Winged Scythe is a Reaper in Elden Ring. The Winged Scythe scales primarily with Dexterity, Strength and Faith and is a good Weapon for dealing and protecting from Holy Damage. Although when it comes to Physical Damage, most other weapons are superior.
Sacred scythe resembling a pair of white wings. Deals holy damage.
According to pagan belief, white-winged maidens are said to be Death's gentle envoys.

good weapon, though is pretty short compared to other polearms
- Anonymous
best tool for dealing with invaders with maxed out flasks at low level, especially since phantom hits allow for applying the duelist curse very easily.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
exceptional low level invading weapon. passive bleed, and the ability to disable flasks to get people to back off
- Anonymous
It is a crime this is so much better than the Halo scythe for scaling. This thing is so hideous.

One of the best weapon in the game for faith users, can be obtained at the very beginning. No bosses before it just run for it, affordable stats requirements, great scaling, builds up bleed, great range, and phenomenal Aow. It staggers, gives you mobility, prevents healing making it viable both on pve and pvp, and gives you absurd amount of poise. It can easily carry through the entire game.
I love getting hit with the weapon art and acting twice as aggressive when they expect you to be defensive. Always catches the opponent off guard.
- Anonymous
They need to add more reaper weapons in future dlc. Only 4 is kind of silly
- Anonymous
I hat how it still ghost procs the undead hunter charm effect even if you I-frame it.

I stg this thing gets more phantom range every time i fight a player with it

After trying this thing out it's no wonder this weapon is popular, it hits very hard in spite of the fact that its scaling isn't very high, it can of course moderately bypass blocking, its weapon art is probably where it shines the most, it does great damage while juggling humanoid enemies on top of being able to break poise quite quickly, it has pretty heavy super armor once you're in the air and stops enemy players/npc enemies from using flasks temporarily when you land a hit with the weapon art, and to top it all off it has innate bleed, its not as effective against bosses who tend to have high holy resistance and certain enemies, and its reach can seem a little short in spite of how long it is but otherwise its rarely ever a bad option for a Faith build, and it has an awesome design, and its so fun flying through the air like an angel while juggling and cleaving through asses.

The most important weapon I. This game. Prevents health chugging because that stupid albunuric pot is way too easy to dodge.
- Anonymous
Love using this on mages when the run out of FP so they can’t spammy spam for a whole lifetime

Remember not to use a holy damage weapon against bosses. It's fine against most mobs, but against bosses you need to whip out lightning and fire incantations and not rely on melee if you're a hybrid melee/faith or a pure faith build unless you're the type that uses faith for buffs but is otherwise heavily melee.

On the damage chart, what does “Sta” stand for? Or what value is the column representing?? The last column under attack power on the damage chart.. been literally eating away at me from the inside out and I give in and therefore must ask… smh.. lol my elden ring only has Physical Magic Fire Lightening Holy and Critical … where is my “Sta” lol I want some “Sta” damage too!
- Anonymous
Great secondary RH weapon for a faith build, especially in PVP. I've been combining it with thorn sorceries via staff of the guilty as my secondary LH. A nice switch up and surprise for a faith build.
- Anonymous
Don’t be fooled. This is likely referring to the death rite birds. This is not for holy paladins who salute the erdtree... but for unholy pagans who shepherd Those Who Live In Death, much like the eclipse shotel.
I wish the skill was an AoW instead of Loretta's Slash. Would have been cool to stick different damage types on stuff
- Anonymous
Love this weapon for invasions. Weapon art does a ton of damage and with the health prevention it allows you to pick off phantoms quickly.
- Anonymous
Gives extra runes when killing enemies with backstab or riposte tested in mohgwyn farming area

Still using this at around 100 hours in and only at the Capital/Volcano Manor.. I have it hitting at 727!!!

