Godskin Apostle and Godskin Noble is a Boss in Elden Ring. This Elden Ring Godskin Apostle & Godskin Noble Guide features boss locations, tips, strategies and videos on how to defeat the Apostle & Noble easily, as well as boss stats and lore for the duo.

Godskin Apostle and Godskin Noble is a consecutive boss fight and is found in Spiritcaller Cave in Mountaintops of the Giants. It's technically a boss fight against a Spirit-Caller Snail as it summons the spirit duo. However, the godskins represent the real difficulty of the fight, as the snail doesn't put up much of a fight without them.

This is an optional boss, as players don't need to defeat it in order to advance in Elden Ring. However, doing so yields useful Items and Runes. The three bosses don't fight together and instead appear one after the other. Upon entering the boss room, the Godskin Apostle spawns in, followed by the Godskin Noble after it has been defeated, and finally the Spirit-Caller Snail after both are dead. They drop the Godskin Swaddling Cloth and Black Flame Ritual when defeated.

Bosses are unique and challenging Enemies that can be encountered all over the Lands Between. They can drop unique Spirit AshesWeaponsSpells, and other various Items.

Godskin Apostle and Godskin Noble Lore, Notes & Other Trivia

  • The Godskin Apostles' theme is not in Latin. The lyrics are mostly nonsensical latinish syllables and vowel sounds arranged in a way that makes them sound like Latin. This was confirmed by youtuber Antonius Tertius (aka redditor MAGISTER-ORGANI), a Latin scholar, who contacted some music producers and singers of Elden Ring and published the official lyrics and backstage information on his channel.

  • Among the official singers who recorded the Godskin Apostles' theme, there were no children as some believe. The sopranos were all adult women. This was confirmed by youtuber Antonius Tertius who contacted members of the choir hired by Bandai.

what is with all this advice for beating this at low level . why are you fighting a random optional boss in a random cave somewhere that drops nothing of value on a RL1 run

      • I did it guys, behold - the strategy for underleveled dummies who can't git gud. Works for any build and doesn't require farming sleep stuff! (I was lvl 20 with +3 weapons). Things you need: Dung Eater Puppet +10 (easily obtainable, just rush Ranni s quest and visit Mohg's for glowewarts and money), Mana Physick (for those who dont have enough mind), War Pick with Prayerful strike ash (Very Important!!!), Beast reppelent torch in off hand (to make run back easier shall you perish), and as much armor and survival talismans as you need to not be one shot. Now the drill: You stick to dung boi and when hes focused, spam Prayerful Strike. It will heal you both and with a hammer weapon, even a 2.5 weight one, will break godskin poise reliably. Dung boi deals obscene damage when +10 and while the godskins here cant bleed, he is more than capable of killing them himself, and Prayerful strikes will outheal boss damage on him even on zero faith builds. Dont be afraid and spam it shamelessly from behind, just watch the timings and these aoe moves of apostle and lunges of the noble - they can and WILL oneshot you on low level. Oh, and be careful with the snail - it does indeed have a oneshot grab (at least for low level builds). This is perfectly doable on any sl and doesn't require any reaction skill whatsoever except memorizing 2-3 aoe move startups and being able to dodge fattys roll (but there are countless articles on how to do that). Good luck skeletons!

I suck at rolling and dodging, and playing a bleed / poison / frostbite assassin caused me to lose many fights with these two bosses, until I tried a new strategy. I equipped Shabriri’s Woe, entered the boss area and immediately summoned my +10 mimic, then ducked behind the tree to the right of the entrance. There, I was able to swap out that talisman for something else, heal myself, then get into the fight dual-wielding Hoslow’s whip and the urumi, and I basically let the mimic do most of the aggro and fighting while I got in a few whacks. This was my first attempt using this strategy, and it worked very well on both bosses. The mimic still had a good third of his hp at the end.

