Zamor Curved Sword is a Curved Greatsword in Elden Ring. The Zamor Curved Sword scales primarily with Dexterity, with reduced scaling in Strength. It is a good Weapon for building Frostbite against enemies.
Weapon wielded by the knights of Zamor who earned great
renown during the War against the Giants.
In apparent devotion to winter, the curved blade is styled after an
icy wind and imbued with a powerful frost effect.
Where to Find Zamor Curved Sword in Elden Ring
The Zamor Curved Sword weapon can be found at the following location:
- Giant-Conquering Hero's Grave: Dropped by the Ancient Hero of Zamor boss found at the end of the dungeon. [Elden Ring Map Link]
Elden Ring Zamor Curved Sword Notes & Tips
- Weapon Skill: Zamor Ice Storm
- Skill seems to do around 630 Frost Buildup, being able to apply frostbite to Radagon in one full use.
- This weapon cannot be infused with Ashes of War.
- Cannot be enchanted with Magic nor buffed by Consumables.
- Zamor Curved Sword can be upgraded by using Somber Smithing Stones.

- Can be power stanced with the Bloodhound's Fang on a Quality/Dexterity build to get both Bleed and Frost innately.
- Light attacks with this weapon cost significantly less stamina than other curved swords
- NOTE: As of Patch 1.09, the scaling values of this weapon were changed. Please refer to the Upgrades Table of this weapon below. Additionally, speed, range, recovery time and guard counter speed of Curved Greatsword weapons has increased.
- The first hit has the same motion value as other CGS' but it doubles the offset from 100 compared to the standard CGS on the one hand R1 attacks, and increases disproportionately on the two hand R1 attacks.
- 1h standard CGS: 100 102 104 110 compared to the Zamor's 100 104 108 120

If you think Rakshasa's Weed Cutter is too OP, wait until you use this Ice Storm even if you're face to face with the Katana's wielder who's excited to end you. There's always a counter to everything in this game.

Incredible weapon. Good moveset, the only downside is that all attacks apart from R1 chain are quite short-ranged. The skill comes out fairly quickly, does tons of damage and is pretty much guaranteed to frostbite anything that's not immune. Makes PvE a breeze and is solid in PvP. I personally like this thing more than Bloodhound's Fang at least in PvE, it's really strong
- Anonymous
My favorite weapon in the game. Such a cool and unique weapon.
- Anonymous
I know it's meta, but I want to share my love for this sword. It's an extremely useful PvP tool, especially with From's terrible netcode. R1s not connecting? No problem! Zamor Ice Storm will take out the entire squad for you with a single L2 :D. Stacks with Shard of Alexander + Enraged Divine Beast talismans.
- Anonymous
The skill should deal physical damage. So should dragonice, borealis’s ice, and Borealis himself, as well as the Zamor ice storm spell. If it isn’t associated with either ghostflame or the dark moon, it shouldn’t deal magic damage.
- Anonymous
stop saying the R1 chain is bad. it's better than the normal moveset. This is the best frost weapon and best cgs in the game and it's not close
I feel like this weapon had magic attack, int scaling and int requirements, but they accidently deleted it and never fixed. Requirements are too low for a lategame weapon, AR also too low. The skill's storm scales with 100% of the weapon's magic attack per hit (which is ZERO) and the added flat damage of the storm scales with the weapon's INT scaling (which is also ZERO), so this does not make any sense. Why would they manually add 100 MV factor for magic attack, if magic attack is zero????
- Anonymous
One of these might seem lackluster, aside from ice storm which is a top tier skill. The weapon itself is too short, doesn't get very good AR even with high investment in both strength and dexterity, and the frostbite really only brings it in line with the damage of better curved greatswords. But when you can get TWO of them, it's a different story. Dual wielding them feels very nice. They're light, so it's not too hard. The short reach doesn't feel as critical once you escape that lame spinning R1 chain. It just takes a while to get the second, most if the way through NG+.
- Anonymous
I love this weapon. Turned the tide for me against you-know-who and I'm doing fairly well with it as well in PVP to my own surprise.
- Anonymous
I don't know if this is well known, but the AOW is pretty good against people who invest too much in defenses, I managed to melt a dude's HP in a single cast who was wearing the heaviest of sets + big jar helm. I tried to use waves of darkness last battle and it tickled him, so there's clearly something going on with zamor's curved sword.