Noteworthy pros and cons:
Pros:
Great damage, physical and faith
Bleed effect
Partially bypasses blocks
Weapon art breaks poise and juggles human sized enemies
Weapon art also prevents flasks in pvp
Cons: holy damage is almost useless against a lot of enemies and bosses in the game, and holy knights with high armor will end up taking little of either type
Less range than you’d expect given its length. Very easy to miss charged attacks and guard counters other weapons would hit with
On torrent, charged attacks don’t damage enemies you run past as they charge, and the attacks are straight vertical to the side. Coupled with the short range, makes horseback jousting fights more difficult than other weapons
- Anonymous
The best thing I like about this weapon in PVP is that if you can proc the bleed effect, players and can't heal cause the WA prevents them from doing so and they take off running around trying to heal while you chase them down and finish them off. So hilarious watching them trying but failing to heal. LOL!
- Anonymous
I finished the game, tried out many weapons (Staffs, Katanas, Swords, Axes, Twin Blade, Colossal Weapons, Spears, Hellebardes) but this one is my all-time favorit. I dunno why, but I love the moveset, I love the attacks, I love the AoW... never liked a weapon in any game before like I liked that one. I will go on DEX/FAI in my NG+ and will dual wield this sexy mf.

perhaps a reach, but could this be inspired by Lothric's unused scythe from DS3? both Lothric and this scythe have some angelic theming and both use relatively similar white holy magic
- Anonymous
one of the reasons i went for a holy build in a new character was to have a weapon that didn't need to double tap undead, well i thought any holy weapon could do that but this one can't
- Anonymous
Is the weapon art super punishable in pvp? Yeah. But since you get two swipes, you have a decent chance of hitting once. As a caster, it's pretty easy (and funny) to punish people running away to find that their flask doesn't work. With so many status effects available, not healing is a death sentence
- Anonymous
I'm level 110 and still use this one. The AoW is awesome, you gain blood loss buildup and can attack very fast. I really love this weapon, nearly as much I loved Bloodhounds Fang on my Vagabond.
- Anonymous
Aiming the L2 from mid air feels soo satisfying. The ability to break poise with the L2 is another thing the weapon has going for it. Finally killing octopuses is reliably possible for new. I did not like the design at first but it grew on me. With a Mausoleum Knight Armor you will look like an awesome paladine. Definitely give this one a try with a faith paladine hybrid build!

As a dex + faith and lover of scythe, i highly recommend using this

So randomly I’ll attack a enemy and do 13,400 damage out of nowhere. Idk what causes it but I was fighting Godfrey and started doing 13,400 damage a hit randomly

This, Reduvia and Meteoric Ore Blade are really good weapons to start off a run comfortably. This for faith, ore blade for int, reduvia for arc / if you only care about dat blood loss
Why these? Somber weapons can be upgraded to +9 before beating a boss. If you do that, you even get to cheese a boss for 50k. From that it steamrolls to cheesing more cheesable bosses and poof, you're lv 70 lol

Just got this weapon on my str/fth build will be using for invasion for weapon as far as damage go there’s still better options
- Anonymous
Is this any good as a backup melee for a FTH/ARC dragon build since there's no melee weapon that has dual scaling with those two stats?
- Anonymous
Really good weapon until Blasphemous blade. Then it is completly outclassed (strictly speaking about pve).
- Anonymous
Why did they think this was okay? Its a hard hitting weapon with reach, bleed and seemingly infinite poise on the weaponart that combos into itself AND blocks flask usage? Im telling you, once bleed/rivers of blood gets nerfed to oblivion EVERYONE will be using this, and pvp will just be who can spam the weaponart first. Its just too good.

This weapon makes the game easy mode. Get the str and dex requirements, then just pump faith, and you will BREEZE through content. I'm never playing with this weapon again because it legitimately trivializes the game. Add the mimic, even post-nerf, and you will melt bosses. This this is an easy mode monster.
- Anonymous
Weapon felt great overall while playing a faith build.
It does respectable posture damage with guard counters and jumping R2s, bleed procs are great against bosses, and the split damage makes it viable against most enemies.
The weapon art is quite strong as well, as a few of them will typically break a bosses stance and/or give a bleed proc.
I also leveled up Godslayers Greatsword and Blasphamous Blade but Winged Scythe just felt stronger for general use.
- Anonymous
Gotta love the fact that seemingly no one knows play against this.
- Anonymous
Best weapon for any Faith Build... I took down the Capital Tree Sentinels and all the Black Knight Horseman on foot with this Scythe... WA gives you hyper-armor while in the Air+Holy Damge+Bleed damage... You can cause bleed stun lock on just about any enemy or Boss after your second WA move depending on your stat level and Physik... WA animation as you rise forward in the Air Scythe does a up slash hit and coming down it does down slash hit... after that just spam it again and your enemy is stun locked into oblivion... I don't leave home without my Wings!!!!