Your best friend if you don’t have high damage output in this fight is Carian Retaliation vs the blackflame balls. It’s the easiest telegraphed attack to parry from either Godskin. Using the Black Knife’s Ash of War also does some solid base and tic damage. You can kite both of these guys around the arena easily, especially if you light roll any attacks that feel too threatening , and because there aren’t any pillars, you can roll toward the Noble’s feet when he does is Michelin Man roll, and just running in a circle afterwards till he runs out of gas. IMO, it’s easier than at Magma Manor because the pillars make things less predictable. He does angle in a bit toward the end of the roll, so he prepared to back off or roll back when you notice the roll is getting too close. Speaking as a RL 1, no weapon levels, no summons, it can definitely be done.

oh man this sure is a difficult and frustrating fight, having to fight against 2 tough enemies back to back
at least they didnt make you fight them both at once or something haha that would be a nightmare hahaha

              • Anonymous

horrid take here especially considering I have a **** ton of hours and love the godskin fights, very fun to fight both back to back in a arena that is great for noble and apostle.

                • Anonymous

not immune to blood or scaret rot 3 full blasts in his face with scaret rot him and bleed you have to hit them a lot of times like 5 or 6 time sin a row

                  • Anonymous

Are they really inmune to bleed? Last day i did it with a friend that was running dual Reduvia and he melted them with bleed procs? Maybe this is a bug but feels weird

                    • Anonymous

If anyone is struggling with this, I used Shabriris Woe and Dolores the sleeping arrow to kite them around until they fell asleep, then went in and spammed Ash of war

                      • Anonymous

I love using Sleep Pots on these basterds. But, I only co-op now. However, I play with so many noobs and none of ‘em seem to understand/recognize when sleep has procced. I often find myself slappin’ the sh!t out of the Duo, alone! And I’m gettin’ to the point where I have “Buyer’s Remorse” nearly every time I use the pots while helping others.

                        • Anonymous

I summoned some guy for this fight and I guess he forgot it’s three phases so he just stood there after we killed the Apostle until the Noble one-shotted him. I don’t think he knew it was there lol

                          • Anonymous

Worked my ass off at lvl 20 to get to Mountaintop of the Giants just to grab black flame ritual early. I made a bleed build specifically to fight these guys to compensate for the lack of damage. Just to learn they’re immune to everything but sleep lmao. All those hours feels like a waste, I just wanted to have a cool black flame dex/faith build early game lol. Whelp back to the drawing board, ig I need to respecc and level up… fml.

Back again for NG+. My original post: https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Godskin+Apostle+and+Godskin+Noble#16661382
Similar setup but this time, for the bosses, used powerstanced Sword of St. Trina +9 and went aggro with L1, to get the sleep/crit opportunities. After Apostle, summoned Mimic, to help me gank the Noble.
Cheese be damned, the 2x SSTs made this way less stressful. Hope this helps someone.

Just beat them at level 12 with only normal+2 and +0 special weapons. I really recommend you learn these guys by hard before this fight as status effects except sleep won't help you out here.

Here is how I did it:

For Apostle I kept my distance and used black knife whenever I evaded and baited him into throwing a fireball. Also occasionally after baiting out some whiffed attacks as there would be enough recovery to still dodge the following fireball from him or he would try to dodge to the side leaving me with even more time to get away.

The beauty here is, that the black knife weapon art catches the dodges in most instances as its hitbox is quite broad. His second phase I mix in my bloodhound dagger to quickly escape from him or safe dodge into him whenever he would do his helicopter spin move. Note that whenever he does his caterpillar move he swipes in huge ark. However that can be used to fell most of the annoying trees around that could block your WA projectile or later hinder you in critical moments in the fight against Noble.

