Winged Greathorn is a Greataxe in Elden Ring. The Winged Greathorn scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity and is a good Weapon for inflicting Damage upon foes and temporarily reduce their defense. Its unique Skill, Soul Stifler grants the user the ability to raise the greathorn's wings to summon a soul-sapping miasma.
Distinctive horn suffused with the power of ancestral spirits. This large, wing-shaped specimen is wielded as a weapon of spirit worship.
In the ancestral spirit-worshipping faith, these are considered envoys' wings, made to reap the lives of beings which experience no sprouting.
Where to Find Winged Greathorn in Elden Ring

I'm a Regal Ancestor Spirit Glazer, in fact I was really hoping the dlc would give us some super amped version of that fight kinda like what Lawrence was to the cleric beast because it would be funny, but I do wish this weapon did a little more. Another quality scaling great axe with no unique moveset and an okay ash that kinda encourages you to just immediately swap to a better weapon, when we already have the axe of Godrick as a quality boss axe, is a bit underwhelming.
- Anonymous
the ash of war that causes a debuff on enemies is UNDERRATED, that attack down can be the difference between a host surviving Malenia or hearing "I am Malenia, blade of Miquella..."
- Anonymous
I am at the point where I am trying to use weapons I have never tried or seen used. This ash is fantastic on bosses. Followed up with a chilling mist swing from the large club and it just eats the health bars. Those bloody antlers are the creepiest weapon in the game.
- Anonymous
For all those horns it has, shouldn't it do thrust damage? If you want an axe with standard damage, there are 11 more in the game. A missed opportunity in not adding more variants.

According to Elden Souls physics and logics, "thorny", "spiked", and "teeth-like" things causes Bleed.
So... Why this weapon doesn't apply Bleed?
It looks perfectly logical to do...

Two handing this weapon should completely negate fall damage, including fatal drops.

I like this one, it's got some decently fast attacks with good poise damage (not much recovery time as well, so it's easy to roll away), nice damage and a Low-FP friendly debuff that allows you to flatten enemies into if you can land it. Tl;dr: It's satisfying and doesn't make me feel like a cheap meta-slave... perfectly balanced, as all quality builds strive to be.

This, Greyol's roar, sword of Milos, and acid spraymist, then you've effectively home-made an easy mode!

Should of been a normal drop from the enemy’s wielding it and got like a spear that heals a tiny bit of HP per hit.

A so so weapon on its own but has utility in co op.
Best to not go quality and lean into one stat and dual wield it with a frost infused great axe.
Chilling mist in one hand and soul stifler in the other. You're not a big damage guy but you've debuffed the boss's resistances pretty good for your pals.

The AoW should have been a slow moving projectile that wouldn’t deal damage either, but could at least have more chances to debuff your enemy without taking too much damage while launching it. Sure it would need to consume more FP per use to not make it ridiculously strong.

Now that I’ve invested more time in making my latest Quality build, this weapon has FINALLY found a place ireportaire.

I feel like all this needs is to buffable or have inate bleed buildup similar to the spiral horn shield. The latter would certainly make it unique!
- Anonymous
they could have given it a cool moveset to make up for the dookie range and damage, but alas
- Anonymous
tbh it seems lame at first glace but the defense drop aow makes this thing do big damage. combine that with the speed and scaling buffs that greataxes got in 1.09 and this thing kinda rips. underrated gem
- Anonymous
yay, another slow weapon that only does damage if you're a 80/80 quality build
- Anonymous
I wouldn't say this weapon is bad, it's just not very exciting compared to so many other options. When you have so many things that feel powerful, slowly waving a stick with blue glow floating around to apply a very ordinary debuff isn't that special. Compare it to the Shriek of Milos, for example. Flashy, deals has a unique effect with lowering resistances, increases damage and lowers negation, changes your heavy attacks. Compared to something like that, it just feels so much... Less.

After some time ive come to the conclusion that this is one of the greataxes in the game
- Anonymous
I mean If you want to look like a Druid, this is your weapon.

Such a strange choice for a Remembrance weapon. I was imagining this would be dropped by the followers who use it, and maybe the Ancestral Infant Head would be the next item.

For anyone who may catch this while looking for this weapon's strengths. If you use this art and freeze an enemy, the enemies' resistance goes down significantly. Unlike most weapons, this weapon works extremely well with a quality build due to it's scaling. I have had a massive amount of success using this in pvp and pve by getting a double defence down using frost and this weapon's art then doing very large amounts of damage using throwing knives, fan daggers and kukri (all can be bought infinitely, all three scale very well for quality too).
- Anonymous
they should make this restore a tiny bit fp on kill. the greathorn hammer already restores hp
On a quality build it's actually not that far behind Godrick's axe for damage, definitely exceeds it once the debuff is applied. Problem is applying the debuff, and then you lack another skill to use alongside it. Niche, but not bad. It has good damage with the right stats. If you dislike the moveset or want a different ash of war that's one thing, but it's definitely not a bad weapon if you can use the skill effectively.

