I had a theory, and looking at the Weathered Dagger, the Inseparable sword, and the Black Knife/ black knifeprint gives me ideas, but I have one issue. What's wrong with Darian? Do Devin and Darian share one soul in two bodies? Did Darian's soul die? Because my theory is something like, Deathblight might be somehow responsible for the twins having only one soul, or at least the twins think that. Either way, the Weathered Dagger looks like an Inseparable Sword mostly eaten away by the Black Knifeprint on it. So maybe Fia was trying to convince D that she had something to do with Darian's soul dying, so she could bait D into confronting her so she could kill him. To that end, only one soul per body, so when Fia killed D, she killed his body, and the twins went back to one soul and one body. So Fia needed D to confront her so she could surprise D with Fia's Mist. Either way, the whole Golden Order thing set D up to be a gullible fanatic who thinks that Rogier got Deathblight from Fia, not that Rogier got Deathblight and then sought Fia, who could only comfort but not cure him. Fia murdered that man, but I don't know if D was ever a reliable source of information.

      • My brother in Christ, he's sitting around the corner in the room next to you, why don't you get off your bed and hand it to him yourself? Why do I have to be the errand boy, delivering items to a person sitting within earshot?

This is the dagger ranni used to kill Godfrey D knows her and fia stole it from ranni to find Godfrey so when you give it back to d he takes it to tanni and because fia feels betrayed cause she can't find Godfrey she kills him trying to get the key to get him out of the evergoal

From Fia dialog; stolen hollowbrand return to rightful owner. She mean death cursemark....it look like D use this dagger to get curse mark out of Godwyn corpse and left dagger at the scene .....and after that it look like he keep the curse mark in this room where he die in roundtable..

            • Anonymous

Can confirm that you cannot give this to D’s brother in Nokron. Seems like you have to give it to D at the round table to progress his quest

              • Anonymous

Can someone explain the connection between Fia and D, and the sense of giving this dagger to D ? I didn't find any clue between those two, Fia wants to be the companion of Godwyn and D claims to serve the Golden Order... and that's all...

                • Anonymous

I got this earlier than some other people. Haven’t killed Radahn, did visit Altus, got the black knifeprint, didn’t progress Ranni’s questline at all… Rogier’s still alive…

so I speculate that all it takes is getting the black knifeprint and maybe giving it to rogier and then reloading and talking to him about what he found out, then exhausting all available hug talks with fia

                  • Anonymous

I can confirm you can get the dagger without going to Altus or killing Radahn. Progressing Ranni's questline to where Blaidd leaves made him give the sleep dialogue (at which point Fia did not give me the dagger yet), followed by him falling asleep on area reload, then Fia decided to give the dagger.

I haven't been to altus, haven't beat radahn, and haven't got the death rune. Roger has died tho and she gave me the dagger

                      • Anonymous

I can confirm that the trigger to receive the dagger from her is beating Radahn so you can have access to nokron, i've tested, gave the knifeprint to rogier but still didn't got the dagger from her, but then beated radahn and she gave me just after, i didn't even stepped on nokron yet.

Obtained before reaching the Altus Plateau, Rogier is sleeping. There are definitely a few triggers for this

                          • Anonymous

This one has no relation to Rogier. Right now, in my game, I have the Black Knifeprint and this thing, Rogier is still talkative, Fia just gave me this, and D is still around. Just made it to Altus Plateau.

                            • Anonymous

Marred by black gash.. Did Darian die from death? His body at the back room seems like he was struck by death (status). I don't think he was stabbed.

If this is correct, the tarnished should have died too.

                              • Anonymous

I think getting the curse mark of death from Ranni's original body is the "intended" trigger for Fia to give this to you. Going to Altus just advances a bunch of quest states as well, including this one.

This appears to be another Inseparable Sword, the one that D uses. Strange how there's not two armors, but two swords, one belonging to each brother. Also Devin, the underground brother get's the Inseparable Sword despite the player never owning it until after he dies.

I just defeated Radahn; haven't been to Altus Plateau yet, and I got this from Fia after noticing Rogier fell asleep. I decided to talk to Fia and she gave me the dagger.

                                    • Anonymous

I have yet to reach the Altus Plateau. However I used the bellfreeies to teleport to the underground area. Upon visiting the roundtable I Found Rodgier dead then I talked to Fia and she gave me the dagger.

i got the dagger without reaching plateu... notable things i did before i got it were picking up 2nd dectus medaillion and killing radahn.

                                        • Anonymous

Pretty sure Fia saying she got it as a gift is just a tongue in cheek way of saying D tried to kill her (or maybe corpse Godwyn). D saying he'll return it to it's rightful owner is just him saying he'll try to kill her again. I don't think it's any more complicated than that and I don't think there's anyone else it can be given to.

                                          • Anonymous

So on NG+ i've progressed Rogier quest to the point where he dies and gives letter about D's brother. Got dagger from Fia and went to brother. You can't give him dagger, i've progressed to Godwyn body and returned - still no dialogue. And you also can't kill D's brother, he's protected by shield.

So it seems like there's only one result

                                            • Anonymous

If you're an idiot like me and can't figure out why she won't give you the dagger, you MUST accept to be held by her in order to have the option to "talk in secret". Then you can ask her a favour and she will give you the dagger. I was wondering why she would not give me the dagger and it's because I went the entire game without letting her hold me.

                                              • Anonymous

So I haven't progressed any further than Liurnia , I have received this from Fia without going to Altus Plateau. I have simply been doing the Ranni / Renna questline up to the point when you grab the doll + reach top of Divine Tower of Liurnia

                                                • Anonymous

D has an identical twin brother in the Eternal City, when you give D the blade he says it’s not his but he’ll “give it to its rightful owner” but dies instead, the rightful owner is probably his identical twin so if you wait until you meet the twin and give it to him yourself, that would probably let you keep D alive for longer? Anyone try this? I already gave it to D before learning about the brother so I’ll try in NG+

                                                  • Anonymous

I think I have some leads.

First, after rogier's death, you can loot a letterfrom him to someonw unknown, which says that D has a younger brother which is in deepslumber at the aqueduct beside Nokron, the eternal city. Continues on Ranni's questline till the point you fight the mimic tear.

Then you can access ancestral forest, following the glowing jellyfishes to reach and edge where you can jump off, here you will find the aqueduct. Drop down to the place with a sheildsword-crucible knight. Continuing along the aqueduct and right before the boosfight you can see his borther sleeping.

Since D says that this dagger belongs to someone he knows, I think it must be his brother, but I have no idea of how to wake him up.

                                                    • Anonymous

After you give the dagger to D, reload the roundtable and you will find a new door. Obtain the armor and give it to the silent man outside of the double gargoyle boss in siofra aqueduct. closest grace is aqueduct-facing cliffs

                                                      • Anonymous

You can give the dagger to D, who says he'll return it for you. Sit at the Grace and then the door next to Roderika will be open, D is dead and Fia runs away. Make sure you buy D's Incantations before this, I don't know if the are lootable after.

                                                        • Anonymous

You can obtain this from lady tanith in volcano manor and she will ask you to return it to its rightful owner. Go to roundabout table and did will accept the dagger and return it to it's owner.