The moment Godskin Apostle was beaten I used the brief pause to immediately summon Dolores the sleeping arrow put the protective perfume on her and me and also used my wonderous tear (HP and stamina regen).
Godskin Noble gets much quicker in your face and has a deceptively long reach on some of his moves so you have to be ready to disengage constantly or even better bait out some stab attacks first and then back off a bit. While having Dolores with me however I tried to keep as much distance at first as possible and aggroed him by using the vulcano pots and the black knife WA. Doloros does a good job then by putting him to sleep if he does not focus and kill her. When he got to sleep I went ham with the black knife weapon art or used the time carefully to get my FP or my stamina bar full again. Throwing a vulcano pot on him in this state helps quite a bit to get his hp further down. Once he gets to his second stage you need to be careful for the rolling. I usually ran to the opposite side of his head and dodged via bloodhounds step into him and then ran around him until he was close to catching me again. While Dolores was alive she manage to hit him out of the roll two times which helped me a lot. At one point unfortunately (when we had him down to 1/5 of his health) he target swapped during the roll and flattened her so for the rest of the fight I had to deal with him alone. Baited out his stabs (had good practice prior this with the Godskin Noble at Vulcano Manor after I wasted all my resources on the summoned version and almost gave up the idea of ever trying again), hit him after with my lightning infused daggers and disenganged again. I had two sleep pots left and threw them in his face (one after I dodged his stab chain and one after I dodge his fireball) and had him sleep on the second hit so I could use the black knife weapon art again (1v1 is usually risky to use it if he is not very very far away)
Finished him of with vulcano pots after he did his drop attack. The snail I heard from these comments could possibly one-shot me so I keep my distance here too (was out of FP flasks by this point) and threw all my remaining vulcano pots at it just to be safe.

                                Talismans:
                                - Radagon's Scareseal
                                - Turtle Talisman
                                - Carian Filigreed Crest (lower FP consumption of skills)
                                - Faithful's Canvas Talisman
since I play a Thorfin Dagger Cosplay character (therefore bandit as starting class) and I needed those exact 5 points to use black knife's WA

                                Equipment:
                                - Dagger+2 infused with lightning and bloodhound weapon art (mainhand)
                                - blackknife +0 (mainhand)
                                - another dagger +2 with lightning infusion (offhand)
                                - the beast repelling torch to get to the fight (offhand, unequipped it right in front of the fog gate)
(beware that sometimes the samurai in the pit before the big canvern with wolfes outright attacks you so you might have to evade - use the ramp to get down there more safely and quicker than just jumping),
                                - Sword of Trina +0 as a backup in offhand to possibly help Dolores to finish (offhand)
                                - 8-10 Vulcano Pots
                                - 4-6 Sleep Pots
                                - Some thowing daggers for finshing a low health Apostle safely and without wasting resources
                                - Protective Perfume

I cannot stress how crucial it is to get used to their movesets by practicing against the single boss versions in Rhadan's Tower (Godskin Apostle) and and Godskin Noble (Vulcano Manor or Tower Bridge to Divine Tower West).

                                Don't give up skeleton

Godskin Apostles theme played on church organ sounds ghostly dark! I was listening to it through earphones when I finally beat the Godskin duo!!!

                                  • Anonymous

I was finally able to beat this boss by adding Soporific Grease to my +20 Twinblade. Used the Mimic Tear from the beginning, tho like some are suggesting it probably would've been better if I hadn't used it until phase 2. Also if I'd bothered to upgrade and use Dolores. But I managed and that's all that matters.

Apparently the Spirit Snail at the end of the boss fight can kill you. I was doing this at RL1 which was just so much fun. When I finally did kill the two bosses you would think I was home free since I just have the snail left, right? No, the damn thing can attack you apparently and actually 1-shot me. ****, here we go again.

I love godskin apostle. I love godskin noble. they have cool designs. but the boss reuse is getting to me and I am starting to see why people aren't satisfied with the game post-morgott...

                                        • Anonymous

I second the idea of using Dolores the Sleeping Arrow Puppet for this fight. She will manage to get the Godskins to sleep where you can get in some much needed damage since they're immune to the other status effects. Try and keep them in direct line of her position so that she can land her shots, otherwise her arrows will miss. She's also very agile and can dodge many attacks directed at her.