I don't care what people say about this weapon. I like this AoW, it matches well with my Necromancer build. I enjoy finally doing damage with Ancient Death Rancor.

I mean the ash of war is not that useful but I bet that in the hands of a good player it can be a great str- TWENTY DEX?!
I put this on my co-op pacifist build just to nuke enemy defenses without directly damaging them. Beyond that it's pretty worthless.

Looks like Malenia's wings...the the Regal Ancestor's arena has mushrooms growing on the ground...there's ancestral followers in the lake of rot, especially in patch 1.00...
- Anonymous
One of the few remembrance weapons that just seems to be straight up disappointing garbage, like its not even fun to use to compensate, one of the worst boss weapons if not the worst.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
The potential this weapon had to be good was so high. Could've had a running R2 that was kind of like the running attack the follower's use, could've had better scaling, the length could've been longer, it could've done more damage. Ugh, why did From Software **** the bed so hard with weapons in this game?
- Anonymous
Love it for fashion souls, but it suffers the same thing every greataxe does in this game: range is nonexistant. I don't get why can't the handle be about half a meter longer, it'd make a perfect heavy weapon for quality builds. Since Dark Souls 3, I have a feeling someone at FromSoftware really hates greataxes
- Anonymous
Probably the worst remembrance weapon in the game, even moreso than the Grafted Dragon. It's incredibly aggravating that such an interesting boss gets a weapon that is utter ass that could've just been a drop from the enemies that normally use it. Would've been cooler if we had gotten some other actually unique weapon.

While the skill is very slow and has small range, the debuff cloud it makes hangs around for a good while. It's viable to walk into a boss arena, use it, and allow the boss to walk into the cloud and be debuffed.

I wish the ash of war was a version of one of it's attacks. It has a dot effect it lays down like the ancestor infant head, a lifesteal move(which would've made more sense) Coolest move it has by far tho is its air walking, using that as a chargeup for a slam attack would have been fun.
- Anonymous
A pretty ass weapon. Once again another quality weapon that should’ve been a strength weapon. Come on From Soft, give strengths builds a little more to work with.
Dumb that this isn't a simple weapon drop from the ancestral followers that wield it. Easily one of the worst rememberance weapons

Anyone tried using this things weapon art to wake the 3rd sleeping deer where its found? There are 3 deer in total, the one noone can figure out how to wake has two singing npc women you can attack next to it. I swear theres a combo of armor / skills to summon it...
- Anonymous
uses the generic greataxe moveset, no charging attack like the ancestor dudes use :( just another awful quality weapon with an awfuller weapon art
- Anonymous
This Weapon at 48/55 STR DEX +10 is 691, power stance with Godrick at these exact stats and it's 691/698 in each hand, without taking into account the debuff ash of war. In terms of damage, both of them in Quality builds outshine literally every other greataxe in the game. Yes, their range is ****, it's ash of war lasts way too little, and i don't think it'll ever be good on PvP.
BUT... these stats are phenomenal for PvE, power stanced jump attacks act different for power stance so poise damage is insanely high. If this things Art gets buffed it'll be a great weapon (you can also just pair it with a quality Greataxe and use a flexible ash of war for less damage than Winged+Godrick, but if PvP is what you like Great weapons are parriable so don't look at this)
- Anonymous
Not only is this the ugliest weapon in the game, but it's actually a piece of crap. Bad scaling and a useless weapon art
- Anonymous
Personally the WA should last longer and more range to be useful. Or act as an aura around the caster
- Anonymous
Why are two of the three Remembrance greataxes (this and Godfrey's) among the worst in their class? I appreciate that FROM wants things to be kind of balanced, but far from being overpowered, you are nerfing yourself by using these weapons.
- Anonymous
Small but important detail: the ash of war affects damage negation and not defense, nor resistances.
- Anonymous
Using an excel graph and a player subject it seems like the WA lowers defense using the following rule: LoweredDef = 1.3(OGdef) - 30. It also always rounds UP to the 3rd decimal. Idk if it follows the same rule for bosses so feel free to check that or correct me for players.

The mist from the skill takes a while to cast, maybe like 5 seconds total. It appears in a ~2 meter radius around you. The mist itself lasts for maybe about 10 seconds after cast ends. If any enemies touch the mist, they get what seems to be -15% negation for 30 seconds. If an enemy is affected you see black swirls around their body.
Potentially good 2nd weapon to apply the debuff on bosses before going to town? If you can carry it, and not get punished for swapping, casting the skill, then swapping back.
- Anonymous
There's a really similar looking weapon in Monster Hunter but I can't remember it's name
- Anonymous
Almost nothing works for colossal swords which makes no sense. Hopefully they can change that.
- Anonymous
So is this weapon worth it ? Since the damage in itself doesn't seem like the main selling point, is the special ash good for certain builds ?

Good synergy with the Red Bear Claws, both thematically and functionally. The debuff propels the already terrifying Red Bear Hunt into one shot territory, and off claw L1 can roll catch after Great Axe R1 pretty consistently.