Aside from the fact that the spell version of its ash of war is superior, this sword is crazy good for a mage build. I keep both on hand and switch between spells and this. Ice storm is crazy good. Only spell I think that's more applicable than it is Gelmir's Fury
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
okay, i think this is that weapon that my mage build, SORELY NEEDED!! I mean for goodness sake! The frost damage, the stagger you can use! the ash of war with the recent storm buff increase! never mind the fact that you don't even need much strength to really rock with this.
Not to mention this is an excellent main weapon or off hand weapon as it isn't even that heavy in the long run. i have 30 endurance on my mage build that is level 230 and for the longest time i just didn't know what to really do with the build. It had no indenity really but oh i think this weapon has finally done it! it makes maging with frost and other elements a blast!
If you are a Dex int build, please! Please pick up this weapon it is worth the hassle of the mountain tops i assure you! I will find a matchinf flame weapon or flame infuse my sytche, or do something neat with my main hand weapon of choice being a sytche, and then....all will be good and awesome!

A pretty cool weapon. But for me, it's lacking in something: the ash of war. Don't get me wrong, creating a blizzard as an AOE is pretty cool, but it could have been more flashy. Like an attack in two times like Bloodhound fang. I think it would have been cooler since the Zamor knights are fluid and swift, just like the moveset of the weapon which is really cool.

I have to say im not good at the game at all and this sword just completely destroyed malenia with the ash of war. Whenever she went down on the ground i used the ash of war, basically spent only 30 seconds in the second phase.
- Anonymous
the move set from this weapon are bottom of the lot, but the ash of war make this probably the best weapon for dealing with ganking.
- Anonymous
was already the best cgs before the dlc then they buffed it (twice) and added a talisman to buff it even more now its just broken. idk how ppl are still sleeping on it
- Anonymous
This is rediculous in the Needle Night Leda fight... +9 made it into a joke after so many deaths trying different strategies...
- Anonymous
Has anyone checked if this gets buffed by the new dancer set? I will try and test it soon.
- Anonymous
If you hug your target, the spinning R1's can sometimes spin you behind them or to their side to dodge attacks of thrusting weapons. It's a niche use but makes the weapon all the more unique and fun to use! Definitely one of the better somber weapons for that and the unique WA, in addition to just being a good class of weapon.
- Anonymous
Always loved this sword, now that it's buffed I'm scared to use it because people will probably call me meta spammer.
- Anonymous
very beatable if you use all tools given to you. ive decided not to try soloing the dlc bosses anymore and having a lot more fun since

Im thinking of making this my off hand weapon for its ash of war on my strenght build for the dlc is the frost buildup always same or do i need to upgrade it to get 630 frost in one cast?

Im thinking of making this my off hand weapons for its ash of war to use in dlc is the frost build up always 630 or do i need to upgrade it? Also how is the stance damage on aow?
- Anonymous
Amazing sword, discovered it after I finished NG+ with one character, now I want to create another one from scratch just to use it in a regular NG cicle and subsequent cicles as well.
- Anonymous
The little stalactites inside the curve should deal pierce damage. Just saying.
- Anonymous
Here's something I just learned, the AoW prevents any projectiles from hitting the wielder, and just bounces certain ones back. It may be a new bug as I'm pretty sure no other weapon/offensive AoW has that same property.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
On one side I wish this had more reach but on the other side everyone would abuse this weapon skill in the arena if it had said reach
- Anonymous
Found this early with an Enemy/Item randomizer mod. There were two early bosses that were gank squads (bosses were randomized too) and this destroyed them
- Anonymous
probably the best frost weapon tbh since it's fully physical with no int scaling, and has arguably the best skill in the game for applying frost
- Anonymous
If you charge the 2nd R2 you get a unique follow-up with a slam.
- Anonymous
such a sleeper weapon tf. the frostbite buildup on the skill is just amazing, and the skill is only about as slow as a charged R2 so theres many openings in bosses to get it off easily. especially good against radagon, maliketh and malenia. with radagon u can just chop 30% off his healthbar before he even starts attacking, and now he takes 20% extra damage for 60 seconds. and the style points for the unique R1s make it even more fun.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Split magic damage and int scaling would be cool (no pun intended)
- Anonymous
another cool weapon that you get from a hero's grave that i am NOT doing
- Anonymous
I loved playing powerstancing this with Morgot's blade.
Morgot's ash of war resets the frostbite and makes for a very cool roleplay build, and 2 insanely good skills.

