presence of the spectral banished knights at Castle Sol mean that he'd already made the deal and offered the prothesis in exchange for the spirits?

Comments on the weapon: Personally, I feel this is better than duel dagges, (not counting duel reduvias), the lightning element is definitely a plus, I use this as secondary after my golden halberd in PVP with my STR/FTH build if the guy tries to charge at me, especially those with twin katanas, still have no idea how to counter them with heavy weapons, if they try to trade blows they get stun locked by lightning. The WA catches people by surprsie, storm kick thrusts the blade in the ground, creating a miniture wind wall similar to the banished knights, an addition heavy attack in-put launches you up, imbuing the weapon with lighting effect and slams it down. If people wanted to roll back you could definitely catch them open with the follow-up.

Dont know if it has a longer reach then a dagger.

The con would be the weight, this thing is heavy and might affect your choice of weapons if you decide to equip this as secondary. Plus you get this really late game. Also you stole some vet's leg, not the arm, which makes it weirder