An absolute godsend for invading, nothing more satisfying than seeing a host desperately try to heal as you kill him, 10/10
If you are constantly able to hit both swings scytches WA overtakes BB WA by 101 damage, while also consuming less fp, taking as much time to do both swings as BB WA and not rendering you stationary for the cast time duration AND causing blood loss.
Tested on the godrick soldier near gatefront with 71 dex, 80 fth, 80 str, shard of alexander and fire or holy scorpion charm.
(-)
Its physical damage is absolutely ass and for a scytche the range seems to be really short. Outside of the WA it also feels extremely clunky to use, and thats not because its a scytche, ive played like 100 hours in DS3 with friedes scytche and that one was smooth af, this one is just... weird. Also most main bosses have high holy resist.
(+)
Good weapon for not so mobile bosses that have low holy resist / high fire resist / are weak to blood loss, its also extremely light, with 36 end, radagons soreseal and great jars arsenal i was able to equip full bull-goat armor with godslayers seal along with it.
(Better then BB?)
Imo generally no, but its worth getting to +10 along with BB because it can outshine it on some bosses.

most underrated weapon in the game. people are sleeping on this thing because there's no flashy effects and it doesn't look like anything special on paper but wow this weapon art is amazing. not only for the heal block, but because you almost never get interrupted and it does insane stance damage. do yourself a favor and give this thing a try if you're running a faith melee hybrid build.
Very easy to punish the weapon art if you space it correctly.
- Anonymous
Amazing fun weapon! When I get invaded I just spam the weapon art so they can’t heal and then my gank squad spell spams and kills them :)
- Anonymous
Do you think that the Anti-Healing would be a potential counter to Mogh when he enters his second phase? I haven't had a chance to test it yet but I want to do it today, I'll update if I can
- Anonymous
Used this from start of game to nearly the end of the game, not only because there arent many faith weapons early, but because its pretty awesome. Tracking makes it hard for enemies to dodge, light wieight for easy shields, makes invaders chumps due to heal blocking, bleed makes it good for bosses and somehow does okay poise damage. Pretty much only dropped it for blasphemous blade when more enemies because scary to be near or couldnt be bleeded or have very high holy resistance. If i were to do a faith build again id probably use this or halo scythe because of how late they give you the sanctified blade.

HOW?! How are people still using their flasks in PVP after I hit them with the weapon art????

HOW?! How are people still using their flasks in PVP after I hit them with the weapon art????

Big fan of this weapon. If you’re a faith build with strength or dex leveled even a little, you’ll do some very solid damage. The weapon art is outstanding- reasonably quick, does excellent damage and staggers in potentially both of its two hits.
- Anonymous
Love this weapon. Found it randomly in some ruins and happened to be the perfect weapon for my prophet. The reach and bleed, with the healing-stopping L2. Absolute beast
- Anonymous
im using this weapon right now at 16/16 str/dex and 47faith.
i do about 640damage while 2Handing
1 point of dex adds 1-2 damage, while 1 point of faith adds 2-3 damage. at +9
im really enjoying it. Its special skill "Angels Wings" prevents healing on the target.
its heavy enough that i can stagger most normal enemies, and even some bosses. to the point that the normal knights in lyndell i can just delay my attack by about a second and they just die before they can attack.
- Anonymous
That looks like a solid weapon but...not a single B at full max? Thats a little bit disappointing. Especially because the damage isnt even that high to begin with. But it looks gorgeous and i think with a good dex/faith build, you can still do acceptable damage.
- Anonymous
really good weapon for fighting mohg, power stanced these to beat his ass for my faith build
Good off hand weapon If you rely a lot on your faith spell there might be a C dex scaling but I don't see the difference in damage at all with and without high dex
- Anonymous
It scale the same at +10 between DEX and Faith?
And DEX scale only the physical Damage or both?
And Faith?
- Anonymous
Very powerful weapon for faith builds and one you can get so early in the game so it can take you the whole way.
- Anonymous
If a person invades you with this thing, you better be prepared to kill or be killed.