This weapon isn't great. But it's really good and here's why:
- The R1 combo: Each swing is a little slower than a regular CGS. But the range you get on the first swing is nuts. It makes roll catching very easy and consistent unless the opponent has light roll. Simply take a step or two and swing and you will chase rolls down with ease. The 2nd and 3rd swings are similar and move you forward a little less. These 2 are quick though. You can either use them to follow up a successful first swing for pressure or just burn through them quickly to prepare for the mighty fourth swing. The 4th swing. A jump spin smackdown of a hit. You jump forward considerably and the attack has really good tracking that with the animation being spinny makes you hit things behind you and to the sides should your opponent roll there. You can also delay the 4th swing quite a bit after the 3rd to lull foes into thinking your combo is ending. Here's where I mention that the Zamor R1s have higher than average motion values. The 4th hit has the highest MV which brings me to my next point. Twiblade talisman is made for this weapon. That last hit does anywhere from 500-900 damage depending on absorptions with the twiblade talisman on. If you can get tricky with it you can land that 4th hit and do massive damage. Overall the attacks are good but require a little more planning and thought to pull off. If you don't mind lookin super ugly like everyone else then having high poise will probably only increase their usefulness but I don't like looking uggo so IDK there.
AoW: Zamor Ice Storm is really powerful. The animation has good armor on it and the frostbite build up is huge. If you catch someone in this they WILL get frostbitten and take a ton of damage if not outright get one-shot. It's situational and predictable but on a read it can punish immensely. Not to mention its a great keep-away tool and you are actionable about a sec before it ends so you can hide in it to cast a quick spell.
Curved GS: It's a curved GS, its good on that merit alone. Its got killer running attacks and a meaty charge attack with range.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk. This weapon rules, please give it a shot.

It’s short, slow attacks, low damage, poor scaling, and heavier than it should be. Should’ve been a normal Curved Sword, tbh.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Alright guys, sure, yes, the cute unique R1s are actually slower than R2s for some reason. And it's really, really short. It does have the second-lowest base damage of any CGS and relatively low scaling, yes (both STR and DEX are lower than bloodhound fang's). But let's not forget that it's also heavier than Morgott's.

Pulling this skill while surrounded by mobs is so satisfying. It has good hyperarmor too

Pros: amazing design, flowing moveset, strong and cool skill, passive frost buildup.
Cons: shortest in its class (not that much thanks to its moveset), aquired way too late in the game.
Using this for the 1st time. Gotta say this HAD to be dropped by the zamor knight in weeping peninsula instead of the scarseal. Bloodhound's fang sadly eclipses this, because balancing in this game is not good. I still like this weapon a lot. 9/10
- Anonymous
wish i could get my hands on one earlier into the game. would have made a fine reward from the zamor evergaol in weeping peninsula

