I swear, be it the Pascal and his village in Nier:Automata or Alexander and Jarburg, Japanese devs somehow understand to make you shed a tear about what first seems to be blunt objects.

In new playthrough i was sick of dealing with tree spirits so i just started tossing fire pots and fireballs from horseback at them wile being like lvl 20. This talisman would have being good for that but by now i bought al the pots from early game merchants and had like 12 available enough to kill any tree with. If not fireball and blue flask.

Point being this comes to late to be useful same with jar helmet

Only Fromsoft would make a jar brought to life by the souls of dozens of corpses stuffed inside it the cutest thing in the game.

          After Rya.

So for anyone that accidentally hits him at any point in the quest (I did it one reload before you get the talisman) you can go use celestial dew at the church of vows and when you go back to Jarburg it will be on the step where he was sitting. Hope this helps someone!

This quest bugged out for me and got stuck on the dialogue "wish we could find a potentate as strong as you" despite resting at the grace multiple times, traveling other places, and restarting my system. Diallos never showed up so I killed jar bairn hoping he would drop the talisman and he didn't. Super uncool.

With jar helmet, this talisman and tera magica I'm hitting people for above 800 dmg with academy glintstone pots in 3v3s. Fear the pots.

Wow, this sure looks like a good charm for early game where pots are somewhat good. Surely its available easily and not in the last area of the game right?... right?

Jars are pretty much the mascots of this game, like the Companion Cube of Portal. I like to think this item confirms it.

I accidentally smushed him, whilst I was on his final conversation, and didn't get the talisman. Sorry little dude.

God I wish this was available earlier than what is essentially post-endgame. A level 15 vagabond with no stats or ranged options would LOVE this, but I have to wait til I'm a level 150 godkiller, after I've long given up jars as a ranged option in favor of nuke spells and exploding AoWs.

I completed the Alexander's quest and Bairn is stucked in the prhase: I'm suppose that's part of being a warrior isn't it?

quests like these are why I need to play games like Kingdom Hearts and Metal Gear Rising to decompress

and this is the least depressing one in the game

Both the "Companion Jar" and the "Jar" headgear sadden me greatly by virtue of taking so long to acquire.
I am making a pun character: "Honorary Jar Edd"; and it is sad that I can't rock that beautiful pot over my head and throw fire pots with the boosted damage from both it and the Talisman.

I can confirm that the Diallos questline is totally optional to get this but the Alexander one is not. You don't need to have the village attacked at all but just make sure to totally exhaust Bairn's dialogue, you might have to rest at the grace once or twice but once you get the dialogue about how you probably won't see him again just keep talking until he repeats and go rest at the grace again and the item will be where he was.

With Flame, Grant Me Strength, Fire Scorpion Charm and Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear (along with this and Jar helm) on Giantsflame Fire Pot, I've been getting 1.2-1.5k dmg w/ 55 Fth. Considering Pot Throwing is much faster than most spell casting, that's pretty damn solid. The range is a bit lacking, but I'm still happy I'm seeing these numbers with pots. RIP Alex.

I only comment here to say, that i appreciate the bold characters of POTency in the description on the right.

"Though the jars are brought to life by human flesh and blood, they are all rather kindly folk.", most of them still attack you on sight anyways

Sleep, rot and frost pots are pretty good in pvp because they all proc in 1 throw. None of them particularly benefit from increased jar damage though.

This plus the jar hat and the right build can lead to some impressive damage.
Sacred order pots can do over 1000 damage.

The boost from this and Jarhead are nice but is it viable at all? Perhaps oil pot+ volcano pot combo would be nice but what about everything else?
I hope someone more inquisitive then me actually does some research on this

You can get this with the new patch. I gave the new NPC Jar-bairn in Jarburg Alexander's Insides and when I reloaded the area he was gone and had left the Companion Jar behind.

                                              • Anonymous

with the new update a/o 16 March. They added a new NPC Jarbairn in Jarburg. Exhaust his dialogue a few times and rest until it will give you an option to give Alexanders' innards. After you reset through the grace, this item will appear where Jarbairn was.

                                                • Anonymous

I killed Diallos outside of Raya Lucaria in this playthrough to get his unique helm before Jar Bairn and his questline was added in an update. I was still able to finish Jar Bairn's questline and receive the Jar Companion talisman as a reward after speaking with him between reloading the area a few times and finally giving him Alexander's Innards.

                                                  • Anonymous

Anyone tried to kill or be killed by Alexander wearing the jar given by him? Or use oil jar to pull out a giant jar from the ground?

                                                    • Related to Jar-Bairne (99% sure this is the name of Alexander's Nephew as you can cross his NPC ID with the Dialogue files and they match significantly. This was also tested with Alexander's IDs) most likely cut content. The town had some sort of invasion, Diallos is suppose to be there. Flower farming. Diallos finding purpose. A gift amongst friends in the end when you return the innards of Alex -> Companion Jar. Which is probably later content, scrapped, or was moved to an NPC we havent killed yet that just drops it.

                                                      • To anyone else who can backtrack reward drops from mobs or quests from previous games. Talismans are labeled as Accessories in the Elden Ring files; the Companion Jar is 2210. I am trying to dig for quest reward files/events to see if 2210 is gained from anything or dropped off a mob or found in the world. But I do not know what files these events or interactions would be stored in. If anyone knows how they were stored in previous games, just reply here, I'll keep looking, thanks! (The point is to see if this is cut content or not).

                                                        • For those wondering, you DO get this when you finish Alexander's questline. However, it is cut-content. In some leaked releases, we could see 'Alexander Nephew' in the credits, and checking the datamines you could see he and Diallos exchanged some dialogue, supposedly in Jarbug. However, on the final version of the game, he's removed from the credits, meaning they probably decided to cut the questline, and forget/didn't care to remove the 'Alexander Innards' item.

This might just be cut content because if you go to jarbug there's a part on the map that isn't there, and the jar helmet does the same thing this is supposed to.

You get this when you talk to Alexander chilling in the magma at mt.Gelmir. if you have progressed further into his quest into mountaintop of giants then you probably missed it.

                                                              • Has anyone tried completing all of Alexander's Questline AND Dialos without beating the Liurnia of the Lakes area boss. Somewhere online it said an invasion happens there (probably when you return with his innards) and it isnt triggering because the area boss is dead for everyone. She isn't needed for his questline, right?

                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                    • Anonymous

                                                                        • Anonymous

                                                                          • Anonymous

Could it be that we need a number/all of the cracked/ritual pots to acquire this from an NPC?

                                                                            • Anonymous

                                                                              • Anonymous