Is the damage additiv? Or is normal strike physical and Wings Spezial Strike Holy dmg? Or does ist also Holy dmg with normal strikes?
- Anonymous
The skill can mark invisible enemies, very useful against the assassin boss fight
- Anonymous
According to my in-game stats, it does the same dmg at 12dex 40fai and at 40/40... I don't think it actually scaled with dex at all?

Unfortunately this takes Somber smithing stones to upgrade, I thought it was reg but its attack goes up pretty nicely w/ upgrade.

good finishing faith weapon. L2 on this will slice anyone who cant time the roll
- Anonymous
Amazing weapon. I'm currently power stancing with this and a Sacred Scythe. Lot of variety in the move set with power stance and the jumping L1 is INCREDIBLE. Very good for melee oriented faith builds.
- Anonymous
Lacks a bit of damages in pve but really fun to use in pvp against ganks (until you ran out of PC)
Sneak attack is faster than normal attack and pretty good for roll catch.
- Anonymous
Pretty much useless in duels, the weapon art is too easy to dodge. Only good for gankers.
This weapon is a real beast! I mained this on my first playthrough, minimum str/dex and high faith. It has high damage, holy damage, bleed, does slashing attacks, ignores shields, has a Duel Hunter Charm WA that does a lot of damage (very effective against Invaders and Tarnished enemies that have Flasks) and it looks sick af. The only downside it really has are the relatively high stat requirements when you find it for the first time. Together with a fully upgraded Mimic you shred through every single boss like butter with this weapon.
- Anonymous
Equip a Sacrificial Axe in the offhand and 2hand the scythe, you will refill the FP constantly to use the WA often.
- Anonymous
Got invaded once, the invader approached us and my friend pulled this out. The invader immediately left.
- Anonymous
Absolutely broken gank weapon the WA effect triggers even if the hit doesn't do the damage.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
This weapon scales with Somber Smithing Stones, not the regular kind.
- Anonymous
Was really looking forward to using this weapon untill i found out it couldnt be coated or have any weapon enhancing spells applied to it which makes it completely useless for a melee + faith build that uses those...
- Anonymous
L2 on this thing is absolutely insane. Infinite hyper armor after going airborne, big stagger, great damage, good for rollcatch. It's also extremely practical for PvE if you need a guaranteed trade to finish off a boss or enemy and it has strong CC with its sweeping motion and ability to dodge over low attacks. The weapon itself also just has awesome range, speed and even has better 2H poise than a greataxe which makes no sense. Honestly everything about this weapon just works.
- Anonymous
Currently at 40 faith and the angels wings does the same damage as two casts of an incantation but in half the time.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
The weapon's weapon art (last hit) causes a debuff, the enemy you hit can't use flasks. There's a white smoke emitting from the enemy while the debuff is active. I tested it with the Mimic Tear.
- Anonymous
I have three sobering smith stones and it won't let me upgrade the weapon... Any idea why?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Love it so far. Haven't tried it out in PVP yet. But for my Str/Faith build it's amazing.
- Anonymous
I got it after defeating first NPC invader in Roundtable Hold.
- Anonymous
The weapon art is a two-hit combo in a sweeping horizontal arc that can hit multiple enemies in front of you. The second hit can often stagger, but the first hit is fairly light. Need more testing, but I'm pretty sure there's hyper armor during the animation.
- Anonymous
So far has been a great weapon for STR/FAI build, also using Sacred Scorpion Charm for extra faith dmg, great range but obviously not the fastest weapon. Also unfortunate you can't change Ash of War for better scaling but its skill is still very good.
Maybe on my next playthrough I won't randomly pick a weapon that lets you steamroll everything, makes the game too easy almost