Pro tip: If you're maxing this weapon's damage, do not go above 55 Dexterity. After 55 Dex, every point in Strength will yield higher AR.
- Anonymous
My favorite weapon.
When I first picked this thing up I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I do, but here I am.
It beats Miquella’s Knight Sword, CleanRot Spear, and Darkmoon Greatsword on my list of faves.
Great in PVE and PVP.
- Anonymous
Try this with the Snow Witch’s Robe for fashion souls. Not only does it look nice while performing the R1 chains, but it fits thematically with the AoW as well.
- Anonymous
I'm pretty sure the Ash of War on this can deflect certain projectiles. I was using the weapon in PvP and when I used the Zamor Ice Storm, it seemed to deflect some fan daggers that were thrown at me.
- Anonymous
it's a little weird of a moveset to get used to but isn't too worse compared to the standard, same attack speed similar poise damage, less range but some steps to make up for it. Solid attacks that look cute and a massive frostbite inducing stance eating aow that ONLY COSTS 15 FP. Pretty good!
- Anonymous
I like the idea of long forward steps making up for the range, but currently that is only on the first and fourth r1, the rest of the attacks are just short without anything to make up for it.
- Anonymous
Can actually trick people quite well with the delayed R1s it naturally has. A lot of people roll early and right into your swing. In my opinion it won't fully make up for its mediocre range and you're just better off with a frost-infused dismounter if you only go for DPS, but this is a fun alternative nontheless, especially if you're looking for some variety
The regular R1 attacks for this sword just looks like a dance and I love it.
- Anonymous
Wish the aow added a short frost buff but the weapon is already great enough so I'm fine!
- Anonymous
Most of the people saying this weapon is bad are the type of people to say that moonveil is s-tier. This can easily do twice as much damage with the same amount of stat points, costs less fp, and causes almost instant frostbite. And no, the lower AR doesn’t validate hate for this because all of the best weapons in pve are the best because of their ash’s not their damage.
- Anonymous
Surprisingly good against Malenia, not just talking about the AOW
- Anonymous
the speed of the swings is equivalent to other curved great swords, you can check frame data. the significant forward step in light attacks equates to the reach of the dismounter as well. yes, it is the shortest for its class, but they designed the moveset that way intentionally. i have no idea what people are on about complaining about these things. furthermore the ash of war hits like a moving train.
- Anonymous
This is my favorite weapon in the game. I beat the game to ng+7 with this and only this. I don't play much multiplayer but for PVE this is an incredibly good weapon. The design is beautiful and the attack animations are really pretty, which I like a lot. The ash of war is where this weapon shines. the jump attacks alone shred poise and usually poise break most main story bosses within two to four heavy jumping attacks. the ice storm ash just shreds everything. it procs frost, shreds poise and also lowers your hitbox lower to the ground, as you crouch. I've found that you can actually dodge some piercing/swinging boss attacks like morgotts swings and nialls spear thrusts by using the ash of war in front of them, and while summoning the blizzard, you can actually dodge their attacks with the lowered hit box. Another tip I have is that the blizzard lasts longer than your animation, meaning you can attack while the blizzard is still dealing damage. I've seen a lot of players just afk inside the blizzard while its still going, instead of attacking. Even though it has short range, in my 300 hours on that character, I have never once died due to not being able to reach my enemy. To sum everything up, this weapon is actually really strong when used correctly and I think people ***** about it more than they should. Also it looks sick, just like the heroes who wield it. THE ZAMOR EMPIRE WILL RULE AGAIN <3
- Anonymous
Im fine with this sword having short range and slow speed, but the unique r1s dont go far enough to be useful over the other curved swords range advantage. I also think all the r1s should have gotten a longer leap, since you kinda just stand there swinging with low damage and slow speed after the first r1. It becomes especially bad when you compare it to bloodhounds fang, who easily gets 200 more damage with the same stats allocation to max the damage of this one, and then it also has more range, faster r1s, and a less situational skill.
- Anonymous
This thing is hard to use in PvP, having the lowest range and maybe even the lowest AR of the curved greatswords, it's definitely easier to pick up a Bloodhound's Fang or something and call it a day. However, this weapon is also so uncommon in PvP that half the players I fought in arena don't know what the ash of war does and just leap into my ice storm, both frosting them and eating half their healthbar. The R1's are not great even with the buff in attack speed, but it's better to powerstance with another cgs (I personally love using the Monk's Flameblade with Flame of Redmanes aow for a Fire/Ice themed Swordsman.) All in all, it was fun to use but good luck managing the range while spacing.
7/10 Weapon, would use powerstanced

was the speed of this thing's light attacks buffed in 1.09?