                                          • Anonymous

OMG finally. This was some super aggravating ****. Here's how I did it, melee mode.
                                            * The f'd approach section: Arm beast repellent torch to keep wolves at bay... some have a scripted lunge, ignoring the torch. You gotta rush and kill all the snails right away, to dispel the wolves, and especially to dispel the samurai (sometimes he does NOT die, rather frustrating.) You don't want any interruptions prepping for boss fight outside fog gate.
                                            * Prep for this f'd boss fight: Godrick's Rune, Physick Mix of Opaline Bubbletear/Hardtear, split HP/FP flasks 7/7, Golden Greatshield +25, Sword St. Trina +9, Blasphemous Blade +10, Dolores Sleeping Arrow Puppet Summon
                                            * The f'd boss fight: You must finish the Apostle before summoning Dolores, she won't last through both. Apostle solo, it sucks. Dodge the stupid fireballs, and other telegraphed attacks. I think I got lucky, rolling into close range when he started doing the (serpent stretch?) and giving a bunch of good whacks. If you can defeat him, then summon Dolores. Accompanying her sleep arrows, used St Trina Sword to put him to sleep, quick switch to Blasphemous Blade for big DPS. He has such BS moves (50 yard insta-stab, that fing roll, other AoE crap) Dolores was down to a sliver with Noble at maybe 1/8th left... if she died any sooner, I don't think I would have finished him. DON'T celebrate yet, gotta finish the 3rd boss, the Snail... took 3 whacks with the Blasphblade.
                                            * What a horrible experience. If I wasn't such a completionist, I would have skipped this optional shatshow.

Elden Ring is a lazy mess. They did more harm than good with this game. An insane ton of cloned bosses and areas and it's not ending. I'm almost 200h in and want it to end.

I never had this feeling with any other FromSoft game.

                                              Gaming is dead.

First off, this boss fight really, really needed a Stake of Marika.

As far as beating it, I had to solo the first phase and save the mimic for phase 2. In phase 1, use the trees to get some space to heal if needed. I think I killed him with Rock Sling. The mimic just couldn't make it through both phases, but when I waited, phase 2 was much easier.

I did this fight once. Never again.

I personally reccommend using the Dolores Sleeping Arrow puppet because it puts the bosses to sleep pretty fast to do massive damage depending on your build.

why would someone develop a recycled boss fight, put two of them back to back, and then also add status immunities like bleed, frostbite, and poison. The boss fights in this game are so sub par compared to ds1 and ds3

All I can say is I'd rather do this fight 10 times in a row then deal with Frosty McOneshot flying around outside.

The only bad part about this fight is the fact that you don't gain runes from defeating the summons version as if you would from defeating the real deal.

I’m doing a lot of cooperation for this boss and godskin noble’s rolling attack will some times turn into a thrust that turns immediately back into rolling. Don’t know if this a bug since the new patch or just latency issues but it can really catch you off guard and is probably not intended.

                                                            • Anonymous

I was fighting this boss (melee build, no shield) and I managed to get to the noble phase, but I was almost out of healing items. After some blubber rolls and slams I was down to a sliver of my health with no way to heal but I was dodging most of the attacks and I was winning. So when I had gotten the noble down to about 30% of its health bar, out of nowhere it does this near instantaneous wrath of god horseshit attack that takes the last of my health away. At no other point in the fight did the boss use that attack. I'm not upset that I lost, I would've taken being killed by the roll or ground pound attack, but often times it feels like this game does an ass pull just for the sake of "difficulty." I really don't think about Dark Souls 2 often, because I'd rather not, but for the first time in years I'm reminded of the frustration I had with that game.

I want to know who the hell approved of this boss, because I'm starting to sense that FROMSOFT let some interns make boss fights.

                                                                    • Anonymous

I gave up, because checkpoint is too far away to waste each time one minute and fight against 2 bosses in a row with insane amount of dps.

                                                                      • Anonymous

                                                                        • Anonymous

They do far far far too much damage compared to my own. 40 vigor, heavy armour and a few rapid swings of the apostle will kill me. I hit it with a whole bunch of +9 moonveil attacks and barely notices. This game seems addicted with bosses that never stop attacking and having those attacks 2-4 shot you.

                                                                          • Anonymous

His move set is erratic and hard to dodge, also punished heal. The fat dude on the other hand has mostly thrusts and he’s only major threat is rolling. With apostle I feel like every one of his move can spell your doom

                                                                            • Anonymous

                                                                              • Anonymous

The exact place to find this fight and the Item its attached to is in the Spiritcaller's Cave in the ice Zone of the map after the Capital. I just beat this and thought to throw this here so more people aren't as confused as me and go on a useless scavengers hunt in the River.