I have but a 1 question.
If Zamor knights were mortal enemies of fire giants, despise flame and worship winter,
then how the ***** are their swords and armour are made of iron?
Instead of ice, cold-worked copper or wood & flint for example.
Fromsoft usually has a lot of attention to detail, so that's king of odd...
- Anonymous
The damage is good and the passive frost is a nice bonus, but its slower than a colossal for crying out loud
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
A perfect off hand weapon. The roll catch potential in PvP and the defensive 360 swings in PvP make it a great weapon to pair with a longer reach weapon. I would highly recommend giving this a go
- Anonymous
i wish i spent less time spinning and more time actually hitting the thing im locked onto
- Anonymous
I feel like this weapon got the short end of the warped axe treatment. I think originally this was meant to be either the heaviest curved sword or the lightest curved greatsword. It ended up in the later category, and not being infusible means that outside of the weapon art, this is the worst curved greatsword to use.
Given its range and the graceful attacks, this would have made for an interesting weapon if it could be main handed when dual wielding curved swords.
- Anonymous
Horrible weapon with a godlike weapon art. I only keep it so that I can shake off agressive player groups in PvP. If you manage to land the entire thing in a small, confined area, that's most likely a guaranteed victory for you.
- Anonymous
All devs need to do at this point to make it viable is to buff it's ar, make it hit as fast as other curved greatswords with range buff or make it fastest in greatsword class...
- Anonymous
i feel like this weapon pairs really well as a guard counter weapon.
- Anonymous
Wow did it’s ash of war get a face lift. I have yet to not instantly frostbite a boss and do 2k to mobs lol
- Anonymous
It's certainly appealing design wise, and frostbite is very powerful, but a cold Omen Cleaver or Dismounter will be better overall. The ash is decent, but it's hard to make up for its unbelievably low AR and pathetic attack range. It's serviceable, as every weapon is; I'm sure even weathered straight sword and cane sword have their fans, but seriously, any success you find with this weapon comes down to frostbite (which is not at all exclusive) and your general aptitude for the game, which could translate to any other curved greatsword.
- Anonymous
I've been rocking a light roll build with bloodhounds fang and it's been fine. I've been running through stuff with almost no issue. BHF is mad heavy though, 2.5 lbs heavier than this. And I can actually wear clothes with this so the drip unreal. For real tho, I haven't done a tone with it yet but it's basically impossible to get really any poise period on aight roll build without throwing an insane amount into stamina, but that AoW gives you insane hyperarmor. I've been whacked by one of the mounted spear knights in leyndell at the beginning of the move and didn't get knocked out of the animation, so this becomes veeeery handy for me, a tarnished with all the structural integrity of a wet napkin. It feels so much faster and smoother, not nearly as clunky. And no INT scaling for frost! I was so happy about that. I could keep my pure melee dex build and not mess with my Stat spread. Obviously the AR is lower, and I haven't done much testing against bosses, but so far this feels really good.
This would be a 10/10 weapon if you became a helicopter when powerstancing. Still, nothing short of an amazing weapon. A cool alternative to frost builds without stinky blue. Has a learning curve but effective once you get used to the moveset. Frostbite buildup on the AoW that sends chills down your spine. Makes your head spin with how amazing it is. I might be straight but I would become curved if this weapon was anthropomorphic or something idk.

Sometimes you just don't wanna adhere to the meta and be what you truly wish to be instead; a ballerina
- Anonymous
In my opinion, this is one of the most unique weapons in the game, given its design, moveset, frost buildup, and weapon art. I feel like I mostly hear people complain about the weapon, primarily its range and swing speed. Its damage is also a little low but the frost buildup could make up for that. The weapon art seems really good and frost buildup is always a nice benefit. So overall, is this really a lackluster weapon (mainly in PVE) or is it just that it's overshadowed by things like the bloodhound's fang and could afford to be improved with some slightly tweaking, but is still a fine endgame choice?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
At the very least either the attack speed should be buffed so that it's faster than other curved swords, or the size of the weapon needs to be bigger
At least you can do a little spin. It's also got frost bite, which is pretty neat
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
The first dragon in Farum Azula was kicking my butt a bit. Had trouble using bolt of granseax, had trouble with icerind hatched, pulled out this bad boy and the weapon art annihilated the dragon, and the fight was a cake walk. Say what you want, but this sword has its uses.
- Anonymous
How none of you have even thought to mention this is just baffling to me..
Fire's Deadly Sin resets Frostbite upon proc'ing, no weapon or other fire spell needed to swap to, and the ash of war Zamor Ice Storm procs Frosbite stupid fast. It also breaks stances easily with just a couple R2s. Did I mention you get Hyper Armor during this?
Yeah this thing kicks ***. Use it.
- Anonymous
Important:
Ive found that it breaks poise faster than other curved greatswords. It also seems to have higher hyperarmor.
- Anonymous
Potentially good weapon if it weren't for the bad range and that it's (probably) slower than the other curved greatswords.
- Anonymous
I was playing around with some weapons earlier and it feels like the R1 chain is the same speed as regular CGS's R1 chain.
The main difference between them is range (Because Zamor Curved Sword is much shorter than other CGS's) and the area of the attacks (ZCS's attacks all go from your front to your right side, while regular CGS's slash to both sides)
Outside of that, the Frost build up on this weapon is kind of tragic compared to a Frost infused CGS (Which will reach 127 build up at +25). However it's WA is pretty nice, does good damage and frost build up as well as having a nice area.
However, it's R1's look really cool (If a little silly for fans of weapon based martial arts) and what's life without a little Elden Drip?. Sadly, powerstancing makes you lose the twirls and get generic CGS powerstance moveset, even if you use 2x Zamor blades...
